1. Wow, I'm sorry I'm so late with this. Please bear with me- I've not forgotten, heh. College and dad needing the computer have given me very little spare time of late. That, and I wanted to catch the last episode of Outlaw Star on Toonami UK to get into the swing of things ^_^ Tomorrow I have the computer all to myself, so it should be up then. For now, the cast is as follows: Solo Tremaine: Trace Arihyoshi Wondershot: Sata and Rao Jaihera Stick Fairy: Aurelia Pearl Esazas Raiha: Senrai Ley Ley RioLaskand: Lex Talionis Blanko: Shindorakai Tigervx: Kwaz Sosac Shanghai: Eizou That's quite a nice number, methinks. Thanks everyone for signing up ^_^ Don't take it personally if you didn't get in- I still appreciate the interest, heh. Keep trying ^_~
2. I've seen the Japanese version of that Red Eyes before- it's been around for a while there, from Promo Pack... 5? It's exactly like the Blue-Eyes promo, in that it's the same monster with the same stats as the original but just with a different picture. I think that one looks pretty nice, personally ^_^ So the picture's the only thing really different about it. I don't think it'll make much of an appearance in the series, though, seeing as Red-Eyes doesn't have a huge amount of story to attach to it.
Originally posted by Molleta *hangs head as a newbie*
There is a difference between a n00b and a Newbie, though. n00bs are the infesting creatures, Newbies *points* are fine, just new ^_^
Originally posted by Queen Asuka Otaku Prom sounds like it's going to be my favorite chapter by FAR! ^_______^ I love stuff like that. And I like the humor, too, but seriousness would be funny, too, if you know what I mean.
I think I get what you mean ^_^; There should hopefully be some more action and love-based chapters if I can figure out how to fit them in, but generally for those to work I need an arc, and writing developing storylines can be somewhat troublesome for me. But I'll see what I can do ^_^
Originally posted by Sara Solo, I hate to bother you, but can you give me a quick list of staff avatars? I'm getting them a bit muddled.
Ah, it's no bother ^_^ It'd help me to gather people's preferred appearance anyway. But you're quite right to be muddled- not that that was the intention, but I haven't actually mentioned the avatars of everyone who's been included yet. I felt it might detract from the general pace of the humour to have a wadge of description in there. But anyway, as it stands, the cast is as below. Some people I have there planning to put them into another chapter, I just need to know where I can. Mods: James: ?Jamie?- from Kill Adam signup. Adam: cartoon guy Charles: Viewtiful Joe Shy: Bosko Sara: Shimizu (of Chobits)- I know you were looking for an anime character that kind of matched you Sara; she's the best I've seen so far, heh. Semjaza Azazel: David Bowie- Sex With Animals is... interesting, but not a person. Syk3: Evangelion Unit 01- this is what I'll always associate with Syk, because he was wearing this avatar when we both became Mods ^_^ I don't know who the guy on his current avatar is, anyway. Desbreko: Link Break: Cloud (from FF...VII?) Solo Tremaine: Yugo Beast Form (see my avatar) Lady Katana: Kaoru (from Kenshin)- at her request, hehe ^_~ DeathKnight: Guy in Ken?s MyOtaku- DeathKnight seems an appropriate name for him, heh. Queen Asuka: Chii of Chobits Arcadia: Hitomi from Escaflowne Shinmaru: Desbreko briefly/Shin from Cowboy Bebop Jinzouningen17: Yami Marik Digital Monster: Amazon Archer Terra: girl in avatar- I don't know who she is ^_^; Chaos: Guy in Kill Adam signup Members: AzureWolf: Sasuke from Naruto Domon: God Gundam DeathBug: Jetstorm (Beast Machines) Bandit Joeykuba: Dark Magician Girl Wrist cutter: Yoshiharu Shiina Jokopoko: Starscream AJeh: Gitaroo Man PoisonTongue: Groucho Marx KarmaOfChaos: Hanajima from Fruit Baskets Leh: Guy from Halo BabyGirl: Faye Valentine Ben: Puppetmon doukeshi03: *insert character here* -I need one, heh. Raiha: *ditto* This is one of the reasons you've not been in it as much, Raiha. I don't actually know who you'd fit best as ^_^; I was thinking about Mystique (as in the X-Men films), but I didn't want to do anything much without asking, heh. So, if you have any personal requests and want to be in it, I need to know what you look like. It's easier than having a faceless character wandering around.
4. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Ishizu is not in any way interested in Kaiba, save to prove to him that history is repeating itself. The main reason she was interacting with him was to give him Obelisk anyway, and she entered the Battle City tournament to save Marik. Although she knew she was going to duel him, I doubt it was a perk.
5. I think Evangelion's certainly very controversial and influential, but to say it's the greatest might be pushing it in my view. I'd be inclined to agree anyway, but there are others I prefer above that, like Outlaw Star. It's simply a matter of taste and personal preference. It is a great series, though. There's a fantastic amount of depth to Evangelion, so much so that I doubt all of the animators even knew what they were doing at times. The characters, although flawed in themselves, are great to watch and the storyline's so intricate it took me three goes to finally understand everything. So it could be considered to be the greatest, but I prefer Outlaw Star, heh.
