1. I have a question about Special Summoning. If you had the three Magnet Warriors (Alpha, Beta and Gamma, for those who don't know) on your side of the field and Valkyrion was in your Graveyard, would you be able to Special Summon him from there rather than play him from your hand? It still meets the requirements of the summon, but it's just not hand-play. Is that allowed?
2. You can't change your name yourself- you have to put in a request with James, Charles or Adam, I believe. The name-changing goes in waves. If you've missed it this time round, don't worry. In a few weeks or so they'll start taking requests again.
3. It wouldn't be a graphic showing even if that did happen. It's still primarily a kid's anime, you know.
4. Ah, I'm really sorry Kairi and Sakuramon ^_^; I completely missed your posts. I'll delete my other one and start again. Right, here we go... ---------------------------------------------- Lupaemon looked down at the small cat-like creature by his feet. "What do you want?" he asked, watching it circle round his legs. It started walking towards where Kaede was hiding. She froze as the black digimon marched up, still following the cat. "Kylala.... don't..." she whispered fearfully as the black Lobomon knelt down to inspect what the cat was pointing at. In his digimon form, he was a good six feet tall, which pleased the boy inside. "Hello?" he said quietly, hearing a noise. Being a wolf gave him extra good hearing. Suddenly, a girl sprang up from the bush, smiling nervously. Lupaemon stepped back a bit, cautious. "Who are you?" "Thanks a lot, Kylala..." Kaede thought. "Erm... my name's Kaede. And... you're a digimon, yes?" "Almost." Lupaemon said slyly. He closed his eyes. Concentrating on the form he wanted to become, he felt himself becoming weaker and his form slowly chaning to it's 'normal self'. In front of Kaede stood a tall boy with light-blue hair and black clothes. "I'm Aidian," he said with a quick smile and a wink.
5. Ryan picked himself off the floor and helped Yami to his feet. Kyriss shuffled nervously on his feet. "What's up, Kyriss?" Ryan asked. Kyriss looked over to Yami, who wore an expression of concern. It was bad enough being in front of the legendary Yugi Moto, but having to tell him that someone was trying to attack him or whatever was worse. "Er... Yugi, I think someone's out to get you. I heard them saying something about a Pharoah's power, and... the power I felt there was... be careful, Yugi." Yami nodded, whispered something to Ryan about finding Kaiba and then swiftly left. Ryan and Kyriss sat down at a table and bought some drinks. As they drank them, Kyriss looked at his ocator cards. "You know... this is a lot of cards to have to carry around. Maybe Kaiba couls have less for the next tournament he does." Ryan nodded, feeling the strain of the cards around his neck. "Yeah, heh. Will you be at the next one?" Kyriss held up his 30 cards. "Yep, got 30 here." "Cool." Ryan smiled, taking a gulp of his drink. It was a fruit juice, but he couldn't tell what sort. he looked back to Kyriss again. "Kyirss is a bit of an odd name for someone from Britain, isn't it?" he said. Kyriss nodded and smiled. "It's not my real name. I took it form my middle name, which is Chris." "Then what's your real name?" Ryan asked, smiling with curiosity. "It's... Aidian." "What's so bad about that?" Ryan asked. Kyriss blushed slightly. "Nothing... I just got bullied about it at achool because I sounded too posh. I wanted to be taken seriously at this tournament so I thought a better-sounding name would be more appropriate. Ryan took another swig of his drink. "So what should I call you?" Kyriss smiled. "Aidian would do fine, Ryan."
6. Kyriss made his way up to where Ryan was duelling. At least, he guessed that's where he'd be. As he wandered up to the higher decks, he heard someone whispering in a corner. "And you're sure you saw them?" "Yes sir." "That may put our plans askew... but no-one can stay the King of Games forever. Everyone has a fault, and we can exploit theirs. Soon the world will fall under the Pharoah's power, which will be mine!" Kyriss froze. Did he mean Yugi Moto? What was he planning to do? As much as he wanted to listen for more information, he knew full well that snooping could get him into trouble. Hurriedly, he ran back the way he came to find Ryan.
