Please put a lot more thought and effort into your future posts. Use proper grammar and at least post something interesting to read. As this is, it's incoherent and pointless. I suggest you take a look at the OtakuBoards Rules before going any further.

No, that's not true at all. There are plenty of Digimon fans about, but no threads have yet been started in the Anime Lounge about it. You can tell from the Digimon section in the Anime Archives just how huge the fanbase was., and by the number of Digimon RPGs in the Adventure Arena. In future though, if you want to start a thread about a specific anime, please put a bit more detail into your first post. A bit about the series, which season you liked, etc. Scope for actual discussion, you know? This won't cut it on its own. But since it is the first thread made about Digimon in here I'll get the thing started. Digimon, as many people misappropriate, were actually on the scene before Pokemon was. Although the anime came at the same time and very much rode on the success of Pokemon, I can't help but feel this didn't get the press it deserved up against Nintendo's huge marketing franchise, especially as even the worst series was much better than any Pokemon episodes. Rather than have both the creatures and humans in the same world, Digimon come from a different world (a Digital one) where the battles actually mean something, rather than just fighting for the sake of fighting. Children are invariably transported to these worlds to help the creatures battle with evil beings that are trying to jepordise the future of both planets. My favourite season was the third: Digimon Tamers. Even though the characters were different to those well-established in Seasons 1 and 2, the level of character development was amazing and the story was far more complex. The character stereotypes were far less obvious, which was a welcome retreat from the almost-but-not-quite predictable first two seasons.

*cracks knuckles* Right, let's get this ball rolling again. Sorry guys for taking so long- things have been really busy at this end. And they still are really, but at least this way I know I'll get something done. And it's a long one. Be warned. ------------------------------------ "Sir, they've all moved together. Shall I proceed anyway?" "We haven't any time left. If we don't start bringing people now we'll never be able to get any kind of support. Do it." Digmon took a deep breath, then gave a drills-up signal to the digimon around the cave. Each immediately started jabbing buttons and pulling levers- the two structures in the centre of the room began to glow and pulsate slowly; the low rumbling of machinery grinding into action echoed throughout the caves. She took hold of the large black switch on the control panel in front of her and anxiously began counting down. "5..." * * * Fladramon looked apprehensively at the newcomers. Humans... and digimon as well? What did they want? Well, they hadn't yet attacked them, so they must be at least friendly enough to try and communicate with. "4..." As Fladramon tried to raise himself to his feet to address the strangers, the ground about them began to vibrate. Strange sparks of energy flicked about the concrete floor, and the building began to shake. A high-pitched screaming noise filled the air. "3..." Plaster flew off the already half-destroyed walls; the energy bursts became more violent. Tera and Kira fell to their knees, Aquilamon and Renamon running to their sides. "We have to get out of here!" Andromon yelled. "2... 1..." Fladramon felt a tug on his arm- Gatomon was pointing at his bag- she shouted something, but the screaming drowned out her words. He looked inside- his digivice was shaking violently and glowing a brilliant white. As he reached out to touch it- "Zero..." Everything around them turned to a bright white- the building disappeared. It felt as if Fladramon's body was being pulled in every direction at once, twisting and turning, flying and falling in every movement. He looked around for the others, but whenever he moved all he did was serve to make things look more blurry. In the distance (or what he could interpret to be the distance), he saw a dark shape hurtling towards him. It was accelerating very rapidly. It hit him with a huge 'thud'; the shock of the impact sent him into a daze, and the last thing he saw before he blacked out was a worried Digimon face looking down on him... * * * The window overlooking the ballistics range was barely transparent due to the dust and soot that had collected on the window's other side. A huge figure stood watching the tests and trials, finding his solice in the dull echoing boom of the explosions, and the light of the fires that billowed from the targets. In every light, every smoke cloud he saw visions. Some of death, some of victory. He played the visions gaainst each other and constantly weighed up his odds, deciding on how his plan should be carried out- what it was God's will for him to do. The messages were blurred, often contradictory. But there was no mistaking the path he had to walk. The door slid open behind him. He stayed unmoving, watching the guns break their way through endless sheets of concrete, wrecked vehicles and Digital remains. "What?" the General growled. "Sir, we've recieved the report about the technology found abord the Data Hunters' vehicle. It's incredibly powerful. We can't put a trace on where it came from." "It's obviously a custom design. Does it work?" "What do you mean, sir?" "Does it work?" The general raised his voice to a hoarse shout. "It-it fires, sir. But there's no way of reproducing it with our methods. If we took it apart we may never get it working again." The General watched in satisfaction as a missile decimated a small hut standing a few hundred feet away from the window. "Bring the captured Hunters up to me for interrogation. A gift such as this is a blessing. We must find the best way to rid this land of the Devil's creations." "Sir." * * * Drip. Stupid water. Why did he always fall alseep underneath these bloody things? Splodge. Oh yuk... that wasn't water. What... "OW!" Fladramon sat bolt upright, seething at the pain in his side. He forced his eyes open and looked around. Sat on the floor was a small, rather startled Opossummon, who looked back at Fladramon with an embarrassed look of surprise. Next to it was a half-full bottle of water and a pot of some odd orange-coloured balm. "Oh me, I'm sorry sir! I didn't mean to hurt you. But it's good to see you're awake." Fladramon rubbed his eyes, trying to rid himself of the blurriness that surrounded his central vision. "Where am I?" he gurgled. "Oh, you're in our little home. We're doing alright here, but you came in in quite a state, I must say. Oh." Fladramon looked around him. Beds lay in rows stretching into the dimly-lit caves. Huge pipelines lay across the floor with cables and sockets poking out of them. In the distance, he could see more Digimon moving quitely around, tending to things lying on some of the beds. "Little home? This looks more like a hospital." "Oh, this is only part of it. I should really say 'our big home', but once you get to know where you are it's really quite quaint." "Wait a second, where are we?" "The Himalaya Mountains. This is the base of the United Worlds Alliance."

