2. Knuckles lay in his bed with his hands behind his head, trying to determine what the time wasd. Some wanker had broken in and stolen his alarm clock, of all things. Why fucking bother? They didn't find his stash of money, luckily, but he had lots of other things that could net a it more than a stupid clock. That was just inconvenient. He hauled himself upright, glancing quickly over at the piece of corrugated iron lying over the hole in the ceiling. It was shoddy, but would save him having to worry for the next couple of months at least. Sliding open the muddy bue curtain that separated his bedroom from the rest of his house, a dank grey lounge-cum-kitchen with weights and banches lining the walls (Knuckles half-expected his weights to drag down the walls at any moment), he lumbered towards the fridge and peered inside. "Fuck." He slammed the door, irritated that he'd forgotten to even stock up on high-sugar drinks to keep him fuelled during the day. His pocket change was getting low, as was the tolerance of his stomach for lack of food. Normally he could get away with threatening someone or convincing one of the reception girls to buy him a sandwich, but there was only so far he could push his luck. At that moment, three Station Square policemen burst through the door armed with truncheons, each bearing an expression as vicious as the last. Still sluggish from lack of sleep, Knuckles didn't have enough time to comprehend what was going on. After a few swift thumps from the blunt weapons, he fell to his knees, whereupon a bulkier figure strode in, wearing a 'Seargent' badge on his sickeningly proud chest. "Ah, Mr. Echidna. A pleasure, as always." "Fucking hell!" Knuckles hissed. "I should have known you'd be here sooner or later. Your god-awful aftershave gavce you away." "Now now, Knuckles, you're well aware of our history," the Seargent sneered. "I can assure you that this is completely unrelated." Knuckles raised an eyebrow. "As you may already know, a certain Hedgetech scientist was found drowned in the river early this morning by the warkers on the wharf. We have several witnesses who reported a person of your description lurking around the river at the sort of time his body may have been dumped. Almost needless to say, I jumped at the chance for us to renew our communications." "I didn't touch the guy, fuckhead! I'm clean!" One of the policemen cracked Knuckles around the back of the head. He wobbled forwards, dazed by the impact of the blow. "Perhaps. but I'm taking you in for questioning anyway. It'll be so much fun to catch up on old times, won't it?" The Seargent gave a disgusting, twisted smile as Knuckles glared at him defiantly from the floor, aching to rip the eyes from his fat, oliaginous face. The policemen grabbed the echidna as roughly as they could and hurled him into their nearby patrol car, before jumping in themselves and careening off towards the station.
3. Surprisingly, the RahXephon soundtrack left me pretty cold too- besides Hemisphere there are only one or two pieces of music that I really liked: The end credits of the final episode being one, and the piece of music that played
during Hiroko's death
. Other than that, even the rest of the songs didn't impress me very much. Trigun was the same to begin with, but after buying the soundtrack for my sister it really grew on me. I doubt RahXephon would do that for me. Recently I've become very attached to the Princess Mononoke, Big O, Samurai X and Fullmetal Alchemist soundtracks. Fullmetal Alchemist interested me because it was done with a full-scale orchestra; a lot of money must have been put into this if you consider the bands who created some of the songs. I'm really glad there's a 'Best of' themes for the series coming out soon, because it saves me shelling out for the singles separately- only two of the TV-sized themes were on the first OST, and they both ended rather abruptly.

JUSTICE!
Yeah, but don't play mod unless you are one. That's almost a surefire way of not becoming a Moderator, heh. The best thing you can do is Report a post, or tell someone if there's a serious case of spam going on. But most of the time we already know. It's also about whether there's a need to take on more Staff or not- it's not just a question of 'If you're good, we'll hire you', else we'd have far too many Mods already ^_^;.
