That hurt. Ryouka blearily opened one eye and tried to look around. Everything was so sunny and bright he could hardly see. His limbs hadn't quite recovered from the journey- it was like trying to articulate jelly. Probably a combination of the download and various antidepressants. Rolling onto his back, he stared up at the leaves above him. Slowly they changed from and indistinct blur to a mesh of greenery, and he pulled himself upright, feeling less dehabilitated. He looked around, brushing dirt form his hair. "Chase?" he called. Now answer. He stood up and surveyed his surroundings. It was the same clearing he'd landed in before. Through the trees, he could see a ring of mountains in the distance. He was finally home. Just as he started moving, an odd noise caught his attention. It was a strange moaning, almost like a howl. He turned round to the source of the noise and stepped slowly forwards. Suddenly, something leapt out of the bushes and grabbed him tightly. "Ryou!" Chase sobbed, holding him tightly. "Chase!" Ryouka hugged her, slightly taken aback. "Why were you crying?" Chase sniffed. "I... I hadn't seen you in so long. I thought that maybe you'd forgotten about me. But I saw you there and... I missed you!" She buried her head in his coat and he knelt down to face her. "Chase, I'd never forget you." he said softly, wiping fat tears from her cheeks. "I've wanted to get back here to see you for so long, but I couldn't." The Guilmon gave him a hopeful gaze. "You won't have to leave again, will you?" Ryouka shook his head. "I wouldn't leave here even if you paid me. I'm staying for good now." "YAY!" Chase giggled and pounced on Ryouka, knocking him backwards. The two of them laughed for a few seconds. Chase stopped, as if remembering something. "Oh yeah..." she said, staring up into the trees. "We need to get back to the mountains. The others will be wanting to see you, hee."

Yeah, it's Lady Katana's turn to post an image now, except she's away for a bit. I'm not sure when she'll be back, but I'd suggest a new rule for the thread as a matter of course anyway- once a winner has been chosen, don't post any more captions for that picture. It gets messy and confusing. And as a suggestion, if the winner doesn't post an image within a given time, Bandit Joeykuba can decide who posts the next one, either herself or the runner-up. Just to keep things moving. And- this is a caption contest. As such, extended bits of dialogues or monologues don't fit the context of the answer- they're more for the 'Things You'd Never Hear on Yu-Gi-Oh' thread in the Fan Fiction forum.
What does everyone think about Luna, anyway?

I like Luna- I thought she was rather weird and cliquey at first, but she was a character who I gre to like further one, especially when she could see the Thestrals and for various things inside the Ministry of Magic. Also the scene at the end where she was talking to Harry was nice, too. It gave me new hope, heh. I agree with you about Neville, too- it was nice to see his character developed to more than just a klutz. I expect he'll have a bigger part to play later on, maybe.
-
Originally posted by The Harlequin Some kind of auto-spell checker. It is very, very desperately needed.
Yes, please. I know I find it infuriating whenever I make silly spelling mistakes and have to re-edit my posts five successive times, sometimes even for the same word. The User Profile colour/size thingy would be nice too, if possible.I don't think the gamic forums should be combined, though. That doesn't seem right... although I don't tend to go into them much. It just seems better to me having them separated. But if the discussions are more or less blending together anyway then I can understand why.
Originally posted by Shy Please no, I would go insane if I had to listen to Yugi saying "It's time to duel!" every time I checked in on the forum.
Whee, hehe! That would get very annoying very quickly, I imagine. I know I wouldn't want Yugi in my ear every five seconds. There was something else I wanted to suggset, but I can't remember what it was. I think the RPG hacks may ought to be more confined to an RPG-specific board. I'm not too fussed about the star ratings or whatever personally. I can see why it's nice, but it's not something I'd want particularly. The more there is on a site, the more that can go wrong. EDIT: I remember what it was now- I would like to be able to actually see Who's Online. I haven't been able to for weeks.

Ah, I think I'd have to jump on the Kaworu bandwagon here, heh. His voice, among everything else about him is just so... calming. He should have been in it for longer. From Nadesico, Ruri and Jim would be my favourite minor characters. I can identify a lot with Jim and his antics of trying to get someone to notice him, and Ruri's just very funny in a dead-pan sort of way. Other series... Scyther form Pokemon. I guess he's not a 'character' as such, but he's just a monster I really like, and he's been in all of about five episodes >_

I did something like that, except it happened by accident. With a white Marth as Yue, pink Young Link with the Star Rod as Sakura and a green Young Link as Li, you have quite a good Cardcaptors look-a-like convention. We decided that Pikachu would fit best as Kero, and black Marth as Tori. Those go well in any of Kirby's levels, heh. Sometimes we just have all-out swordy brawls with Link, Young Link, Marth and Roy, or WWI-style long-range combat on Hyrule Temple using lots of bombs and things. Samus usually features heavily in those. But not many other anime things that I can think of specifically.

