Originally posted by Snodin 1.) I would say it goes to your opponent, who is controlling it as a Magic card. Only if it were to be destroyed by Heavy Storm would it go into your graveyard, because not only is it dead, but your opponent loses control of it altogether.
(This applies to 4, too) Giant Trunade returns all Magic and Trap cards to their owner's hands- the question is, when a Magic card is under your opponent's control but comes from your Deck, who does it return to? It's not destroyed at all. I always gathered that Giant Trunade meant the effects of all face-up magic and Trap cards were then null as of when it was played, so if played when Toon World was on the field, the Toons would be destroyed. I could be wrong- I don't play with Toons and I can't seem to find the link to UD's tournement rules site anymore to look up the rulings.
2.) It depends on what the card says. If it says that she has to be destroyed by a monster in battle, then that's the only way her effect would work. However, I don't think cards like Raigeki or Dark Hole work on her anyway, because then the one who played Dark Necrofear would have to target one of your monsters- and in Dark Hole's case, there are no monsters to target. So I don't think Magic/Spell cards work.
DN's effect is activated "if destroyed as a result of Battle or by your opponent's Card Effect". I was just wondering which card effects it meant, heh. Obviously, if it was removed from play without being destroyed it wouldn't count, because it's not destroyed. But I see what you mean about Dark Hole.
4.) You need to understand the effect of Giant Trunade. Like I said above, I don't think you regain control of Sword Hunter's victims, because Giant Trunade does NOT negate or destroy the effects of the cards returned to the player's hand.
But if they're not on the field, are they still in play? Their effects shouldn't (in theory) be active from the hand, so as soon as hey leave the field I gathered their effects were void. I'm not trying to argue, I just want to clarify. Card rulings can be incredibly confusing things, heh.

I have some questions, if someone would be so kind: 1: My opponent destroys my Mystical Knight of Jackal with Sword Hunter (with Gaia Power as a boost, in case you're wondering). My Mystical Knight then goes to his side of the field, where it is treated as a Spell magic Card. If I play Giant Trunade, whose hand does it go back to, mine or my opponent's? I figured that because it was my card, I'd get it back. But he thought it'd go to him, seeing as it was under his control. Advice, please. 2. Dark Necrofear is destroyed by Raigeki. Is her effect still activated? 3. Can Curse of Royal be chained against Seven Tools of the Bandit and Magic Jammer? 4. What happens to a card put out of play via Different Dimension capsule if DDC is returned ot the owner's hand by Giant Trunade? Thanks in advance ^_^

I never know what to say either- usually I say nothing at all and ride out the conversation until it changes to a more agreeable subject. It does annoy me that people can't be more open about things- if the problem's really that bad, why not try and say something to them about it? It'd probably help everyone in the end. The problem comes with avoiding confrontation- people don't want to offend or get into trouble with the other person because it's a hassle. Conversely, the confrontation would probably be a lot less worse if they talk about it earlier. I must admit, there are times when I have to get things off my chest about someone (I doubt anyone can say they've never had a problem with one of their friends), but if I do I don't mouth off about them behind their backs to a whole troop of people, and I don't ever make out that I'm not their friend. It's usually about how I interact with them anyway, as opposed to a character 'fault', as it may be perceived. I think the best thing to do is to stay neutral unless it gets to a point where the person complaining is being unreasonably nasty and you feel someone's going to get severely hurt as a result. In which case, I'd talk to them about why they dislike them, try and talk it over and work it out. That seems the most diplomatic way.

Nathan, please try and improve your post quality. Posts that short and non-directional are considered spam. Not to mention there's no punctuation in there, making it ever worse to have to read. This thread could prove interesting though, and that's the sole reason I'm leaving it open. So long as people go into detail about their Decks and the details surrounding their successes/weaknesses, I don't mind. But don't post your Deck here. I will delete your post if you do, because the Rate My Deck thread's only up the page. Anyway, I'm not that religious about keeping a record for my Deck, most likely because I haven't got a proper tournament one outside of my online Duels. Because there's no-one round here who plays by those rules- I duel with one friend, and that's too casual to count.

