"I'm glad you're finally starting to see things my way." The Sargeant grinned, his oily sardonic voice filling Knuckles' head with feelings of rage. The Sargeant clicked his fingers and the second police officer roughly grabbed the beaten echidna, sitting his chair upright opposite the towering frame of his captor. "A businss associate of mine-" Knuckles snorted. "One of your drug sponsors, you mean." Unusually for the Sargeant, he curbed his violent intintc and simply sat calmly in his chair, although his eyes spoke stories of brutal violence if knuckles were to step out of line again. "A business associate of mine is making an important delivery tomorrow night. Now, since it would be inconvenient for me to take it personally, I need someone to act as an intermediary. I can assure you that if you do exactly as you're told, you will remain safe." "What the hell's so dangerous that even you can't pick it up? I thought you were supposed to be untouchable." Knuckles scoffed, leaning back in his chair. The Sargeant leant closer in. "I'm warning you, Knuckles..." Knuckles glared directly into tha bear's eyes, defiant. "Threaten me all you like, you can't scare me. Sitting here I've nothing left to lose, so I don't care what the fuck you decide to do with me. But you'll lose yourself an opportunity to finish a job, and that could cost you far more than it would me. So it would be in your best interests to spill." The Sargeant slammed his fist on the table. "HedgeTech are taking in a delivery of some hazardous substance to fuel their substation. Since my relations to HedgeTech are extremely close, if one of my 'partners' wants something it's mine to take, in return for various discrepancies not going to press. But lately HedgeTech security's stepped up its activity, meaning I've had no access to anything. My partners are getting very upset. And believe me, when my partners get upset, everyone knows about it. I will not have my position ripped out form underneath me, and if you don't follow through with this I will kill you and every bone of your pathetic friends." "So the driver's going to HedgeTech?" "No. The HedgeTech lorries are unmarked. I've paid a considerable amount of money to the driver of the truck to stop underneath the freeway going directly to the centre of Sation Square. There you'll pick up the truck and drive it to a discreet location where you'll be met by a representative of my partner, wo'll take the goods off you. Then you'll be free to go as you please." "Until you want another job from me, no doubt..." The Sargeant ripped the handcuffs from Knuckles' arms."My, we do learn quickly." "I'll phone your cess-pit fight house tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm sharp. If you're not there, it's your neck. Clear?" "Fucking crystal." Knuckles muttered, cracking his neck to one side. He was roughly handed a towel to clean the blood from his face ith- he tossed it back and strode out of the holding cells. "And by the way-" The Sargeant called after him. "Mr. Shadow T Hedgehog's personal assistant is waiting to speak to you outside. Say anything and I'll kill you with my bare hands." Knuckles shook his head. It seemed like anything he did would result in him being killed in one way or another. As he punched open the door to the reception area he glanced over to see a pert female echidna sitting uncomfortably on the rotten station chairs. "What the fuck does she want with me?" he thought to himself...
No, The answer is this. He breaks the table in half. Put it together and one half and another half is a whole. He goes out the whole.
Pretty much, yeah. Except the version I had was:
The man rubs his hands together until they are sore, then used the saw to cut the table in half. He then put the two halves together to make a whole, then climbed out of the hole.
. But it's close enough, heh ^_~

Heh, this one really works better when it's spoken as it's a little obscure, but it's the only one I know. If anyone knows it already they'll understand what I mean. A man is in a sealed room with no doors and no windows. In the centre of the room is a table. How does he get out?
-
'Lighter', as in cigarette lighter? That would work quite nicely, heh. Because the word would have to be both a noun and a comparative word at the same time: the only one I can think of that qualifies as both of these is 'lighter'.
A man is lying in a field, with a box next to him. The man is dead. What's in the box?
A jack in the box, perhaps? The man opened it, was frightened so much that he had a heart attack and died. That's all I can really think of. I'm sure the field has something to do with it, though.

This has already been gone over several times, both in the Cartoon Network line-up thread and pertty much any other thread that's ever mentioned Adult Swim. As much as it is an issue, I think it can be discussed in a more constructive way in the threads that already exist. And you're still getting more anime than the UK, so at least be partially grateful for that, heh. Thread closed.

