In future, questions about cards should go in the Yu-Gi-Oh CARD Advice Thread. Please check existing threads before starting a new one. Also, OB is not meant for trading cards- just for discussing them. If there's someone who you want to trade with, then PM them about it.

Heh, I seem to be getting good at being the runner-up ^_^;

I'm glad you like the site- you have Altron Gundam to thank for that seeing as he made most, if not all of the contributions to it. Welcome to the boards, YugiBoy (heh, I'm going to think of Pegasus whenever I say that). Introductory threads aren't allowed on OB strictly speaking, but the rules haven't been updated to accommodate that yet, so you weren't to know. I wouldn't advise trading in a public thread, either- do it via PMs, if you're going to. There aren't that many places to get UK singles which will give you a good price- most of the internet shops I've seen overprice them way too much. But we always tend to get a bum deal with things like that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay at OtakuBoards. if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Don't forget to read the Rules and have fun! :)

When they happen during sleep, they are hypnogogic hallucinations, so I'm told. Some people think that if you fall into a hole in your dream and hit the bottom then you die, and the 'jump' is your body saving you, but that's not true. The sleep in which dreaming happens is one you can easily be woken up from- it's almost like being awake in terms of brain activity. What happens is that the levels of emotional arousal basically causes you to wake up- in the same way some dreams can be vividly pictured as if you are there, this has the same effect. I think they're quite fun during sleep. Muscle twitches when you're awake can be frustrating, especially if it's your eye or mouth that's doing it. My kneecaps tend to jerk up and down when I'm cold. It gets really annoying after a few minutes, especially when you're trying to walk. If I wore shorts I'm sure it would look really strange. I had muscle spasms after breaking my leg, and boy those were painful.

Cool ^_^ I hope the next bits are as good. I can identify with Von's situation there, not knowing what to do. I could imagine myself being like that, heh. Nice stuff.

Yes, Angel got it. I wasn't very specific with my wording, sorry about that ^_^; I was looking for the cards that they counter *remembers to type more proper next time*

I look around my room At the things we did together. "Forever," you'd said. I never thought That forever would end. You're not here. It's like you never were. The things we did all scattered and torn Colours fade to grey, And I look... Into your eyes, the photos that call me I want to be that love that I see In your eyes. I want to be the one who holds you. I want to be the one who's reflected In your eyes. I walk around To the places we went together I look, and I see What we used to be. Who I used to be before I lost you. I'm not here. I could have never been here. My mind collapses into tiny shards Of a dream I might have once had. And I see... In your eyes, staring at me I want to be the love that I was In your eyes. I want to be held by you. I want to be an immortal reflection In your eyes. Dedicated to Weh.

The Worst you've ever been zoned out
Solo Tremaine replied to LostProphet's topic in General Discussion
I usually zone out when listening to my music. I'll have the headphones on and turn the volume up really loudly and just lie in bed daydreaming to it. And I can be there for ages- sometimes I've had the music on, let my thoughts wander for what I think is about a second, and then realise I'm three tracks later ^_^; Whenever someone knocks on the door I leap six feet out of bed, though. It always gives me a fright. It's almost like falling asleep. -
Aidian let out a triumphant laugh as his arm squeezed around Rayne's neck. "I thought I'd catch you snooping around here. Thought you could get the drop on me, did you?" he growled, tightening his grip. Rayne pulled at his arm around her neck, trying to break free. His skin was ice cold. As things around her started to blur together, she knew she had to do something. Concentrating, she lifted her arm up and slammed her elbow deep into her captor's side. His grip loosened and she pulled herself free, whirling herself round and spinning the dirk from its scabbard. Aidian smiled slyly. "Clever..." he hissed. "But not clever enough!" He threw his hands out in front of him and a barrage of ice needles flew from his palms, careening into the girl and knocking her form the egde of the cliff. Aidian peered over the egde, expecting to see a grizzly sight at the bottom. Now where did she fall? Leaning slightly further over the egde, he noticed something glinting in the dim light. It was coming towards him. Suddenly, something struck his jaw and he fall back onto the ground, dazed. "Hah!" Rayne chortled, watching Aidian writhe on the floor. "Even sparrows have claws, idiot." Aidian hauled himself to his feet and spat at her in disgust. "Why bother trying to fight a battle you cannot win? Standing against our forces is suicide." he scowled, ignoring the blood trickling from his jaw. "It's a better fate than falling to Ilmiwyrth!" Rayne yelled, brandishing her dirk at him. She could slit his throat so easily... Aidian retreated slightly. He knew it would be a mistake to come up unarmed. "I'll make sure you're the one Ilmiwyrth executes first under the new order." he screamed back, running back into the forest towards the camp. "Too frightened to do it yourself, coward?" she hollered back. It was a shallow victory, and it didn't mean anything. If nothing else, Aidian would have a greater passion to kill her than he already did. She had to find somewhere else to camp for the night. * * * Aidian wiped the blood from his jaw in frustration. He should know better than to let her get away. He slammed his fist onto the table in frustration, sending maps and battle plans flying all over the tent. His white hair was tinted with the blood and mud of the fierce battles he'd fought coming to Corock. The resistance was getting stronger. But it didn't matter. Soon everyone would be under Master Ilmiwyrth's command, and there was nothing they could do to stop it, no matter how many heroes they sent after them. Grabbing a sheathed sword from the floor, he strapped it to his belt and went outside to give the lieutenants their orders.