Let's talk about ....., baby... (Mature Themes)
Originally posted by AzureWolf I don't know... I've always seen premarital sex as selfish, relativistically speaking. If you are willing to go that far with someone and still not marry them, there has to be something wrong in the relationship. Why don't you marry them if they are that central to you? I don't think time would be such a demanding factor.
There has to be an element of physical attraction in a relationship, otherwise it won't work. The main point is that sex is meaning a lot less than it used to- way back when, people (usually women) could be very severely punished for having sex before they were meant to. Now it's not nearly so big a deal- people are reproducing left, right and centre. I'm not saying that's a good thing by any means, it's just another sign of the times. I don't think sex is something to be taken lightly- although it might not be the biggest step in a relationship, it's certainly an important one, and a very important decision for anyone to make. But if both partners consent to it and are careful then I shouldn't see it as being a problem. If one objects, then the other should be able to respect their choice. If they don't, that's where the problem lies. I'm still a virgin, but I know I'd never have sex unless I was sure it was both what I and my partner wanted. Since sex is supposedly the ultimate expression of emotional bonding, that itself is probably the biggest step towards getting married. If it doesn't feel right, it might be a big clue that you're not with the right person. I understand that it does mean a lot to some people, so I'm not trying to quash anyone's views, heh. This is just what I think. Marriage is a much larger step in a relationship than sex, I think. Especially as that's where you will most likely formally decide whether to have children and start a life together with your partner. That said, some people get married without having children (like my aunt and uncle), so sex might not be a big part of it anyway. It all depends on who you are, much like almost everything else in life. Damn, I've forgotten what I was going to say next >.> Probably wasn't very intelligent, heh. -

Jinzouningen17 is too cool ^_^
Originally posted by Charles Wow, I almost forgot about that. I was a huge TMNT fanatic. At one point, I had every figure and playset. The quality of the figures was disappointing though. Did you ever notice that the quality was lesser than that of the models pictured on the packaging?
That's still true of the US-released Digimon figures by Bandai. The amount of pain they skimp on is disgusting. I usually get the Japan-made ones. Yeah, they cost a little more, but what you get is a much better toy. I think the US market focuses more on selling more toys to more people at a lower quality rather than less at a better quality. Damn mass-marketing...
I had the same problem with the brain character. He would never fit into his body properly. The plastic window would always pop out.
Heh, Krang... I never had him. He always freaked me out too much. Not just the little pink squidgy thing, but the guy who carried him was really odd, too. Nothing in comparison to a lot of things in anime nowadays, but back then it was creepy. Like Chorlton and the Wheelies... -
heh, I hadn't realised do many people came from the UK here. Or there, as the case might be. I live in a very small village called Hambrook, near the city of Chichester, at the very South of England. It's quite a nice place, if not for the fact that there's not much to do without a five-mile drive/walk/train ride involved. I've lived here my entire life, although my parent used to live in London. It's not considered a dump as far as I know (not to the extent that Swindon or Bognor Regis are, anyway), although the fortnightly rubbish collection might have you thinking otherwise. Damn City Council >.> My accent's what most people might call posh, because I don't use much slang. It's Recieved Pronunciation by definition, so there's not really an accent to it. Pretty boring, in a sense.

Ah, we did actually get to see them already, heh ^_^; They've been broadcast since this morning.
The bit where Misty got her bike back and Ash split from her and Brock was really sad- I guess that's those two completely gone from the series for good now. As I gather from the trailer on the Pokemon 4Ever DVD they're not in Movie 5. Ah well. Jesse and James still feature (although somewhat pointlessly- their roles never seem to change. Although the characters are enjoyable, it'd be nice to see them doing something different. The jokes are getting somewhat old now.
I actually missed most of the episodes they showed today, but Ash was riding in a sidecar on Officer Jenny's motorbike. I've not seen May either, heh.

I think Scrubs is one of the best comedy series ever made. I really like it- the humour's really great, but that's not the only reason why it's good. There are a lot of much more poignant scenes, usually ones dealing with death and relationships that give it a fantastic diversity. It's a really thoughtful series in that way, and often presents things in a way I've not thought about them before. I think it actually does it far more effectively than in series like Casualty because it just seems more... human, really. The characters in other emergency-room based series are all too serious and the melodrama in that kind of takes away what would be the more thoughful scenes. In terms of the characters I like JD and Dr Cox best, I think. Not that Dr. Cox is always a nice character, but his lines are hilarious.

