Just as a reference, Decks to be rated should go in the Rate My Deck! thread at the top of the page. Since you're new, I'm not going to bite your head off about it, heh. It looks to be a very good Deck, although you might do with a Magic Cylinder and perhaps one or two other Trap Cards to help you out. It's understandable if you've not gotten round to getting them yet- they are expensive cards, but they can really help turn the Duel around for you. Three Gearfrieds is a lot to not be able to equip with anything, though. Since they can't use them, you might want to substitute one for a Gemini Elf. If you want a slightly more hard-hitting Deck, a Giant Orc (possibly combined with Second Goblin to allow you to change its position once per turn) or Goblin Attack Force could be useful to you. Welcome to the boards, Cyracin25 ^_^ If you have any questions/comments/problems, fee free to PM me.
Originally posted by The Mac Attack I've also recently started watching Gasaraki, another ADV dub. It's difficult to remember some characters, so I just call them by their equivalents in Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 e.g. I can hear a Mason and a Linna amongst them. These initial associations I made can sort of ruin the anime experience. For quite some time I thought Dortin (from Orphen) was female as he was voiced by Hillary Haag, withwhom I'd already established a connection as being Nene (BGCT2040).
A great deal of these voices are in RahXephon as well. I saw BGCT2040 before RahXephon, and as you said the associations I had with the voices ruined the new experience- as it wasn't a truely 'original' character as such, they tend to seem rather lackluster and boring. But RahXephon has a good story, so it's forgiven and I'm still going to watch it ^_^ The worst thing for me is watching something I really enjoy (like Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh), only to find those voices in another programme I don't like, such as Ultimate Muscle or Flint the Time Detective. Hearing Gomamon's voice come from Flint is deeply distracting, and I think damaging to Gomamon's career :p. I've heard Brock/Kaiba's voice in at least... five or so different animes. The only exception I know to this is the BeyBlade dub, the voices of which I've never heard in anything else ever again. Although that might not be too bad a thing... But the companies who specialise in voice actors do huge amounts of things anyway- I read in an interview by Spike's voice actor (agh, people are going to kill me for not knowing his name. It's on the tip of my tongue >_

I've been deliberating over whether to close this for some weeks now, and I have come to the conclusion that it's not really adding an awful lot to the boards anymore, so I'm having done with it. If this thread pops up again, I'll close it without hesitation next time. If you feel you want to write a full-length Yu-Gi-Oh parody, the Poetry, Fan Fiction and Literature forum is for you.

