1. Welcome to OtakuBoards, Sailor Ganymede ^_^ Please be sure to check for existing threads before starting a new one. As stated in the 'How to Post in the Anime Lounge' thread, there is only one thread per specific anime- the forum becomes incredibly cluttered otherwise. You can check for threads already open about Naruto either by looking through the Official Threads Directory or by running a search yourself. There's a Naruto thread here for all your discursive needs, heh. Thread closed. If you have any questions, feel free to send a PM.
2.
There is a Yu Yu Hakusho thread below, you should use that.
Yes- please be sure to check for existing threads before starting a new one. In the Anime Lounge we only allow one thread per single specific anime, so any discussion of Yu Yu Hakusho characters, plot, hair styles or anything like that should go in the YYH thread here. Thread closed.
3. My vote definitely lies with that of Miss Shitow. RahXephon is one of my favourite animes ever and she remains an incredibly strong character all the way through. I'll admit that in the beginning I found her motives and behaviour a little confusing, although that was probably more the fault of the 'little-by-little' plot revealing than her own character. Washu doesn't really do anything fo me. She's my second favourite Tenchi character (Sasami being my first), but even then in terms of depth there isn't a great deal there. Not to the extent of Kiyone, but I can't help feeling I've grown out of Tenchi somewhat now. Tenchi In Love was good, though. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned Haruka has far more depth and a greater resolve than Washu, soI'm voting for her.
4. Funimation aren't associated with FOX as far as I'm aware. They deal with English dubs for a fair few anime series, including Fullmetal Alchemist and Inuyasha. I've merged this thread with the original Inuyasha thread. In future please make sure that your new thread topic won't fall into the discussion(s) already being had in others, else the forum becomes incredibly cluttered.
5. Welcome to OtakuBoards, Kiarue ^_^ When starting a thread about a specific anime, next time please be sure to either run a search of the forum or check the Official Threads Directory Sticky at the top of the forum display- we have one thread per specific anime series, and there's a Gravitation topic right here for your delectation and discursive needs, heh. Thread closed. If you have any questions, feel free to send a PM.
6. No broadcast date has been set as of yet, but the DVDs are in production. There's a Gundam SEED thread here where you can ask questions about the series in future. Please be sure to check for existing threads using the Official Threads Directory Sticky at the top of the page or by running a search of the forum. Thread closed.
7. Better late than never, I have finally fallen in love with Fullmetal Alchemist. The first DVD volume has finally been released in the UK, and I've watched the first three episodes so far. I was going to try and pace myself so I wouldn't be waiting in painful anticipation of DVD 2 (not out here till July, damnit!) but I couldn't help it, heh. I had to see how Ed and Al came to be how they were. On first impressions it's an amazing series- even the first episode of Naruto didn't affect me as strongly as FMA did- I found it shocking and hilarious in different points and I was really impressed with the dubbing, too. I've never been an avid fan of Vic Mignogna- I've never found him to be that expressive in his roles but he does well and hasn't annoyed me thus far. Al sounds really cool too, heh. There's always a risk that young voice actors'll be too twee or grating but Aaron Dismuke is easily the best I've ever heard. There's such a depth in his portrayal of Al. The only problem I've had with FMA was spending about two hours trying to correct myself over which of the two were Ed and Al. If someone asked me I'd still not be 100% sure, and I don't know why that is. Just me, probably. I'm far too scared to look over anything that's already been said in this thread (I know I've had to cover up spoilers in some posts already... didn't really appreciate having to do that), so until I can actually say more about it I'llhave to leave it here, heh. Damn Cartoon Network for not getting Adult Swim over to the UK...
8.
mmmmmmmm that anime is great man o man so much action
ninja demon, this post really is insufficient. Please try and put more thought and detail into future replies. Explain what it is about the anime that you like or at least build a little more on what it is about the action that compels you. Also, please make sure that you're using correct spelling (i.e. no abbreviations), grammar and punctuation. If you have any questions about this, the Rules page should explain everything to you.
9. Both of you need to work on your post quality- please put more thought into your posts in future and add more detail where you can, especially if you're starting a thread- explain what it's about, who the characters are and what it is that you like about it. Posts that are too short/undetailed will be deleted as spam.