7. The Magnet Warriors dived to the floor as the flock of dark rodents swarmed overhead. Rydia squeezed herself into a crack in the wall and waited for them to pass. Hordes and hordes of them swooped past, their claws and wings scraping the four warriors as they covered themselves. Eventually, they passed. The Magnet Warriors pulled themselves up and looked back to Rydia, whose arm was swollen with scrates by the Bats. Alpha gave her a concerned look. "I'm fine." she said, lighting up another Flame Spear. Cautiously, they crept further into the darkness. A large cavern stretched out before them, and large walls stood in front of them. A Labyrinth. They had to go one particular way to get to the Light realm. But the Magnet Warriors had been here before... Gamma pointed left at the Labyrinth entrance. Rydia was apprehensive about entering. A faint rumbling sound reverberated around the cave eerily. "Wait." She called. "You sure we can get to the Light realm from here?" she asked the Gamma Warrior. He nodded. "You know the way?" She asked again. The rumbling grew slightly louder, and this time she could have sworn she heard shouts. The Magnet Warriors heard it too. They looked right. "Chaos." They thought. Suddenly, they sprinted into the Labyrinth, Rydia following close behind. She had no idea where they were going, but there was something else down here with them. They were more than likely going to meet it fight it, but it sure beat doing scout duty...
8. Phoenix, if I remember correctly (and I probably don't, heh), is an interstellar being which (in the series anyway) possessed Jean's body when she was saving a space shuttle which some of the X-Men were in from breaking up in the Earth's orbit. I'm not too sure of her origins, though. I saw X2 yesterday, and I thought it was fantastic. They've not had a better cast, I think. Hugh Jackman is excellent as Wolverine, and I think he adds more humanity to Logan than in the TV series (I've never read the comics unfortunately). Patrick Stewart is perfect as Xavier, because he has a great fatherly quality to him which was displayed in the original character. And Ian McKellen was great again as Magneto, for all his cool majesticness. I think the ideas in X2 were a lot better than those in X-Men- the plot has certainly been well-written. Although I was disappointed that Gambit and Beast weren't on for more than a few seconds. They were my two favourite characters. Here's hoping for X3, then. And the DVD release of X2, when we can see some deleted scenes ^_^
9.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh Could be any number of things, namely the slobber, bad breath, etc. You have to admit, having a bad kiss, especially with someone you don't really like, can be pretty disgusting. Blech.
I agree with that. I've often had romantic daydreams or whatever in my head in which I've snogged someone, and I've heard some people say it's better than sex but when I actually look at two people as good as eating each other it just puts me off completely. Not that I actually watch them or anything ^_^;, it usually happens when I'm stuck in a room with my friend and his girlfriend. It's the noises for one thing >_< Kisses should be seen and not heard. Trying to work in a library when two people are kissing is extremely frustrating.
10. How often do you visit? Almost every day, whenever I can. Generally I'll come on several times a day, and depending on the activity I can stay for a few hours each time. What's the longest length of your visits? Not sure. Generally they'll be for a few hours at a time, but if I manage to get on before school it'll be for ten minutes at the maximum. What's been your longest stay? During the holidays I've been on for about twelve hours at a time before, depending on whether my connection can handle it. Which forums do you visit? Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Anime Lounge, Adventure Arena, Otaku Lounge, Poetry, Fan Fiction and Literature, Nintendo and Pokemon. Why do you continue to stay at Otakuboards? The great community, all my friends and the interesting discussions. And I moderate here, heh.
11. About plot... that would be interesting, to say the least, but fighting stories are rather difficult to write plots for (Mortal Kombat anyone?), especially ones which cover several different series of games. I know I've tried making one up for SSB:M, but it doesn't work very well. I'd like to have the chance to play as characters like Giga Bowser. Although maybe not at his size, but I love his design, possibly more than proper Bowser. Maybe a chance to play through Adventure or Classic mode with another player might be nice. Or more minigames like the Smash the Sandbag or Break the Targets.