Writing Digimon: Dark Conflict [Revisited]
Solo Tremaine replied to Solo Tremaine's topic in Creative Works
Now, the moment you've all been waiting for: Brand new Dark Conflict! Admittedly this chapter pretty much just serves as a bridge, but there's some decent histpry explanation in it. More revelations come in Chapter 8 (which I've finished, but won't be up until I've done Chapter 9. I like having one in reserve at all times, heh). Anyway, here we go ^_^ ------------------------------------ Chapter 6: Interloper Tokyo, Japan. A country almost ignored by the humans since its near-destruction by the Sentients. Buildings that once stood tall were now half-collapsed, rubble covering once busy streets. Eighteen years ago, this city was overflowing with life, both digimon and human. Now, it was almost deserted. The park, once green with lush vegetation, was now grey and devoid of life, its wide-open spaces cluttered with twisted metal and crumbling stone. The once proud TV tower was now broken in two, the top half thrown across the bay. Upon passing, the whole city looked completely deserted. On a desolate beach littered with debris a figure stood, the waves lapping at her feet. She watched the horizon desperately for signs of anything approaching. Nothing yet. She held a hand to her chest and continued to stand guard, her orange hair blowing in the cool breeze? * * * ?What?? Gabumon spluttered, his eyes wide. Matt held out the D-Terminal to him, his hands shaking. On the screen was the e-mail: Matt! I?m alive, I?m still here. Help me! T.K Aidan could hardly believe his eyes. ?You mean for all these years he?s been living rough in the Digimon Continent?? MetalArmadillomon scratched his head. ?Can you be sure it?s him?? Matt shook his head. ?I don?t know. But I?m sure as hell not going to pass off the chance to rescue him if it is.? Switching the screen back to the map, he began steering the boat in the direction of the massive supercontinent. ?Hey, wait a second.? Aidan called, placing a hand on Matt?s shoulder. ?We need a plan first. He could be anywhere. That continent?s a huge place to try and search for one person.? Tempestmon watched then curiously as they deliberated the situation. She couldn?t understand most of what they were saying, but she could tell that this was a problem by the firm expressions on their faces. ?They won?t take kindly to a human running around their territory, that?s for sure.? MetalArmadillomon pointed out. ?They?ll notice the boat, too- we could be dead before we even get to searching for T.K.? Their expressions dropped. They all looked deep in thought. ?Fly!? Tempestmon exclaimed, pointing at the ceiling. Aidan and Matt exchanged bemused looks before smiling at her. ?That?s a fantastic idea.? Matt commented, looking around for a solution to their next problem- how he was going to get into the digimon?s territory without being torn apart. As he made his way towards the hold, a suit of human Special Forces? armour in a locker caught his eye? * * * The sea was surprisingly calm that early morning. The sun was slowly rising over the horizon to the West, casting a bright orange light over the small rippling waves. The influence of the Digital World on the land was a stark contrast to the derelict cities now standing in the rest of the world. Tall tropical trees flourished on the digital soil, standing proudly on golden beaches lapped by cobalt blue waves. It reminded Matt of when he?d arrived at the continent of Server on Whamon?s back almost thirty years ago. He?d been in awe at the sites around him, the lush green forests and blue oceans standing beautifully ahead of them, concealing their destiny within the vast expanse of land. The same feeling of apprehension gripped his stomach as they came in closer to the sand. He could see digimon swimming under the water?s surface. Some were small- simply the digital equivalent of a fish; but he knew there would be other, much larger creatures waiting for something to stray too close by. He thought he saw the beady eyes of a Seadramon staring up at them as they passed, but tried to ignore it. ?How are you doing. Matt?? MetalGarurumon growled as they began their descent. ?I?m doing alright,? he said quietly, rolling his shoulders. The metal armour was heavy enough, but having an extra set of wing-like epaulettes fixed onto his shoulder blades felt like he?d just donned a diving suit. The visor of the helmet had two triangular eye-shapes carved into it to give the illusion that he was some kind of monstrous knight digimon. ?But remember, I?m a digimon now,? he added, making sure the pistol he?d hidden in his chest plate was still there. ?We don?t have to keep the pretence up for long; just until we find T.K.? Flying alongside them were Aidan and Tempestmon, each holding one of MetalArmadillomon?s front claws. They gently landed on the sand and looked around. Several hundred feet away were some Koromon washing what looked to be wooden plates in the sea. One looked up, gave them a suspicious glare and carried on cleaning. ?Perhaps we should split up.? Aidan hissed. ?We could already be attracting unwanted attention.? Matt nodded in agreement and he leapt from MetalGarurumon?s back. The two of them disappeared into the forest, while Tempestmon, Aidan and MetalArmadillomon carried on up the beach. The steely armadillo scratched his head. Something felt odd about being back here. He looked inland. Maybe he should have stayed back in the ship. He knew the digimon had been chasing after him ever since the humans first captured him, but he?d never known why. Now he?d returned, what were to happen if he was seen? ?Um? Aid- Solarismon?? ?What?? ?I?m not sure I should be here?? he whispered. Aidan was just about to ask why when the two Koromon lunged in front of them. ?You found him!? they chorused, staring at MetalArmadillomon wide-eyed. ?The Sentients will be pleased.? One cooed. ?Yes. You must take him to HiAndromon,? The other purred excitedly. Aidan nodded. ?We know where to go.? He replied authoritatively. Gesturing to Tempestmon, he led the three of them towards a large stone path leading to some high cliffs in the distance. ?But? you won?t really take me to him, will you?? MetalArmadillomon hissed once they were out of earshot of the Koromon. ?Of course we won?t.? Aidan scoffed. ?But we?ll have to make it look genuine if we all want to get out of here alive.? * * * Matt?s gaze darted to the screen on the digivice. It had been taped firmly to his gauntlet to look like an extension of the black armour that covered his body. The small red light was drawing closer to their marker. They?d walked a long way so far. They?d passed near to several Digimon settlements, each unique to the type of digimon living there. They didn?t have the same innocent charm that they once had years ago- the small Koromon village was almost military in its construction, with sharpened wooden stakes pointing out of the ground near its borders to stop intruders from getting too close. It was saddening to see what was such a peaceful race look so hostile. It had been years since Matt had last set foot on digital land. The last time they had, they lost Joe. The small ship crashed after a confrontation with some Devidramon? ?Who goes there?? a harsh voice rasped. It belonged to an old RedVeggiemon, its red skin paling and wrinkly with age and battle scars. ?Move!? MetalGarurumon growled. ?We want passage through the forest.? ?Out of the question.? It shook its head violently as it spoke, showering the ground in front of it with saliva. ?This is our territory. No-one gets through without offering a tribute to us.? MetalGarurumon straightened himself and his mouth began to glow. ?Here?s my tribute!? he roared. A blast of ice exploded from his mouth and enveloped the vegetable digimon. When the blast cleared, the digimon had been completely encased in ice. ?That?ll keep him quiet until we?re through the forests.? Matt said quietly, checking the digivice screen again. The dot had moved to a north-west direction now. As they continued through the tall trees, a beady black eye watched their every move? * * * Dead, grey mountains towered over the barren wasteland, their peaks obscured by swirling black clouds. The looming figure surveyed the darkness around him, breathing in the stale, cold air. Giving a rasping sigh of satisfaction, he hovered forwards to a ring of jagged rocks in the centre of the wasteland. He flew over the edge of the rocks and landed on the warm ground encircled by them. Clouds of a crimson dust rose from the ground with each heavy footstep. He looked up at the monolith in front of him and dropped to one knee. ?I have been summoned.? A rumble passed through the mountainous rocks around him. He could feel the ground moving slowly up and down like a colossal ribcage. ?Something has disturbed that sanctity of my kingdom.? ?I understand. What is your command?? Another rumble shook the ground, more violently this time. ?Find the tainted ones. Annihilate them.? He let out a twisted grin. ?Yes, it shall be done.? * * * Tempestmon studied their surroundings with great curiosity as they trudged along the stony path, eyed suspiciously by digimon waiting along its edge. ?Try not to look too interested, Tempestmon. We don?t want to draw anyone?s attention.? Aidan whispered. She obediently drew closer to the two of them and paid more attention to where they were going. MetalArmadillomon chanced a look behind him. ?I think it may be too late for that,? he grimaced as a small group of digimon followed a few yards behind. They watched the metal creature with hungry eyes, but dared not venture any closer for fear of his two companions. MetalArmadillomon wished he knew why they wanted him so badly. At