5. Welcome to OtakuBoards, kanashii. There's a topic already open where you can discuss Full Metal Alchemist here. We really only allow one thread per specific anime in the Anime Lounge, so please be sure to check for existing threads before starting a new one, either by running a search of the forum or checking the Official Threads Directory at the top of the main forum display. Also, this post is too short to be starting off a topic with anyway- you need to add as much detail as possible abgout the series and try and make the post nice enough for other people to read (i.e. making full use of peoper punctuation and spelling). I'd suggest a quick look over the Rules. If you have any further questions, feel free to send a PM. Thread closed.
6. "I thought for a moment that you were settling another vendetta. What happened?" Knuckles' grim expression bored into the executive's mind, giving him the distinct impression that the Echidna wasn't up for talking much. "He's a guy I train with from time to time. He over-exerted himself on a fucked rib and collapsed. Not my fault." The executive leant forwards over his desk, revealing half his face in the dim office light. "Whether it was your fault or not, I don't want emergency services coming here unless there's a damn good reason. Some low-life hedgehog you dragged in is not an emergency. You're lucky the cops didn't come down here. if they had-" Knucles could feel the heat rising inside him. Just shut up and leave. Shut up, say nothing, and leave. "But they didn't, sir." Knuckles spat out the last word as if it were some foul-tasting drink Sonic had concocted. "It was an accident, and it won't happen again." The executive sat back in his chair, his expressionless face hidden by a veil of darkness. Knucles could tell that even the slightest hint of insubordination could land him in trouble. Right now, though, he really didn't care. "One more 'accident' and you're out, Echidna. I have many more star players waiting to take centre stage. You've been warned." Knucles stormed out of the room, slamming the door so hard the hinges burst through the wood, sending splinters flying everywhere. He marched down the stairs and onto the street, stopping inside only to pick up his jacket. * * * "Hey, looking for a good time?" Knuckles snorted in disgust. "With you, I don't think there'd ever be a good time." The hooker swore Knuckles into the distance- he smiled to himself all the while, amused that so small a statement could arouse so much emotion. Admittedly he was looking for a good time, but didn't know where to find it. He would say that he didn't care, but that wasn't actually true. He just wouldn't admit it to anyone. The railing by the river running behind Station Square provided a decent rest for him- he leant on its metal frame and stared into the mrky water, half-listening to the drunk, drug-fuelled or sex-orientated conversations going on behind him. The outlet pipe of the sewer plopped something large, bulky and probably very smelly into the river; the mass slowly bobbed downstream towards the canal routes. Knuckles watched it for a few seconds, then turned back to look at the ripples in front of him. He hadn't had a job through from the agency in months. Maybe his agent had been busted. Everyone around here was crooked- it was only a matter of time before someone even more crooked took over and wiped them out. At least he was clean... for the moment. He'd not touched steroids in ages, and he'd stopped dealing them long before that. But the money was running thin. Even the bus fare home was too expensive now. This way he got to savour the 'sights' of the city for a hour every morning and evening before turning up to train. "Shit, I need money bad," he groaned, remembering the gaping hole in his hovel's roof. Another mile and a half and he'd be able to see it, stuck on the very edge of the city's small, out-of-the-way ghetto that the council kept locked away from the tourists. He hadn't bothered with its upkeep, since as far as he was concerned, it was where he spent the least of his time. "Maybe I can steal a piece of iron from a skip somewhere..."

8.
Well, I think that should clear everything up. Goth with a capital G refers to a race of Germanic peoples, BTW.
I was going to say that, damn you! ^_~ Anyway, I buy a lot of things which you'd associate with Goths: Dragon posters, New Rock boots, black clothes, things with Tribal/Gothic designs on them, jewelry... and I tend to like rock music over other types of popular stuff (most of my collection is comprised of film soundtracks). I even have spiked hair. If that was how I described myself, people would instantly think I'm a 'Goth'. But I'm not, because I don't consider myself to be one. I've always said that trying to generalise groups of people is a stupid thing to do. Yeah, you can do it by what clothes people wear, but the values and other various aspects of those people mean that not every one of them is the same thing, so trying to define what a 'True Goth' is is pointless. You'd have Satanic 'goths', Wiccan 'goths' and 'goths' that really don't give a damn about the music or religion and just like the clothes. Does that mean that if you aren't a Wiccan or don't like heavy rock then you aren't a Goth? I think people should be allowed to be whatever they want to consider themselves to be and not worry about how other people label them.
