According to UpperDeck's restriction list, you can only have one in a Deck. That must be a fairly recent change, unless I'm slow...

We've had this thread before... it ended up being closed because of the poor quality of a lot of the stuff inside it- it more or less became SPAM. Really, it belongs in the Poetry, Fan Fiction and Literature forum anyway, but I'd be willing to give it another go if people can put effort into what they write. I'm not trying to discriminate against people's senses of humour, but if something is going to be done it's got to be done in the best possible way. Especially if it's close to SPAM as it is.

I think they could show it because it no longer spelt out 'DEATH', which probably would have upset parents. Instead it sayd 'FINAL', which in itself sounds pretty weak to me. *shrugs* I wish I had more access to the Japanese versions of the episodes, so that I could see exactly what we're missing.

The engines of the Predacon warship roared furiously, pushing the craft deeper into space. The darkness outside almost mirrored the atmosphere within. Sat in his command chair, the menacing form of the Predacon leader was silhouetted against the wall. His metallic purple frame glinted in the light of the computers around him. He growled to himself as the monitor displayed readout after readout to him. He was unimpressed. The planet they needed to find was several light years away. They had to move quickly. Suddenly, red light cascaded into the room. Sirens wailed and beacons flashed. "Warning! Maximal ship detected!" The computer screeched. "Battle stations" he boomed. "We won't let them take the disc." He jabbed a button on the control console and the ship lurched round to face the approaching intruders. Several laser cannons on the surface of the ship whirled around and took aim. "Open fire!"

Alaris shook his head. he was glad to finally be in what he interpreted as friendly company. At least for the moment, anyway. He held onto his sword vigilantly anyway, just in case. He still didn't understand why Ben couldn't sense the others clones, and that worried him. He'd only known Ben for a short while, but he'd already shown to be fully capable and responsible. Perhaps it was just blind and oblique judgement, but there was still something about the situation he didn't like. The Armadillo-Youngers hadn't told him of anything like this, and hadn't even hinted that the Capital was planning anything either. He stood up and looked around at the others. "If it's alright with you'd I'd like to check back on my home." "Home? I thought yours was destroyed." The Owl-Elder mused. "My old one, yes. I'd like to think my dwelling within the armadillo-clones is still intact." he replied, his fist clenching around the sword's hilt. The owl-clone shrugged. "If it is, it won't be of any consequence. It's too out of the way for the humans to bother with now. Some of your troops are already within the Capital. Not all were killed by the scorpions." Alaris' expression lifted. "How many are left?" "One. In the medical chambers." The pangolin bowed his head and strode out of the room. He hoped this war would be over soon, with as little bloodshed as possible. If the Fox-Elder was indeed planning something, they had to find out what as soon as possible. He was close to quitting.

It does raise both players' Life Points by 1000, as that's what it says on the card.

There was Bubblegum Crash, which starred exactly the same characters. I've not actually seen that, though- only the DVD case. Although the characters looked hugely different, and not nearly as good in my opinion. Tokyo: 2040 has a very definate style to it, which is one I greatly like. About the ending- I really liked it. I'm a sucker for corny endings, heh. Although
it would have been nice to actually see them meeting up again rather than leaving Priss, Nene and Linna where they were.
It makes for a better dramatic effect the way it was, but I like closure, dammit. Still, it was very good.

Asura- I think the Ritual monsters and rigmorale attached to them might slow the Deck down- seeing as you've only one Crab Turtle and ritual card, it doesn't seem that necessarry alonside monsters such as the Dragons you also have as hard-hitters. You could just as easily have another Wind, Water or dragon-type monster and then replace the others needed for Crab Turtle with other usefuls. Of course, it's entirely up to you, heh. baalthaczaar, I'd suggest having more Tribute monsters there- there's not an awful lot of power in that Deck, you might find yourself easily under heavy attack with only 2 monsters with over 2500 ATK. Get another Summoned Skull if you can, or any others that take your fancy. There's also the general yadda of getting Raigeki, Magic Cylinder and other useful staples.

