Anime Ending that makes you want to strangle the director
Solo Tremaine replied to Okita's topic in Otaku Central
Please stop arguing. It's pointless and against the site Rules- any further arguments could result in a formal warning. Speaking of which; please watch the length and quality of some of your posts, Dave- a few are borderline spam and I've been close to deleting them. -
I think it is just a WarGreymon, with reflective armour. I'm suprised there's no Imperialdra there, as he managed to steal the limelight at amost every oppounity in Season 2... I'm a little dubious with regards to the CGI. The stuff they had during the digivolutions in Tamers wasn't very inspiring, and this looks pretty similar. But if it's to be a feature-length production I'm sure they'd smooth it all out. I'll go and see it regardless, I think, but I hope the plot remains what it should be for the US/UK release.

Interesting stuff ^_^ Name: Kyruo Lleyandi Nickname: Kyruo Age: 18 Gender: Male Species: Red fox Appearance - Human: Kyruo has long red hair, held up in semi-spikes by a deep blue bandanna. His eyes are a deep dark green that many say seem to sparkle in the light. He is of slender build and tends to wear black jeans, a white T-Shirt with black arms and a fox symbol on the front, and a dark sleeveless jacket. Around his wrists, he wears black leather bracers. Animal: As a normal fox, except with purple 'Tribal'-style tattoos running over his entire body, intricately hand-dyed. War Form: A slender, humanoid fox, Kyru retains the markings he has from his animal mode. His body is fairly weak- he doesn't train often, but he is incredibly flexible and agile, being able to run fast and slip into uncannily small spaces. Personality: Kyruo tends to remain aloof from a the rest of the world. not often though choice, though- he was bullied often when he was younger because of his thin frame and high-pitched voice. Altough he likes helping others where he can, he resents himself as a person and retains a very melancholic air about himself even when having fun. He is highly intelligent, and enjoys art, producing one or two paintings every day- one of the reasons he dyed his fur so painstakingly was in the hope of making himself look more attractive to members of his own race, but he's not managed to find any yet, so also fears that was a mistake on his part. Once transformed, he gains a sense of freedom that he rarely feels, and in war mode he is filled with a passion for action. Bio: Kyruo was transferred into a boarding school at a very early age, not really understanding why or getting to know his parents. Once there, he was bullied as a runt and started to believe that he really wasn't even worth the effort the bullies made to insult him. He gained a love for art at the school, since the art teacher was one of the few who actually tried stopping the bullies from doing anything to him. It didn't save his troubles, though- his paintings were often smashed on a regular basis, until one day in particular. He'd been working on a painting he thought of in a dream. he couldn't understand why he wanted to paint it, but he wanted to. He felt it would explain something about himself. He called it 'Mother', and showed a picture of a female fox-person. When the other kids caught sight of it, they immediately started kicking him, calling him an 'insane weirdo', and completely 'f***ed-up in the head'. They took the painting and smashed it over a stool. Kyro doesn't remember exactly what happened- he blacked out soon afterwards, but woke up to find himself in the hospital room, surrounded by doctors, nurses and photographers. When he asked what had happened, his art teacher had said that someone had gone on a bloody rampage inside the room, killing everyone inside except him. The murderer was never found. He was lucky to be alive, they said. Since then, he has kept himself away from violent crouds and stayed only with people with quiet dispositions, afraid that something might set him off again. Although he has transformed since, it has only ever been when he's alone. He moved to Sakura Falls High only recently, hoping to gain a fresh start in life. Living on his own, he has rented a flat and works in an art shop near the centre of the town.