I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

6. I really like this story- the imagery in it always reminds me of Cowboy Bebop, hehe. For the first time I actually feel like watching that now ^_^; Anyway, this is good stuff. I know I helped edit it a bit, but even before I did I still really enjoyed reading it through. It's a great story basis that works well. I can't wait to read more ^_^ Good stuff, Syk! *throws present*
7. A new Chapter! It's two days later than I'd have liked, but I was constantly adding improvements to it, heh. Disclaimer: There is a difference between a Newbie and a 'n00b', as you will plainly see. I am not meaning to discriminate against Newbies or fans of DBZ. This is all meant in good humour, so if you think I might be referring to you and I've not mentioned you by name, I'm probably not. Anyway, this moves away from the in-jokes and becomes something slightly more universal, so hopefully people who've not been at OB for a huge amount of time will be able to enjoy it as much, heh. I'll try to add a bit more character diversity to the next few, heh. Here we go ^_^ Chapter 3: Attack of the n00bs An early morning on the OtakuBoards Island. The clouds were tinted an orange-pink colour by the rising sun in the East. Slowly, the shadows that hid the massive building started to fade away and were replaced by a vibrant light, full of hope and promise of a beautiful day. Inside the building, everything was calm. Seeing as there was no great rush to get to school or escape supervillains, most of the members were lying in their snug, fully customisable bedrooms. The garish backgrounds and wallpapers plastered all over some rooms was enshrouded in the calming darkness of sleep. The Moderators, however, were just starting to rise. They had to be up early to prepare their forums for their first proper day of use. ?GONG!? The sounds previously on OB would never be enough to rouse a sleeping male, so everyone had agreed that a much more affirmative noise had to be found. In complete synchronisation, the entire Staff team sprang out of bed upon hearing the noise and slammed their alarm clocks off. Queen Asuka looked longingly back at her bed. ?It?s so warm?? The plushies sitting on the shelves on her wall nodded in agreement, some still covering their ears at the shock of the gong. Sluggishly, the staff pulled themselves from their bedrooms. As each door opened a loud creaking noise echoed throughout the corridor. They looked down the line as one by one they appeared. Except Shinmaru. A small note on his door indicated that he?d gone to sleep in the Nintendo forum so he would be woken up to the sight of all those fantastic Ninty games lining the walls. The alarm still reached him, though. He kicked his duvet off him in a panic and looked around groggily. It took him a few seconds to realise where he was, and as soon as he did his face broke into a massive grin. Set inside Princess Peach?s Castle in the Mushroom Kingdom, he looked around him at the library- rather than books lining the shelves, they were stacked with Nintendo games from all formats- from GameCube to Virtual Boy. There was even a Nintendo Super Scope shooting range in the gardens. As he wandered back through the castle to the Otaku Lounge, he looked up at the massive cinema screen in the main hall. Four gleaming new GameCubes were linked together in a LAN connection, begging to be played on. A Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament was only inches away? Covering the walls were all kinds of magazines relating to the forum, along with game merchandise and paraphernalia stacked on shelves that reached almost to the ceiling. Shinmaru had already had to convince Desbreko not to steal an eight-inch Samus action figure from the Nintendo forum so that everyone else could see it. ?Well, if they came into my bedroom?? was Des?s reply. Reluctantly, he?d relented and left it where it was. Shinmaru sighed, his eyes watery with joy at his surroundings. Yep, this was heaven. A gastric rumble intimated that his stomach thought otherwise. Grabbing his bedclothes and shoving them behind the nearest statue, he began his search for breakfast. He hoped Spam wouldn?t be on the menu. * * * By about nine o?clock the rest of the boards were starting to come into life. Members wandered as they pleased to the Otaku Lounge, where Drix and Transtic were waiting for them on their extra-comfy cushioned seats. They were having an animated conversation about whether the various clubs they?d entered into their signatures were actually going to be started in the new board format. They tactfully ignored Drix?s own signature. In the Adventure Arena, terra, The Harlequin and Arcadia were testing out the equipment. The large oak double-doors to the Arena led into a very long, bright metallic corridor that looked to have come from the set of Star Trek. It stretched far into the distance, presumably proportional to the number of active RPGs. Doors led off from the corridor, on each was a title and a list of accepted players. Next to the main entrance was a set of computers in a glass-walled Internet café building (the café part being a vending machine that sold pretty much everything imaginable). They walked inside, investigating the equipment they?d be in charge of for the next indefinite period of time. Arcadia sat at a terminal and began typing out her own story. The computer made an electronic gurgling noise for a few minutes, then a new set of information appeared on the screen- Sign Up Information. Smiling at terra, she entered in some character information into and the door in front of her swung open: she had been accepted. The Harlequin and terra eagerly followed suit with their Character Bios and ran inside. They looked around- a brilliant white background illuminated them from all directions. ?Very Matrix.? The Harlequin murmured, shielding his eyes from the light. They thought for a moment. Their characters looked just like their descriptions, but there was no world to play in. ?Ah!? terra clicked her fingers in realisation. ?We?ve not described our location yet.? ?Great, I?ll do that.? Arcadia beamed, typing away at her personal computer. Immediately, the background changed into a lush, green forest. They smiled approvingly at each other and drew their weapons, ready to take on anything that might try and ambush them. * * * OtakuBot placed the final Private Message into a PM box on the top row of shelves and jumped to the floor, satisfied. ?Clunk?. A box of Private Messages, carried by Mini-Ken, fell heavily onto the desk in front of him. Mini-Ken gave a quick smirk and nipped away towards the Anime Lounge. OtakuBot