least then he?d be able to do something about it. As it was, all he could do was sit and watch factions fight over who was going to get him back. Aidan kept a tight grip on his sword. His ears were constantly pricked, listening for the tiniest sounds of movement around them. If MetalArmadillomon was this precious to them, it might only be a matter of time before something planned an ambush. ?MetalArmadillomon, get onto my back.? He called. Immediately, the steel digimon leapt inbetween his wings and wrapped his arms around the wolf?s neck. Aidan and Tempestmon leapt into the air and soared away, leaving the trail of following creatures growling in the dust. MetalArmadillomon gave a sigh of relief. ?Where do we go from here?? Aidan scanned the ground below them. In the distance he could see the ruins of a city, destroyed by the invasion of the Digimon. ?We?ll take shelter in those derelict buildings.? He pointed ahead. ?We should be safe there.? As they drew closer, the true extent of the Digimon?s devastation could be seen. Skyscrapers had been ripped from their foundations and completely demolished- huge parts of them lay across streets, or had been hurled into other buildings in an effort to create as much damage as possible. Very few buildings were still standing. The wall of one twenty-story office block rocked gently on its crippled base, blackened with soot from fire and explosions. There was no life on the streets. A few tufts of grass sprouted through cracks in the concrete, but nothing else living stood there. A dead silence hung in the air. Occasionally they caught sight of a dead body, eaten away by scavenging digimon or completely charred beyond recognition. Aidan didn?t want to know which city this used to be. They landed in front of a tall, square building with half a funnel poking from its roof. Cautiously, they went inside. Tempestmon drew her blades in apprehension. The dark sky overhead cast the building into even darker shadows. Rubble covered the floors, some of which were still crumbling away, the wrath of the attacks long since passed. Finding a suitable room on the third floor, they stayed to rest. Tempestmon placed herself on a plaster-covered armchair whose arms had been ripped away, while Aidan leant against the wall by the door. MetalArmadillomon peered over the windowsill at the demolished cityscape outside. ?I?ve never known a world before this?? he whispered, watching a horde of FlyBeemon buzz overhead. Aidan sighed. ?Sometimes I wonder which was better, this or the world before the war.? ?You can?t mean that, can you?? MetalArmadillomon whirled round in shock. ?Look at this destruction, this devastation- you can?t tell me this is a better existence?? Aidan strode away from the door, his face half-hidden by shadow. ?Think about it- the world?s been leading itself to ruin ever since the humans discovered technology. It was only a matter of time before they did this to themselves anyway.? ?Does that make it right?? MetalArmadillomon yelled. His voice echoed around the room. ?Is all this death justified?? There was a tense pause. The two of them stared at each other, both with a fierce determination. ?No.? Aidan walked round next to the armchair, Tempestmon watching him very closely. She didn?t seem to understand what they were saying, but she knew it was serious. ?But if you?d been through what I had you?d be thinking exactly the same thing.? He said firmly to MetalArmadillomon. ?What did happen?? he asked quietly. Aidan stared out of the window. ?It was a long time ago, just after the war had started. I? I can?t even remember how old I was now. Either way, that didn?t seem to matter to Naraku.? Tempestmon tilted her head upon hearing the commander?s name. ?I know Naraku.? She said suddenly. The other two jumped. ?Well? yes.? Aidan muttered, digging his claws into his hands. ?He?s the main reason a lot of this was caused, in more ways than one.? Something moved in the shadows by the door. It went unnoticed by the three digimon inside. ?I lived in a small town in Japan called Tsumago. I wasn?t born there, but my father was offered a job that meant we had to move there. I was more than happy to go at the time, especially as Japan was the epicentre of the Digimon sightings some years beforehand.? ?So? you aren?t a Digimon?? MetalArmadillomon asked softly ?I wasn?t then.? Aidan spat harshly. ?I don?t know what I am now.? He felt a hand on his shoulder. ?You look Digimon.? Tempestmon soothed. He blinked, then took her hand from his shoulder and walked across to another window. ?I don?t feel like one.? He growled. ?Shortly after we moved, MaloMyotismon was destroyed and everyone in the world gained a Digimon partner. I was so happy? Veedramon was one of the best friends I could have ever had. We just matched each other so well?? His voice trailed off. The other two watched him closely as he wrung his hands and coughed. ?Then, it happened. The war struck in the Digital World and no-one knew. The ties to the Digital World had been severed by something, and by the time they?d re-emerged it was too late. I don?t know what Thanatomon did or even where he came from, but when he hit this planet everything around him died. ?A military official thought this was the Digimon?s plan all along- to gain our trust and then completely wipe us out. The governments of Europe and America, spurned by advice from a military commander named Kamagata Naraku, ordered a mass extermination of all creatures within their borders.? ?Oh god?? MetalArmadillomon shook slightly. A vast, burning emptiness cored him inside. ?Almost needless to say, the Digimon retaliated. They set about destroying each and every human they found within their country, and began to spread their plague of death as far around the world as they could. The humans were easy prey, and before long only half the world?s population was left. Partners turned against each other in vicious battles to the death, and all the while the Digidestined were trying to bring peace between the two sides.? He laid a hand on the windowsill and gripped it tightly. ?Tai was the first to go. He was assassinated by a human who believed that the digimon should remain back in their own world. Others died trying to protect their partners during either the humans? or the Digimon?s mass genocide, and soon only six were left.? Tempestmon moved closer. The more he spoke, the more she understood. ?What happened to you?? she asked. A little alarmed by how much she had managed to pick up, Aidan paused for a second. ?Er? meanwhile, Naraku had decided to recruit an army of elite soldiers to a secret research facility he?d created in order to develop a weapon to destroy the Digimon once and for all. He had been a great fan of martial arts beforehand, and that was how he found me. I won the regional championship for my age group a year beforehand, and he decided I was exactly the right material for his experiments. And the fact that I still had a digimon with me was even better. Saved him a second trip.? MetalArmadillomon swallowed hard. ?Veedramon? he merged you with Veedramon?? Aidan nodded. ?He tried to purge my memory of all loyalties I had with him, tried to erase all my ties to him, and then somehow grafted my body into his with the aid of the digivice. I was in the lab for six months before I finally woke up again. He named me Solarismon, a tribute to the ?blazing victory? I would bring to the humans.? ?But you?re here now, not there. You were freed.? Tempestmon started to edge closer to him, but he cast her a look that made her freeze. ?Yes, I broke free.? He murmured. ?I don?t know how. All I remember is a voice deep inside my head, telling me that this wasn?t what I was supposed to do, that they were using me. I didn?t know who it was, but I understood what it meant. A swell of energy burst from my body and I shattered their research lab for five years. Matt picked up my unconscious body while salvaging a wreck of a battleship. Gradually, my memories began to return and the result is standing before you now.? MetalArmadillomon opened his mouth to speak, just as a piece of wall fell away from the doorframe. The three of them readied themselves for battle as a shape emerged from the darkness? TO BE CONTINUED? So, what do you think? -
OOC: Whoops... Well, let's see if we can get this going again- mistakes aside, heh. I'll edit those posts. ---------------------------------------------- Flamedramon slammed his fist into a dark digimon's face, causing it to explode into hundreds of bits of data that floated into the sky. On the mountainside above him stood a massive castle, looming oninously in the grey skies. "What is that?" He could feel a dark energy surging through the mountains all around him, as if the very rock underneath his was being torn apart. Above them, he could see hordes of these strange creatures digging at the rocks near the castle. Huge boulders cascaded down the mountainside and into the pass where the suppoting forces were travelling. Flamedramon could only watch in horror as the flying digimon tried desperately to stop the barrage of rocks from killing all those underneath them. He kicked two creatures from a rookie's back and started running in the direction of the digimon creating the rockslide. His fists began to glow with fire. A high-pitched whistling stopped him in his tracks. he stumbled backwards just in time to miss being vaporised by a massive bolt of energy. He scraped the ground with his claws in frustration. Hundreds of minions were pouring from the entrances of the castle, each shrieking wildly and swaring over the nearest attacking forces. Huge energy sparks exploded into the moutainside like meteors, sending digimon flying into oblivion. "This is bad..."