9. Sonic was drunk off his arse, but that didn't matter. Physical exercise would usually get him back to his old self. Knuckles used it as a form of therapy- both with inanimate and live targets of his aggression. He pulled on his custom-made boxing gloves, flexing his fingers underneath the black studded leather and feeling the tension in his uscles shoot up his arm. He'd been working out... and was pleased. Sonic, on the other hand, looked as if he'd been working down. Although hardly a fat slob, he wasn't in a healthy state of body or mind; despite Knuckles' general indifference towards the hedgehog it did fill him with a mild concern for his well-being. Were he not so tightly bound to his kickboxing appearances and various 'part-time' jobs, he'd be inclined to offer Sonic a room. But then, more than five minutes with anyone was usually too much for the Echidna. "You ready?" Knuckles was already striding around the arena, eager to get moving. Sonic wavered slightly, pulling the safety helmet down over his face and half-heartedly tieing it up underneath his chin. "Just a second." Sonic winced, remembering the large bruise on his chest. Knuckles let out a derisive grunt. "Gee, you want me to fetch the nurse? She can wipe the drool off your face while she's at it." "Fuck off, Knuckles! I could take you in my sleep." Knuckles grinned slyly. "That's the stuff. Come on, then!" A large punchbag hung in the middle of the arena- Knuckles had been practicing with it before setting out to find Sonic, but left it there for entertainment purposes. It was always useful to have an obstacle to chuck people into. They circled each other for a few tense seconds, each one marking the movements of the other prefectly. Knuckles knew who'd win, though. Although it was only a practice fight, he didn't pull any punches. After all, it wasn't as if real opponents waited for you to get your head off the ground before kicking you in the face, was it? "Are you gonna hit me or not?" Knuckles taunted, half-laughing. He was answered by a swift jab in the face- the red-skinned Echidna had cockily opted without the safety headgear, and was taken unaware of the force at which the half-drunk hedgehog was able to hit. He reeled back slightly and drew back his fist, throwing it forwards for it to be met by a block from Sonic's left arm. Although it was blocked, the force still sent a shockwave of pain travelling down Sonic's arm. He gritted his teeth, forcing his mouth into a wry smile, before returning the favour, hitting Knuckles in the stomach. "I thought you were good at this!" Sonic snorted. Knuckles drew back, giving Sonic an obscene gesture before charging into him, knocking the both of them to the floor. "Just going easy on my bitch, hedgehog."
10. September 6th, 1:44pm Sabre deliberated over what his topic should be for the assignment. Villain Ethics felt like it had melted his brain to porridge. Tapping his pen idly on the desk in front of him, he ran through the things he could think of that he wouldn't mind everyone else knowing he 'loved'. But there were few things he held in such high regard anyway. Love/Hate was a definite candidate, but his credibility would be completely shattered (even moreso) if he told anyone- Soushi was already under strict orders not to say anything in return for being allowed to sneak in every now and again without complaint. His mind wandered to those around him, carefully avoiding any thoughts containing or anywhere nearby to Gina, who kept eyeing him up from behind Professor Wu-Fan's desk. Very slowly, he started scrawling across the paper in his bulky, scruffy handwriting. "Why I love..." Then he stopped and twisted the pen through his fingers for a few seconds, stuck. He rested on his elbows, leaning on the squaky-clean desk with a sigh. He stared deeply into the paper, as if it were about to reveal the answer to him from its square, ex-tree pulp body. He continued his venture with a 'to', bringing his total worksum so far to four words. He glanced up to see where the Professor was in order to ask what kind of topics would be accepted, but instead unintentionally caught the gaze of Gina. In a snap he looked away and started furiously scribbling on the page, trying to look inconspicuous. "Why I love to hate things." it now read. Sabre let out a growl of satisfaction. He had found his topic. Now to lie back and procrastinate for a few minutes until he could think of a decent reason why he liked to hate things...