Wow, fantastic ^______^ Thank you, MaxSonic! I'll definately put it in my sig (size limits permitting, hehe) *wears SuperMaxSonic award with pride*

Yikes >_< It was lucky that you spotted it, then Raiha. If it was malignant you could have been in a whole load of trouble. I guess I have one or two horror stories- just before I turned eight, we had a Sports Day at school, and I was finding it hard to run because my left leg was hurting. So, my mum took me to the local surgery, who after twisting my leg in various directions and waiting for a scream, told me to have an X-Ray done. I didn't quite understand what it was at first- mum didn't let me see the X-Rays, but she said I had a hole in my left femur somewhere near the top. I got a SNES out of that, hehe. Anyway, a few days later it was my eighth birthday and I was pretty excited, but told not to put any weight on my leg. So, when my friend called me, I decided to try hopping on my good leg to where all my presents were sitting. Topple, thud, scream. When my mum got back (she was out at the time), she took me straight to the hopspital and it was decided that I had completely shattered the bone and went into a large operation to piece it all together. I wish I'd had breakfast that morning, because as soon as I got into the hospital all I could have was 20ml of water every 20 minutes >_< not nice. And that was the first one. The second operation I had involved me having pins put into my leg about three days later in a specialised hospital half-way up the country. That ended up with me in plaster for eight weeks, and no baths for ten weeks over that entire period >___
Originally posted by Syk3 And Solo, you mind putting up a picture of the UK Harry Potter cover so that we have something to compare it to?
Sure, hehe. Here it be: There were so many things about the book which I liked. The way it brings up emotions in you is amazing.
I almost found myself yelling at Umbridge for being so horibly controlling (a nice slant on the government trying to get control in schools, methinks); and even at Harry for being so rash and jumping down people's throats.
A lot of the younger children in the UK (who were about 7 or so) didn't like it because of Harry being so angry- they couldn't understand why. But even though I understood what he was going through, it's almost like having someone arguing right in front of you, and makes it rather unnerving to read at times ^_^;
I was glad that Lupin survived, though. Along with Tonks and Moody. Even though they aren't Sirius, they're still nice characters to have around. The bit of dialogue at the end between Moody and Vernon Dursley was really funny ^_^ So it's not all gloom and doom, which is nice. Otherwise it would have been too heavy, I think. Reading about what happened during the exams was hilarious, too. It was only a short bit, but I really liked it, heh.
-
I think the one on the left looks a lot nicer, personally. Although to use and control it might be a little odd with those bits coming down over the handle, because it would restrict hand movements (heh, don't mind me- fantasizing a little here). Still, the design's fantastic. Very nice ^_^

Writing Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
Solo Tremaine replied to Queen Asuka's topic in Creative Works
I think I preferred the cover on the UK version, personally. Although the book itself
has little to do with an actual phoenix (Fawkes has a really small role in it
, the picture's really pretty. I was really shocked when I found out who died. I was sure it was going to be
one of Ron's parents. Sirius was my favourite character! *cries* One thing that does bother me, though- what was that archway that he fell through? I couldn't find an explanation of it anywhere,a nd it really annoys me. I'd be happier if I at least knew why he died.
-
Writing Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
Solo Tremaine replied to Queen Asuka's topic in Creative Works
I finished it on the day I bought it, and I'm saying nothing to anyone, lol :p I loved all of it. The only thing I will say is that
The ending was rather odd. Almost surreal, in a way.
The lines between fantasy and reality in this book have been blurred to the point that it's almost unpleasant to read at times,
with Harry being a lot more angry in this book
. I still recommend it, but I'd say the target audience has gone up at least a year, heh. It's less for younger children than it was before. -
Bleaching Hair...a yes or no???
Solo Tremaine replied to pbfrontmanvdp's topic in General Discussion
I've been tempted to bleach my hair blonde, back to the near-white colour it was when I was about two but I never got round to it. The stuff's still on my bedroom floor, heh. I've hear the substances in them can be pretty nasty, though. My mum keeps telling me that I can do it, providing I drink plenty of water afterwards (the bleach gets absorbed into your bloodstream though the scalp, so I'm told), get it out of my eyes (else I'll go blind), do a patch test on my skin to see if I'm allergic to it, yadda yadda. It put me off, really ^_^; I want my hair to look good, but it seems awfully risky doing it myself. That, and my eyebrows are near black. Having blonde hair and black eyebrows I'm guessing looks really strange.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh I don't really think that's true, that bleaching your hair makes it fall out, because my mom's been doing it for years. It does keep it from growing long, though, because you get such bad split ends.
Oh, that's useful to know, hehe. I don't want my hair to get too long (although 'long' for a girl is probably way past 'long' for a guy). That's given me a little more incentive, though ^_^ -
This is more or less already answered in the Rate My Deck! thread, bearing in mind that this is where everyone posts the decks that they choose to make with all the current restrictions and whatever cards they want to. So I think I'll close this thread.