Name: Aidian Solore Age: 25 Gender: Male Affiliation: Evil Power: Manipulation of wind and ice Weapon: Glaive with a small spear-blade at the other end. Occupation (if applicable): Captain of a regiment of guards under (insert main villain)?s command. Appearance: Altered version of the guy on the link below- It?s not actually him (has no tiara), but saves me having to draw him out. He's just for the general idea- I'm not too sure how to describe some of what he's wearing, so it's better for you to see. He has dark blue eyes and long white hair. His breastplate is a light blue with cobalt edging, and the spirally designs on it are also etched in this colour. Just below his neck on the breastplate is a diamond-shaped blue crystal. He wears metal gauntlets, with cobalt eagles and wolves etched upon them, along with deep blue jewels in their centre. He also wears lower leg armour in this style (with a triangular 'dip' for the knee to fit in, also jewelled), and has black boots, trousers and shirt. Bio: From a massive city high in the mountains, Aidian has always had dreams of glory. Not always as an evil influence per se, but he believed that their city had watched the world fly past them for too long, and that they had to set themselves among the ruling capitals of the planet. Needless to say, when he was promoted to Captain of the Guard he set about enforcing the city?s huge military capabilities in nearby villages and towns, and when the dark forces invaded he signed the army over to them to ensure they had a place in the victory. He serves (insert main villain) with a fierce loyalty, and is often blinded to reason by other people. He believes that the supremacy of the dark forces is best for everyone.
Originally posted by Jinzouningen17 Best Anime Music: Hands down, its Yu-Gi-Oh!(Japanese version). The opening themes are lovely, I simply LOVE the background music, and I havent heard a bad closing theme to this series yet. Yu Yu Hakusho comes in a VERY close second though.
Yes ^_^ I love the Yu-Gi-Oh music too. The opening and closing themes have a great sound- the voices, instuments, the arrangement. I'm not so keen on the background music, though, although that's just me. It's still good, but it just lacks something for me. I've only got and heard the first soundtrack, though. I like the American Yu-Gi-Oh soundtrack too, but it's not as good as some of the other series mentioned here. Like NGE, heh. The US dub of the Digimon music is something I really like (particularly the biomerge and digivolution scenes). It's a pity they've not released it on CD >_

They affect monsters on both sides of the field, including your opponent's. Unfortunately :p.
-
The Attack of all face-up Water-Type monsters on the field would decrease by 500 and the Attack of all face-up Fire monsters would increase by 400. Which magic and trap cards have specific (i.e. apply only to those cards) counter magic and/or trap cards?
-
No, once Dark Necrofear is destroyed as an Equip Magic Card it is destroyed for good, and doesn't go on to control another monster. If it was destroyed by Mystical Space Typhoon then you would also lose the equipped monster, but it wouldn't be destroyed- just handed back to the other player. But you can choose which monster to equp DN to if your opponent has more than one on the field. Welcome to the boards, by the way ^_^ Be sure to read the rules and have fun.