knocked his head against the desk in frustration and set about putting the newly arrived lot in their places. As he filed away the last few, he heard the main doors swing open. He whirled round quickly, eager not to miss his viewing public. There were few who could resist the appeal of a Super Famicom disk, after all? except Shy. ?Welcome to-? he stopped mid-flourish. There was no one there. Frowning, he turned back to the PM Box shelves. A small, squeaky voice halted him. ?n00b.? ?What?? he looked over his shoulder to try and get a decent look at the owner of the voice. Seeing nothing, he slowly shoved the messages into their recipient?s boxes. ?n00b,? the voice repeated. He leapt round on his stepladder and looked around. He was just about to turn round again when he noticed something small and green sitting on his desk. It had the appearance of a frog, except its eyes were almost the size of its body. Well one was. The other was mismatched to it. It was covered in a violently green fur, which was all standing on end. Its tongue lolled out of its mouth, wet with dribble. ?n00b,? it chirruped. ?Ugh, how horrible.? The creature?s eyes suddenly grew in size. It?s mouth opened and a huge flame burst from his mouth and enveloped OtakuBot. When the barrage had finished, his bright white surface was a charred black. He blinked once, then collapsed. The n00b looked around shiftily, then disappeared in the direction of the forums. * * * Sara and Queen Asuka held their soft drinks carefully as they walked at a leisurely pace back towards the Anime Lounge, both smiling happily. ?I don?t think this is too bad,? Asuka thought out loud, sucking at her drink through a pink swirly straw. ?After all, we finally get to meet all of the other OB members in person.? ?Well?? Sara began. She certainly couldn?t complain, but she wondered how much like the characters everyone had chosen they actually looked like. She took a sip of her drink. ?Yeah, it is nice.? As they rounded the corner, something made them stop. Sitting in the middle of the corridor was the n00b. Its eyes widened even further as the two Moderators stared back at it. ?What is that?? they chorused. The n00b stared blankly back at them for a few seconds, then- ?OMG LOLOL UR TEH MODS AHAHAHAHA!? it shrieked at the top of its voice, smashing windows all around them and knocking the two of them to the floor. Sara pulled herself to her feet and took out her ModRod from her belt. ?Right, then.? She muttered, pointing it directly at the creature. A beam of light burst from the end and ?zapped? the n00b, frazzling its hair. Far from the result she was hoping for, Sara watched in surprise as two n00bs stared back at her, each with equally blank expressions. ?Oh dear.? * * * ??which allows me to summon to Giant Orcs and a Witch of the Black Forest.? Ben grinned widely as he placed his Yu-Gi-Oh cards on the surface in front of him, albeit rather clumsily with his stubby wooden hands- his chosen avatar was Puppetmon. Holographic images of the monsters appeared on the field, growling fiercely at their opponent. ?Your move.? ?Uhm?? Solo looked at the cards in his hand and thought for a moment. ?Well, I?ll set three trap cards face-down, and-? A loud burp resonated around the room. They looked at each other for a moment, then shrugged. There were some quite grotesque habits around the forums, so a yodel-belch wasn?t exactly a surprise. Ben watched his opponent?s move closely as he continued to set cards into various places on the field. As he watched, a huge yellow smiley face materialised behind Solo?s head, causing Ben to release a yelp of surprise. Solo jumped. ?Something wrong?? he asked, his hand hovering about the playing field. The smiley face had mysteriously disappeared. Slowly, Ben shook his head. He must have been seeing things. Solo continued with his move, his ears pricked for more noises. Another huge belch shook the room. The two of them looked round the high arena to determine who was making the noises. As they looked, a third colossal burp reverberated around the room and a group of three smiley faces floated from the floor to level with their arena, beaming widely at them. ?What on earth??? Solo gaped as the yellow sphere floated towards them. ?It?s a giant smiley face.? Ben said in a matter-of-fact way. The smilies above them changed from yellow grins to green faces, sticking their tongues out at them. ?I gathered that, but what are they doing here?? They all accordingly changed to orbed question marks in response. Another massive belch shook the forum and a fourth smiley floated up, this time a light blue ?sweatdrop? icon. The two of them leapt from their stages and ran to the corner of the room, where a green furry creature stared straight back at them. A fifth leviathan belch knocked them to the floor- this time two dark green orbs floated from the n00b?s mouth, each raising a sinister eyebrow at them. The smileys all whirled round to face them, their expressions simultaneously changing to that a fiery devil icon. Solo readied his ModRod. ?Damn, these are scary?? * * * ?ill sarve u!? ?Ahhahar! ull nerver stoop my armys!!1? A badly-drawn explosion buffeted the Adventure Arena, destroying the main enemy and about five of the participants, who materialised outside the door, looking dazed. Arcadia shook herself and approached the figure that had entered the RPG without permission, reverting to her normal (if rather angry) self- Hitomi of Esclaflowne. She brandished her ModRod at the figure, who turned to face her- a two-dimensional character stared back at her, with no defining features. It was holding a non-descript sword and had a blank expression. ?Get out of my RPG.? She growled. ?STFU!? the figure roared, and immediately began screaming obsceneties at her at the top of its voice. Terra took up her sword and stabbed the character in the back. It didn?t move, but turned to face her, its blank expression hardening to an even more intense blank stare. The n00bs were getting angry. Random threads began popping up all over the OtakuBoards building, most of them complaining about the state of the Moderating staff and how bad the site and its rules were. OtakuBot wished he had some hair that he could tear out as he tried throwing all of the spam Private Messages out of the members? PM boxes, only to find them replaced by a dozen more afterwards. He let out a pained groan. * * * BANG! Six n00bs careened through the DragonBall forum doorway, their fur a charred black and their eyes watering in shock. Jinzouningen17 slammed the door shut behind him, the end of his ModRod still smoking. The sight that greeted him was not pretty. Hundreds of n00bs filled