OOC: Summary -Trace, Senrai, Kaia and Kwaz are all on their way to the Heifon Spaceport to board the Midnight Wing. -Lex is presumably still on the roof of the building (Trace didn't kill him, just shot at the walls), unless he's stalking the others. -Rao and Sata are on a ship heading towards Heifon's orbit. -Stick Fairy's character Pearl hasn't come in yet, and neither has Shanghai's Eizou. As another note: I'd like to limit the amount of posts per person per day to no more than 2. It's very easy to run away with a story otherwise, heh. I've had problems keeping up where all the characters have gotten to, come back from and who they're talking to already or maybe I'm just dense like that... Anyway, it's going well so far ^_^ If anyone has any problems, chuck me a PM. -------------------------------------------------------- Trace kept his rifle held out in front of him as he walked. Something in the night air sent a feeling of apprehension throbbing in his veins. In the distance he could make out the support towers of the Spaceport, some attached to spaceships. Tiny red lights flashed on one, a signal that it was gearing for a launch in an hour's time. That was the Midnight Wing. "Pick up the pace guys!" he hissed at the others, quickening his pace. He looked over his shoulder again. Three new crewmembers so far. Where was his gunner? He cast a quick glance to the top of the building he'd fired at. He'd only met Lex once before, but his reputation was well-rooted into almost every Outlaw's collection of stories. He was a legendary marksman, and never one to turn down a job. He clenched his jaw. He'd better be here soon. He needed a decent gunner for the ship. Another stupid mistake wasn't what he needed right now. Two crew dead in as many weeks, it wasn't looking good for him. "Great, I'm going from Tracker to Kamikaze." he thought bitterly, contemplating the wide scars on his chest. As they continued forwards, a shape in the darkness ahead stopped them in their tracks. "You looking for a fight?" Trace growled. The figure gave a derisive laugh. "I'd hardly call it a fight." He pulled a hood from his face to reveal a black and white mask with five eyeslits and triangular spikes poking from its edges. "The Ban Pirates aren't best pleased with your choice of mission." the figure started walking forwards slowly, almost in a slither. "I think it's time to terminate your contract." OOC: Remember, this guy's a Ban Pirate. he's not going down easily, if at all.