12. caffeinefreak5, please clean up your post quality. Three-word posts with little or no relevance to the topic are spam. I now have three pieces of Exodia, and will shortly be getting a forth hopefully ^_^ Then all I'll need is the head. I quite like the idea of having him in a deck, although I'd be loathe to play a duel with him in. I much prefer other monsters anyway. Besides, I think it's much more worth my while selling him so I can get cards I know I want and use.
13. Heh, that's okay. To be honest, I've forgotten Andrew's surname >_< But never mind. I guess not many people read the Starfox Comics in the Nintendo Power magazine (well, neither did I, but I wrote fanfics :p). If you're interested their full names were Wolf O'Donnell, Leon Powalski, Pigma Dengar and Andrew Somethingoranother. EDIT Oikanny! I knew I knew it. In Starfox 64 if you got all of the Medals on normal Mode, you unlocked Expert mode and were able to drive Tanks in multiplayer. On Expert mode if you got all of the medals you were able to play as Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy on foot in the multiplayer. In the original Smash Bros (for the N64), how did Kirby arrive on the stage at the beginning of a battle?
14. OOC: I'm not sure whether the Tyrant Dragon can only be Special Summoned by a special effect (like removing one Dragon form your Graveyard or whatever), but I'm going to ignore that for this post, if that's okay. It's not like this guy plays fair anyway. ------------------------------------------------- The man's eyes widened in glee as he began to make his move. He threw a card onto the field. "I play Monster Reborn to summon the Tryant Dragon from my Graveyard!" he yelled. Kyriss shuddered as the huge red dragon growled at him threateningly. "It has 2900 Attack points, mre than enough to vanguish your puny Swordsman!" he yelled again, ordering his dragon to attack. Kyriss gasped as the Dragon fired a torrent of flame at Neo and his monster was vaporised. His LP meter bleeped down to 2000. Just as Kyriss was about to draw his card, the man stopped him. "Not so fast, boy! This monster can attack twice if there are monsters on your side of the field!" The man sneered. Kyriss prepared himself for another attack. "But first..." the man said slyly. "I Equip my Tyrant Dragon with Fairy Meteor Crush, which allows me to decimate your Life Points even when your monster is in Defence Mode!" Kyriss almost collapsed when his Whiptail Crow was destroyed. He only had 700 LP left, and no monsters to play that could save him now. He looked at his hand. Enchanted Javelin would only protect him for a turn or so... but he couldn't give up now. He drew a card from his Deck. De-Spell. He looked over to the man shakily, but giving him the most determined look he could give. He wasn't about to lose now. "I set one Monster in Defence Mode and set another card face-down. I also play De-Spell to destroy your Fairy Metero Crush, enabling me to save my Life Points from your Tyrant Dragon." "Only for this turn, boy!" the man yelled. He drew another card. "First, I equip my Tyrant Dragon with Sword of Deep-Seated, Horn of the Unicorn and Axe of Despair, raising its attack power to 5100! be glad my Fairy Meteor Crush card is gone, boy. I also play two 'Sparks' card, which inflict 200 points of Direct Damage each to your Life Points, bringing you down to a measly 300 Life Points. Now, I attack your face-down monster!" Kyriss couldn't believe it. Five Magic cards, all on the opponent's field. Almost in a daze, he flipped up Princess of Tsurugi. Princess of Tsurugi deals 500 points of Direct Damage to you for each Magic or Trap card that you have on the field, losing you every single one of your Life Points." He was close to laughing with triumph and relief. The man stood dumbstruck as his Life Point meter plunged to 0. His fists shaking in rage, he hurled the Locator Cards at Kyriss, who caught them deftly in his non duel-disk hand. "You coward! That was a child's duel. Not that it matters. Soon you'l all be destroyed!" he screamed, before sprinting off the boat. Across from him, Kyriss could see an old man at a card shack. He smiled kindly at him. "You did well." he said. His voice was warm and friendly. Kyriss blushed and grinned. "Yeah. I thought he had me for a second." "He almost did." The old man said with another smile. "I'm Solomon Moto, by the way. Would you like to buy some Duel Monsters cards?" Kyriss smiled, but shook his head. "Not right now, thanks. I really need a drink and a sit down. Now I have 30 Locator Cards I think I can relax until the finals. but I may come and see you soon, if it's no trouble." "It's no trouble at all, young man." Kyriss couldn't help but smile at Solomon again. "My name's Kyriss." he said, grinning from ear to ear. He couldn't wait to tell Ryan.