11. Generally, I don't use the speech marks when putting in the link- it's always worked for me. I seem to remember there was a problem a while ago involving links and speechmarks, but whether that was rectified or not I can't remember.

13.
The show, however, was not that spectacular. It wasn't genius, no matter how many people try to defend it as being so. It was just stream of thought story that was completely objectionable. I think Evangelion is the same and think it is just, on a whole, a good series. It most definitely is not a GREAT one, like so many people claim.
If it didn't have the controversial ending, I'm not really sure how much of an impact it would have made (but then, I don't know much about the shw's receipt and background). Whenever it's advertised, I hear it as being the anime with 'the most controversial ending ever', but the rest of the series isn't given much of a notice. I liked it, but I didn't think it was good enough for me to buy the collection on DVD. But what you're stating is opinion, not fact. People are allowed to think it's genius, you know, even if you might not agree with it ^_~ I think the only person who can say they really truly understand the ending is Hideaki Anno. Anything else is just theory. And I quite like that, in a way. The interpretation I read into the last two episodes of Evangelion is one I rather like, and it does provide a lot of thought and perspective on certain things in life. While I didn't understand exactly what was meant to be going on in the context of the series, I listened, watched and enjoyed it all the same. Personally, one of the animes I think is fairly overrated is Gundam Wing. maybe it's because I've not seen any of the other Gundam series, or maybe it's because I've never actually seen GW in its entirety from beginning to end, but the whole thing moved far too slowly in my opinion. And even after watching some of the episodes three times I still had no idea who was on who's side and what the hell Oz was was supposed to be. Endless Waltz wasn't as complicated, and I enjoyed that more than the actual series because I didn't have to try and work out the character's political siding before working out who I should be supporting. I don't watch anime simply to cheer on the good guys, but if you can't grab the concept of the plot it does make viewing rather difficult. That might just be me being dense, though.
14. I deleted the first post you attached that to because posting erroneous images in unrelated topics is against the rules- you need to find a proper image hosting site to use it rather than use up OB's bandwidth. That might have had something to do with it. Having just looked at your site, it seems to be working fine. But here isn't where you should be hosting it from, anyway.
15.
Um...probably 6. I don't really know though. It was when DBZ wasn't all reruns...
Welcome to OtakuBoards, Kairi37. 17. I'm rather interested to know whether the 'I' in the poem is male or female- it seems it could equally apply to either. But anyway, this is very well written. There are bits that just come off as tasteless: "Do you like anal?" being one of the bits that really puts me off any kind of sensitivity being read into it, but the rest is nicely done. I've always thought that less is more when it comes to sex scenes/poems, so it's nice that this is graphic more in its implications than its actual text. Reading back over it again I guess I have mixed feelings about it, although I am actually impressed overall. I like the more cryptic bits of it where the emotions and inner processes are described more than the more graphic 'positioning' lines. But that in itself is quite indicative of sex, though- it has the sensitive, loving side to it, and it has a rather more brutal, almost disgusting edge too. It's very effective, but there's the odd phrase or two that stops it from being erotic, in my mind. I'm a prude, though.