Altron or not, Red Inferno has been banned. This kind of attidude has been around this forum for too long. An 'eye for an eye' is a stupidly petty concept that won't get you anywhere, and is still against the rules on this board. If you feel someone has flamed you, report it rather than try flaming them back. You'll only get yourself into trouble as well otherwise. Anyway, let's get back to the topic now. If there's any 'unfinished business', keep it to PMs.

Alaris tapped his foot impatiently, waiting on the slopes of the stone mountains outside the gates of the Capital. Rayea was standing behind him, holding a glaive and a burning torch as a beacon for the armadillo-clones to follow. Alaris wondered whether anyone would notice that he'd left the group momentarily. He felt a little apprehensive without them, but then he'd never really attached to anyone outside of the armadillo-clones before. He cocked his head. In the distance, he could hear the heavy clatter of armoured footsteps, mixed together with a clamour of whispered voices. Several torches illuminated the faces of troops he knew well, all marching to give additional support to the attack on the humans' base. Rayea waved the torch slowly through the air- a simple but obvious signal. The cheetah messenger that had delivered the marching order gave Alaris a nod and then disappeared inside the gates. Alaris shook the hand of the juniour officer in front of him and pointed to a peak in the distance. "Over there is where the humans' base is situated. The main bulk of the forces will be entering from inside the Capital. Take the heavy digging equipment and start drilling down at the markered point once the signal's given." The juniour officer saluted, then paused. "Er... what is the siganl sir?" Alaris pointed to an hourglass rigged to an ukso bomb tied to a stake on the ground. "That. Regardless of whether we're ready or not, begin when that bomb goes off. Once you're through send a platoon into the hole. I'm taking a small squadron through the front." The officer gave another curt salute and signalled to the diggers armed with gigantic mechanical drills. Obediently, they made their way towards the marker. The armadillo-clones might be poorly skilled when it came to psychic abilities, but they couldn't be faulted on their mechanical finesse. "Let's move out!"