15. OOC: That's not quite what I meant ^_^; Anyone can put ideas in if they want to- I just meant that Chaos's character could be leading the group he's in (i.e. with Feyd, Neo and Blue-Eyes). But that's not to say no-one else can make their characters do anything. Because they can. Oh, by the way, Digital_Monster's joining in now. I'm writing an intro to her character here. Hopefully a bio will be up in the Recruitment section soon. Apologies D_M if I spelt her name wrong ^_^; ------------------------------------------- Rhydia the Amazon Archer surveyed the damage done to the Earth realm done by the Dark forces. The Temple was almost destroyed, and injured creatures covered the ground. Some were still alive and being treated with herbal remedies and Red Medicine, whereas others who were not so lucky were just hauled sadly away. She cursed herself for being away from the realm when the Dark forces struck. She'd been on scout duty and heard the Horn of Heaven, but was too late to stop any of them. As she approached one an Ancient One of the Deep Forest lying on the floor, she noticed three charred-looking Magnet Warriors marching hurriedly into the forest. Why weren't they helping clear up the damage? Irritated, she ran after them. For a trio of Magnet Warriors they walked very fast. Normally she could outrun them with little difficulty, but it took her quite a time to catch up this time. It must be her annoyance distracting her. Eventually she caught up and grabbed the shoulder of the Gamma and whirled it round to face her. It said nothing, but looked a little perplexed. "Where are you going?" she asked objectively. "Aren't you going to help them clear up?" They shook their heads and looked at each other with expressions of confusion. The Alpha Warrior shrugged and started off into the forest again. "Hey! You haven't answered my question." Rhydia called after them. "Where are you going?" The Beta Warrior took his sword and shoved it into the ground, twirled it a bit and pointed at what was left. It was the symbol of the Light realm. "But... why are you going there?" she asked. "There's still work to be done around here." Alpha drew a creature in the mud and gave her a grave look. She knew what the creature was at once. Exodia. "Exodia's there?" But..." Realising how long it would take for them to try and explain why he was there in symbols, she shook her head and sighed. "Never mind. I'll come with you." The Gamma Magnet Warrior looked at the others with a look of concentration, and the others looked at him back with exactly the same expression. It was strange. Magnet Warriors usually spoke. They looked back to her and nodded in unison, before marching into the forest towards a largh cliff face. On it was a massive stone slab- a doorway to the Underground tunnels. "Are you crazy?" Rhydia almost yelled. "The Dark forces use these tunnels to get from realm to realm! It'll be swarming with guards." The Warriors each gave her the same stern look before pulling open the door. Rhydia sighed pulled an arrow from her quiver. Clicking her fingers, the end lit up in a ball of flame. A Flame Spear. Perfect for lighting dark tunnels. "I guess it'll be quicker. she said quietly. "But you three'd better know where you're going, else we could be in big trouble." She and the three Magnet Warriors quickly ran inside, towards the Labyrinth of tunnels underneath the ground. * * * * * Elsewhere, Chaos, Neo and Feyd continued down the dark network of tunnels. They'd managed to lose the rest of the dark army chasing after them, although Feyd's instincts told him that may not be a good thing, necessarily. As they entered a larger room, they could hear a faint rumbling noise. Slowly walking down what seemed to be a narrow corridor, a Labyrinth Tank slowly followed them inot the darkness...