Well, this is (kind of) what a lot of people have been waiting for- a new Digimon project.
Translated by Megchan: Translation of press release on GameWatch by Megchan: Bandai to Start New "Digital Monster" Project Developing a Full Length CG Anime and Game Soft for 2005 Bandai has announced a new project with their "Digital Monster" characters. At the project's core will be "Digital Monster X-evolution", a new anime released in 2005. "Digital Monster X-evolution" is a full length animation done entirely in CG. The creators include Kakudou Hiroyuki (director of the TV series "Digimon Adventure" and "Digimon Adventure 02") as director, and Itou Kazunori, who worked on "Gamera" and ".hack", and Kawasaki Miwa, who was in charge of the novelization of ".hack" and the script for "Air Master", as scriptwriters. Done entirely in CG, it will concentrate on the "digital" part of "Digimon". Along with this new animation, there will be new games, cards, figures, etc. Nothing concrete has been revealed yet about these products, but a game based on "X-evolution" will likely be released sometime in 2005.

From Bandai's press release: A virtual world was created by the present-day network called the "Digital World". The "Digital Monster", which is a digital life object, was born, and the host computer Yggdrasil managed the different Digital World areas. However, it developed the X Program of fear to eliminate all Digimon in the old world and develop a new Digital World for only certain Digimon... Now, the greatest crisis ever approaches the Digital World!!
Here are a few tasty images for you- The story's a little sketchy at best, but it's said to focus more on the 'Digital' side of the series' reality. I've no idea whether it'll have any connection to the previous four seasons or not. He looks pretty cute, heh. What do you think? Too little too late, or enough to get things rolling again?

Anime Divorce Court: Worst Anime Couples!
Solo Tremaine replied to MillieFan's topic in Otaku Central
As many replies as this thread is getting, I feel it ought to be closed now. Not only was the original over a year old when it was revived, the replies in it since on the whole have been pretty average, and a lot have even been below that. I apologise to those who were doing their best to create intelligent discussion, but roundabout arguments about Kaoru and Kenshin that go nowhere really aren't worth keeping up. Thread closed. -
Anime Who is the best anime character, in your opinon?
Solo Tremaine replied to King Vicious 2's topic in Otaku Central
Lord Raizen, please put more effort into future posts- I know the subject doesn't leave a huge amount to answer, but you could at leas say why he's your favourite character. -
Alaris stymbled backwards, barely able to keep his balance as the moderately-sized scorpion crawled towards him. His sword tapped the ground in front of him- the muscles in his arms burned as he tried moving them. His fingers felt numb, hardly able to grip the handle of the sword. The scorpion lashed its tail at him, narrowly missing his shoulder thanks to a dazed slip into the wall. "Get it together, you idiot!" he screamed at himself. Taking a deep breath, he lunged forwards. the end of the blade pierced through two plates of the scorpion's exo-skeleton and hit the rock on the other side. Green ooze spilt from the creature's body; some spurted stickily onto Alaris' armour. Its mandibles twitched open, its eyes staring up at him with desperate malice. The claws' movements slowly began to die down. Alaris spit a mouthful of his own blood onto the creature's dying body, then wrenched his sword free. "Wretched creature." he hissed, hauling himself towards the Capital. With each step he took, his body ached a little more but his mind became clearer. His movements, although pained, were less sluggish. It had to be an after-effect of slamming himself in the head. He thanked his ancestors for giving him a hard enough head to withstand it. He gingerly ran a finger across his brow- it was swelling, and the boney plate had cracked. Brain damage? Heh, it wouldn't affect someone like him much. He didn't have that much brain to lose. "Come off it, Alaris, you're better than that..." he muttered, whirling around a corner. In the distance, he could see crystal veins creeping along the walls. He was almost there...

Welcome to OtakuBoards, smokey7000 ^_^ Unfortunately we don't allow Introductory threads at OB any more, and if they were they probably wouldn't be in the Anime Lounge, heh. Be sure to read OB's Rules and FAQ pages, and if you have any further questions feel free to PM me or any other member of Staff. Have fun!

I think this subject fits quite well into the "who is the most annoying anime character?" thread. I don't think we really need another one like this, especially as the subject doesn't lend itself to fantastically intelligent discussion. And smokey, I understand that you're new but please don't post replies which are unrelated to the topic at hand- it's spam. Certainly under OB Rules, it is. Thread closed.