Domon- the Deck looks good, but I'd suggest possibly cutting down on a Thunder Nyan Nyan. I's only lose one at the most, but bear in mind that with quite a mix of Dark and other element monsters, just one of those on the field could destroy all three of your Nyan Nyans at once. You could always add in a Soul of Purity and Light- its effect pretty much allows it to be summoned at any time if you have a Light monster in your Graveyard anyway, and that gives you 100 extra ATK to play around with. Just a suggestion, mind. It seems like a good Deck, though. Although you could probably do better with Sonic Bird rather than Senju to get your Ritual card out, because you can search for Paladin of White Dragon with Sangan anyway.
-
I always got the impression you can fuse monsters if they're both in your hand, or if not that then if one's in your hand and the other's on the field. A better way to summon them quickly might be just to use Tribute to the Doomed or a card that allows you to discard while doing something to your opponent at the same time, then use Monster Reborn with Premature Burial or The Shallow Grave, something like that. That way you don't have the jiggery-pokery of trying to get MR and Poly back, plus you can cut down on your overall card numbers. There are plenty of monster-revival cards around. You could do with a Luminous Spark, too- that raises the ATK of all your LIGHT monsters by 500.

The 'Rate My Deck' thread serves this purpose well enough. There, duelists can improve their own Decks and add a decent amount of variety to the game rather than use a simple template and insert a limited amount of cards. Creation of Decks has to be free for the person to do themselves. Besides, there's a flaw to every Deck. Although it may be obscure, nothing's entirely perfect. As such, it would be wrong to say one Deck's better than another when it may not actually be so at all. We wouldn't want to provoke arguments about elitism here. Thread closed.

Threads over 30 days old have usually run their normal discursive course and can't be discussed any more. The same goes for this one, so I'm going to close it. And that's not including the quality with which it was brought back- chester, try and improve please. Posts should have an intelligent point, preferably with a tasteful amount of smilies.

OOC: Wow, this has been busy ^_^; I knew I should have come back home earlier, heh. Good stuff. --------------------------------------------------------- Trace pulled the rifle from the holster on his back and held it by his side. A cautionary measure, if nothing else. Fearsome as his new companions were, gunfights could be troublesome. He glanced behind him to where the Royal Armoury was following them outside, his metal backpack glinting in the moonlight. "Are we leaving?" he asked Trace, whose ears were pricked as if trying to pick a particular noise out of the low hum of the vehicles elsewhere in the city. "Wait..." Three gunshots rang out, their sound echoing throughout the streets. Immediately, everyone's heads turned to the roof of a nearby building, followed by a grim silence. Trace sniffed the air. This ammunition had a very distinctive scent to it. He let out a satisfied sigh. Allowing himself a slight smile, he took aim with his assault rifle and squeezed back the trigger. A volley of bullets cascaded into the concrete near the top of the building, sending clouds of dust billowing into the night sky. "What was that for?" Senrei hissed, mildly annoyed by the ringing in her ears caused by Trace's gunbarrel. Trace licked his lips. "Just saying 'hi'." If he was right, they'd soon be joined by someone he knew he could trust. A shrill electronic bleep caught his attention. The device on his wrist crackled inot life and a deep mechanical voice transmitted through. "Trace, I'm detecting several Ban Pirate ships in orbit of Heifong. I suggest you make haste with the crew so that we can avoid any unnecessary damage." "Shit." He signalled to the others and began striding down the debris-littered streets. "Keep the engines warm, Colt. We'll be there soon." Jabing a button on the wrist-mounted communicator, the voice of the ship's computer faded away. He gave a look to Kwas. "Now we're leaving."

