I've deleted a whole load of posts from this thread. Keep petty arguements in PMs if you really feel you have to rattle each other. Personally, I've always found YVD much easier to use- Since Apprentice was made for Magic the Gathering, I find the controls and interface don't really lend themselves to Yu-Gi-Oh that well. Mind you, I never had a proper tutorial for it.

Well... yes, I suppose so. But even in a one-night stand there has to be an emotion of readiness, or just pure adrenaline/alcohol. No action is entirely physically motivated. But then you get into the debate about whether a physical state arouses emotions or whether emotions cause a physical state. I'm sure there's a subtle difference between porn and yiff, but maybe I'm being too blanket-headed about it, and I can't think well enough to define it. I personally wouldn't want to cyber with someone I've never met (and not even with someone I knew well). Most of the people on Furcadia are there because they actually want to experience more than just animal sex. There's more to it than that. Sure, you do get the superficial thrills, and I'm guessing there are a lot of people who like that side of it greatly, but it's not all people do there. I'm not trying to justify cybering, but (if only for me anyway) there would have to be another side to it.

Alaris plunged his sword into the fallen human's chest. It let out a low moan of agony, shortly before falling back onto the ground, limp and lifeless. His eyes darted around the room, making sure there were no other armed humans around. He gestured to four of the clone soldiers and pointed down a tunnel. "Secure the area and kill any humans you find in the tunnels." In the corner, he noticed something moving. Readying his sword, he took up a battle stance. "Hey, careful with that sword. We're friends," a chameleon-clone said quickly, emerging from the shadows. "Oh, right," Alaris sighed, lowering his sword. "Are you alright?" "We're fine," the chamelon answered back, gesturing to Crystal. Alaris rolled his eyes. So far, the defense of the Capital was close to laughable. A small chameleon and a bird-clone were the only ones he'd come across, save for a mongoose hiding underneath a chair. "Wha- is this all of you?"

Alaris rolled over in his burrow. Why did people have to be so noisy topside? He stuffed some soil in his ears, just as a loud rumble dislodged bits of his ceiling, knocking clumps of dirt to the floor. With the ceiling getting thinner every time something went past, he'd have to relocate pretty soon. Maybe he could ask them to move away. He'd had very little sleep lately as it was, constantly trying to avoid the other Sandslashes and Sandshrews in his area. He wouldn't have minded ifthey'd wanted to do something fun, butthey wouldn't talk to him or anything, just got in his way. He scurried a short way out of his burrow and started digging upwards to the source of the noise. As he felt the air touch his claws, he pulled himself out onto a small mound, just in time to see a gigantic Charizard take off, and for a large twig to flick into his face. "Ow!" he shouted. A Crocognaw and Absol turned to face him. Alaris rubbed his eye, opened his mouth to protest and noticed the Crocognaw. "Do you mind... er... Hi." he grinned sheepishly as the Pokemon moved towards him, revealing a Scyther stood behind it. Alaris grew more nervous. "Nothing, never mind. I didn't mean anything by it." he said very quickly, turning to curry back into his hole. Boy, his timing was off. The last thing he wanted was to interrupt a conversation between three powerful and large Pokemon. "Hey, wait!" the Crocognaw called. Alaris froze. "Yes?" "Are you... normal?" The Sandslash raised an eyebrow. "What are you implying?"
Originally posted by RPCrazy No use for the profanity. You can use the words "cyber," "yiff," "sex," or "intercourse" to bring out the same meaning without using the F word. And I must disagree with you: being sexual with someone online is totally different from real life. There are no worries of a child being born or diseases being passed. Probably another contributing factor for the rampant cyber sessions...but anyway.
There's that side of it, but anything sexual also has the emotional side of it too. Anything that happens online shouldn't be disregarded- it's still 'real', even if it happens to be on the other side of a screen several thousand miles away. So either way, it's still a big jump in a relationship. Even pretending to have sex with someone is a big step, and I'd personally agree with Sere.
You may want to work on your maturity level, or at least your anger management. Considering your previous post, it looks like they both could use some improvement.
I could say the same thing about you, too. No-one's view is absolute or is trying to be enforced as truth, remember. And some people do feel very strongly about these things.

harpiesbrother, that post is in direct violation of the rules. One-word posts are not allowed. Please try and improve in the future. Besdes, we are supposed to be describing why they are your favourite cards. Mine...I'm not sure I have a real favourite. Like I said before, Barrel Dragon is one I find most useful for clearing your opponent's side of the field for monsters and dealing damage; plus it looks pretty cool, too. I really like Mystical Knight of Jackal, but unfortunately it doesn't fit in with either theme of my Decks. It looks really great. If only it were an Earth type...

