1. Ah, it's a tough choice...
Originally posted by Cyke A picture taken in GAINAX studios shows the Evangelion creators at work.
Cyke's really did make me laugh, though. So it's his turn again. Lady A's the runner up. Good stuff, heh.
2. Eee! Fantastic *is winner* ^_^ Thanks, Cyke. Here's mine (again. I had to edit it):
3. Please support our charity, helping us to provide contact lenses for dogs. Help prevent accidents like this from happening again. Call 1-800-DOGGYSEE for more information.
4. To an extent, I would say yes. Violence is an innate trait, but nurture can alter the ways in which it forms and expresses itself. And it depends on your biological characteristics in the first place- as has been said, people with a greater predisposition for violence are more likely to be violent. But that's not to say everyone who does becomes violent. It all depends on the context, situation and environmental factors at the time.
5. Lupaemon walked over to the Spirit slowly. It was a gray wolf in armour. A metal mask shone in the dim light, blades on its shoulders silhouetted in the darkness. Small sleek cannons protruded from its back. "Very stylish..." Lupaemon whispered. He held out a hand to touch its back. Suddenly, the wolf's eyes shone brightly and it sped off into the darkness. "What did you do?" Tesoromon hissed, watching it leave. "I didn't-" Lupaemon started. No, argueing wasn't going to get them anywhere now. "I think we should follow it." He said quietly. Tesoromon shrugged. "Well, we haven't exactly got another choice. Let's go." * * * Some while later, hey reached a junction underground. "Which way now?" Tesormon asked. Lupaemon didn't know. "Uh..." "Don't tell me we're lost!" she blurted. It wasn't comfortable in the dark caves underground. "Shh!" "Why?" "Just... shh!" Lupaemon couldn't see the Beast Spirit anywhere. It had just disappeared. Maybe this was where he was supposed to make his decision that would lead him to it. His 'test', as it were. "Um..." "You said that already." "Shh!" "I won't 'shh'! Which way do we go?" Tesoromon was getting impatient. "Uh... left." Lupaemon strode into the passageway, Tesoromon clse behind him. "Are you sure this is the right way?" Lupaemon sighed. "No. But we have to try something. I think this is the way to the cliffs by the ocean." It was tough having to make important decisions with someone else there. When he was on his own it didn't matter- he didn't have anyone else to worry about. He didn't want Tesoromon to get hurt because of him. Quietly, the two of them continued down the tunnel.
6. I'd be very annoyed if all anime disappeared. It's been a major form of entertainment for me for years- I love he animation, the storylines, almost everything about it (save the rather graphic violence at times). Much better than most cheap american animations (you can't leave us with things like Stargate: Infinity!!). Uh, I guess I'd concentrate on creating my own stories more to pass the time. That, or completely disappear into Phantasy Star Online...
7. Character Name: Fox McCloud Character Personality: Honourable and good-natured, Fox has good leadership and teammate characteristics, having been leader of the Starfox team for so long. He has a strong determination and as such will b inclined to do anything to achieve a goal, but not at the expense of hurting others. Well, not too much anyway... Home: The Great Fox, which flies around the Lylat System. Other: Don't pull his tail. And no rabies jokes.
8. Still no Torrential Tribute in restricted. Ah well. I guess it's because it's activated when your opponent summons a monster as opposed to any time- when activating it you wouldn't be getting rid of that many monsters, I suppose. I'm a little surprised that Tribute to the Doomed isn't restricted, but meh.
9. Don't forget to rate other people's decks, guys. I's fairly rude and almost makes the thread redundant if there are no suggestions being given. DeathBug, that deck looks very good. I can't think of anything much to improve it apart from maybe having Seven Tools of the Bandit and Magic Jammer- I know they're staples in my decks. And Horn of Heaven, maybe. Waboku is usefulk, too. Also, lots of Life Point loss effects from your cards there. I know you have Solemn Wishes, but that may not be enough to restore everything you lose with various effects. Masterdramon- you don't need that many low-level monsters. Really you need enough for your tribute monsters and a few more, but not that many. Otherwise your chances of getting a trap or magic card you really need (like Raigeki) greatly reduces. I'd get rid of the intermediate ones (i.e. ones with not much ATK and DEF, keep extremes of both).