18. I love the opening and ending themes to Final Fantasy: Unlimited. Over the Fantasy and VIVID are fantastic to listen to, even though the series wasn't entirely amazing. There's just something about them that's... better than your average song, you know? The .hack//SIGN songs are great to listen to, as well. I like the style that Emily Bindiger sings in- In the Land of Twighlight, Under the Moon is my favourite there. The Zoids, Evangelion and Outlaw Star songs are good too, except Aisha's character theme (on the first OST). That's one track I skip every single time. From what I have of the Fullmetal Alchemist songs they seem really cool, but the TV edits are cut too short for my liking >.>
19. I've been using eBay for years and I don't think I've had any problems with it when I've won auctions. The only problems I have had have been through selling- some people have a habit of bidding and not paying for things, which is awkward because it means I have to re-list it once I'm sure they're actually not going to pay up. But then, if they do, it's their tough luck. I know there have been problems, though- some people are incredibly unreliable, and really all you need to do is check their feedback and see if others have had problems. Another thing to do is check where they're sending it from- if you don't specify a shipping type, it can be shipped ground mail which, to other countries, can take 6-8 weeks. And there's the added pothole of some country's postal systems being disgustingly shoddy. So it might not be their fault. I've been lucky so far in that out of the many internet orders I've made, I've only lost two packages, one of which was replaced fairly quickly. It takes time building up experiences with who's best, but it becomes easier to work out the reputable ones from the bad eggs.
20. Considering the speed at which the RPG's currently moving at, I'm giving people free rein to do what they want with relation to classes, so long as the times are displayed at the top of people's posts. But, as I said I would do earlier, I have a list of subjects and wat they entail: Villain Ethics: The study of villains, their theories, history and practical applications thereof. Includes units on 'What makes a Villain?' and 'Famous Villain Victories'. This course also involves how to create evil plans. Principal Okari's subject of choice- he created it himself and is determined that in three years' time, every single student in the school will be following this as their primary subject. Physical Education: Education, physical style. Quite a no-brainer, this involves classes (often divided into male and female- the boys are given some subsidiary teacher while Master Ooguchi takes the females off for intensive training) in which students play sports. Anything goes, pretty much. Hair and Beauty: Anime Stereotypes (i.e. 'Unusual Students') have anime hair, and in order to keep it in perfect condition, there have to be specialists who can shape it into a very specific, elaborate style. people who study this are either interested in becoming hairdressers, or simply want to take care of their perfect hairstyles. Creative Writing: Exactly what it says it is. Considering the nature of a lot of the students in the Academy, this class was created as a way of passifying some of the more aggressive students into venting theirfrustrations through a different medium than blowing things up. It's become highly successful. Transformation: Some students wish to be able to harness the ability to Transform into other beings, either become stronger humans ot turn into some weird creature, and this helps them gain the knowledge and understand the processes behind it. Practical transformations don't begin until all students have undergone a series of assessments to determine whether they're physically and mentally ready to undergo the rigorous practical activities in the second term. Counselling: The Academy is legally bound to provide its students with counselling, but since many counsellers have been... less than successful with their jobs, this class give others the chance to help their fellow peers by helping them train in therapy. This class runs in conjunction with the actual Student Counselling service- lessons are often case studies in which a particular student is invited in to talk to the class about their problems and the class in turn offers suggestions as to what the problem might be and ways to cope. Geography: Self-explanatory, pretty much. Like what you'd expect from a normal Geography class, except there's an added module on how the Earth's geography compares to that of the neighbouring planets/alternative dimensions. And they are there, as many unusual students can attest to. Bishieology: A specialised branch of Psychology merged with Media Studies with particular interest in people classes as Bishies. This was brought to the Academy by an extremely hyperactive female teacher (who shortly disappeared in a freak bathroom incident), and although it's regarded as a doss subject, it remains incredibly popular throughout the school. Principal Okari dislkies it heavily, claiming it't too 'cute' to be on the School Register. Nobody listens to him, though, as the students all get to ogle mech pilots. Monster