This really isn't the right forum for discussing J-Pop, so I'm going to move it to Movies, Music and TV. Please make sure that you're starting threads in the correct place, heh. I find the best place for any kind of Japanese music is CD Japan.co.jp. Recommended to me by wrist cutter, you can always make sure you're getting the genuine article. It's a little more expensive than some places, but at least the money you spend ends up going to the right people.

Seeing as the question's been answered, I'll close the thread. If there's anything else you're unsure of, please be sure to check the Rules and FAQ pages- links to both are located in the blue menu to the left of the forums. And if you've any further questions, all you need to do is send a PM. Thread closed. Welcome to OtakuBoards, Great Mizuti.

Thanks r2. But please be mindful that playing mod is also against the rules. Friendly reminders are fine, but anything above that isn't fair game. It's necessarry to check for existing threads before starting a new one, Master Kakashi- we only have one thread per specific anime in the Anime Lounge in order to prevent cluttering, and we also have a big Sticky thread about Cartoon Network schedulings at the very top of the forum. To check for anime threads, you can look through the Official Threads Directory- another Sticky at the top of the forum, or you can check using the 'Search' option. Thread closed. If you've any questions, feel free to send a PM.

Since Final Fantasy X is a game and not an anime, this should really belong in the Play It forum, since that deals with all types of game and any discussions that stem from them. However, I think they've probably already got an FFX thread somewhere already, so I'm just going to close this. Please be sure to check you're in the right forum before starting a new thread.

Anime Looking for a very ::old:: anime...

Anime What happened to Medabots??????!!!!!!
Solo Tremaine replied to Osaka Sakaki's topic in Otaku Central
Guys, lets try and have some sensible discussions here please.
Cmon people i want to know bump
Osaka, double-posting is strictly against OB's Rules, so please don't do it. If there's something you want to add to your original post, you can use the 'Edit' button. -
Several points: Please try and work on your post quality- this is virtually unreadable. Be sure to check the spelling, grammar and punctuation in your posts to make sure that it's coherent and of the standard we expect at OB. Copious use of abbreviations are not allowed and count as spam, as do long, run-on sentences. When starting a thread about a specific manga, please take time to include details about the manga itself- the characters, the storyline and what it is about it that you like so that other people can discuss it too. Posts that are too short and undetailed will be deleted as spam in future. I'll leave this open for the moment, if only because nothing's been started about it already. I'd suggest you take a look at the Rules page when you next get the chance.
Pirates may be the foremost provider of anime in the world but they are hurting anime not helping. Fansubs help anime, even distributors watch fansubs to tell if the anime is worth bringing stateside. If I can't afford anime I would sell my furniture just to buy a boxset. I'm currently going to college, have no job, and yet I'm still able to buy anime.
I know. I never said pirate companies were good. But I'm dubious as to how beneficial fansubs actually are. There are bound to be people who'll just download the anime subtitled (not even fansubbed) and have done with it. If I couldn't afford anime, I wouldn't buy it. Simple as that.
By the way there are also so many animes that, some are just not worth all the effort and money if you actually don't know what they are about or whether you'll like them. This way it becomes easier to make your selected archive of favourites.
I can't say I agree with that- just because there's so much doesn't really justify creating a pirate library to save you money. Regardless of the quality of the anime itself, buying pirate DVDs still supports illegal companies, and adding to an archive of favourites means nothing with regards to actually supporting the companies that you like. All are capable of both good and bad animes. At least by buying only Volume 1 of a series you don't have to sit through so many episodes before you decide you don't like it. And then you can sell it off on eBay...

Anime Let's Talk about Kurama, Hiei, and any othe cute anime characters!!
Solo Tremaine replied to a topic in Otaku Central
There's a thread with almost exactly the same discussion located here. Please be sure to check for existing threads before starting a new one. Thread closed. -
Posting song lyrics without any intention of actually discussing them counts as spam, and considering there's a thread which already talks about favourite songs here, I can't really see any need for this to stay open. Please make sure to include more detail in your posts in future, especially when starting a thread. And try not to use too many abbreviations if you can, heh. Thread closed.