That's part of the thread's point, WolfofDarkstar. I don't know what you're trying to say exactly, but discussion should be free here. It's mostly in the description of the cards' effects that makes the 'errors' in card rulings anyway- The Living Arrow has had three different effects so far- to merge a monster with one of your opponent's (and do some very strange things as in Yugi's match against Kaiba), to destroy magic and trap cards (against Pegasus), and to reflect an attack back against your opponent, (if I remember rightly, in the Duel against Bandit Keith). If the dialogue was written to make each card's effect clearer there probably wouldn't be so much of a problem.

The Dark Crystal originally really scared me, and it still does to an extent. It's really good, but the creatures, voices, music and just the general atmosphere of it was very dark. I think it's about as close to a semi live-action anime that you can get, hee ^_^ The Labyrinth has been one of my all-time favourite films. I loved the songs especially. I still sing them from time to time, if I'm on my own ^_^ I almost bought the soundtrack the other day, too. I hadn't realised it flopped- I thought it was really popular *shrugs* Ah well. What do people know? I'm sure there have been other Jim Henson films, but I can't remember what they were. I think those were the best two, at any rate.
-
That's one I forgot- Blue Sub 6 was very good- I'm glad they broadcasted that, heh. But I'm sure the audience for anime is growing here- already the stock of anime DVDs they sell in MVC has grown from half a shelf to four. Hopefully that should mean more will be actually broadcasted, too.

Well, it's certainly not as good as it could be- FoxKids UK had been promising to show new episodes of Digimon since Christmas, but since nothing's shown up it's probably unlikely that we'll ever get to see it here. That said, we've had a fair few decent animes shown (not that they're on right now, mind). In total we've had Eva, Nadesico, Blue Gender, Digimon, Pokemon, Zoids, Transformers, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, Adventure Duo, Akira, and a lot more too. I would certainly like to see more. I hope Adult Swim or soemthing equivalent of that will arrive here soon. FLCL is one I'm definately interested in seeing. That, and Lost Universe.

I'm don't think that quite what Des meant, heh. Having one too many sex chromosome isn't really something I like to joke about, either, seeing the physical and emotional problems it causes. There are relatively few documentaries that disturb me, and that was one of them. I'm not sure you'd be able to have a true third sex without having interchangeable parts and a more or less neutral personality. Being male or female is what makes things interesting.

I can really only give a physical accountment for dreams, having looked at various theories of how they appear in Psychology. I'm sure I've posted this somewhare already... anyway, during the day, you use up copious amounts of neurotransmitters in your brain during the firing of millions of neurones inside your brain. These have to be replenished at some point, and the best time to do that would be sleep, when your body is at rest. Hence, when you sleep, substances are being transported and synthesised at the synapse, which might result in the random firing of the nerve impulses (the Pons area in the brain generates waves anyway, sorry this is a bit vague- I can't remember a lot of the technical stuff), which would explain why we're able to see, hear and feel things in our dreams- although we don't physically hear them, the centres in the brain that interpret the information are receiving electrical impulses as if you are. This can explain why some dreams are random or to do with topics of the day- the more you think about or do something, the more neurotransmitters you use in that area of the brain and the more that needs replacing while you sleep. If they're random neurotransmitter from everywhere's probably being replaced. So to me, they seem like random machinations of the brain's natural regenerative processes [yes, big words do make me feel clever] that happen to have a relevance to your life. They aren't any less real/scary/depressing or whatever, and indeed they can provide great scope for daily events and larger problems, but I'm wondering if that's just because the brain's working in a different way to when it's awake. I don't know, I hate being scientific at times. Which is why I don't really know what to think about religion- I'm an agnostic (meaning more or less 'on the fence')- I can't understand what actually happens after death, but I believe there is something.