You'd be very lucky if it snows in August- we hardly ever get it in December (at least, down south we don't). It's likely to be fairly hot and more than likely wet from time to time. As August is coming towards the end of summer it's likely to be quite temperate. I think. But no snow. It's not that cold here ^_^; Take something you'd usually wear and then a jacket or jumper to put on top if it gets colder or rains, I'd advise. And jeans, because you never really know what could happen. Grr. Why couldn't you come to Portsmouth? *grumbles*

Art My first piece of Yu-Gi-Oh fan-art...
Solo Tremaine replied to Digital Monster's topic in Creative Works
Right... anyway... Back to the matter at hand, methinks. I like it, DM ^_^ Her figure looks very good. The only thing that needs work in my opinion is the perspective on the eyes. That's what always gets me whenever I try to draw characters. They never seem to look in the right position or angle >_ -
Panik's best Godzilla impression didn't even remotely impress Yami.

Fox climbed down the stairs towards the dungeons of the Princess castle. It felt like he was starting to grow again now, which was a relief. He'd already had to avoid being trodden on by a large ape and being eaten by various potted plants dotted around the castle. Ahead of him, he could see the Princess disappering around a corner. What was she doing down here? Surely she'd be much safer upstairs dealing with the festival. It wasn't so much the fact that she was a woman (he'd already been reprimanded by Krystal for not letting her fly and Arwing), but the fact that she was a figurehead to the entire 16-Bit population. If she were to be attacked or injured, the whole Kingdom would descend into chaos. He ran after her, slowly feeling himself regain height and speed. He was still only about three quarters of his usual height, but at least the mushroom was wearing off now. He knew why he was here- to find why Sephiroth had attacked him. Perhaps it was just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he had to know. There was little he could do about it, save for blow his brains out. He didn't care if it took three years for his laser fie to penetrate the Next-gen's thick skull, he wanted justice. He rounded the corner just as the door slammed shut, with the Princess. Mario and Pikachu inside th cell. The three guards looked at Fox, then at each other, and shook their heads. "I'll wait outside, then..." he said quietly, folding his arms and leaning against the wall.

Aidian had to keep an eye on Sei. As loyal as she was, you could never be too sure of demons. Sometimes their brutal insticts got the better of them. he'd known three under his command before who'd rampaged through his own men, causing great deals of damage. Mind you, they'd never been like Sei before. He rolled up the maps and threw them to the pile of scrolls in one corner of the tent. His glaive stood in one corner of the tent. An ancient weapon handed through the generations of his city, he'd taken it from the stand above the throne. The prophets said it held an ancient magic that allowed its bearer to manipulate the wind and ice, and it seemed to work well for him. He enjoyed setting cold retribution on those who stood against him. He cast his mind back to when he took it... * * * "Should I take it?" The young, white-haired warrior asked, looking back at the visier cautiously. "It does bear great power, my lord. A formidible weapon with no known power second to it. Although we have strayed little outside of this city. Ilmiwyrth may well harbour something stronger." the wisened old man said, closing his eyes. "An equal to Ilmiwyrth?" "Possibly. The power inside it is very great. It has stayed in these moutnains for centuries." His purple cloak flowed majestically behind him and he tapped his sceptre on the ground steadily- a habit the old man had always had. Some said it was a nervous twitch, while more 'educated' scholars believed it was an ancient practice to withdraw spirit energy from the earth. Aidian reached for the glaive slowly. Just as his fingers were about to touch the handle, a hand grabbed his shoulder and whirled him round. "But!" the royal adviser barked. "It comes at a price to those who bear it. For the power of the ice inside it will transform your soul, and you may live your life as cold as the ice running through its blade." Aidian looked into the old man's eyes. They burned with a fire Aidian had never seen before. He pulled back slightly. That couldn't be true. He didn't believe him. He was probably trying to discourage him from weilding the power too uickly, before he was ready. Anyway, he knew his goals were for good. Even if he was devoid of soul, he'd still be acting for the good of the world. He had to be. Aidian looked back at the weapon, brushing the hair away from his eyes. Deep within him he had a burning desire to bring himself to glory. He knew he could change this world for the better if he was powerful enough. Slowly, he stretched his hand to the laive. Its shaft glittered in the light, the strands of silver intwined with its white-shaded wood reflecting the light all around the room. He stopped again. What would Rayne think? Surely she'd be pleased that he'd be trying to help the world. He's not trying to destroy it, whatever she says. Power is only evil if you can't control it. His fingers gripped around the handle... * * * And this was the way to help the world. Aidian knew it. His powers at Ilmiwyrth's side could bring so much to everyone. He had to become the higher power. Rayne just couldn't see it. But she didn't matter any more. None of the past did. All he could see was the way ahead. Grabbing the glaive, he walked outside and leapt onto his horse. behind him were several thousand battle-scarred troops, all waiting for his command.