10. Faye and Rei are similar in different ways (and not just because their names rhyme... I never noticed that before, heh). Personally, I think Rei's the better-looking of the two and I always found something I could identify with in terms of her quietude. In terms of a character actually being interesting, though, I think Faye is definitely the winner. She's funny, loud, boyish and has far more memorable moments in Bebop than Rei does in Evangelion. Faye really intrigues me- her enigmatic past must be a huge point of interest for her fans, and that was something that kept me watching Bebop (aside from the rest of its brilliance, heh). Rei's enigma isn't quite as enthralling, in my opinion. I'm glad I can finally give a comprehensive view on two of these contestants, heh. I've not seen a vast array of anime. Anyway, I'm voting for Rei. She's always been a character that I've liked design-wise, even if as a character she's relatively boring. The most connected I felt to her, as Dagger menationed earlier, was when she
sacrificed herself.
That was one of my favourite moments in the entire series, and I really would have liked to have seen her character develop beyond that before it happened. Ah well.
11. Thanks to everyone for answering the question ^_^ In future, Final Remix, please be sure to search the thread for existing topics that may already answer your question- there are threads for both the Rurouni Kenshin series and Samurai X (the OVAs) listed in the Official Threads Directory Sticky at the top of the forum display. Thread closed.
12. Raina, please refrain from using abbreviations in posts- it looks untidy and is against the Rules. I find it interesting the relation of anime fans to internet users. I'd say most anime fans would be internet users, even though not all internet users are anime fans. I guess it's because in western markets such as the US and UK where anime gets released after it does in Japan, people are always interested to know what's coming next and the internet's the best way to keep track of it. Eh, I've never met anyone I'd call an anime 'stereotype'. I know someone who keeps going on about how crap some dub names are, but that's about the only regular trait I can find. I have many friends and am incredibly active, so I can't see where the 'no life, no friends' comes in. But that's just me. I don't admit to many people that I'm an anime fan. A lot of people who mention it seem to bring up hentai as well, and I don't want to come off as a pervert.
13. I was really impressed with how this thread started, but looking at it now I think it's probably gone as far as it can go without running into a huge pile of spam (which it was getting close to anyway). Thread closed.
14. Of course, replying to spam without also adding to the topic at hand is also spamming, you realise... Heh, the sentiments are really appreciated, but Moderation's for the mods ^_~ Unfortunately I have to remain impartial to the actual topic, as I've not seen either of these two series. I need to watch more anime...
15. Guys, I'd appreciate it if you followed Roxie's example and give reasons for your choices, otherwise this'll be closed as spam.
16. Your best bet would be to look here for help on episodes or general storyline. Please be sure to check the forum for existing thread before starting one about a specific anime, either by running a search of the forum or by checking the Official Threads Directory Sticky at the top of the forum display. Thread closed.
17. At fifteen you should not have been married, even in Nebraska. Whether it happened or not something isn't right there. The minimum age with parental consent is seventeen for men and women. Without it's 19. So it wouldn't have been a legal marriage, if anything. But even so, there's 'too much sex' and 'sex too soon', which is a fundemental difference between the two situations. It's not as if any amount of sex will get you more pregnant- once is enough. But anyway, I didn't really answer the questions in my last post. 1. I would say yes. But a lot of couples, when they first get together have sex very often. It's not unusual. You just need to remember that it has to be purposeful, otherwise it loses its meaning. 2. Yes and no. While sex can strengthen a physical bond, if you have it too often it can desensitise you to how much it actually means. Whereas the first time might have been something incredibly special, doing it over and over again becomes just plain sex. 3. I would say so, but really it's up to the people who are going to have sex. If it's a mutual itch that both want scratching, then fine. If not, I wouldn't force either one into it. 4. I think so. Just be firm with yourself (and him)- the longer you leave it between times, the more enjoyable it'll be the next time you do.
18. It sounds like he's still with you for physical comfort rather than a fully-fledged love. If you want him to love you like he did, t might be an idea to try other, more exciting things together to strenghten the emotional bond you share. In relationship terms, it will probably depend on what you and your partner feel that you want to do. Medically, however, you can. It's mostly (and I'm sure you probably don't) if you use performance-enhancing drugs. Just make sure that you leave ample time between sex sessions and you won't run the risk of tearing tissue or developing priapism. Aparrently, twice a week is the optimum for having sex. While a certain amount of sex is good for you, having too much can actually weaken your immune system.