It's only 13 days left for the Uk now. I gather we're actually getting it before the rest of the world for a change. I could be wrong, but I'm just about to pre-order it anyway. I really can't wait. Toad was never that much of a character for me- More often than not I'd shoot him with something in MK64 just to hear him scream... But I always preferred Yoshi myself. There wasn't much doubt that he wouldn't be in it, but I'm still glad he is. And he has Birdo with him, too ^_^ Any ideas who the secret characters might be? I was wondering if they'd be Boos of some description, seeing as they were in Mario Tennis and Golf recently.

Favorite toy when you were little
Solo Tremaine replied to BlazinReddrgn's topic in General Discussion
When I was little? I still have toys now, hehe ^____^ Anyway, when I was younger I think my favourites were the Visionaries figures. They had so much articulation it was unbelieveable; you could move them any which way, making them great for action poses and fitting inside various vehicles. For an action figure in 1989 or so, that was very rare. Nowadays it's more common for a 4-inch action figure to have realistic joints in the right places (or not, as the case may be). The real gimmick with those was the animal 'totem' on their chests. They were just little hologram stickers but they looked cool anyway. I had a fair few Turtles figures: Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo (although I hated his character), Shredder, Foot Soldiers, Splinter (I found him again the other day, heh), bebop and Rocksteady, the metal one... I never had the big blimp thing, though. That was the one thing I always wanted (and still do, to some extent). There were various other figures lines, too- Aliens figures came out in '92, Bucky 'O Hare, lots of stuff. I still collect toys, although it's mostly Transformers (Beast Wars, Universe and Armada) and Digimon now. Plus anything else that take my fancy. I have a Macfarlane Cyber Spawn and a Sea Creature sitting on my floor somewhere, along with a new-style Masters of the Universe Battlecat. I like them, and I'm not worried about what everyone else thinks about them, either. So long as they don't break any... -
It wasn't Obelisk that the trap was set on as such, it was the monster which Kaiba tributed for it. I always got the impression that none of the God Cards could be affected by any Effect Monsters, Spell Cards or Traps. Or if they did, it was just for one turn. P.S. Snodin- it's 'Slipher' ^_~
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Beg all you want. Men don't know anything about women but what they see. Yu don't know how women feel, what they think, or anything that you physically cannot be a part of. Tell me, oh man of womanly knowledge, what does a woman feel like when her period starts...What does a woman feel like or what is she thinking when she is passing a baby through her vagina.... What does she feel like when she has to raise a child and become a mother? You know NOTHING about a woman, because quite simply you're a man. You never will know anything about women.... Because you aren't.... just like you will NEVER know what it's like to love another guy... cause you're not gay... you have absolutely no idea what I feel... only what you read. You only know the outside of women, you can never know the true inside of any woman. Just as a woman can never know the true inside of a man, a gay man cannot truely understand a straight man and a straight man cannot truely understand a gay man. A white man cannot truely understand a black man, a black man cannot truely understand a white man. You cannot truely understand anyone but yourself. This is why Metrosexuality is a joke... straight men attempting to understand gay men.... it doesn't work.
I'm not sure I quite agree with that. I know we'll certainly never be able to wholly understand someone else (of whatever race or gender), but we can identify. Although I guess that would mostly come out of interaction with whoever it was you didn't understand anyway... but I don't think it's as clear cut as 'we're different, we'll never be able to understand'. There will always be differences, but gaps can be bridged if people are willing to do so. The general concensus round here is that gey men are better for women to be friends with than straight men (as opposed to those to have a relationship with), because they aren't as interested in having sex with them and are more likely to share a woman's frame and state of mind, simply because the stereotype dictates that they are more feminine (although they may well not be). But a 'Metrosexual' [I'm beginning to dislike this word already] as it were could be exactly the same- it's because of the assumptions that people make about their personality that make the stereotypes harder to get past. Just because guy's single and trying to talk to a woman that he's sexually interested in her or can't understand her viewpoint. I think this kind of thing is almost impossible to generalise now. Men and women, although fundamentally and biologically different can have exactly the same personality types as each other. But since when did anyone take notice of a female rugby player, hmm? Besides, metrosexuality in itself is a badly defined term. being straight and somewhat liberal (as it might be) doesn't make you any different from any other straight male, it just makes you more open-minded.