19. LP: 4000/4000 Kyriss drew his five cards from the Duel Disk system and looked to the man standing opposite him. In his hand were Monster Reborn, Man-Eater Bug, Nimble Momonga, Shield and Sword and Buster Blader. A good start. If he played Nimble Momonga he'd be able to summon the others from his deck when it was destroyed, and then he could summon Buster Blader! Perfect. But it wasn't his turn yet. The man was going first. He drew a card unceremoniously and placed it on the field. "I play Card Destruction, to destroy our hands and allow us to draw five more cards from our hands each. Kyriss almost swore. He had some good cards in there. Not that it mattered particularly. It was only the first move, after all. He looked at his hand. Enchanted Javelin, Whiptail Crow, Magical Labyrinth, Princess of Tsurugi and Neo the Magic Swordsman. Nothing too great there. Strangely, the man ended his turn there. Shrugging, Kyriss drew another card. It was another Nimble Momonga. "I play Neo the Magic Swordsman in attack mode and..." he paused for a moment. His opponent had nothing on the field. Nothing at all. What was he playing at? "...I attack your Life Points directly," he said cautiously. Neo shot forwards and attacked the man, ridding him of 1700 LP. He was at 2300 now. "Is that it?" the man asked. He had a strange voice, which had a vaguely sinister quality to it. Kyriss shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Yeah, yeah. That's it." Calmly, the man drew another card from his deck and looked at it sternly. His eyes were a steely grey, and his face gaunt. His clothes were strange. He wore a black cloak which swayed behind him eerily. "I set one card face down and then play Ookazi to rid you of 800 insignificatn Life Points." His tone had changed now. His voice once calm, it was now a sharp, vicious snap. Kyriss watched his LP dip down to 3200. Not much of a loss. Still, he had to keep going. He placed one monster card (his Whiptail Crow) on the field face-down and looked at neo. "Attack his face down monster." he ordered, now a little unnerved. The Magician of Faith appeared and the man casually pulled a card from his Graveyard and placed it in his hand. Kyriss was more than a little worried, now. A sly grin spread across his opponent's face as he prepared his next move. LP: 2300/3200
20. "Wolf Blade!" The sword slashed through the tree with sickening ease and it crashed to the ground noisily, disturbing flocks of digital birds. "Fantastic," the creature murmured, looking at the large sword he held in his hands, its blade gleaming in the light. he ran his gauntletted claws along the blade. He had serious style. "This is much better than being human." He thought to himself as he strode through the forests of the Digital World. He was practically a superhero. Catching a glimpse of himself in the still waters of a pond next to him, he gazed at his reflection. In this form, he was a large humanoid wolf with black fur and black trenchcoat. Under his coat was a large metal breastplate, and he had silver gauntlets on his claws. Sheathing his sword, he stood up and carried on through the forest. There had to be something nearby to save...
21. Heh, if it's still okay I'm interested in signing up. Although I know very little about things .hack\\ like. And the RPG's getting pretty long... Category One: Your Online Character Name: Ryou Solore Character Base/Type: Light Warrior Weapon/s: Bladed quaterstaff- picture later. The shaft is intwined with strands of silver, and the blades are strengthened with diamond, for an idea. Appearance: He looks much like Marth, but isn't quite- (he has no tiara for a start), but saves me having to draw him out. He's just for the general idea- I'm not too sure how to describe some of what he's wearing, so it's better for you to see. His breastplate is a light blue with cobalt edging, and the spirally designs on it are also etched in this colour. Just below his neck on the breastplate is a diamond-shaped blue crystal. He wears metal gauntlets, with cobalt eagles and wolves etched upon them, along with deep blue jewels in their centre. He also wears lower leg armour in this style (with a triangular 'dip' for the knee to fit in, also jewelled), and has black boots, trousers and shirt. Around his neck is a pendant- a sword with a moonstone hilt and wolves' heads surrounding the hilt. As for him, his eyes are deep dark blue and his hair a light-blue (a la Rei from Eva) Sex: Male Category Two: Your Real Life Character Name: Lance Jackson Age: 18 Occupation: First year of Drama School Location: Currently in London, but came from South England. Biography: Born in July 1985, Lance has led a fairly quiet life and hasn't had many huge problems, despite being an escapist and always wanting to live in a fantasy world. Because of this, he hasn't had very many close friends and is perfectly happy being on his own in his own world. He doesn't tend to like computers that much, and it took him a long time to warm to the idea of The World before eventually buying the software, despite loving the look and idea of it. He is currently studying at a Drama School in London, where he loves stage-fighting and is part of a local fencing club. Personality: Generally calm, quiet and amicable. Can be a bit clingy if he finds someone he likes particularly, as it doesn't happen too often. Interests: Acting (and associated stage fighting), singing, fencing, writing, dreaming.