the Anime Forums corridors, all chattering pointless information at each other, plastering the walls with pointless threads and swearing at the tops of their voices. The burnt ones gave him evil glares, such that if looks could kill he?d be left with a mild headache, then reached behind their backs. A volley of spam lumps splattered on his outfit, leaving a sticky pink mess. All of the other n00bs turned to face him and reached behind their backs as well. He dived for cover behind a flowerbed, narrowly avoiding being hit by more spam, which thundered into the ground like?spam. He crawled behind the raised bed to where Sara, Queen Asuka and Chaos taking shelter. Chaos was looking dejectedly at a pair of machine guns in his lap. ?Where?d these guys all come from?? Jinzou asked, poking his head out to see the legions of n00bs hopping down the corridor. Asuka gave Chaos a hard nudge and he frowned. ?How was I to know they multiplied every time you nuked them?? A loud ?thunk? followed by a noise resembling bowling pins being knocked over made them look round. A gigantic smiley face had been bowled directly into the swarm of n00bs. Ben whirled his large wooden hammer through the air with triumph, grinning. Behind him, Solo was kicking away n00bs that were swarming all over him holding electric shearing tools and threatening to take his ?furre? off. Semjaza?s voice crackled through an Instant Message system on Sara?s wrist. ?And I thought we?d deleted the Newbie Lounge?? he said, before a handful of spam caked the screen. Something clicked inside Sara?s head. She leapt from behind the flowerbed and sprinted through the n00bs, being careful not to squash any in case they flamed her. She fell into the OtakuBoards Moderators forum- so far the only place safe from the n00bs? invasion. James, Adam and Charles were figuring out a plan of action to try and get rid of them all. ?PoisonTongue?s got about forty hypnotised by his arguments in the Otaku Lounge, Mitch is hunting down the ones in the Literature forum; most of the others are in the Anime section.? James mumbled, pointing at a map on the table. ?We?ve got a lot more cookied bizatch to make yet.? Charles hummed, stroking his chin. Sara pulled herself to her feet and cleared her throat to gain their attention. ?I have an idea.? * * * A covert gathering of Moderators stood in one of the few clear corridors in OtakuBoards- the one leading to the Event Arena. Dotted along the walls were huge numbers of signposts reading ?Newbie Lounge?, all pointing to a single open doorway at the end. Inside was an empty room. ?You?re sure this will work?? Shy whispered, rubbing the back of his head where a tin of spam had been hurled at him. ?It better.? Sara replied gravely. ?Here they come!? Arcadia hissed from the adjoining passageway. She smiled uncomfortably as the n00bs started cascading past her, all drawn towards the Newbie Lounge. One stopped at Ken?s feet. ?lol hi i r am teh n00b and I lik ur site its 2 cool how is evry1gd gd i stay 4 ere long time ahaha I luv iny-uasha hes so coool but guko i s carp i h8 dzb salmonella.? It squeaked loudly, before burping a line of random smiley faces. He gave it a hefty kick with his foot and it rolled into the open door. When the last one had entered, Charles peered inside. About three hundred threads sprang out of nowhere and completely obscured everything else inside. He slammed the door. He, James and Adam all pointed their AdminRods at the door and a bright blue bolt of electricity shot from the ends. The doorway disappeared in a blast of smoke. Everyone held their breath for a second. No one dared move. After several tense minutes with no sign of a quiet ?n00b? noise, they all collapsed onto the floor with a sigh of relief. Far up the other end of the corridor, a pair of wide eyes stared at them from a ventilation shaft. ?n00b?? it croaked, disappearing into the darkness. * * * Elsewhere in the OtakuBoards building, a sinister shape looked around hungrily. As it sidled into a new thread, it let out an evil, mechanical laugh. ?|0|?? ------- About the soap opera: I was thinking of making a more serious set of stories that could be really exciting, but comedy gives slightly more leeway for people's characters. There will be an Otaku Prom chapter, though ^_~
8. Welcome to OtakuBoards, darkone. Be sure to read the Rules thread in the OtakuBoards Information Center before you post too much. if you have any questions, feel free to PM either myself or any of the other site Moderators. Anyway, questions about cards should go in the The Yu-Gi-Oh CARD Advice Thread at the top of the page. But, if you want a decent answer to this question, a very old discussion can be found here: Cards better than Exodia For now, I'm going to close this thread as it's not needed here anymore. I hope this has helped.
9. RioLaskand and Blanko- you're both accepted, hehe. Thanks again for signing up, everyone. I'll still be recruiting for a few more days, but I'll start the RPG up over the weekend. Don't forget!
10. Just before Renamon telaported the huge army of Digimon, Flamedramon released his grip from the one next to him, sending only three other Digimon along with Renamon. The others looked perplexed as he began striding towards the mountainside. "But... why did you-?" "She would have deleted herself if she'd tried teleporting all of us," he said abruptly. "Better to have a few heavy troops in there first rather than risk not having anyone at all." He pointed at some of the faster creatures. "Go on ahead- give them all the support you can." Overhead he could see some Pteramon flying in formation over the mountain ridges in the distance. he signalled to a large section of the group and made a signal with his claw. "Get around the side of the mountain and lead a counter-attack from that side. We'll meet you on the battlefield once we get over the peak." Obediently, the digimon ran to a valley pass to head off the attacking forces. Looking to the rest, he threw his arm forwards again. "Now, as fast as you can- CHARGE!" The army of digimon hurtled through the trees, some almost catapulting themselves up the slope to get to the battlefield. Flamedramon was determined not to lose. They had to get there in time. His metal claws plunged into the earth as they sprinted through the trees. The mountain was small and grassy- less of a challenge for some of the smaller troops. On the other side he knew what would be facing him- Concitomon. His armour glinted dangerously in the light as he ran, bearing his teeth in preparation for battle.
11. shorty, we don't need another Made-up cards thread. The other one works just as well for God Cards. Thread closed.