19. But then, why not just be strict about the levels of violence and language you have in an RPG you've created? If all the RPGs created are going to be M-Rated anyway regardless of their intended content then why bother rating them individually and just rate the forum itself? Personally, I like my RPGs with as little swearing as possible and while they may get a little graphic in terms of gore content, I always appreciate people's efforts to come up with new and descriptive ways of expressing feelings and action without going over the top.
20.
When it comes to anime visuals, Last Exile brings home the crown. Last Exile is truly a magnificent work of art. :D

I have to say last exile. Whatever one thinks of the story, it's impoosible to say it's not beautiful, while at the same time it fuses classical and futuristic design while remaining understated and not giving into the the evil lure of garish primary colours.
I really have to disagree here. I've only watched two volumes of Last Exile and I really didn't feel like taking it any further. While a greyscale is effective and is a nice contrast to the vibrance of some other animes, the thing I didn't like about Last Exile was the characters' eyes. They just look so... dead compared to the others I watch. And in that way i found it harder to identify with the characters because some just didn't look human enough. I know that's probably the point of a lot of them, but even the two children (Klaus especially) didn't do anything for me. And I'm still always wary of computer animation in anime- the style that GONZO uses just doesn't sit right with me. It didn't in Blue Submarine No. 6 and it still doesn't seem to blend in properly with the rest of the animation. I much prefer the handdrawn animation- until something better arrives, the ship battles in Outlaw Star and Cowboy bebop will always remain a firm favourite with me. But as for which anime I think has the best visuals... it depends on what aspect you're talking about. The anime I choose to watch will depend heavily on what the characters look like. I've never bothered watchin Akira, for instance, because I just can't stand the way the characters look compared to ones in animes like Evangelion. And while the anime itself isn't my favourite, I think the character designs in Eva always have something deeper about them that makes them really stand out. In terms of a series/show as a whole, Cowboy Bebop (the movie in particular) was the one that impressed me the most visually. The characters, the angles, the scenery... it'll be hard to surpass that.
21.
Neon Genesis Evangelion.
I don't want to turn into an orange pile of goo!

Haha, certainly! That'd have to be my first choice. Having had
the world almost destroyed once, consistently devastating alien invasions and then to have the whole world completely destroyed again
, it just isn't very healthy. The same goes for any series which starts with the whole planet being covered in some kind of massive conflict- Gundam Wing, RahXephon, Nadesico... in terms of trying to lead a practical life it'd be nigh-on impossible without being over-run by some nasty force. Mind you, considering the vast majority of animes are centered in and around Japan and I'm currently living in England, it probably wouldn't make that big a difference. I would be incredibly afraid of the Shin Chan universe, though. That animation... *shudders*
22. I don't think Kazu or Kenta from the Digimon Tamers series had any purpose whatsoever, except to annoy me. I think much better time could have been spent on some of the other characters (Ryo, perhaps) rather than poor comic relief. But it's not even as if they were integral to the main events of the storyline anyway. Although I suppose you do need some characters who just move the incidental scenes along. I just wish they'd been a bit... nicer, really. Along similar lines, it probably wouldn't have made any difference if Armadillomon was in Digimon Adventure 2 or not. But that's something I'm actually annoyed about, cause I like him. He must have had the least screentime out of all the new digimon and hardly got a chance to do anything else. What a waste of a cute digimon.
23. Alright, I am moving this to the Otaku Lounge now, seeing as the discussion's moved quite far from anime now. Perhaps it'll do better there.
24. This is an interesting choice of topic, but I'd like ot ask everyone who replies to give reasons for their choices so that it doesn't end up as list after list of bishies. You could even go on to say what their tours would be like. Some characters are bound to clash with each other...
25.
no one can be truley hated, even if you are pure evil. but i dont know who you are, but maybe we can be friends[/size'] :animesmil
I'm sure duoikari appreciates the sentiments, but please keep replies to the topic at hand. if there's something you want to address to a member in particular that is not related to the thread, please use the Private Messaging system.