Fantastic stuff, DeathBug ^_^ I love the dialogue and description- the emotion in it's very good. I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm a sucker for animal-aliens, hehe.

Lupaemon looked around. They appeared to be on top of a hight cliff-face, with little else but rock all around them. "Great trail, Loopy." Tesoromon sighed, looking down at the ground far down below them. "Now what do we do?" "We climb." he said flatly, clambering over the rocks to see if he could find a way down. As he did, he felt something on his arm. Kylala smiled at him and pointed down a valley with her tail. At the end of the mountain range was a large Digital city. "How about down there?" Tesoromon called. "That looks like a place where we could find some intelligence." "Oh, like I'm not?" Lupaemon called back. Tesoromon shook her head, smiling playfully. "Not a chance." Lupaemon rolled his eyes and started sliding down the side of the mountain.

"Ryouka, is it?" The orange-haired boy nodded slowly, staring atthe man intently. He really hated him being here. "I understand you've been having problems settling in after your... disappearance." the social worker said in a monotone voice, sifting through some papers. Ryouka nodded. His long, spiky hair drooped down over his forehead. His black jacket was still torn in places. "Now..." the social worker hesitated slightly. "...what happened to you when you went away?" he asked quietly, pretending to sound concerned. Ryouka said nothing. He folded his arms and looked away. "Are you going to tell me?" the man asked again. "I already told you." the boy's once strong voice was little more than a hoarse whisper. "Yes, Ryouka. But..." the man started. "...we both know that the Digital World doesn't exist." Ryouka flinched. "Oh, you are so wrong." he said, smiling slightly. "It's a very real place. And it's better than here." The man smiled grimly. "Now, Ryouka. You don't mean that." * * * * * CRASH! The chair smashed through the glass window, showering the terrace with glass. Ryouka dropped to his knees and punched the floor. "Idiot! He has no idea what he's talking about!" he screamed. He'd oved the Digital World. He didn't have to leave. None of them did. Then why did he? The aching memories of leaving Chase behind burned into his mind. Every night he'd wake up to the same dream, his face always streaming with tears. He hated it here. He'd always hated it here. Running his fingers through his hair, he looked at his computer. He'd been close to giving up at times. But he knew he had to get back somehow. Even if it meant driving himself to suicide. The screensaver bounced around the empty screen like a one-sided game of Pong. Sick of seeing the same message dash and shift around the darkness, he shook the mouse. In the corner of the screen was a small flashing icon. He'd forgotten he'd left his e-mail program open. It was probably spam, or one of the other masters trying to get through to him. The only ones he'd really talked to outside of the Digital World were Mina and Furora, and he'd not replied to any of their e-mails in weeks. It wasn't that he didn't want to see them. He was just... afraid. Slowly, he clicked on the icon. His inbox exploded onto the screen, with a newly-arrived e-mail in bold writing at the top of the list. It was in a strange font, too. Curious, he opened it. Ryouka? Ryouka's heart skipped a beat. Ryou, it's Chase. Hee, remember me? I hope you're okay. He couldn't believe it. It had to be a joke. We need you back, Ryou. I hope you can hear me. Ryouka toched the screen. "What do I do?" he croaked. Please, Ryou. If you can hear us, click on the link. If not, then... um... hehe, I guess we'll have to... um... Ryouka's shocked expression broke into a smile. Slowly but boldly, he took the mouse and clicked on the link. A bright light enveloped him and he was sucked through, back into the Digital World...