22. Fantastic stuff ^_^ The dialogue's really great. I love Joey's lines. And that bit above about Bakura looking at Rayne was hilarious. I have just one thing to say about it: when you present dialogue, you don't always have to state exactly how it was said, like:
How will we know where to look?" YaBakura said, asking the obvious question.
The readers'll know it's an obvious question already, so it doesn't need to be stated unless you want to emphasise that it was an obvious question. It's ofte more interesting for the audience to make their own intepretation to the speech, or it may already be clear how they act by what they actually say. Not to actually have no appending description to a piece of speech, but to have it less obvious. Also, in here:
Yami nodded in agreement at Rayne?s observation.
That last little bit's slightly redundant, as we know who Yami's agreeing with. It also makes things flow more easily if it were shortened. It's only a minor gripe, and the story's still very very good ^_^ I loves it. More please!
23. I've not seen very many episodes of Eva, but I know it's one of my favourite series. In terms of destructive power, I think Bardiel has to be one of the best. It was virtually impenetrable and almost destroyed Tokyo-3. Didn't he actually decapitate Eva 02? Leliel was the only one which truely scared me, because of the way it destroyed things and was only three nanometers thick. It's frightning if you think of the concept of that happening (*is a wuss*), and the music being played when Shinji was dragged in was very dramatic, too. Another one I liked was Sadalphon (I think. I've no idea what the names of the Angels are- I missed 'The Birth of NERV'!) -the one which almost killed Asuka inside the volcano. Magmadiver ws the very second episode I saw. I'm not too sure why I like it- I just do, heh. Not too sure about the Angel itself, but the episode with Armisael in was one I liked a lot, in which
Rei sacrifices herself to save Shinji
I wish I could see the Director's Cut of that >_< I guess my all time favourite would have to be Tabris, in the form of Kaworu, for the same reasons that Solid stated. He was the only one with a personality, and that personality was so haunting it's hard not to like him, really. Because he didn't quite understand human emotions he could be so open and calm, and he formed a special relationship with Shinji because of that.
24. Things like Labyrinth Wall I keep face-down, but meh. That's true, though. Effect cards are the ones mostly laid face-down, but you never know. But what gets me is thet BB's effect is a flip effect anyway. So by the time you've laid down BB, the other player could have flipped their Effect monster and that would render BB not very helpful. So... I don't know. I guess it could be useful if you're up against someone with a lot of Man-Eater Bugs, Hane-Hanes or whatever, but it just doesn't appeal to me very much.
25. I like Nobleman of Crossout, but it does annoy me that you have to remove any others of the same monster you have in your deck from play. It's not so bad near the end and you've used them already, but if it's near the beginning it can put you at a disadvantage. Shadow of Eyes is a very good one. If your opponent has a Man-eater Bug down there and you attack it, you can do a heck of a lot of damage. As someone did to me not so long ago ^_^; Bombardment Beetle and the Stern Mystic don't do very much, so i don;t use them. After all, if it isn't an effect monster that's face-down, Bombardment Beetle does nothing and just sits on your field with very little attack or defence power. At least the Stern Mystic has a half-decent Level 4 ATK.