12. I just have a little bit more to do for Chapter 3, which will be here tomorrow. I'm going out tonight, so I've no time to revise the draft. But in the meantime, I have a little something I wrote for a chapter idea that I've pretty much scrapped for the time being. I might try writing it again if I can think of a better plot, but not right now. If anyone remembers the old Gladiators series that used to be on ITV some years ago, you'll probably recognise this more. It's a parody of that song. Here we go: THE [strike]GLADI[/strike] MODERATORS! Do you feel the power of the Moderators? Can you face the challenge of the SuperMods? Do you have the quality of a member? Do you have the knowledge and the skill? Do you have the speed, the strength, the heart to be Otaku? It's not for the n00bs. Deep down in your soul... Are you a Moderator? Gotta post like you?re over eight. Gotta face the fire of the debate. Gotta give your all to win. Ready or not, let the challenge begin. Can you match the strength of the Moderators? Do you have anime within you? Do you have the posts of a king? Do you have the colour in your text? Now it's time to race, it's face-to-face, get on the forum now. There's no abbreviations here. Your future's on the line. Are you a Moderator? Gotta type with lightning speed. Use the words for what you need. Gotta keep it to the topic. Gotta love it, love to fight the spam. Do you feel the power of the Moderators? Can you face the challenge of the champions? Show the stuff you're made of. Can you edit the fate of... The Moderators? Can you challenge the Moderators? Will you take on the Moderators? Will you be the new champion? The Moderators! The premise of the chapter was that Members would go against Moderators in a series of weird events, but I couldn't think of a decent way of pulling it off. I really like the song though, so I thought I'd keep it, hehe. Stay tuned ^_^
13. Sorry I'm late, heh. ---------------------------------------------------------- The sky was darkening. The black clouds swirled overhead in the distance, casting an ominous shadow over the forests of the Digital World. An ill wind ripped through the forest- a sign of imbalance. Flamedramon took a deep breath, not taking his eyes from the eye of the cloud whirlpool. Several Dark Masters had come and gone in his time, and each one had been seen off with little trouble. This one should be no different, whoever it was. "So this is it..." he growled. The forest around him seemed to shake in reply, the wind buffeting its leaves and brances. He chanced a look behind him as an Agumon sprinted to meet him. "Sir!" he yelled. "Minions have started pouring from the dark castle!" "Where?" Flamedramon barked, striding back to where this division of the Digital World's elite army was lying in wait. The Agumon struggled to keep up with his brisk pace. "They...'re over the other side... of the mountain to the North." he panted, almost tripping over several tree roots while following Flamedramon. "Send a message to the non-combat support units- have them wait at the base of the mountain. We're likely to take heavy casualties." The dragon Digimon tore branches from the trees which were in his way- he'd have time to apologise to their inhabitants later. The Agumon nodded affirmatively and darted into the undergrowth. Flamedramon broke into a run- they had to be quick. If they let this creature get any kind of foothold in the Digital World their battle would become a lot harder. They had to eliminate him hard and fast. And for good, this time. He broke into a clearing, where hundreds of obedient digimon were anxiously awaiting his command. Leaping onto the back of an obliging Tortomon, he gave his address. "There is an evil force invading the sanctity of the Digital World." he bellowed. The digimon amassed in front of him tensed. "His minions have attacked the land over by the mountains to the North. Are you ready to destroy him?" Howls, growls and ferocious roars of approval shook the forest. Flamedramon raised his fiery claw into the air and pointed forwards. "Let's go!"
14. It's up to them to join and make the RPGs anyway- in the same way we can't stop people from posting about anime series or games that they shouldn't be playing, we can't really stop anyone from signing up for them. It's the responsibility of the applicant to know what they should or shouldn't be doing.
15. Sorry for the delays, guys- shadowfire, take it away.
16. Thanks for answering, guys. In future, shorty, questions about cards should go in the Yu-Gi-Oh CARD Advice Thread at the top of the page. It's really not that hard to find. But God Cards aren't tournament legal anyway, so you can only really use them in a casual Deck. Thread closed.

18.
PENGUINS!!! OMG
I deleted this post because it was utterly pointless and against the rules. Regardless of whether or not it's actually relevant to the Latest Episode of Yu-Gi-Oh it still neds explanation. Don't post like this again. And please don't encourage off-topic discussion, ILoveBebop. This isn't about penguin-related theme parks.
19. "...everyone knows what you are." Alaris raised an eyebrow and shook his head slightly, a sly smile spreading across his face. At least the rest of the Elders seemed to take it in good humour. Toothless old rags weren't the best leaders, after all. And he had fewer teeth than most. Alaris breathed in deeply. This war wouldn't allow gaps for any weaknesses. Soon, too soon perhaps for his liking, he'd have to go back and prepare the Armadillo army for the battles ahead. All led by him. The High Elder shook his shoulders in irritation and glared around the room. The stifled laughter dissipated, but many still wore smug smirks on their faces. "Anything else you wish to add before this Council of War gets underway?" he hissed at the group standing below them, not taking his eyes from Rena.