I quite liked the Tarzan soundtrack. My friend plays it in his car on very high volumes, and I just like it, really. I'd have to say I'm more of a fan of that type of music than the more musical-style that the older films tended to have. Lilo and Stitch was another- I very nearly bought the soundtrack on several occasions. maybe I'm just growing old of the 'musical' style. I think a lot of childran nowadays have grown up and are seeing things that are a lot more adult than a lot of the more 'cutesy-poo' Disney things (the comedy side-kick characters really start to annoy me now [e.g. Mushu and Cricket, B.E.N, just because they are an annoying stereotype in my view]). Mind you, I did listen to the Lion King soundtrack every day for about two years at night. Wore out two double-sided audio cassettes, hehe. The better ones in my opinion were Mulan (simply for the 'We Are Men' by Donny Osmond- I love that so much), The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. The orchestral music for them was really good, too. Toy Story, although not specifically Disney, was very good too. I think it depends on who they get in to do the songs and music. Tim Rice and Elton John did fantastically on Aladdin and The Lion King (along with Hans Zimmer for the score music), and whoever it was on Mulan with James Horner.
Originally posted by terra My best friends and I can spend hours talking about nothing in particular, and have a really great time. My close guy friends and I can do the same. But as far as I know, a pair of guys will seldom just sit around, chatting about nothing in the same way. I could be very wrong about this, but I feel like being a girl gives me that venue of communication that I'd miss a lot if I were a guy.
I will, hehe. Although you do have a point- the discussions I have with girls are often a lot longer and easier to carry on- guys' talk has a tendency at times to be very 'economical', in that what needs to be said is said and that's about it. Small talk can be fairly difficult, but it's not always the case. I get the idea that it can be easier to socialise if you're a girl- correct me if I'm wrong, heh. It would be nice to be able to settle into conversation and be accepted more readily into social groups. I am happy with who I am- there are some aspects of being female I'm not sure I'd want to experience first-hand. Mind you, female bodies are far more attractive than males'... [/hypothetical narcissism]

OOC: Well... might as well try one last time to get this going again, heh. ---------------------------------------------------------- Strabimon studied the cracked Digivice carefully, trying not to make any pieces fall onto the floor. He looked around him. There was quite a large conveyer belt surrounding them, along with noisy, dusty machines that were churning out hundreds of small watches a minute. They looked very similar to their digivices... "What if we salvaged your onw for parts from those?" he asked, taking one of the watches from the production line. Salamon looked doubtful. "Do you think it'll work? Those haven't been altered by Zuquiaomon." Sytrabimon thought for a while. If they were the same thing, surely they'd have the same parts? He looked at the two devices alternately, and was just about to say something when he felt a presence behind him. Turning round, he saw Renamon. "Is everything alright?" she asked softly. Strabimon shook his head. "Salamon's digivice broke." "It wasn't my fault..." she said quietly, feeling rather dejected and sitting back on her hind legs. A flash of light erupted from behind them and Bhaumon appeared from out of nowhere, looking rather dazed. "Wher- we're here?" he burbled, holding his head. "What's going on?" He looked at Salamon's digivice and winced. "Nasty. Can we fix it?" Strabimon took a deep breath. "Well-" The building shuddered. Above the noise of the machinery, they could hear a series of loud 'boom's from the lower floors. They ran to a darkened stairwell to invesitgate.

A few more cards due to be in Magician's Force (info from Pojo's Site): Big Bang Shot Type: Equipment Magic Effect: Increase the Equipped Monster's attack strength by 400. If it attacks a Monster in defense mode, and the attack strength is greater than the defense strength, do Battle Damage to your opponent equal to the difference. If this card leaves the Field, remove the Equipped Monster from the game. And one of Espa's: Reflect Bounder Light/Machine, Level 4 - 1700/1000 Effect: When an opposing Monster attacks this Monster while it is in Attack Mode, deal LP damage to your opponent equal to the Attack strength of the attacking Monster. This Monster is destroyed after damage has been calculated. Some fairly good cards, then. I'm looking forward to this set's release, with or without Dark Magician Girl. I'm more interested in Black Paladin myself anyway, heh.