I seek the Help of OtakuBoarders Assembled
Solo Tremaine replied to DeathBug's topic in General Discussion
That sounds really cool ^_^ Much better than the experiments we did in Psychology, heh. I'm not sure where you'd be able to find a reference for something like that, but I'm sure it's probably been done. You could try looking through the archives on http://psychology.about.com/ to see if there's anything similar about, or consult a textbook. I did a relatively similar experiment in which I walked down a street holding a white envelope. I dropped the envelope on the pavement and recorded if anyone helped, and who the helpers were. Who would be more likely to help if a man/woman dropped the paper, for example. Make sure you have a few things to record, otherwise the variables could become too confounding-some groups of people (i.e. law students) might be more prone to reading through than others. Ideally, you want to be able to target a reprasentative amount of the population, but it's not always an ideal practice, heh. -
This 'virus' is a hoax. As officially stated by Symantec.com here, there is nothing to worry about apart from all the other viruses that can delete your computer out of existence. Regardless of the fact that it's a virus warning, I always get suspicious when someone tells me to forward something to everyone I know. That's a big indicator that it's a piece of trash. But new viruses are always on the prowl, so I keep my virus protection software up to date constantly anyway. And I don't have a direct e-mail account on this computer anyway, so I don't have that much of a problem here.
But, I do agree however, that the popularity DOES affect the number of sign ups. Such as, the more popular members WILL get more sign ups and that the status of new member MIGHT affect if people sign up. But, like I said, it all depends on how much effort you put into the RPG.
Only insofar as it is a popular RPG. A Popular person could create a really obscure RPG that nobody really develops an interest in and hence get very few sign-ups. I'll agree that a popular member will tend to get more views than a normal RPG because people already know what that person's capable of and are taking an interest in what their friend's written.
An great example is when Aqua posted her RPGs and she was still a new member. Since she put effort into those RPGs, she got the number of sign ups that she needed. Like myself, I didn't put much effort into very many of my RPGs, except for Winds of Sorrow. So, like I said, you need to put more effort into your RPG, if you want sign ups.
Exactly. But even then the amount of effort you put into an RPG isn't always represented by the number of people who apply. I put a hideous amount of effort into a Starfox RPG I made years ago and got fewer sign-ups than the average battle thread, and I was already a Moderator at the time. But it didn't work because I was too restrictive on the storyline. So it's really about creating something which is universally appealing but while still containing a unique twist of originality. I've seen at least five Digimon RPGs starring the Ten Spirit Warriors and it just makes me switch off. Not because I don't like the members who created them, but simply because I don't like the format of the RPG.

LashamaruChaos, this is spam. Favourite character character threads have long been on shaky ground and this unfortunately is not an example that can continue. Asking people to post their name and age could be regarded as a breach of privacy anyway. And flaming other characters for no reason is pointless if there's no reasoning or decent debate behind it. If you want to discuss Inu Yasha characters you can do so in the Inu Yasha thread. But pointless posts will not be tolerated anywhere. Also, threads created specifically for the advertising of another site are against OB's Rules, which I would seriously suggest you take a look at before posting again. Thread closed.
Also, have you ever noticed that when a "Respected Member" posts an RPG everyone scrambles to sign-up for it. Of course most are usually very very good ideas but I have a feeling that some members sign-up just so they can get a good relationship with the "In-Crowd" of OB. (As funny as that is... Lol... funny.)[/size']
That's not true. Quite a few of my more obscure RPGs hardly got any sign-ups: one died after only 11 posts in the actual Arena, and three of those were mine >.> And not all Moderators actually participate in RPGs anyway. I think you're taking this too much at face value. If an RPG really catches my eye, I'll sign up for it regardless of who started it. But bear in mind that a lot of 'New Members' aren't necessarily fully aare of the kind of standards that usually go far on OB, so by the time they might have perfected their tone they're no longer 'New Members' and have made friendships throughout the community, making them popular. I don't think there is an 'In-Crowd' on OB: there are different groups of friendships anywhere, and it's likely that the same friends will be interested in the same sorts of things and will have the same ideas, so will sign up for similar RPGs. But if it were a true conspiracy, you'd see the same people in every single RPG ever. Which is definitely not the case.

Welcome to OtakuBoards, dart336. Unfortunately, although this is the first Yu-Gi-Oh thread in the Anime Lounge, I'm going to have to close it because the quality of your post simply isn't up to the standard we expect on the Boards: please look over the Rules as soon as possible to see where you need to improve. Thread closed.