Fox shoved the blaster into the holster and started skuling around the castle. It was very nice-looking, with lots of gold stars and mushrooms with eyes watching you wherever you went, but he wasn't in a mood for taking it in. He wandered into the gardens, where most of the festival was still being prepared. There were huge amounts of mushrooms floating across the ground. Some were green and white, some red and white. Either way, Fox was going to be sure to try and avoid them. The people of the Mushroom Kingdom were doing their best to set everything up properly: putting up banners, stalls selling flowers, mushrooms and strange flashing stars which bounced erratically around in their containers. He was sure he could hear a racetrack nearby. Curious, he wandere up to a red mushroom and poked it. It disappeared. Suddenly, a strange noise like a cross between a trumpet and a gurgling plughole filled his ears. He could feel himself rocketing towards the sky. "OI!" Fox opened his eyes. He must have been at least twice as tall as he was before. The mushroom shaped vendor below shook his fists angrily. "Sorry." Fox boomed. "What was that?" "Who cares what it was? You haven't paid for it." "Stingy, these folk are." he thought. Those mini-games over to one side were sure to be pretty expensive, too. "But I didn't want to take your ridiculous mushroom." Fox ran his fingers through his fur, trying deperately to resist the urge to squish the very small Mushroom person into consomme. "I can give you another mushroom to make you small again, but it'll cost you." the red-faced vendor shouted up. "Fine. Fox reached into his pocket and threw some coins at him. They crashed into the ground (again, twice the size). Siging, the vendor tossed Fox another mushroom. It was a purple one this time. As soon as it touched him, it vanished, and a reverse of the noise he heard earlier filled his ears. He felt everything around him getting bigger... He opened his eyes again. From way above him, the vendor looked down. "Hmm. That doesn't usually happen..." he boomed. Fox cursed under his breath and walked off, being careful not to trip over the blades of grass on his way.

Just as a reminder, remember to post why these are your favourite cards. That was the proviso on which I kept up the thread. No spam, please ;) I find Imperial Order very useful (or at least in a Duel I had today I did)- my opponent couldn't do anything, hehe. Very useful for keeping equip-mad people down, and also protects you from Raigeki until you're ready to counter it with Magic Jammer or whatever.
Originally posted by Fall I cannot sleep without music. I like to have Metallica, Evanescence, Staind, Trust Company, Nirvana, or any good band like that playing. That means I have to burn a CD in the exact order I want. Usually I'll turn the CD Player up to its loudest -that's when I fall to sleep the quickest. Then mum comes and turns it down. Then I turn it back up. Simple.
I have to listen to music too, although I generally have something a little more relaxing and quiet. I like the music loud, but not that loud unless I have it on headphones, and you can't sleep in the leviathan ones I have :bluesweat. I usually put on Evangelion, Zoids or anything else from my soundtrack collection. Silence makes me think too much, and when I'm tired I tend to think of rather disturbing things that keep me awake. Although I don't tend to hear blood vessels moving around my brain o_o; Usually I like to have the blanket in a certain position, too- underneath my back and shoulders and then wrapped around my front like a cocoon. I like being snug, heh. Before I can do anything to get to bed, though, I have to check OB and talk to my friends, even if it's for five minutes (which it isn't. 'Five minutes' usually equals two hours). I get very annoyed if I miss anything or feel I've not said something that needs to be said.

Yami: On second thought, maybe I shouldn't have eaten Joey's cooking. Tea, Tristan, Bakura, Kaiba, Serenity: We told you so! Joey: Hey! My cooking's fine. Yami: It sent me to the Shadow Realm, Joey. Joey :bluesweat Jus' wait a couple a hours, you'll be back again before you know it. Yami: o_o; *goes to find Shadow Toliet*

Oh yes, I know which one you mean now. I don't think it's been made into a card yet. There are a few in the Battle City/Blimp arc which we've not seen before (as of English releases thus far) along with the Living Arrow from DK, which still doesn't exist in the CCG yet, like
Embodiement of Apophis which Odeon plays in his duel against Joey, and the various magic cards he uses to bring out a strange egyptian scorpion thing
Fox seethed as he watched over the unconscious Next-Gen. He was so close to pulling the trigger, to blasting this cold-hearted creature's brain to smithereens. The blaster shook in his hand slightly. But his shot probably wouldn't do any good. It took Samus one of her Super Missiles just to knock him unconscious. His blaster wouldn't do a thing, save for singe a few hairs. That was hardly a justice for his team-mate's severe injury. At least, he hoped it would stay an injury. With the Great Fox having crash-landed ROB wouldn't be operating at his full capacity, and that could affect his operating on Falco. As long as he stayed alive, that was all that mattered. This war had already caused Krystal to disappear, he didn't want to lose another of his friends. He hoped Samus would hurry. If Sephiroth could withstand a blast that big, the chances are that he'd not be knocked out for that long...