Trace eyed the Ctarl-Ctar cautiously. Typical. The first person to appear to him happens to be a Ctarl-Ctarl, and one with a strong, rather elusive scent of feline pheromones. He let out a brief, shallow sigh and looked back at his drink. He'd have to swallow his distaste for a while, at least until the mission was done. if he wasn't in such a hurry he'd leave her here, but as it was... "Impress me." Trace muttered, gesturing to the barman for another drink. "What can you do?" She smirked. "What can't I do?" she purred, shifting her stool closer. Trace held out a cautionary hand. "That's close enough." She flicked out her claws and examined them in the dim light. "Need I say more? I'm a Ctarl_Ctarl. Strength, agility, excelling in armed and unarmed combat..." she leant over the bar slightly while Trace studied the drink in front of him. "...pretty deadly in the right places." Trace knocked back the second shot and coughed. "Great, you're hired." As he turned round, he was aware of a second presence behind him. The two of them both turned to face the newcomer, standing tall against the dim, smoke-obscured lights. She flexed her claws as she spoke. "I'm guessing you are... Trace, right?" she said gruffly. Trace tensed. "That depends on who's asking." He crept his left hand round his back to the handle of his assault rifle. If anyone knew his name it generally meant trouble. "I am Shindorakai of the Hyfon race..." The figure stepped into the light, revealing a large bipedal fox-like creature with bright yellow eyes and silver fur. "Looking for a job." Trace looked her up and down and turned back to face the bar. "Sit down." He could feel the alcohol resting in his body. It was relaxing, but if he had any more he'd be too drunk to fight. "My ship's the Midnight Wing," he said in a low voice, being careful not to attract too much attention. "Once we've gathered a few more crewmembers we'll be heading back there. I'll explain our mission there." He waited for a reply. Hearing nothing but the murmur of activity in the bar, he continued. "While we're on my ship, I'm in command, so I hope you don't have a problem with taking orders. Any objections?"

Anime How to play 5+ level cards and two-pronged attach trap
Solo Tremaine replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Well, for a start, you don't play 'Two-Pronged Attack' as such- as it's a Trap you have to set it face-down and then activate it whenever you see fit to. The monsters (and they have to be monsters, not just any old card) you destroy for it's effect have to be on the field when you activate it. If there are no monsters on your opponent's side of the field, you cannot activate it. Likewise, if there aren't enough on your sde, you can't use the Trap. As for Level 5 monsters, these need one Tribute only. As a Tribute Summon is Considered a Normal Summon, you can only do one per turn unless using Ultimate Offering. That is: if you've summoned one monster already, you can't Tribute it in the same turn for another monster unless another card effect says you can. The same goes for those that need more than one Tribute. In future, questions about individual cards should go in the Yu-Gi-Oh CARD Advice Thread, located at the top of the page. Welcome to the boards, by the way. Be sure to read the Rules thread in the OtakuBoards Information Center and have fun. If you have any problems, feel free to contact me or any other member of Staff. Thread closed. -
Moisture Creature's another Light elemental- with quite a nice effect if it's used properly, too. Earth and Dark are my favourite themes personally- my main Deck's an Earth Beatdown (although it needs refining still). Buster Blader's my favourite of the strong 2-Tribute Earth warriors. For a 7 Star monster, 2600 isn't that bad. With an equip card or two that can rocket to very nice amounts, especially if there are one or two Dragon-types in your opponent's Graveyard as well. It's the one I always use. I'm glad you mentioned Hayabusa Knight, though- he's always been in my Deck and in the right situation he works immensely well. With an Axe of Despair and Gaia Power you have a 2500 ATK no-Tributes monster who can attack twice in the same turn. Pretty decent, if you ask me ^_^ I think Elemental Decks are easier to construct than the others- and although they're simple, they can be extremely effective.

My dad's... I can't remember his title any more (it keeps changing), but last time I knew I remembered it being Senior Psychiatric Consultant for the West Sussex NHS Trust. I think, heh. He's a psychiatrist who deals with drug and alcohol addictions, anyway. My mum used to work for the Ministry of Defence, doing various bits of research. For a time she worked at Farnborough, but I can't remember what she was doing there. She doesn't do any proper professional paid work anymore, but she occasionally gives out private spinning and weaving lessons to people who want to learn. I don't particularly want to follow in either of their footsteps, although I have a great deal of respect for them doing what they do/did do. My dad works horrendous hours, end even at home most of his time is spent answering work-related e-mails. Still, I'd like to be an actor, hopefully in TV/anime/film/theatre...