Three things: Please don't double-post. If there's something you want to add to your original message, please use the 'Edit' button located underneath your first post. Favourites threads generally aren't allowed unless they're well-elaborated on, for the simple reason that they tend to lead to short, poor-quality posts (which this one has already). Finally, avoid posts that are so short at all costs. At OtakuBoards, one line replies are against the rules and hence considered spam. Please put more effort and thought into your posts in the future. I suggest you take a look at the Rules before you post again. Thread closed.

I suggest you take a look in the Angel Sanctuary thread to find out. Please don't start threads this short or pointless. This is spam. It doesn't take much to run a search to find out if a thread's already been started so you can find out the answer to your question (which is incredibly vague anyway). Add more detail in future (for example, whether it's scheduling or plot you're asking about), and take a look at the Rules in the meantime. Thread closed.

Sorry, threads like this aren't really allowed here unless they're properly developed. They tend to lead to poor-quality posts, and this is about too narrow a topic to have in a forum devoted to all anime. In an Inuyasha forum it may be acceptable, but not here. If we allowed a 'favourite/least favourite' or 'best/worst' character thread for each anime there ever was it'd take ages to get to anything worthwhile. And that's a scary thought if you consider how many animes have actually been made o_o; Another point: When creating a thread, make sure to check over any mistakes you might have made, both in the post and the title- grammar, punctuation, full words, etc. It's just nicer. Well, meeting new friends that you can actually like and will look after you as you look after them can be a rather ambiguous thing to do- you have to look for places you can find them, but then not try and enforce yourself on them to become friends. It's best to let things happen naturally. I went through a bad friends patch when I was trying to avoid some other people I'd just broken up with. I was patronised, bullied, left behind, etc but I didn't care because I was trying to avoid the first group of friends I'd left. It didn't take too long for me to find other friends, though. They cane come in some unexpected places, heh. Of course, it helps if you look happy. If you look sad all the time people are more likely to want to be with someone who looks like they're going to give them a fun time, especially at your kind of age. I'm not suggesting that you do look depressed all the time, or that you're not a fun person to be with, but you have to have confidence in yourself that you can actually have friends. If you can do that and know where to look then you should be alright. As much as I love the people I've met online, you really need physical companionship as well. It's human nature, if nothing else, to actually be with someone rather than just talk over a computer screen. Try taking out a few hobbies that you enjoy; like drama, reading clubs or anything else you're interested in. Chances are, if you meet someone with the same interests then you could wind up becoming friends. It's not guaranteed, but it's a start.

Anime Martian Successor Nadesico anyone?
Solo Tremaine replied to ElrickOtaku's topic in Otaku Central
I was slightly dissapointed when I watched POD because I thought the ending was a bit rushed, and some things weren't explained properly. It is still a great film though.
I didn't mind Prince of Darkness too much, personally. I guess I was just happy to see the Nadesico crew in a high-budget animated state, heh. That said, it was quite hard to piece together, and the ending left me a little cold. Considering Nadesico is quite a bright series,
I was surprised that Akito remained so cold and unfeeling, leaving Yurika and everyone else behind to disappear into space. I'm sure Ruri fancies him, though... mind you, almost every other female does or did at some point in the series, too.