20. I think the context of the relationship has to be taken into account here. A long-distance relationship is a very hard thing to keep alive when you've got so many other 'outlets' for a relationship. The fundemental thing about being with someone is that you are actually with them, and even if you're saving yourself for someone so far away, the physical companionship isn't there to gratify when you might need it. I'm not trying to justify it per se, but there are other things to take into account. You can't say that any one person's morals are completely sound all of the time. You might think and know it's wrong, but it's really just a simple biological process that will most likely out over most others under the right conditions. EDIT: Okay, I think I'm being a bit pessimistic here, but it's been bothering me for a while. I guess male hormones are harder to ignore. Which makes biological sense- it's more economical for men to have hundreds of partners than women, seeing as they have to bear the child and men don't. It makes for a better chance of offspring surviving if a female can find a partner that will stay and protect the offspring and provide for her. For men, if they stay with one partner, they have a better chance of their genes being taken onto the next generation. Some psychologist/researcher (probably Darwin) said that altruism was selfish on the level of the genes: i.e. creatures would help those closer to themselves to preserve a greater number of their genes being incorporated into the next generation. So in fact, if they wanted to have thei genes in as many offspring as possible, a male could run around and have as many partners as possible- although because they won't stay to protect the child or the mother they all have a lesser chance of surviving. That isn't very socially acceptable, either. A lot of species do mate for life, and I think it's a much more preferable way of doing things. But when you throw in personality, society and all that jazz, everything gets so much more complicated. Either way I don't think infidelity is necessarily right, but somewhat inevitable in some cases.
21. Wondershot, Stick Fairy and Raiha- welcome aboard ^_^ Good stuff. Hayate- unfortunately I can't accept you now as the post quality stands- it's incredibly confusing to make out a lot of the details there. If you can improve it I'll consider putting you in. T man- Much the same, although to a slightly lesser extent. A little editing wouldn't go amiss. I hope I'm not sounding too harsh, but I want to be able to have a decent cast for the RPG. This is the first time I've set out proper 'standards' for an RPG, as it were. The sign-ups are still open, although ideally I don't want too many more Ctarl-Ctarls in the line-up. They are certainly cool, but there are plenty of other races to choose from around and about. Making up your own race is fine, by the way. I did, so it wouldn't be fair of me not to let you to as well, heh.
22. Here's part 2 of Chapter five ^_^ After this is completely new- I've swapped around the sections where they go to the Digital Worlds and back to Tokyo. So here we go. One more week and I'll have an entirely new piece for you, hehe. Thanks for reading, guys. You've no idea how much it means to me. ---------------------- Chapter 5: Shadows of Fear (continued) The Tuskmon disappeared in a flash of light, giving a shriek of pain as the sword swung through its neck. The creature whirled the weapon triumphantly over his head and faced the Mammothmon, whose charge had slowed apprehensively. Wiping the saliva from his lips, he opened his wings and lunged forwards, the blade held out in front of him like a lethal arrowhead of light. The digimon didn?t even have time to turn away. The wolf digimon crashed through its upper body and it vaporised the instant he burst through its back. A red light flashed in the corner of the huge arena and the doors at either side opened again. ?The test is over. Return him to the detention cell.? The voice hissed though the speakers. He could see the things running towards him. People. Where they trying to attack him too? He raised his blade again and swung it at the nearest human. He crumpled to the ground and the others immediately broke away. Guns. They all produced large assault rifles form their backs and aimed them directly at him. But he wasn?t afraid any more. He could feel an energy building up inside him. The blade of his sword began to glow so brightly the humans could no longer see. It began shaking violently, streaks of white lightning burst from the tip, splitting the air around him. ?What?s happening?? the voice sounded afraid. ?Stop him!? The bullets crashed into his chest. He flinched, but the pain was nothing to him. He could feel his body starting to vibrate violently; all around him was a white light. Spreading his wings, he took flight and thundered upwards, through the rock above him and into the sky, to freedom? * * * Aidan pointed the point of the arrow along the corridors ahead of them, straining his eyes to see into the darkness. If that creature could decimate a human regiment in seconds, he didn?t want to take any chances. ?Anything?? Gabumon called from behind him. ?No, nothing here. We?re safe.? Matt dropped backwards onto the floor, quaking with fear as the creature loomed over him, its blades quivering in the darkness. Slowly it leant over him, one blade positioned inches from his neck. He could feel the sweat running down his forehead as it turned a curious eye to his. The blade withdrew, and she sniffed at his visor. A three-fingered hand pressed against his shoulder while the other rested on the top of his helmet. It was as if he was being investigated. Was it the digivice she could sense? As slowly as he could manage and resisting the violent shivering running over his body, he reached into the pocket of his trousers and brought the digivice into the light. The creature?s eyes lit up with excitement as it saw the glowing object in front of her. Just as she reached for it, something stopped her. ?Get away from him!? a husky voice yelled. Gabumon flew at her, his claws outstretched and his teeth bared viciously. Her body tensed; she rolled downwards and kicked him from behind, forcing him into Matt. She stood upright to see a glowing arrow pointing directly between her eyes. ?Don?t move.? Aidan said quietly. The creature froze, glaring intently at her opponent. The blades on her hands slid out. The arrow flew through the empty air and crashed into the wall opposite. Just as Aidan turned to see where she?d gone, the creature crashed into his flank. He fell sideways and cracked his head on the metal girder supporting the corridor. She stood over him triumphantly, her blades aimed directly at his neck. She drew her arms back, ready to make the final hit. A whirring noise pierced the air- she felt something collide with the armour on her back. Spinning round, she saw MetalArmadillomon. She gave him a swift kick with her bladed foot. He sent a crack running down the wall where he struck the concrete. She turned back to Aidan. Boom! A searing pain exploded through the creature?s left shoulder. Shaking, she put a hand up to the wound. The pain was immense, almost overwhelming. Matt ran forwards, his hands tightly gripping the still-smoking rifle. Aidan groaned and shook his head. The creature shied away when he moved himself into a kneeling position opposite her. Her eyes watered slightly. She closed them tightly and held her shoulder tightly. She wanted it to stop hurting. He looked at the poor creature in front of him. Only a few seconds ago nothing could stop it. She looked on the verge of passing out. He held out a hand to her. ?Let me see that.? The energy she sense in him was similar to that of the other creature?s, except? She collapsed backwards. Everything around her was starting to float away. Aidan moved closer and inspected the