I've never had any other contact with a furry, so I've never actually been in a situation like that myself. I can understand what you say, though. And, to be completely honest, I think a lot of the furry art is very good quality, yiff or otherwise. And you're right- they are more sexual creatures, if only because they've not adopted the prohibitions of society to stop them from doing so. I'd probably just feel uncomfortable going somewhere like that. I'm not a heavily sex-oriented person. I like the art, but... yeah.
-
Yeah, that was one thing I noticed, too. Yiff seems to be a fairly big part of furry stuff, especially online o_o; I'd still be interested to see what it was like and to meet others who are interested in furdom, but... not for that, really. I'm hoping to learn to draw furries, but I need to really start practicing. Heh, you need to combine the best bits of human and animal drawing, which can get very complicated. But if done well, can be really really good. Thanks for the Furcadia info, Sere ^_^ I'll definately look into that, heh.

No, I'm a big Anthro/furry fan ^_^ I'd love to be able to get to it. I've not any of the garb, though. It'd be a nice thing to work towards getting to, if I could.

Wow, I've always wanted to go to one of those, although the details I have on them are sketchy at best, and it's a long way for me to go, being in the UK. And I don't know what a MUCK is >_< What sort of things happen at them?

Yay! This is my kind of RPG ^___^ Name: Alaris Specie: Sandslash Age: 13 Description: As normal, but his yellow fur is a darer brown. Bio: Alaris could tell there was something that separated him from the others in his litter. Far from unpopular, he was very popular, and often found himself taking up to a dozen others with him on strange adventures around the tunnels he lived in. One day, it all stopped. No-one wanted to play any more. Fed up, he decided to migrate across the plains to a more grassy area, near a forest. All around him, the Pokemon fight. A playful and friendly soul at heart, he is detertmined to stop the others so that he might be able to enjoy the games he once did. Moves: Fissure, Slash, Hyper Beam, Swords Dance, Sand Attack I've no idea how accurate these moves are- I've not played any Pokemon game since Red ^_^;

OOC: Sorry Ben >_< ---------------------------------------- Alaris marched the troops over the rocky terrain, hurrying as fast as they could to the main gates of the caves. Although well-armoured, the armadillo-clones were fairly sluggish. As was he, laden with his heavy battle-uniform. They arrived at a steep slope, at the bottom of which was a gulley, well-trodden by clones. They were very near the main entrance. Eerily, he couldn't hear any noise. Only the sound of the wind and the quiet shuffling of the troops met his ears. He hoped they'd beaten the main forces to it. Or even better, had been wrong about the entire false front. They slid clumsily onto the narrow pathway and trudged on ahead. Lining the rocks next to them were the remnants of the crystals which the clones used to line their dark corridors. He ran his claws along them apprehensively as they carried on down the path. Something snapped under his foot. He looked down. A splinter of oak. But that meant- "Fizz!" A red bolt of light shrieked past his head. He dived for cover behind the corner, narrowly avoiding getting hit by two more shots. The two human sentries had seen them. One was probably going back inside for reinforcement. "Ready your shields!" he yelled back at the others. The armadillo-clones unhooked their defensive covers from their backs and readied them for a charge. "Go!"