I don't like cherries too much personally, but the bottles do look nice. And the name's cool. I have a bog-standard deodorant- I've never really had a need for anything else (as far as I'm aware. From time to time I do smell like dog biscuits, but only if I've left them in my pocket for a few days...). It has a decent smell, and certainly stops me from smelling of BO. That's not particularly favourable, heh. I can't handle anything too strong anyway. My dad uses some 'fragrant' shampoos, and although I've no idea how much he uses, whenever I smell them I get a terrible headache. It's the same with most aerosol deodorants. As for ones I can handle... I'd have to agree with Moletta and Desbreko- I love clean, fresh air, although I usually notice it more before it's about to rain rather than afterwards. It seems more electric, in a way. Like there's tension actually in it. If you get what I mean. Afterwards it seems a bit... damp, heh. Another one I really like is a vegetable stock cube and olive oil boiling in a pan just before I cook pasta. I could smell that all day ^_^;

RPG Tenchi Universe: Adventures of the Galaxy Police [PG-13]
Solo Tremaine posted a topic in Theater
Note- the reason for this rating should not (with any luck) be due to swearing, but simply because of the content in it. This allows for mild innuendo (much like the Tenchi series already gets away with) and a fair amount of violence. Have fun, basically ^_^ But keep the naugthy words down to a minimum please ^_~. -------------------------------------------------------------- The Galaxy Police Headquarters, the titanium fortress orbiting the planet Jurai. Inside, elite officers, having passed a rigourous entry exam, carry out their duties. Saving worlds, ridding the galaxy of terrorists and petty criminals. At the head of this organisation is the High Commissioner. Medals, awards and electronic windows displaying newspaper reports cover the walls of his metal room, all gleaming examples of his success. In stark contrast, the Commissioner himself sat shakily behind his desk, wringing his hands and sweating. He jumped as the door swished open, a young female Seargent striding swiftly into his room. "How much damage?" he croaked, his face white. The Seargent slowly pulled a clipboard from under her arm and carefully handed it to him. He shakily turned over the front page and read down the report. His head hit the desk with an almighty 'thud'. "Seven... million... dollars..." his head didn't move from the desk. "How are we going to explain this to the Jurai government?" "There is the Security Register to consider- if a matter is deemed a danger to civilians it can be kept confidential to the public." "Damn right these are a danger to civilians!" he spluttered. "But we can't keep it from them forever. I've been covering their tracks as best I can, but..." The Seargent shrugged. "Is there no way of disbanding the Squad, sir?" "We still have another year until the Treaty allows us to disarm them, damn bureaucrats. And besides..." The Commissioner 's head rose and he straightened himself on his chair. On his desk stood a small framed picture of him with a small, brown-skinned, blonde-haried girl. She wore a dazzling smile and her large blue eyes shone brightly. "I won't, as long as she still wants to be an officer. This is the safest way to keep them from harm. Just make sure the Special Branch are ready next time." "Understood, sir." She saluted stiffly and marched out of the room. When the door shut, she let a slight grin creep onto her face. Through the window, she could see a dark shape floating slowly towards the headquarters... * * * Gaia. A planet far from the reach of the Galaxy Police Headquarters. From space, it looks deceptively peaceful. Governmental reports conclude it has one of the lowest crime rates inthe Galaxy, making it somewhat of a safe haven for those wanting time to relax on a planet with tropical sunshine, snowy mountains and a booming economy. Get closer, though... BOOM! "Out of the way!" A red motorcycle rumbled down a set of marble stairs, knocking statues to the floor and people tumbling over the bannisters into flowerbeds. Its rider wildly flailed a Galaxy Police badge as he passed through, his orange hair and dark blue cloak blowing in the wind. The bike slowed as he reached the front door of the Estate, glancing at the map readout on the display in front of him. "I don't get it." he mumbled, widening the area visible. "I'm supposed to be in the Daria city centre. I've followed the directions... I can't even see my position any more." In the corner of the screen, three green words caught his eye: "Metropolis City Map." "Oh..." As discreetly as possible, he walked his bulky motorcycle through the Gardens and onto the road outside. He jabbed a button on the bike, activating the radio. "Uh, this is Kyru. I got lost. I'll be with you soon." Jumping back onto his bike, he revved up the engine and sped away towards Daria, flattening some daffodils as he went. For anyone that's interested, Kyru's bike looks like this: Bike. Anime A topis everyone can talk about, Egyption god cards!
Solo Tremaine replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by shorty Hey all you people start talking about this subject
I think you're both missing the point. The secret to a successful messageboard isn't in simply having a subject which everyone can reply to; it's having topics that can actually be interesting and be discussed by those who read it. For example, "Which do you think is the best (as opposed to favourite) God card and why?", addressing all the various aspects of it and then opening it up to someone else's opinion. But please, don't start one about that- I'll only close it. The God cards are too narrow a range to have a full-blown topic about. This is exactly why favourites threads generally aren't allowed- they become dumping grounds for reasons for liking a card with no interaction between people who post. And judging by the opening two posts this doesn't look like too decent a discussion anyway. Both of you need to improve the qualities of your posts. shorty, please try and work on your grammar and spelling. It's incredibly confusing. I'm not trying to harass you by closing your topics MaliksGrrl, but this has to be addressed. Posting simply for posting's sake is spam. And messageboard fame (as such) isn't gained by successful threads anyway- don't take it personally if one's closed. Look at other people's first, reply to them and then try and formulate your own ideas about what the forum is lacking in terms of discussion. In the end, this only a messageboard. There are plenty of others around if you want a more 'free' discussion. -
MaliksGrrl, if you have a problem with the rules then I would suggest going somewhere else. They are there to help make the forum a fun and enjoyable place to be, and help keep it all in order. If you're complaining about your thread being closed, it pretty much speaks for itself- not only was the post quality rather questionable but hardly any decent discussion can come from a question which bores down to "Who likes Malik?" Threads like this have led to short and spammy posts in the past and I don't intend to keep them reoccurring for the sake of it. Had it started with a 'I like Malik because...' and then had a decent amount of reasoning behind it that can be debated I might have considered leaving it open. As it was, it didn't, hence I closed it. If you have a problem with a judgement I have made that you feel is unfair, I would appreciate it if you could PM me about it in future.