wound, grimacing. ?What should I do?? he asked. Matt looked around to see if there was anything that could aid them. ?Your bandanna.? He said urgently. ?Tie it around her wound.? Aidan untied it from his neck obligingly and reached out to touch her arm again. Suddenly, a flash of white light burst from his fingertips and sparked onto the wound, which instantly sealed itself. The creature?s eyes flicked back to alertness. She wiggled her shoulder tentatively. Seeing it was no longer hurting, she gave a look to Aidan that was close to a smile. Aidan couldn?t help but smile back. ?You alright now?? he asked. She didn?t answer. She cocked her head, as if studying him. Her purple and green armour shone in the light of Aidan?s bowstring. Its wavy articulation rippled as she moved, glinting like waves on the sea at night. Aidan stood up and held his hand out to her. She looked at it, puzzled, and then picked herself up. Matt watched the two of them curiously. ?Do you two know each other?? Aidan gave him a wry look. ?No. But she was created by Naraku in the same way I was.? MetalArmadillomon clattered to the floor beside them, groggily trying to right himself. Gabumon looked up at Matt, his face alight with relief. He was so glad to finally be back with him. ?We should try and find a way out now.? He said quietly. Matt nodded in agreement. ?Judging by what some of the soldiers were saying, the vehicle bay has a separate power system, so that should still be online. If we can steal a boat we could get out of here without any trouble.? ?Shall we go?? MetalArmadillomon asked, un-bending one of his spines. Suddenly, the creature tensed. Thunderous footsteps shook the structure around them, sending more concrete splashing to the floor. They didn?t wait any longer. Aidan grabbed the digimon?s arm and the five of them sprinted down the corridor. Behind them, they could hear the footsteps quicken, accompanied by the ominous thudding of boots on metal- more human troops. Matt shone his shoulder lamp onto the walls as they ran, desperately looking for a sign directing them towards the vehicle bay. The wall next to MetalArmadillomon exploded as bullets ploughed into it. The humans were gaining on them. They rounded a corner, and almost collided with a heavy set of thick metal fire door. Through the blast-proof windows, they could see light. That had to be the section with the vehicle bay inside it. ?Open the door!? Aidan yelled, his Light Shield bursting into life. ?I would if I knew how!? Matt growled back, studying the controls on the wall next to him. Bullets began to ricochet from the shield. The creature watched as Matt frantically jabbed buttons on the panel in vain. The power was out on this side- it would only open from the other way. The bullet shots came in harder- masses of bullets were flying towards them, all with deadly intent. Aidan slipped back with the force of another gun being added to the fray. ?Hurry!? Matt swore as the cover of the control panel broke off in his hands. The creature pushed him out of the way and pushed against the heavy bulk of metal. With a ferocious roar, she plunged her blades into the metal and pulled her arms upwards. The door buckled, then completely ripped away from its hinges. Carrying it on her hands, she turned round and hurled it in the direction of the humans. It flew over Aidan?s head and careened into the troops. Screams of confusion filled the air as the group turned away, sprinting up the metal slope to the vehicles. ?Idiots!? Naraku screamed, moving the suit forwards. The huge feet of the leviathan cyborg crushed on any soldiers unfortunate enough to get in the way. He was no longer on a rescue mission. A red crosshair appeared in his eye and the barrels of the chainguns whirled in anticipation as he stomped through the tunnels? MetalArmadillomon reached the vehicle bay first, and jumped at the sight of the hundreds of tanks standing before them. At the far end of the room, barely visible in the dim orange light, was the lift that transported them to the battleships. He pointed over to the ones at the far end. ?Come on!? he yelled, running on ahead. ?The quicker we take one of these the quicker we can leave.? The others followed behind him, but the female digimon stopped as they passed the third row of machines. ?What is it?? Aidan yelled. A volley of bullets lacerated the tank to his left. The two of them leapt out of the way, seeing Naraku?s maniacal mechanical form glaring back at them. ?I could put up with your treachery for only so long, Solarismon. Give her back to me!? Aidan drew his sword. ?Matt, get the others into a tank and get out. I?ll hold Naraku off.? He bellowed. The creature watched as the two of them exchanged steely glares, neither one willing to back down. Naraku fired the guns again. The bullets crashed into the floor where Aidan was standing- he rolled away just in time. He took to the air and flew straight towards the gigantic mechanoid, sword blazing. Naraku?s bladed arm rose to meet Aidan?s sword- the two clashed with a deafening crash. Naraku?s machine swaggered backwards and Aidan was catapulted into a tank, leaving a hefty dent in its armour. The digimon clenched her fists. What should she do? Naraku regained his composure and shot a glare at the creature. ?Come with me, Tempestmon. You know me, I don?t want to hurt you.? He said, his voice seething with desperation. The creature held a hand to her chest at the mention of her name. Should she stay? He seemed oddly familiar. Aidan pulled himself from the floor. ?Don?t listen to him- He?ll only try and use you to kill! Run away!? Tempestmon looked at him frantically and edged closer to Aidan. A volley of bullets shattered the floor between the two of them. ?Stay away from him!? Naraku screamed. ?He?ll lead you to a ruined half-life where all you?ll do is rot in your own fetid nightmare.? He spat a moutful of saliva onto the floor. ?They destroyed the world, Tempestmon. Together we can rebuild it.? He held out his gigantic robotic hand to her, his cold eyes now showing a hint of desperation. Tempestmon looked at the hand and stepped forwards slowly. As she edged closer, the hand reached out to her. Like a child returning to its father. A whistling noise from the far side of the room distracted her. She turned round just in time to duck underneath the missile which detonated upon hitting Naraku?s chest. ?You two, get in here!? Matt yelled through the loudspeaker. Aidan grabbed Tempestmon?s arm and the two of them sprinted to the tank. MetalArmadillomon kicked open the hatch and they clambered in as the engines roared into life. The tank rumbled into the lift and the doors slammed shut behind them. From the floor, Naraku?s machine sparked wildly. His hands began to shake uncontrollably as rage swept over his entire body. He let out a painful scream as his second creation slipped through his fingertips. * * * The boat cut through the calm waves swiftly, the only object visible on an ocean coloured a bright orange by the sunset over in the West. Matt looked at his digivice to try and get a reading on the others. He hoped they?d been able to get back to Tokyo safely. He jabbed a few buttons to adjust the screen setting, then clipped it into his ancient D-Terminal. On the screen came a large map of the now-reformed world. Much of the upper hemisphere was now joined together- what was America and Europe were now one huge supercontinent, the land divided by different terrain much like File Island was. They were drifting off course. The last thing the needed now was to get caught up in Digimon waters. He set about steering the boat in the right direction, when the D-Terminal started bleeping. Confused, Matt took hold of it and pressed the button. He had e-mail. As he read it, his hands began to shake. He broke into a cold sweat, and his knees suddenly felt weak. The D-Terminal dropped to the floor. ?T.K?? TO BE CONTINUED?