Everyone I've met changes me in some way- some good, some bad. Some might be minute changes, but I still notice their effects. One common habit I have now is typing 'heh' every so often, and for that I blame Dan L, hehe. It's not a bad thing, necessarily, but sometimes I wish I could think of something more imagoinative to say, or just... resist the urge to type it ^_^; But he's done more for me than that. He introduced me to a more spiritual and religious side of life, which I'd always discounted before. I'm not converted, exactly, but I'm a lot more open to God than I was. A little-known member of the boards, Nexus_Storm changed me quite extensively a few years ago (we've known each other since the beginning of high school). I won't go into the details too much, but really I wouldn't be who I was today without him. And for that I'm very glad. Pyrophobic gave me confidence and great tips on how to be a better writer (and artist, heh). It might not seem much, but being able to complete something you've wanted to for ages gives you a fantastic confidence boost. She's a great friend, too- and all of my friends keep giving me positive influences. Rain was my first wife, hehe. An introduction into online marriages was much-needed, and a great way to start things off ^_^ She's encouraged me not to give up hope many times, and even though I'm not usually a pessimist, it's impossible to be optimistic all the time. And she's been there for me when I've felt down. Weh! Along with Red, Ajeh, Kaisuke and many others who I'd get into chats with online, have helped increase my ability to think of random, nonsensical humour, which is always a bonus ^_^ Kaizer_boy... my first mortal enemy online, hehe. If nothing else, he's taught me that tolerance isn't always a good thing >_< And there are many others- Sara, Shy, Ginny, Mitch, Duo Maxwell, Lady Asphyxia, Lady Katana, Logan, DeathKnight, Desbreko, Calumon luver, Juu, Altron, Digital Monster... the list goes on for a long time ^_^; All these people have been kind enough to help me at various points in time, for which I'm very grateful. And, just being able to talk to them makes me very happy.

Most Influential Person in your Life
Solo Tremaine replied to Patronus's topic in General Discussion
Heh, I'd probably have to go with my mum, too. She's just... always been there, to help me get through the tough times, and by shaking me up in case I did anything wrong so I'd never create a tough time for myself. She's just... fantastic, really. She's always very supportive of anything I want to do, but will still give me pointers about how to do it right, and ever though at times it feels like nagging, I still really appreciate everything she does for me. I can talk to her about anything and she won't hold it against me, and I feel very lucky to have half of her genes, heh. Apart from her, I'd probably say those who influence me the most are my friends. From Year 1 to Year 13 (online as well), everyone's had an impact of various different levels. I don't think it's right to say no-one can change you, because not everything of your personality is innate. Genes determine what characteristics you might have, but experience will help certain ones to come through. And you might make a conscious decision to change. I think this paragraph fits more in the OtakuBoarders thread (where there was a discussion about it a few days ago), but... yeah. They're very similar subjects, anyway. -
Fantastic, thanks everyone ^_^ I think we'll be ready to start on Saturday. At least, that's how long I'll wait. Sign-ups will be open for a short while after that, but I think we should do alright, hehe.

Anime A Yu-Gi-Oh Live Action Movie...
Solo Tremaine replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Well, if it's in production in Japan then I guess there won't be any big-name castings from the US, then. I'm still doubtful as to whether it'll work. And dubbing live-action often comes off a lot worse than dubbing anime. Another thing- gpeowyn, could you try and improve your post quality a bit? That's quite hard to read and understand in places. -
"You're it, Mako!" Ai giggled as she skipped away into the garden, dodging past their soporific puppy. Mako grinned widely as he began chasing after her, arms outstretched in an attempt to grab her. Just as he had her cornered, the phone rang. The two looked at each other, wide-eyed. They never usually had phonecalls at this time. They crept over to the door and peered at their mom as she picked up the receiver. "Do you think it's Impmon?" Ai asked. The two of them hadn't seen their digimon since he'd disappeared with the others into the Digital World. It had been very sad- the two hadn't cried that much in ages -but Takato had convinced them that he'd come back. Maybe this was him telling them he was stuck on the tube train... "I don't know. Does he have our number?" mako whispered back. Ai shook her head doubtfully. "Kids, it's for you." their mother said softly, handing them the phone. Thw twins both took hold of it and listened intently. "Hello?" they chorused. "Ai? Mako?" "Takato!" "How are you guys doing?" Takato asked cheerfully. "We're doing great!" Mako beamed. "How are you doing?" "Listen... have you guys experienced anything strange lately? Like... seen any of the Digimon again?" Ai and Mako shook their heads. "The only strange thing we've had is our mom's pudding." Ai grimaced, while Mako giggled next to her. "Oh, alright." Takato sounded a little disappointed. "Hey, I'll probably call you back later, okay? We might need to meet up sometime." "Yay!" the twins chorused. "Okay, Takato. We'll see you later." Mako said, putting down the phone. The twins exchanged intense looks of awe and glee. "Do you think he's seen Impmon?" Ai gripped her hands tightly in anticipation. Maybe they'd see them again really soon. She certainly hoped so.