Pokemon is an anime, yes... But please don't start threads with so little detail. if you want to start a thread about Pokemon you're welcome to, but please include more detail on the series, plot, characters and your own views to give everyone else something to discuss. I've a similar problem, although neither of the two quizzes will display either (they're both the same one- I tried uploading it again to see if that would rectify it, but I just doubled the problem). I don't particularly want them up anyway, but I can't delete or do anything with them. It's rather odd, because the other two behave fine.

I'm afraid I've had to remove a few of the links in accordance with OtakuBoards' Rules, but if you want to advertise either of the sites (Save-Big-O.com or Konaka's homepage) you're more than welcome to put them in your Signature. That way, people can see the link whenever you post, but it's not intrusive advertising. I'd have to agree that the way Adult Swim seems to be handling this is rather offensive. I'm just glad I live in the UK...

Anime Favorite Anime Phrase/Saying and why??
Solo Tremaine replied to Hayashi Hansuke's topic in Otaku Central
This thread should be for discussing your favourite quotes, not just for posting short, spammy transcripts from animes. If the posts continue to be of bad enough quality, I'll close the thread. It's happened before, and I've no doubt it'll happen again. Keep it intelligent, please. -
Natetron, I've had to warn you several times about your post quality- please put more thought and effort into them. I don't want warn you again.

Anime Anime that need a sequel/continuation
Solo Tremaine replied to 5th Hokage's topic in Otaku Central
Bebop Should Have I Got mad At The Ending
Welcome to OtakuBoards, BountyHeadEd. I know you're new to OB, but please put more thought and effort into your posts in the future. This, being so short, is a spam post and I've hence deleted it. Try not to use capital letters at the beginning of each word- it's not only bad grammar, it's also fairly annoying. I suggest you take a look at the Rules, and if you have any questions feel free to PM me or any other member of Staff. -
Anime Anime that need a sequel/continuation
Solo Tremaine replied to 5th Hokage's topic in Otaku Central
I really don't think there'd be much more mileage in Trigun, save for revealing the histories of the Plants and Gung-Ho Guns, but on their own they wouldn't provide a huge basis for a whole second season. We've seen Vash go as far as he can go:
He said he would look to his own words for advice, which I take to mean that he'd continue to do things in almost the same way as he has done throughout the series already, which would make for rather boring repetition of adventures. The hinted-at love between him and Meryl wouldn't take long to bring out, and once it has then it's lost the tension. The only other thing would be sonthing involving Millie, but since Wolfwood didn't make it to the end she's left on her own. She doesn't have enough of a backstory to fill a season.
I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see another season of it, but I just doubt it'd work. The same goes for Outlaw Star. It'd be hard to create an entirely new story with no character mysteries left to unravel. There isn't much bigger a climax you can get than fighting against the
biggest power in the universe- Hazanko and the Galactic Leyline
. Angel Links was the spin-off of Outlaw Star, starring Duuz and Valeria from the security ship. I think that's the best you'd get in terms of a sequel for that. -
Anime Anime that need a sequel/continuation
Solo Tremaine replied to 5th Hokage's topic in Otaku Central
The problem with trying to get second seasons of animes that have already finished is just that: they are finished, usually with most of their plotlines completely tied up as far as they can go- trying to stretch them out any further would make them less enjoyable than the first. As much as it might be nice to see those characters again, wouldn't you rather remember and watch a decent story over and over again then get fed up with them because they're in a new, mediochre plot? Granted, not all sequels are necessarily like that, but I like the ambiguity that some animes end. Trigun, for instance, had a fantastic ending. I'd be interested in seeing what happened next because I like the characters so much, but when it comes down to it, I wouldn't want to ruin what was a fantastic series by having something incongruous or just plain bad at the end. The Nadesico: Prince of Darkness movie is a decent example of a sequel that doesn't quite work, and with the way the movie was done it puts a slightly nastier edge to the original series, which isn't something I enjoy watching it with. And yes, you should really put more detail into your posts 5th Hokage. Especially if you're starting a thread. -
It's odd that even though I've been here two years as of June 6th, I still feel somewhat of an outsider to OB at times ^_^; I missed a lot of colourful history, joining during version 4 or 5 (I can't really remember which). I've grown a lot, though, as have the Boards. I remembered the Digimon forum as it used to be- for ages after I joined it remained a really prosperous forum, but over time (and probably thanks to Fox Kids/ABC mucking schedules about and not broadcasting Season 4 to the UK), the whole thing fell apart a bit. It was a great shame, because that's where I've replied to some of my favourite topics. I go back and read them again from time to time, heh. Becoming a Moderator was definately a Precious Moment. I was high for ages. An then there's the first thread closure, first post edit, blahdiblah... I loved Moderating the Yu-Gi-Oh forum, but certain people did make life difficult for me. Altron Gundam being banned was quite a relief, despite the fact that he could be helpful and was an alright guy. But I kept losing respect for him every time he'd lash out. And he came back again to do exactly the same thing over and over again. Six times >.> I developed who I'd consider my first OB nemesis, too- Kaizer_boy. He didn't last long, thankfully. Incredibly irritating person to me and pretty much everyone else. My first RPG was fun, although it didn't manage to get as far as it was supposed to (they never seem to, though). Digimon, In The Real World?!?!?, or something like that. Ginny, Sara and Shy all joined up too, although it fell apart after seven pages, the last four of which became incredibly confusing. Sage's Digimon Masters RPG was fantastic stuff- the first one I've been in that actually finished properly, and it was terriffically written to boot. OtakuBards Big Brother II was hilarious all the way through, and a few of the jokes in it still get thrown around from time to time. DeathKnight was well deserving of the victory, heh. Although all of the last group could have taken it just as equally. Coming back to OB after the month-long upgrade two years ago was nice; shiney new Boards where I didn't have to worry about getting 500 posts to have a custom avatar or anything like that. It was still nice building up posts to change your titles, though. I think the most I got to was 'Member' before becoming a Moderator. I'd still only be an 'Otaku' at the moment, I think. Whenever you progressed to a new 'level' as it were, you felt kind of euphoric for a while then got straight back to posting wondering how long it'd take you to get to the next one. 'Course, now we can type whatever we want up there, heh... EDIT: The 300 Foot Potato, legacy of the chats I used to get into with Dan L (formerly Deus Ex Machina) and Red (formerly Elite). Those were fantastic...