Hello Diskip ^_^ Welcome to OtakuBoards. Feel free to look around and post as you wish- I'd recommend replying to a few existing topics before starting your own, just to get an idea of what to do and the kind of standard we expect at OB. There a Rules and FAQ pages that should be looked at if you're unsure of something to do with how the forum works, and if there's something that you still don't understand you're welcome to drop us a PM. Unfortunately, Introductory threads aren't allowed any more at OB, since they've had a tendency to draw in spam in the past. Aside from that, be sure to stay within the rules, and have fun. Anime I have a question about animes in america.
Solo Tremaine replied to rascalkitten's topic in Otaku Central
Seeing as this discussion seems to be centering around anime rather than manga, I'm moving it to the Anime Lounge. Please make sure to be clear on the topic's subject to avoid confusion and spamming. -
I'm totally against bootlegs. I can't believe this site which is dedicated to the discussion of all things anime allow this type of "bootleg" discussion. Do you know for every bootleg you buy, you actually "help" destroy anime? I don't mean to pry in but when someone such as yourself actually encourages bootlegs to someone else I find that disturbing. Mods, like Dagger shouldn't even allow bootleg encouraging. I know anime is expensive "only" because piracy is so high. :animeknow
This isn't a discussion just about bootlegs- it's primarily about whether it's wrth importing anime into the UK. And unfortunately, since bootlegs cover such a huge portion of the market, it's silly just to deny that they exist. I only buy genuine releases now. In fact, I intend to buy all eight Trigun DVDs to replace the FX set I bought on eBay some time ago. But a lot of people simply don't have the money to spend. And when you're faced with a choice between a whole series for $120 and the whole series for $25, which is the one you're going to go for, realistically? I'm sure a lot of people don't know the difference, and won't until they get the DVD. Even buying genuine soundtracks is getting increasingly hard. I ordered an Outlaw Star CD which I was told on the listing was released by Victor Records, but when I got it back, it turned out to be an Ever Anime bootleg. I'm going to re-order that, too. I'm not an advocate of bootlegs. Or downloads, for that matter. I hate them. But until there's proper control over what is sold in internet shops (and really, I don't think most eBay sellers actually care- they just want to make money in the same way the bootleg companies do), they are going to be the foremost provider of anime around the world. It's sick and irritating, but that's just how it is.

Anime Which naruto character is your favorite
Solo Tremaine replied to egutsu's topic in Otaku Central
Discussions about Naruto characters should be part of the Naruto threda- we only allow one topic per specific anime series, otherwise things become horribly cluttered. Please make sure to check for existing threads before starting a new one, either by running a search of the forum or by looking through the Official Threads Directory at the top of the forum display. Also, please make sure that your new topic won't already fit in line with a thread that's already been started- there's a general favourite character thread on the first page of the forum anyway, so this could work in either. But on its own, unfortunately, it doesn't really stand. favourites threads tend to draw a lot of poor-quality replies, and that isn't something we try to encourage at OB. Thread closed. -
There's a Gantz thread (albeit a very small one) here where you can discuss the series. For some reason this wasn't on the Official Threads Directory (it's always worth searching the forums just in case), but in future when starting a thread about a specific anime please try to include more detail about the series in question- what the story's about, what the characters are like, what you like about it, etc. Otherwise they're likely to be closed as spam. Thread closed.

Sign Up Clandestine I: Terracotta [PG-VLS]
Solo Tremaine replied to Solo Tremaine's topic in Theater
I've decided on a date to close sign-ups and make a final decision on who's in: this coming Sunday (the 12th). I'd originally planned on Monday but I didn't want to keep everyone waiting that extra day, heh ^_^; There's still time for more, and for changes to be done if needs be. -
Well, I'd recommend looking through people's thoughts on the Bleach manga (in the Manga Workshop) or the Bleach anime and see whether you think it's something you'd enjoy. And you can ask in either of those how it compares to Shaman King (although from what I've gathered, there's hardly a comparison). Please be sure toeck for existing threads before starting a new one, either by looking through the Official Threads Directory Sticky at the top of the Anime Lounge, or by running a search. Also, please be sure to check the thread is in the right forum. Manga discussions need to be in the Manga Workshop, and Anime topics belong in the Anime Lounge. Thread closed.