Welcome to OtakuBoards, Alsyce. Please be aware the threads created for the sole purpose of advertising other sites is against the rules, even if there is a discussion intended to be started about it. If you want to advertise something of your own, you can do so by putting the link in your Signature. But really... this isn't the kind of thing that classes as a suitable debate, so I'm going to have to close the thread. Please be sure to read the Rules.

Welcome to OtakuBoards, *Twinkle*. Please be aware that threads such as this are against OB Rules (which I would suggest taking a look at ASAP) and are considered spam. And if you really want a FLCL avatar, you're welcome to either make your own or ask someone to make one for you in the Art by Request forum. Thread closed.

"Name?" The dim walls of the prison cell echoed the monotone voice of the officer in charge of the dictaphone, who glared at Knuckles with the sort of look one might give a piece of excrement stuck to the sole of one's shoe. "Name?" he repeated, this time more forcefully. There was a brief pause, then a more slimy, sinister voice hissed through the microphone. "Come on now, are't you pleased to see us? We can keep you here for as long as I live. How long you lie, however, will depend on your co-operation." The Seargent let a twisted grin spread across his muscular jaws to squeeze as much insolence into the statement as he could. He enjoyed watching his play things squirm, and Knuckles was an especially exquisite sample. The echidna, however, was determined not to give him a show. "Knuckles Echidna," he said clearly, his stoic face not even hinting at any sign of emotion. He was doing well so far. "Age?" "Twenty-three." The Sergeant turned off the dictaphone and rubbed his hands together. "Well, that's the pleasantries over and done with. Now it's my turn." Knuckles gave him a wary eye as the bulky figure strode towards him, moving around him in a slow, ominous circle. "Where exactly were you last night, my dear friend?" The Echidna shuddered at the thought of ever being this disgusting idiot's friend, but tried to keep his composure anyway. "I was at my fight club, then I walked home. Where you found me in my house was where I spent the entire night." "Oh, really?" A sardonic grin appeared across the Sergeant's face. "You happened to go via the river, didn't you? We have quite a few reliable sources who reported you being there at the time. What were you doing there?" "I was walking home." Knuckles spat, gritting his teeth. "Tell me, Mr Echidna... do you know a Mr Hedgehog?" "Only one. Sonic." "The same one who you put in hospital only yesterday? It doesn't seem like you're very friendly with them." "It was an accident and I didn't fucking murder anyone!" Knuckles tried to jump out of his seat, but the handcuffs bit into his wrists and forced him back down onto the hard wooden chair. "We'll be the judge of that, Knuckles. Remember who's pulling the strings here. Unless you co-operate with me I'll have you thrown in jail quicker than you can pull your finger out of your worthless ass." "You don't have anything on me, bastard. No matter what you try I'll get out, just like I did last time." The Sergeant's lips tightened in anger. Quick as a flash he drew his fist back and plunged it into the side of Knuckles' face, sending him and the chair crashing to the floor. The echidna hit the ground hard- his face and lips were bleeding, missing skin that had been ripped off by the concrete floor. "We have eyewitness accounts that testify to you being around the river at the time and you lugging something heavy around with you later in the evening. And believe me, I have connections in very high places. It doesn't take much... persuasion to get an accurate testimony against you." The Sergeant licked his teeth and cracked his knuckles as loudly as he could. Behind him the police officer gave a grim smile. Knuckles spat out a mouthful of blood, shaking with rage. "This is about a job, isn't it? What do you want?"

OB Geneology? A massive undertaking
Solo Tremaine replied to Roxie Faye's topic in General Discussion
Roxie, this is absolutely fantastic! Really innovative and nicely done ^_^ Much useful for the next chapter of Enter the Net, too *sneaky grin*. One thing about this version, though: the top and bottom have been slightly cut off. I don't suppose it matters much, but some of the names can't be seen at the extremes. Wow, I have six parent-in-laws, and OtakuSennen and Shinmaru are my grandparents-in-law, even though Shin is Syk3's (one of my father-in-laws) mistress o_o; This is going to lead to one serious case of inbreeding, heh. -
Yeah, CNX used to show Cowboy Bebop, along with movies like Blue Submarine No 6. That was fantastic. Even Sci-Fi went through a time of showing anime films late on Thursday night, but then they stopped even doing that. I really wanted to see Roujin Z... Even though we tend to get a poor cut of animes, the ones we do get tend to be uncut (well, the ones not butchered by the dubbing companies, anyway): both Evangelion and Outlaw Star were shown in their entireity (including the infamous Hot Springs Planet Tenrei episode) and nothing was cut out. The only instance I can remember was during an episode of NGE in which Misato's swearing was bleeped out, but that's hardly much, and when it was broadcast outside of SFX it was back in again. At least it's nice to know that whatever anime we do get is shown in the most whole form possible. The only place I know where I can get all of the available DVDs in the UK is Forbidden Planet in London. Virgin Megastores and HMV have half-decent selections, but they're still pretty poor in comparison. I didn't even know Fruits Basket was available until I went to FP a few months ago. Madness. And bad madness at that.