Posting lyrics is all very well, but it doesn't give much to actually discuss. You've not actually given any reason why you like the song or what it is about it that makes it good as a theme for the actual series. Reading through pages and pages of lyrics can get pretty tiresome. I seriously doubt much discussion can come from this. There's a thread already open where you can discuss anime music anyway- themes and songs are included in that too. Thread closed

Welcome to OtakuBoards, heh. In case you have't checked our Rules already, threads created strictly for advertising aren't allowed on the Boards, so I'm going to have to close the thread. If you want to advertise another forum or your own website, you can do so in your Signature. Favourites/Best/Worst threads generally aren't allowed either- although we have one thread already dedicated to best animes, one at a time is definately enough. They have a tendency to lead to below-average replies and more often than not aren't worth keeping to see what happens. That's the short of it. If you have any questins, please check the Rules and FAQ pages or feel free to send me or any other member of OB Staff a private message. Thread closed.

5th Hokage, please put more thought and effort into your posts. One-line posts are spam at OtakuBoards. Try and add as much detasil as you can, and watch your punctuation. Capital letters and full stops are a must if you plan on staying for a long time, heh. Reading long run-on sentences does get rather annoying.
I was about 8 I started on dbz and it just grew from there
Please add more detail to your posts, 5th Hokage. This is spam. I understand that you're newly arrived and I don't want you to feel I'm taking it out solely on you, but this is getting to be a serious problem. The thread in question doesn't give a lot to answer, but putting in as much detail as possible would be nice, not to mention within OtakuBoards' Rules. I would like to ask everyone to please always take note of Moderators' messages, because they may well apply to you. I don't think I, Dagger, Piro or Asuka want to have to edit every other reply in a thread because other people just aren't paying attention. If this or any other thread continues to gather numerous amounts of sub-par replies, they will be closed. -