23. In terms of speed... isn't 50cc the slowest/easiest level to start off with in MK games? It's possible the other cc levels have a greater deal of speed and power behind the karts. Anyway, I'm glad it's fun. I await its arrival at my house with great anticipation, then ^_^ Although my copy wasn't delivered to me today, so I have to wait until Monday *sulks* At least it gives me time to learn those lines...

The cloaked man strode silently into the Pokemon Gym. He walked straight past the Reception Desk. The woman standing there barely noticed him as he moved. She looked round in time to see his shadow disappearing round a corner. Shrugging it off, she went back to her work. He came to a small room at the back, where a muscular man was leaning against a wall, chewing a toothpick nervously. He spat it out of his mouth as soon as the shadowy figure came into view. "Took you long enough. I thought you guys were never late," he growled, grabbing hold of the towel around his shoulders and tugging it anxiously. The man stared deeply into his eyes. "We arrive when we need to arrive. We are never late," his voice was barely more than a whisper, but the authority in it made the man tremble slightly. "Do you have it?" The Gym Leader flustered slightly, then produced a large padded envelope from the ground next to him. "It's all there." he muttered through gritted teeth. The cloaked man wiped some of his orange hair away from his forehead and felt the weight of the package. "Are you sure?" he sneered. "It seems a little light to me." The man stepped backwards, his eyes widening in fear. "W-what do you mean? I got him everything he wants? What more can I give?" The cloaked man whipped a sharp knife from his pocket and thrust it towards the man's neck. "It pays to give a little extra if you know what's good for you," he hissed. The man flicked another envelope from his pocket and it landed at the Rocket member's feet. He slowly reached down for it and slipped it into his jacket. "A pleasure doing business with you." With a wave of his cloak, he vanished. The man wiped his face with the towel and swore under his breath. How did he get into these situations? * * * The door to the roof of the Gym burst open and he stepped outside, his cloak blowing about him in the wind. he jabed a button on a device on his wrist and hissed into it. "Gen, where are you? I've picked up the package. We need to get back to Giovanni." No answer. He punched the button again. "Dammit, Gen! If you can hear me, meet me by the train station at the Iron Mines in five minutes." He produced a small grappling hook from his pocket and fired it at a wall in the distance. It shot into the brickwork like a knife through butter and held fast. Giving it a quick test tug, he leapt off the roof of the Gym and swung into the streets...
25. I love anime music ^_^ I have about 29 soundtracks at the moment (not all from different series, though), and I'll be getting two more when the Outlaw Star ones come in. For orchestral music, I love the Pokemon BGM. It was the very first Japanese CD I bought and I still listen to it after five years. Myuutsu no Tanjo (Birth of Mewtwo, the first Pokemon Movie etc) has some fantastic stuff on it- it really rivals the music of composers like John Williams, I think. It might not have the same size orchestra, but can have just as much depth and action in it. Zoids Chaotic Century/Guardian Force is another of my favourites- the music's mostly synthesised but sound great anyway. It's got a lovely energetic sound to it and is orchestrated so well you wouldn't know it was necessarily keyboard-generated. Evangelion's another great one- lots of rather obscure pieces here, but still great. Outlaw Star is one I really can't wait to get- the action music in there's fantastic, as are the character themes. I won't go on about all the other serii I've seen, heh ^_^; As for main themes: Through The Night- Outlaw Star Voice, Kawaita Sakebi, one or two of the others that Jinzou mentioned from the original Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh series Yu-Gi-Oh- US dub opening theme Together with the Wind- Pokemon 1st Movie Japanese ending theme Cruel Angel's Thesis- Evangelion Infinity- Lost Universe opening theme Wild Flowers, Chase, Song For... -Zoids opening/ending themes Slayers themes (I don't know their names, but they're on a StarChild Collection CD I have) You Get to Burning- Martian Successor Nadesico opening theme Hemisphere- RahXephon opening theme After, In The Dark- Macross Plus ending theme I Want Out- Generator Gawl opening theme Closet Freak- Hareluya II BOY closing theme That's about it for the moment, I think. I don't like making huge long lists as posts generally, but as this thread often pops up I'll use it as reference. I'll just quote this post and edit it next time, heh.