If a Spirit Monster is destroyed through Card Destruction or something like that, it is sent to the Graveyard and doesn't come back. If a Spirit Monster is sent to the Graveyard in the same turn that it is Summoned, then it returns to your hand as that is what is stated on the card. Thanks to everyone who answered the question. In futura, all questions about cards should be in the Yu-Gi-Oh CARD Advice Thread, which is a Sticky at the top of the page.
Originally posted by Mina I don't fence, but I think it's a real cool sport. I'm just not discaplined enough ^^. But I think Solo Tremaine does, I gather he's quite obsessed with swords. ~_^
Yes, lol. Very much so ^__^ You'd be surprised how often this thread pops up, actually. I started fencing about seven or eight years ago, and I've been doing it ever since (although a lot less lately due to exams and various other things like that). Mostly I do foil fencing- I think Epee and Sabre are more interesting due to the style of scoring, fighting and the swords themselves (like Break said, they are relatively wimpy), but our club's never had the resources to get into them until recently, when we got a Lottery grant. And the equipment costs a lot, so I don't want to go changing all of my stuff now ^_^; As good as fencing is, I do really like more freestyle fighting (as in reenactment, stage fighting)- I don't has as good an aim as I'd like as a fencer (despite doing it for so long I still can't beat this guy who's only been fencing for four years), and I can't seem to get some of the more subtle blade movements right. I can't improvise that well, so I often end up panicking and doing something wrong ^_^; That said, I did gain a silver medal in a competition some while ago.

"Tonight, sir?" "Yes." Aidian growled. "We can't wait any longer." The lieutenants looked at each other a little worriedly. "But... we've not even finished setting up camp yet." Aidian turned to face the back of the tent, where a large map was hung over a frame. "Good. That means we can move it more quickly." He studied their position on the map. "Once we have Corock we can set it up as our temporary stronghold. The mines around here will be useful to make supplies of weapons and armour. And the mountains to the East should give us a good boundary and vantage point to watch for opposing forces." Lieutenant Stire shuffled slightly. "You're suggesting we annex Corock as our base? It's a fairly small town, and not very well-defended." Aidian gave him a stern look. "Then we'll make it bigger. The mines and mountains have plenty of resources for us to build a more fortified town, and there are plenty of people who'll be willing to work for us." he continued. Corock was a mostly industrial town, but had a large population. If they hadn't any defences then they'd be fairly easy to take down. Aidian had heard stories about brave warriors who chased dragons from the mines, but these were probably more folklore than anything else. The archers would be able to take down almost any resistance before they even got to the city gates. "Get the archers onto the rise to the East so they can shoot straight into the town. Set up the infantry and heavy artilery at the main gates, and have the cavalry and batering ram taken around the back. We have to take the resources in this city as soon as possible to replenish the stock we've already lost." Aidian commanded. He would be on his horse leading the infantry charge. He loved the sound of battle, and was itching to fight after the encounter with Rayne. "Go!"

I regret a few things, mostly odd bits of conversation that have ended up hurting someone or making myself look really ridiculous unintentionally. Usually things I say without thinking I regret. nothing too big.
Originally posted by Rhys Mayiessen I regret a lot of the mistakes I have made in life. But its not like regretting is really going to change what you have done. You just have to move on with your life and remember not to do the same mistake again^^
I agree whole-heartedly. Even though regrets makes us feel bad about doing what we've done, they serve as a reminder not to do it again. I think they're kind of valuable in that sense. The thing is not to focus too much on what you have done and focus more on what you're going to do next time. That way, even through knowing you've done something wrong, you'll be doing something else that'll make things better for whenvever the same situation happens again.

The only restrictions in the UK are the Exodia pieces, I think. Personally I think it's better to play with the US restrictions, but that's just me. It's better for playing with YVD as that'll only let you have what's in the US restrictions anyway. I'm sure some people ignore everything and have like four Raigekis in their deck regardless, though o_o;