I've often wondered what my life would be like if I were female. This might sound weird, but I had a dream in which I was female, and I was going out with my best friend Dan. It seemed quite an attractive idea at the time, but I'm not sure in what context it was, being a dream. Anyway, what do you think your life would be like if you were of the opposite sex? Would you have the same friends/school/interests? How different do you think you would be? As for me, I've no idea whether I'd have still broken my hip or not- as the cyst's been there from birth there's still a chance it could develop, and me smashing it was definately the turning point of my life. Assuming I had, my personality would probably be fairly similar, although I think I'd have had more friends at the end of Primary School than I did, and that would have put me in more securely at High School. Having said that, I might not have bought the N64, as my friends reading N64 Magazine was what made me interested in getting that, and that probably laid down the lines for a lot of anime, too (I started on Pokemon). So then I might not be here... Most of my interests stem from things I've done with my friends or heard them talking about. Which raises something interesting- even though your friends are different, if you have more or less the same personality you're likely to hang around with the same sort of people, so you might get into that stuff anyway... although I've no idea if that would work for certain- being a different person leads to different life events. If nothing else, my Transformers collection might not be so big *shrugs* I don't know any girls my age who collect toys, I don't think it follows too well past the adolescent years. I could be wrong. Anyway- your thoughts, please.
Originally posted by Fall Things that are heavily depressing for me, I've looked back at, and instantly get me down right then and there. And then I can't help it, but think back on it for the rest of the day. And it continues for a while... a long while. Usually when I'm listening to my music in bad at night, and suddenly the image of something I'm ashamed over pops into my head, I feel like crying. I feel so damn sad about it, I want to cry, but can't. I hold myself back over it.
Another post of yours I've quoted ^_^; But yes, I get the same feeling, although I don't try and hold back. It's been... about four/five years since I last even partly cried, and even then it wasn't real bawling as such. There are things I really regret- usually just stupid and unnecessarry mistakes that I've made, either by saying something or not saying something that perhaps I shouldn't. And they'll get me down to the point where I want to cry, but I never can. It's something I'm working towards- there's a lot in here I want to release, but I can't. I often wonder about what the next thing to make me cry will actually be, and then both fear and anticipate it

I don't have an accent as such... I have what's generally called 'Received Pronunciation'. Fairly boring, in other words. It used to be called The Queen's English, whereby everyone should set their standards by it. It's not one of these haugty posh English accents that seem to crop up in The Simpsons most often, heh. It's quite nice, just nothing too special.

OOC: ^_^; I hope this is right. It's taken me quite a while to work out how to do it, heh. ------------------------------------------------------- Alaris's claws quaked as he scanned the Chamber. The humans were everywhere. If his sword weren't on his back he might be able to do something... They held their guns tightly to the backs of the Elders they were holding captive, each with a vice-like grip on the triggers, ready to fire at the blink of an eye. He watched Rena forced to her knees and gritted his teeth. "Drop your weapons and step into the centre!" the human yelled. Just as he, Karokku and Xythe were about to grudgingly comply, Rena's expression changed. Alaris wondered for a shocking moment whether the trigger had already been pulled. Her eyes half-closed and she looked unsteady on her knees. The human had noticed it too. He gave a quizzical look, before suddenly looking distinctly groggy. The gun next to her temple wavered and slipped to point at the floor. "What's happening?" one of the assailants called out. Several nearest the centre of the room were starting to swagger as well, along with some of the Elders. The humans along the outer edge were starting to panic. Shakily, one of them took aim at Rena, shaking gently in the middle of the room. Xythe leapt into the air and dived onto the nearest human, sinking his teeth into the thick camouflage gear. he fell backwards and fired a laser shot into another human, who topped forwards over the edge of the seat, bringing down an Elder with him. At the same time, Karokku and Alaris lunged into the middle, drawing their weapons and madsly slashing at the nearest enemies they could find. Laser shots shrieked around the room, bursting through Elders' bodies and throwing them lifelessly to the ground. Those free from their captors dived for cover underneath anything they could, quivering in fright. "Get the out of here!"

Anime What are your thoughts about yu-gi-oh?
Solo Tremaine replied to Burori's topic in Otaku Central
Well, in that case you don't need to come into the forum and SPAM. It's pointless and rude to enter a forum just to slag off the programme unless you're being constructive. There's far more to it than 'a guy playing cards and becoming a pharoah', in terms of the plot, the characters and the game itself. Think before you post please. -
Heh, I would PM but that would mean you'd have to double-post, or at least wait for someone else to comment :p I like it. I noticed your style's quite similar to mine, which made it rather interesting to read (in that I can see its structure more easily, not because I love myself). I can see a few grammatical errors, but they're nothing huge ^_^ In all I think it's very good. One thing I might suggest would be to vary the structure of direct speech lines- it's fine as it is, but just altering how they're presented can give more scope for emotional description, things like that. Not huge or necessarily great advice, but maybe something to think about, heh.