10. I don't think adults give some children enough credit. The thing about video games (or the vast majority of them at least) is that they don't look anywhere near as realistic as things in real life. The problems comes in games like Hitman 2 when the lines between fantasy and reality start to blur, which hyper-realistic death animations and situations. I'm not saying this applies to everyone, but it could be a contributing factor to violence. But it would only be in those with a certain predisposition to violence. People love a scapegoat. They don't want to think that the parents might be the cause of the problem by maybe not talking to their children at all and then wondering why they go out and gun down a whole classroom. A lot of things are treated unfairly because of the media launching upon it trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Mind you, having said that, I don't like video games that are too violent. I myself wouldn't want to play Hitman 2 because it just seems to realistic for my liking. There has to be an element of fantasy in there for it to stay 'comfortably violent' without being like an interactive Tarantino movie. But that's just me. I'm sure the vast majority of people who play these games have sense enough to know when the boundries of the video game stop. But in psychopaths this isn't so clear. Games don't make them do it, but it might fuel their desire to. And really, you can't say that games don't get you stressed at all. They do me, and I very rarely get angry. Usually when I've been beaten I get fairly ratty for a few minutes afterwards, but it passes after that. In places where the agression is maintained, e.g after playing in an arcade, getting beaten and then being shouted at by a teacher for being late, there may be a heightened possibility of violence happening. As has been said, I think it mostly lies with the parents' responsibility to make sure their child behaves sensibly. They aren't completely safe, computer games, but they are safer than some scaremongers make them out to be.
11. I cen never remember which is the proper spelling of grey/gray. I think I tend to use grey, but I probably chop and change depending on which comes into mind first. If nothing else I'll put gr[scribble]y, and people can work it out form there. I have problems with u, too (Heh...). Mostly in gauge or tongue. I keep writing gague or tounge. It's really bizarre. Although personally I prefer the British spellings of 'colour' etc. As for pet peeves of english- misuse of apostrophes get me. People here use it far too often to signify a plural, like 'orange's', and it shouldn't be used for that. An example of people trying to be too intelligent but actually getting it wrong- hyperextension or something like that. Another thing which annoys me is when people say 'should of', as in 'I should of said something'. Really, it should be 'should have'. Should of doesn't make any sense if you break it down logically into its components. That's verbal pronunciation breaking into written form (English Language A-Levels make me feel sooo smart...)
12. Three months later... Aidian lay back on his bed, thinking about the Battle Cruise tournament. He was back in England now, and after three months he'd still not managed to see Faron again. Ah well. At least the money for the tournament was lasting well. He glanced at his deck. His new Dark deck worked well... but it wasn't much fun not having anyone much to play against. A yell from downstairs distracted him. "Aidian! Post!" He grabbed the letter from his dad, smiled and ran upstairs. It was from KaibaCorp. Dear Aidian, I'm writing to you to invite you to another of my exclusive tournaments... Aidian couldn't believe his eyes. He had two weeks to prepare. Smiling happily, he started packing his case...
13. OOC: Heh, I mean the Rogue Doll's soul ^_^; --------------------------------------------------- The Gate Guardian crashed up to underneath the hole that the others had fled through. Silently it thought to itself before returning inot the darkness. "Jinzo, we have found a way into the Light Realm. It's right underneath the castle." A Spear Cretin squeaked. "Good." Jinzo boomed. A black mist formed in front of him, and a shadowy figure stepped out from it. "We have five Spirits now. All we need is one from the Dark Realm." Doma hissed. Jinzo pointed over to The Masked Beast. He was a loyal servant, but Jinzo didn't care about that any more. Once Dark Necrofear was summoned there was nothing that could stop them. The Masked Beast looked to Doma fearfully. Even in his own realm, Doma was much feared by others for his immense power. "Time to go, Beast..." he hissed. The Masked Beast's terified sceam echoed throughout the pitch black tunnels, awakening monsters from their dark slumber... * * * * * Valkyrion sat in thought. It was good to be back to his old self again. Not having the ability to speak annoyed him. Still, it took all the energy he had just keeping himself together. It took a lot out of him to fire his attack upon himself to cause the gigantic explosion, and then to have to have himself reborn as Three Magnet Warriors in the Earth Temple. He was too tired to try and explain it to everyone. They had to think of a way to defeat Dark Necrofear. If Nico had been taken over, then they already had four Exodia pieces, and they'd be coming here next. They needed more time...
14. Ryo looked to Ashok cautiously. This match held the potential fate of the world at stake. The Swords of Revealing Light would no longer be affecting Ashok in the next turn. He hoped he'd be able to do something to negate his attack to give his monster long enough time to cause damage to his Life Points. He really needed Raigeki. Closing his eyes, he drew a card. It wasn't what he was hoping for, but it would work just as well. Fissure. "I sacrifice my Soul-Haunting Spirit to summon Vampire Lord in Attack Mode! And I play Fissure to destroy your Apophis!" Ashok scoffed. "You fool! Apophis can't be defeated by one poxy magic card!" "We'll see! Vampire Lord, attack Ashok's ife Points directly!" "You've activated my Trap!" Ashok yelled. "Enchanted Javelin raises my Life Points by the attacking monster's attack points, meaning your Vampire leaves me unharmed." "Yeah, but his effect means that you have to discard a whole load of your cards to the Graveyard. I choose Traps!" "Damn you..." Ashok growled. Ashok looked at his hand. He still had some Traps left in there. They'd do him well. He set two cards face down, watched as Apophis reappeared and ended his turn. Aidian (Kyriss) looked at the others nervously. His monsters weren't nearly as powerful as any of the others. He set his Nimble Momonga in face-down defense position, set one Magic/Trap card face down and ended his turn. Shinji gave him a nod, and flashed him a glimpse of his Black Paladin card. Ashok drew one card and looked at Aidian's face-down card. He didn't want to risk anything, but he could get rid of that infernal Buster Blader. "Apophis, attack his Buster Blader!" Kyriss flipped up his face-down card- Waboku. Cursing, Ashok waited for Hermes to make his move.