OOC: Sorry I'm late, guys. Won't happen again. --------------------------------- The cold winter winds blew harshly through the streets of Heifong, the broken windows of the industrial district rattling with each wave of chilling breeze. The grimy streets were littered with debris- Fred Luo had said a lot of outlaws were roaming the area, picking fights with the Space Forces. The unconscious body of a heavily-armoured man lay in the gutter. Winner or loser, they all ended up that way. The Space Forces were second only to the Ctarl Ctarl in terms of animosity, and had learned a lot from secret dealings with the Kei Pirates. Trace shivered, drawing the cloak draped over his shoulders tightly over his arms as he studied a holographic map of the area. Heifong seemed as good a place as any to search for a new crew. He could hear the wailing of sirens in the distance, the smell of spent ammunition and explosions still covering the streets. Things never used to be this bad? Ahead of him stood a rather dilapidated old bar, its neon sign barely visible for soot caking its tubes. He pushed open the door and wandered inside. All around him were drunks, shifty-looking gangsters huddled into darkened corners and overzealous bounty hunters bragging about their next catch. Trace didn?t like the look of any of them particularly. Taking a seat at the bar, he turned to face the rest of the room, discreetly eyeing everyone sat down for signs of something vaguely impressive. ?What?ll it be?? a gruff voice rumbled from behind him. ?A double-shot of Blue Moon. In a clean glass.? He replied quietly. Outside, the sounds of the sirens grew nearer. The Space Forces were obviously anxious about something. They hardly ever bothered with anything outside of Heifong's core city areas. Faint gunshots rang out over the chatter and gaudy music of the bar. Trace reached a hand to the holster on his lower back, checking his gun was in the right place if he needed it. A rap on the bar indicated that his drink was ready. The glass was a virulent green, making the liquid inside look like blood in the dim light. He gave a quiet snort of disgust and threw his head back, downing the drink in one. His back arched as it travelled down his throat. ?Someone better turn up before my Dock Pass runs out.? He muttered under his breath, slamming the shot glass onto the bar with a ?thud?. "I'll be damned if I'm taking this mission alone." A slumped figure on a stool next to him stirred slightly. "D'jou say somethin', misser?" "Shut your ass." Trace snapped.

"Little friend, eh?" Aidian thought to himself angrily. "I'll show him what kind of duelists we are!" He drew his first five cards and stared coldly at the kid in front of them. He wore a disgusting sneer on his face that twisted at the sides of his mouth. The kid reached into his own Deck and produced five cards. "I'll go first!" he shrieked, slamming a monster card onto the field and slipping two magic cards face-down. An Amazoness Swordswoman beamed into play, wearing the same grim face as the man-mountain stood behind her. Ryan and Aidian exchanged sideways glances, as if expressing a joint feeling of frustration and boredom with cocky attitudes. "After you." Aidian gestured to his partner, who gingerly drew from his Deck and studied his cards. Ryan smirked. In his hand was Spellbinding Circle, Breaker the Magic Warrior, Tribe-Infecting Virus, Barrel Behind the Door and Swords of Revealing Light. This kid didn?t have a chance. ?I summon Breaker in attack mode!? he declared. As he was summoned, Breaker?s attack power immediately increased to 1900. The red and gold monster stood proudly in front of his opponent, his sword gleaming in the light and his cloak blowing about him. He then set Barrel Behind the Door and Spellbinding Circle face-down, glaring angrily at the kid in front of him. ?There anything else you want to do before I decimate your Life Points?? Ryan smirked. The kid casually flipped up Bottomless Trap Hole, sending Breaker spiralling into a hole that opened in the playing field. ?You should have activated that earlier, you sneak!? Aidian hissed. The kid let out a derisive noise and looked to his tank-built partner, who grunted slowly and examined his cards. A Gearfried appeared on the field in a blaze of white light. The man opened his mouth and let out a loud booming voice. ?Attack!?

G-Unit, try and be more constructive. If you think something in a Deck doesn't work, give suggestions as to how it can be improved. As a general note to everyone, I'm watching this forum very carefully from now on to make sure no one steps out of line with their comments. I suggest everyone reads Shy's Sticky thread on Personal Attacks and think twice before making any derisive remarks again. They will not be tolerated.

Any card runs the risk of being destroyed. If that was all people worried about they'd have next to no cards in their Decks. Skill Drain's still a pretty powerful card, regardless of who uses it. I could see it in Dragon side-decks (at least) to prevent them from being blasted away by Buster Blader or Black Paladin.