I hope this is alright- It was very disjointed when I started. I'm happy to change anything if it's not right, heh. Name: Tierenan* Cloud Age: 22 Gender: Male Height: 6'0 Weight: *shrugs* Um... 130lb? I've no idea what weight he should be ^_^; Appearance: Tierenan Personality: Tierenan is a highly honourable warrior and is well-respected by those in his team as well as his opponents. Although outwardly he tends to be relatively quiet, he feels very deeply about things and has been known to suddenly and violently outburst if something crosses what he believes in. Biography: Tierenan had always dreamed of piloting a Zoid, ever since hearing about the adventures his father used to take and the battles he used to fight. He died six years ago, leaving a large, empty hole in Tierenan's life. He began to grow disillusioned by Zoids and all the tales he heard- after all, if there was no more war, what was he point in having them around, save for ceremony? For a while, he joined a movement to have all of the machines decommissioned before his uncle pulled him out of the group by force and brought him to his senses. He took Tierenan to a bunker outside his hometown, and revealed Noble to him- a brilliant white Konig Wolf. His father's Zoid. Tierenan promised to train hard to carry on his father's legacy, and travelled all around Zi to gain experience and practice his combat skills. Many have compared him to Van Flyheight in personality and his love for Zoids, but he never believes he can be that great. His greatest ambition is to meet the legendary Zoid pilot. Tierenan ran into Alec at a market South of New Helic City and he readily agreed to help form a team with him. -------------------------------------------- Team Sign Up Team: Strike Fighter Team Members: Alec Terse, Siaga Tatakai, Tierenan Cloud, Kei Misato Rank within Team: Member (Combat Specialist) Team Zoids: Leomaster, Ice Blazer, Konig Wolf, Raynos Team Transport: Red and Silver Dragoon Nest Z.P.R.S Numbers: 2568731SF [Alec Terse] 2568732SF [Tierenan Cloud] 2568733SF [Siaga T.] 2568734SF [Kei Misato] --------------------------------------------- Zoid Sign Up Name: Noble Type: Konig Wolf Zoid Appearance: Appearance: Normal: Konig Wolf Customised with Lance Unit: Konig Wolf 2 Customised with Lance and Sniper Rifle: Konig Wolf 3 (Pictures from http://www.zoidsunofficial.coolfreepages.com/CG%20Images.htm Support Systems: Small primary energy shield (sides only), twin booster units, optical enhancement device and sniper scope.