I can agree that Jun Aoi is a great character, the way in which he is loyal and fairly competant just seems to make him a joke to the rest of the crew though.
Amen to that ^_~ Jun's my favourite character, hehe. He's one I can really identify with. Although he lacks a fair amount of Akito's gusto, he often seems to gain himself a lot of the injuries Akito doesn't. His POD hair is a little questionable, though o_o; When I first saw the Nadesico trailer on a Reboot DVD of mine, I didn't likethe animation of the noses- the shots they used made them look like horrible pixies, but when they actually broadcast the series on the Sci-Fi UK channel I was drawn in once I discovered the anime wasn't meant to be serious. I had no idea it was a comedy on watching the first episode, which made it come off as just oddly-written ^_^; I wouldn't say Nadesico's my favourite anime, but it is one I really enjoy watching. The comedy moments can have me in hysterics for ages, and the characters are well-balanced enough to be realistic but still fall into the anime stereotypes they're trying to satirise. It's good stuff. There isn't an episode I actually dislike watching, but I felt the end of the series could have been done a little better. It just didn't seem as climactic as it should be.
I'm happy that Akito and Yurika did manage to get it together (although Yurika isn't a favourite character of mine), but the way it happened didn't really appeal to me. I can't exactly explain why. I haven't watched it in a while.
The music's pretty good too- certainly the vocal songs, if not the orchestral BGM stuff. I can't get enough of Ruri's I Want to be Your Number One and You Get to Burning, heh. -
I haven't seen a huge number of Shoujo anime apart from a few done by CLAMP, my favourite of which was Magic Knight Rayearth. I think almost every single character was likeable in it for some reason or another- although there were evil characters they always had redeeming qualities that enabled you to empathise with them, and even the nicer characters showed some nasty, reckless or antisocial qualities. Lady Debonair in the second season was probably the only character that had little to no development, revelations or interesting side. She was just plain evil. I love the animation in Magic Knight Rayearth; more specifically the second part of it. It's just that much cleaner, and the characters have changed in their looks- they seem more grown-up than before. And you can never go wrong with swooshy cloaks, pretty armour and stylish weaponry ^_~ I must admit though- they look best in the Rayearth OVA (I guess mostly due to the increased budget they had to produce it). But the storyline of that was very confusing, and not anywhere near as good as the series. But then I suppose there wasn't a huge amount of scope for character development to be done in three episodes. It's still a firm favourite of mine, though.