Rizel, it isn't hard to take notice of Moderator posts. Please add more detail to your replies- one sentence is not enough and is spam. I don't take kindly to being ignored and I will not hesitate to close the thread if people aren't prepared to put effort into their posts. Read the Rules.

Yami Marik, please try and add more detail to your posts, especially if you're intending to start a thread about a specific subject. Give examples of what the aforementioned anime creators have done and why you like them to give others an opening to actually discuss, for a start. Lists of good anime creators aren't good enough, unfortunately.
OMG!! Fooly Cooly All the way! i just cant get enuff of the Pillows!!!![/color'] oh, and of course, Cowboy Bebop.. and Inuyasha music.. geeze, so many... ^_^
Welcome to OtakuBoards, Hentai Isha ^_^. Please be aware that almost all short posts are considered to be spam (as stated in the Rules) unless they're able to make an incredibly good and valid point in a short space of time, and even then it would be pushing it. So adding as much detail as possible to future posts would be much appreciated. Not to mention it makes things more interesting for everyone else to read, heh.

There was a convention with anime in it somewhere in London, but I've no idea about its details. There are the odd trading card festivals, but nothing that apecifically revolves around anime yet. I just don't think there's that big a fanbase for it yet, if only because the UK stll gets a pitiful share of any market available. We don't even get boxed sets- I had to order the RahXephon movie from overseas >.> So for the moment I'm planning to go to Anime Expo 2005, and that'll have to do me. As for broadcasted animes, over time we've had a fair few been shown, but at any one time it's usually pretty bleak. Even Outlaw Star (which I really like) has been pushed to a 3:40am slot on Toonami, despite the fact that it's probably the best programme on there). So it doesn't look like there'll be much for a long time yet.
i agree its freaky cool and the plot is so bizzare that you would need to watch the whole sries seval times :luv:   :D
Please put more effort into your posts in future, anime_kitty. This is too short and its overall quality just isn't very acceptable. It doesn't even refer to a specific series, heh. Anime older men younger women relationships
Solo Tremaine replied to \Firestorm's topic in Otaku Central
I fail to see what this thread actually intends to discuss. Having lists and lists posted one after the other is regarded as spam on OB because there is no discursive value of what's being posted. And really, some of the age differences here aren't hugely staggering. If all the characters were the same age then things would get boring: the more interesting male characters tend to be a bit older, and the more interesting female characters tend to be of a more tender age. That's pretty much all there is to it. Thread closed, because I can't see this going anywhere, unfortunately. -
Anime Anime Club -- Sudden rise in popularity?
Solo Tremaine replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
i love inuyasha doesnt any one ever talk about inuyasha it rules i love anime
Yes, there's an Inuyasha thread in the forum- you just need to look for it. Please don't post unrelated replies to topics and try to add more detail where you can, please. This post is really far too short to comply with the Rules, which are essentil reading for all members here, new and old. -
I appreciate the thought you've put into this Morias, but unfortunately it's not the sort of thread that can go very far here. I haven't seen any of Rouroni Kenshin, but I'll take your word for it that he and Vash are very similar characters. And it's an interesting idea that Vash might be the reincarnation of Kenshin, but looking at the technicalities of it, since they're two independently created series then it's not got a huge basis in reality with regards to the actual series schematics. And since the thread's so specific to these two characters, if this stayed open then we'd need to have one every conceiveable pair of similar anime characters about. And considering the amount of animes, it makes for a whole lot of threads about not very much. Things like this have turned up hundreds of times in the past and they tend to generate circular arguments that don't end up going anywhere, but I must admit that this is the most detailed I've ever seen one, heh. Thread closed.