Kaworu certainly did seem perfect for Shinji, but I think that was probably the point of the plot- the first person who he could ever open up to in such a way
was an Angel
. Actually, in the English dub,
Kaworu did say that he loved Shinji, although this may be due to him being an Angel and not properly appreciating the complexity of human emotion and speech, something like that. That was my take on it, anyway.
They would work together very well, I think, but like you said, it is somewhat impossible.
Unless Shinji's into necrophilia o_o;

I believe that Misato killed Kaji too, heh. I think they certainly had the most stable relationship in Eva, certainly in relation to some of the others, in which there's conflict, jealousy and deception. That was something nice about it, in my mind. There was always that affection there, more or less.
-
It's not so much a matter of making everyone happy, it's making everyone as happy as possible with what they have (and this can apply to the CCG in general, too)- if they want a full directory of cards, they'll have to skip out on gameplay/graphics/things like that in order to compensate. Personally, I'd prefer a game with more gameplay and less cards than a game with all the cards in the world but no decent graphics, hehe :p It'll certainly be updated I'd imagine, but might not be entirely 100% complete, heh.
-
I'm not sure. Since Pharonic Guardians has just come out and LOD only a few weeks before that, I'm guessing it won't be for at least a month yet. I think (don't take my word for it) it'll still be a common, seeing as it is one there. I doubt it'd be anything more than a Rare, at any rate.
-
I wouldn't say it's because they're unpopular- heck, they add a great deal to the story, and I do love the interaction between Kaji and Misato. It's just that they're kind of... secondary, in relation to the other pairings, as it were. Only being able to vote on a poll once does restrict your options a bit, heh. But anyway, I don't think Shinji/Rei would be that awkward.
As I interpreted it, Rei bore the soul of the DummyPlug system, borne from Lillith. At least, I think that's right. But even if her soul was his mother's, it doesn't make her her, necessarily. Although judging by what happened in EoE, it wouldn't have worked out anyway. Maybe with the second Rei...
-
They've already said that there aren't any plans to release the God Cards in the US, and to do a complete 180 on that would be a silly marketing ploy, ot say the least. Besides, if they did release them they probably wouldn't be playable in tournament Decks anyway- if they're giving something away with a game they're more likely to give something which people are actually going to use. I'd estimate at least half of the people who get the bundled promos aren't interested in the actual game.
-
I quite liked the Shinji/Rei pairing myself (not least because those two are my favourite characters), but also
in 'Tear', Rei sacrificed herself to save him, and I think that is almost the ultimate expression of love. She said she wanted 'to become one' with Ikari as well, although that may have been Gendo she was talking about o_o; I think it was Shinji, but I missed a good few episodes in the middle of the series, so I don't want to commit myself if there's a chance I could be wrong.
But she seemed to fit him much better than Asuka, in my view.
Originally posted by Fall I just wanted to know because it seems I'm the only one around here that has their favourite songs because of this reason. I justw anted to see if there are any OtakuBoards members that are the same.
Heh, I know what you mean. Well, I tend to like music anyway if it's good, but the music that appeals to me most is songs/orchestral pieces I can relate to. Pet Shop Boys- Somewhere Pet Shop Boys- It Always Comes as a Surprise Savage Garden- Affirmation Savage Garden- You Can Still be Free Meat Loaf- Heaven Can Wait Mighty Mighty Bosstones- The Impression That I Get Nothing too depressing in there, heh. *shrugs* I don't tend to get depressed very often. Um... there are a few instrumental pieces, from soundtracks and what have you, that I think 'fit' me well, too. Like 'When I Find Peace Of Mind' from the second Evangelion series CD. Not just in the music, but the title, too.