Control w/ Applied Spirit Taming: Monster partners are (or were) incredibly prolific around the area of the Academy, so it was decided that the students who owned one (and the monsters who owned the students) should learn how to co-operate with one another and learn the most effective caretaking techniques, including deviations on child-raising theories by Piaget. Unfortunately over the years the number of monster/partner students in the Academy has fallen dramatically, so it's thought this class may not be running by next year. It also includes how to befriend, summon, tame and capture Spirit Beasts, which often unwittingly twin themselves with students lost in the woods at night and have no way of leaving them until some quest or another is fulfiled. Metalwork and Forgery: The creation and manufacture of weapons and armour in the Academy's workshops. Students are taken through a design process; including market research, ergonomic vs practical application, initial design, prototype testing and design refinement to end up with a piece of equipment suitable for a mass market or specific target buyer. Engineering: Similar to Metalwork and Forgery- it contains a unit for designing Mechanised systems, but mainly focuses on the repair and study of Mechs and other assorted vehicles. History: Includes a section on the period after the destruction of the world, and the planet's subsequent recovery. Maths: There are very few students who enjoy Maths classes. The teacher's rumoured to be at least 5,000 years old. Use of Oversized Weapons: While PE covers sport in general, this gives Metalwork students the chance to use their own designed weaponary in a practical battle setting. This teaches students balance, battle technique and how to minimise self-injury. English: The study of the English Language. Japanese: The study of the Japanese Language. Magic Casting: The history, theory and practical application of magic casting. It includes classes on basic essential spells and technique regulation. Extra Sports: For those who can't suffer enough PE, this is more of it. In thish class, though, students often get to choose whcih physical activity they wish to partake in for a few weeks, and then get the chance to do it if Master Ooguchi feels like it. Hero Ethics: The study of heroes, their theroies and their psychology. Includes units such as 'What Makes a Hero?' and 'Anti-Hero Psychology'. Kendo: A single kendo class set aside in lieu of a particular student's ability to massacre anyone when he takes hold of a sword. A series of one-on-one lessons taught by a poltergeist, as it's the only way someone won't get incredibly hurt. Mech Combat: On Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, the Mech fields are set aside for Ouroborous to teach students how to pilot mechs effectively and the applied physics behind their proper functioning, including sections on Mech repair. it's just occured to me that I never included a Science subject. Bugger. Anyway, they are the lessons. There are also various afterschool clubs, including Combined Cadet Force (Monday), Drama (Tuesday), Games Club (Thursday), Cookery (Friday), Sports Team Try-outs (Saturday).

23. Welcome to the Boards, SpikeLivesON. Please be aware that we only tend to allow one thread per specific anime, so you'd need to search for existing threads on Cowboy Bebop before starting a new one, either by looking in the Threads Directory or running a Search of the forum itself. Try and make sure to use proper punctuation where you can (i.e. capital letters)- post quality is very importat on OB, so you have to take care to present yourself well. It just looks nicer as well, heh. If you have any questions, take a look though the FAQ and Rules pages (on the sidebar to the left), or PM a Moderator of your choice. Thread closed.
24. Cool stuff, heh. I can't go into great detail about writing style at the moment, as I'm incredibltired. But I've always liked your stuff anyway. The only thing I'd be wary of is repetitiveness with regards to how things are presented. Since it's a Duel by name, it stands to reason that it should be presented in a very action-esque way. But keeping that same sort of voice throughout the entire thing could wear down its effectiveness towards the end, where you really want to be building up to something. Recounting duels can be pretty laborious anyway because they can be fairly convoluted but in a really linear way, but this still kept me interested. I was wondering how long it'd take you to get rid of him, heh. And it looks like he didn't cheat, either. Although he gets away with some pretty impressive moves there. That last lines are the best, though ^____^ They made me laugh considerably.
25. I'm not generally a fan of war sims, although I'll like first-person shooters in general if they're decent enough. I have reservations about war ones though, because the fictional element of it is almost lost. At least with a sci-fi based things you can suspend your feeling of reality for a bit, but some of these games are so gritty and realistic I just don't enjoy them for that very reason. One thing I saw today put me off the genre even more, though- the PlayStation 2 version of 'America's Top Ten Most Wanted List' shoot-em-up. Please.