15. OOC: Heh, sorry I've been out of it for so long. With school coming to an end you'd almost expect there to be less work -___- No such luck. ------------------------------------------------ Lupaemon gave Tesoromon a wry smile as the two of them leapt from the Greymon's snout, causing the other to crash into it blindly. "Ha!" Lupaemon laughed, twirling his sword in a boast. Tesoromon sighed and rolled her eyes as another Greymon stormed through the trees behind the black wolf. "Watch out!" she yelled, leaping forwards. She caught the black wolf just in time- the massive scaly foot slammed down onto the ground where he was standing. He picked himself off the ground and brushed himself off. "You didn't have to do that..." he said quietly. "Well, if not me then who else? You were too busy admiring yourself." Tesoromon retorted. Lupaemon clenched his hand around his sword handle in mild frustration as the three Greymon came back to face them. As he prepared to leap up at them again, a thought crossed his mind- why were they attacking unprovoked? They didn't have time to think about it now, though. They prepared for action.
16. OOC: Is back? Heh, sorry I've left this for so long- I've no idea where my time's gone recently. Too much stuff going on. Anyway- for the moment, I'm back. If anyone's still reading this, I'm going to start bringing it to an end now. I'll post the first bit that gets us near the final conclusion, then if no-one replies I'll post the end of it. It's been fun. Thanks all for signing up ^_^ ----------------------------------------------------- The Masked Beast crawled over to his master. "The final Exodia piece is within our grasp." he hissed. Behind him in the darkness stood Nico, his eyes grey and void of life. The Water and Wind realms had given up their pieces without much resistance. Even the Crab Turtles and Harpies were too weak for their forces. They were becoming more powerful, and soon they would be upon the Light Realm. The Masked Beast's master turned to face him. "Very good. But we still need Dark Necrofear for our plan to work. How many more spirits does the Angel of Silence need? "Just two." "Two too many..." his master hissed. He raked his massive black claws along the cave wall in frustration. "Where is he?" "He is in the Light Realm as we speak, Eliminating his next soul..>" * * * * * Nexcii fell to the floor as he felt the dark power surging through his veins. His skin felt cold, his eyes burned. A deep rage started building up inside him while the others watched, near helpless. Melody leapt forwards at Doma. "Leave him alone!" she yelled, brandishing her staff at the Angel of Silence. He scoffed and with a wave of his sceptre sent her reeling back against the wall. "How can he be soo strong?" Silistra growled. Mared gripped his sword tightly. "He draws his powers from the Shadow Realm, which grows in size every second. We have to find a way to destroy him before he can summon Dark Necrofear." * * * * "Look out!" Rydia yelled as a Labyrinth Tank burst through a wall in fornt of the three Magnet Warriors. They jumped back slightly as she took aim with her Arrow. As she pulled it form her quiver, it glowed a pure gold. The Living Arrow. It flew from her drawn bow swiftly and silently, and completely pierced the shell of the massive tank. It stopped in its tracks. The Magnet Warriors turned to face her with a look of confusion on their faces. "The Living Arrow allows me to tak control of a monster I hit with it. I don't have long, though. There are others down here?" The Magnet Warriors nodded. Rydia slowly walked forwards, and the Labyrinth Tank crashed through another wall. This was a much quicker route. Suddenly, a second Tank barged into the first, completely wrecking both of them. Four blue concussed-looking Kuriboh hopped from the top of the second one and looked at the four of them. From behind them emerged Chaos, Blue-Eyes, Neo and Millenniuth. A look of relief swept over Alpha, Beta and Gamma as Rydia started explaining their situation. "Well, we're just glad to see someone who knows where they're going." Neo smiled at Rydia. "But we shouldn't wait around for too long- this place is full of Labyrinth Tanks." Quickly, led by the Magnet Warriors, they ran in the direction of the Light Realm. * * * * * Doma's evil cackle echoed throughout the room as he watched Nexcii write in agony on the floor. The Ekibyo Drakmord spell was well underway now. Soon Nexcii would belong completely to the Dark Realm again. Faith frantically looked around for something that could aid them. Nexcii was a very powerful Black Paladin- if he was set loose in the castle even the Magician of Chaos wouldn't be able to stop him. Suddenly, they noticed a rumbling sound from underneath them. From the marble flooring, a huge blade erupted through the surface. Chaos, riding on Blue-Eyes' back, burst through the ground. The massive dragon roared feircely at Doma while the Magnet