Wayne, please break up your posts and add more punctuation- it's incredibly difficult to work out exactly what you're asking for. I suggest you take a look at the Rules to see what we expect in the way of post quality here at OtakuBoards. The point with the 'Rate My Deck' thread is to actually post your whole Deck for people to give advice on. It's no use just posting a few cards, as there's no rest of the Deck to complare it to to give a really good idea of what you really do or don't need. Please try and put more thought into your future posts.
-
Er... I'm not really too sure what to say about this. But if it's not anime, it shouldn't be discussed here. And since it doesn't seem to be serving much of a discursive puropse anyway, I'm going to close the thread. Please put more thought into your future posts. Make sure you have a clear point when starting a thread, and make sure it's in the right place when you do. Otherwise it'll be discounted as spam and closed/deleted.
-
stormy, you're going to have to give far more detail about an anime series for a serious thread to be started about it. Characters, plot, animation, anything else about it at all is needed if people are going to know properly what you're referring to. This is not enough. Thread closed.
-
pegasus~luver, if you know a reply's going to be off-topic, please don't post it unless there's something else intelligent you can add to the thread. Please put more thought and effort into your posts- make them longer, include more detail and just make them less inane. OtakuBoards is all about post quality. If you don't meet the standards, you won't last very long. Also, this thread is from 2001. Two years ago. Please don't bring back topics older than thirty days unless they're about a specific anime, and even then preferably not threads as low-quality as this. Thread closed.
-
pegasus~luver, you seriously need to look at the Rules. Introductions threads aren't allowed, neither is double or triple-posting. Or one-word/sentence posts, poor spelling/grammar and abbreviations. Try and avoid these at all costs. Please put more thought and effort into future posts. I'm afraid lists of animes you like are generally considered spam on OtakuBoards, and as this is an example of such I'm going to close the thread. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other Moderator of your choice. Thread closed.
Solo, you can't force people to rate decks they don't want to. --;
What I mean is that there's no point having a 'Rate My Deck' thread if no-one bothers to actually rate the Decks that are being posted. Otherwise it leads up to these pointless posts that simply say "Why hasn't anyone rated my Deck yet?", or "Can someone plz rate my deck?"- It just gets ludicrous. I don't want to close the thread, but if it continued to be a simple list of Decks then it's no better than any other thread that turns into people posting lists of items. I have to look at this in terms of a Moderator and see whether it's actually generating discussion or whether it's not actually getting anywhere. Unfortunately we don't have the Yu-Gi-Oh discussion scope that we used to, so these things are a fair amount harder than they were. The_IvIATRIX, even if the Dark Magicians are different styles you can only have up to three- what matters is the name of the actual card. So even if you had five different DM variations, you'd only be allowed up to three in any Deck. Other than that you just have too many cards and not enough ways to get all the ones you need out onto the field. You'd need at least a Graceful Charity, Cyber Jar, Pot of Greed and Jar of Greed to even think about getting all of those out in the right way. You're running the risk of having too many monsters and not enough turns to get them all out in. If it's a casual deck then it's not quite so crucial, but if you want a realy smooth-running competetive Deck you'd need to have about 40 cards in total. But extra drawing power would help anyway, regardless of your duelling context.
-
Inuyasha7271, if you want people to rate your deck it would be nice to at least extend the same courtesy to other people who post in this thread. If I have to ask people to do this one more time I will close this thread. It goes without saying that for decks to be rated, someone has to rate them. If the Deck ahead of yours has not already been rated then you must do so yourself before posting your own Deck for rating. That's the only way this thread will work. Anyway, since this Deck seems to be mostly a Beatdown Deck, I'd suggest taking out Mystical Elf, Kojikocy and Celtic Guardian to replace them with monsters with higher ATK. Gazelle, Darkfire Soldiers 1 and 2 could probably be replaced, if not with monsters with the same ATK then at least ones with a type common to those in the rest of the Deck. As it is, you're losing out on speed because the power-ups you can give have to cover so many different elements/attributes. Obviously, Enraged Battle Ox would be a better replacement for the regular Battle Ox, as that'll give any Beasts/Winged Beasts and Beast-Warriors a Fairy Meteor Crush ability. Or the fire one, which if you really want to keep all those Fire monsters in, will help out a lot. There aren't many monster-removal Effect monsters. It's unusual to see a Deck without at least a Man-Eater Bug or an Old Vindictive Magician about. It might help you to have a few more effect monsters which'll atually do some kind of damage to your opponent's strategy, rather than just see what he's about to do- The Stern Mystic isn't going to help too much if you don't have the right cards to get rid of the things you see. Even a Cyber Jar'll help you out of really tight spots, and it'll get you loads of cards into your hand, too (and with the amount of cards you do have, it'll help a lot). Remove Trap will only get rid of face-up Traps, and there aren't many of those going to be about in Tournament gameplay. It's not chainable, so you'd do better to have a Mystical Space Typhoon. Take out Dian Keto- with Poison of the Old Man and Enchanted Javelins/Wabokus you won't really need it. Better field cards to have are Mystic Plasma Zone and Gaia Power, if the majority of your monsters are Earth/Dark. That's about all the advice I can give. I haven't a lot of time. Try to sound more poilte when asking for someone to re-rate your Deck, Inuyasha7271. I can't help but feel that if I'd been the person who tried to help you before, I wouldn't have given you another look. It's all about courtesy.

There's a thread almost exactly the same as this just down the page in which you can discuss the age you first started watching anime and the animes you first saw. In future, please try and add more detail to your posts, Animefan and sebbefross. Post quality is an essential part of OtakuBoards. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other Moderator of your choice. Thread closed.

I know a friend who will be VERY happy of this news.
Please put more thought and effort into your posts, Innotech. Constructive comments are much in need here. Some of your replies I've seen are much better than this. Try not to slip.

Ecch, I'm loathe to do this but I'm going to close this thread. As much discussion as there is, it could just as easily be kept to PMs. Gendou, if you want people to recommend you some anime, you could always put it into your signature so people could PM you about it. As it is, this isn't hugely productive. The posts are pretty much boiling down to yes and no answers with eleboration, but it's not really the kind of thing that belongs in the main forum. If there are any series that have caught your attention I'd suggest looking inside existing threads to see what others have to say about them. Thread closed. Sorry.
maybe sakura coz im always happy and all dat :D i hate maths peh
chocho_chobits, this post is spam. I was going to let this thread stay for a while even though it was a favourites thread in all but name to see whether it would amount to anything really interesting, but unfortunately now I think I'll have to close it. It might not be just another favourite anime thread, but it probably will be in a few days' time. I'd say about eighty per cent of these threads end up being closed because they descend into one-sentance posts with no substance or discussion. Really, even the reasons you give would be considered too short for a decent OB post, gendou. Yes, there's more than one, but in each the substance of reasoning is rather lacking. If everyone just posted a list of their favourite animes it wouldn't lead to any discussion at all. It's more proactive describing exactly what it is about a series that you like, and even then you might as well just post in an existing thread about the anime itself, to get even greater discussion. Sorry, I'm going to have to close this. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