It's odd, but when I saw Clone Wars in separate three-minute episodes throughout regular programmion Toonami, I didn't think it was that good. Okay, I've never been a great fan of Cartoon Network's typical studio animation style, but after watching them all together on the DVD, it actually wasn't that bad. I still think that some of the creatures and machines they had were a little unrealistic, to say the least.
That massive pile-driver that Mace Windu defeated all by himself? What kind of practical purpose would that thing actually have, except for ridiculously excessive squashing? And do they have any idea how much energy you would need to pull that thing back up again after it's dropped, let alone have it LEVITATE ACROSS A DESERT? Come on...
But it is a cartoon, I suppose. I would like to see the second series, though ^_^
Solo, cockney is not posh. Don't try and confuse non-British people! ~_~ (lol)
Hee, I mean that quasi-British accent that you so often get used in animes (Read or Die, the Cowboy Bebop movie) that's a sort of mix of cockney and stupidly upperclass people. When I hear people putting on those accents it just makes me cringe. And unfortunately, with R.O.D the TV using a lot of English characters... Makes me wonder how in need of good RP English voices they're in need of, heh.
Thanks Solo this is realy useful info as the only anime ive been able to get cheap was my kenshin off ebay. I realy hate not being able to get much anime here. Sometimes HMV has some and also Play.com[/url'] , not the biggest selection, but whats theres cheap.
Otaku.co.uk isn't the cheapest place, but I think it's the best. You can get all sorts of anime stuff there. Surprisingly, Amazon UK is the cheapest place to buy some anime DVDs. Marketplace sellers can have US discs for as little as £11 a pop and with very little shipping charge. But there's still a risk of a customs charge if you order too much- generally it's over 18 quid's worth. Mind you, Amazon's good even for Region 2 DVDs from the main shop; my Chrono Crusade Vol 1 was only £14.99.

Anime what anime world would u like to be in
Solo Tremaine replied to gundampali23's topic in Otaku Central
There's a thread incredibly similar (in fact, identical) to this one located here, in which you can have exactly the same discussion. I don't think there's a need for two, somehow ^_~ Thread closed. -
This belongs in the Play It forum, as it's a game-related question. Hopefully someone there will be able to answer it for you ^_^ Please be mindful of your post quality in future in terms of length and use of proper punctuation. Make sure that you're clear with what you're asking too, else nobody'll be able to help.

Anime Samurai Pizza Cats and lack of existance
Solo Tremaine replied to ForgottenRaider's topic in Otaku Central
Funnily enough, I ran an eBay search a few seconds ago, to find that the first volume of the series has been released on DVD (circa 2003)... It contains the first five episodes, character bios, and is in English. And apparently, the quality's terrible. Chances are it'll be released soon, what with increasing demand for vintage shows and anime on DVD. -
Anime Hi i just wanted to introduce myself!
Solo Tremaine replied to Osaka Sakaki's topic in Otaku Central
Welcome to OtakuNoards, Osaka ^_^ We're happy to have you. Unfortunately, Digimon went the way of all things and is pretty much over. There was a computer-animated film due to be released at some point, but I've not heard anything about it for a while (it's called Digimon: X Evolution, and stars just the creatures). Lord knows what state that's in. There are a number of Digimon fans on the board who miss the series, and I'm sure many would like to see it back. But with the incredibly poor network distribution (and apparently, sub-par writing) that Frontier got, it's not surprising that people started losing interest and Bandai losing patience. Thread closed. If you want to discuss a specific anime series, be sure to check through the forum first, either by looking at the Official Threads Directory or running a search. If you have any questions, feel free to send a PM. Otherwise, enjoy yourself ^_^ -
Welcome to OtakuBoards, Gumi. I should really direct you to our Rules page first, as there are some things I need to point out. Please try and put a lot more detail into your posts in future. As this stands, it is spam because it has no point and is far too short. Please try to make sure your posts have a clear purpose and that they're of a decent enough length to prevent them from being deleted. It also makes reading much more interesting, heh. Thread closed. If you've any questions, feel free to send a PM.

Anime What is your favorite anime character
Solo Tremaine replied to sbrebaby's topic in Otaku Central
Okay, if this thread is going to stay open, people are going to have to put far more detail into their posts, explaining what it is about their favourite characters that they like. Follow the examples set by people on previous pages, please.