Warriors climbed up. Neo helped Rydia through the hole and Feyd hitched a ride on Millenniuth. "Reinforcements!" Mared sighed with relief, helping Melody to her feet. Seyairyu and her Kuriboh watched on with concern. Doma's expression hardened to a grimace. This was more than he anticipated. He had to perform the ritual before these fools interfered with everything. Slowly, he started twirling his staff through the air. A dark orb formed in the air above him, and black lightning began to strike form it. "Gravity Bind!" Instantly, everyone apart from Feyd fell to their knees. They couldn't move. Doma's laugh echoed throughout the chambers as he disappeared to Eliminate his next soul. Feyd watched in annoyance as the demon flew away. Why wasn't anyone doing anything? Silistra pointed to her staff. "Kuriboh, you have to hand me my staff, quickly!" Feyd ignored her not knowing his name and split into two, each of him grabbing one end of the sceptre. She held it in her hand and started muttering a chant. "Light of Intervention!" A bright white light spread over the entire room, the black orb disappeared and Nexcii stopped writhing on the floor. The Light of Intervention spell stalled any Magic effects for a short while. It would be enough to destroy the Gravity Bind spell, but it might not be enough to save Nexcii. Hurriedly, all those who could fit through the chamber doors sprinted after Doma. They arrived at the scene too late. A Rogue Doll was lying on the floor, devoid of soul. A cackling Doma stood on the rafters of the high chamber. "You will never be able to defeat me!" he roared. Chaos had had enough. "Torrential Tribute!" he screamed, throwing streams of Blue Lightning towards Doma. They crashed into the ceiling, showering them with debris. The Magnet Warriors looked around apprehensively. There was no sign of Doma there. "Is he dead?" Faith asked quietly. "NEVER!" Dome shrieked, launching himself at Faith, his bladed staff heading straight for her throat. "Mirror Force!" a deep voice boomed. The Three Magnet Warriors leapt in front of Faith and their spell sent Doma crashing into the wall behind him. The Angel of Silence hissed in frustration as in front of him the three Magnet Warriors began to combine. Valkyrion's eyes flashed brightly when the merging was complete. "Time to die, Doma!" he yelled, drawing his sword. He lunged straight for Doma, plunging his sword into the Angel's chest. He let out a ghostly scream before disappearing in an explosion of dark dust. All that was left was a cracked Hand Mirror. Valkyrion stood triumphantly over where the monster had been destroyed, and everyone exchanged looks of relief with one another... except Faith. She stared at the mirror, shaking her head. "He's not gone yet..." * * * * * The Masked Beast bowed to his master as he slowly stood up from his throne. His dark green cloak swept eerily across the ground, and his breath drew in sinisterly through the metal breathing mask on his face. Purple-lensed eyes scanned the room. "The Light soul has been taken. It is time to wake Dark Necrofear." Jinzo growled.
17. I'd have more Fissures and Tributes to the Doomed, seeing as Trap Hole ain't available, maybe in place of Ekibyo Drakmord. Spear Cretin could be useful too, if you wanted to bring back a monster. Also, I might have three Nimble Momongas (useful little things, they are) and/or Enchanted Javelins in there too, for more protection. In place of some others, of course.
18. Just merged the threads. Please check existing threads carefully, please.
19. I so thought that was a fake card... It's actually Lily-Injection Angel (MA-11), from the Mythological Age Japanese Booster Pack. Although really you should have asked in the Yu-Gi-Oh CARD Advice Thread, as that's where questions about cards go.
20.
Tea challenged Mai to a duel to win some star chips for Yugi. In the end, Tea won because Mai chose not to flip over her Harpie's Feather Duster (or whatever card it was going to be). Yugi then snapped out of his trance and took the star chips.
Thanks, guys. Seeing as the question's been answered, I'm going to close the thread now.
21. These are made-up cards, Altron. They don't have to be too realistic. People can let their imaginations flow a bit here, if they want to. There's no reason to derogate them because it's not strictly accurate according to the CCG.
22. They don't fuse as such- you can tribute them all to summon Magnet Valkyrion (Valkyrion the Magna Warrior). That's in the card game, anyway. In the anime, Yugi fuses them to form Valkyrion.
23. Duelist of the Roses is already out, and with that came Alpha, Beta and Gamma the Magnet Warriors. The God Cards are already out in a sense, but have no effects printed on them. It's whether Tournament legal God Cards will come out soon that matters.
24. "Damn you, Wee-bull, you win this time." heh, Weebl and Bob are cool ^_^
25. EDIT: Heh, post above got in while I was typing this one >_
