OOC: I want to move this along a bit now, so I may seem a little controlling, which I apologise for. If anything needs changing, let me know and I'll edit it. ----------------------------------------- Blue-Eyes lunged at Tyrant. The two dragons rolled over each other and slammed into the throne, disoldging sme of the stone from the ceiling. As the molten stone started crumbling around them, Tyrant grabbed Blue-Eyes' neck with his massive claws in a vice-like grip. Gasping for breath, Blue Eyes felt a surge of energy building up in his throat. A massive blast of Lightning erupoted from his mouth and thundered into the Fire dragon. The rock below them disintegrated and the two spiralled downwards towards the lava's surface. As the two dragons fought, Valkyrion noticed the throne change slightly. Where some of the stone once was, a bright white crystal shone brightly in the light of the magma below. The second Exodia slab. Suddenly Tyrant and Blue-Eyes resurfaced, both slashing at each other madly with their claws. Tyrant's mouth exploded with flame, and sent a torrent of fire hurtling towards Blue-Eyes. He ducked out of the way and the blast hit the cieling, showering the warriors with debris. A large piece of the ceiling had hit Blue-Eyes in the head. Shaking himself groggily, he saw the Tyrant Dragon looming above him. "Hah!" Tyrant scoffed, breathing heavily. Blue-Eyes' attack had almost killed him. A lesser dragon* would have been destroyed. "The mighty Blue-Eyes is beaten? I thought you would be more of a challenge." Blue-Eyes growled. He wasn't going to be beaten. The fate of Gaia depended on it. He hauled himself to his feet and reared his head back for one final attack. Tyrant didn't have time to move. Blue-Eyes' attack illuminated the entire cavern and blew a massive hole in the wall behind them. Tyrant was lying on the floor, immobilized. "You... you win, Blue-Eyes." he pulled himself up and shakily bowed his head as a mark of respect to him. Blue-Eyes smiled and looked back at the others. Valkyrion ran towards the slab and slammed his sword into the rock. Chaos ran next to him and started chipping away at the pumice around the other side, and it fell heavily onto the platform. Obediently, Feyd ran over to it and geared himself up to Multiply. Valkyrion stopped him. "We have to get this to Nico. He's in the tunnel we came in from." Suddenly, a vicious laugh filled the chamber. The masked Beast stood at the tunnel's entrance, two Thousand-Eye Restricts holding the Earth realm's Exodia slab. "I'm afraid your friend has betrayed you." The Masked Beast hissed. From behind him, A Battle Steer emerged, his once bright eyes now a deep grey. Neo felt numb. How could Nico do that? Blue-Eyes looked to the hole in the wall. He could fit through it easily. Secretly grabbing hold of the Exodia slab behind Chaos, Neo and Valkyrion, he slowly started moving backwards. The Masked Beast pointed his staff forwards. "Death Mist!" he screamed. A jet-black stream of energy shot from his staff and thundered forwards. Valkyrion and Chaos took up defensive positions and the jet slammed into their Mirror Force. The shield wouldn't hold them for long, though. The Thousand-Eye Restricts moved slowly forwards, pulsating eerily. Blue-Eyes crawled through the hole and beckoned to the others. Neo and Feyd followed him though, but Chaos and Valkyrion were still holding back the Dark forces inside the temple. "Chaos, get the others back to the Light temple!" he yelled above the noise of the bombardment hitting their Mirror Force. "You're joking!" Chaos yelled back. "I'm not leaving you." A huge lump of rock shattered on the invisible barrier. "Chaos, if you don't leave you'll be destroyed! Why have all of us die? You need to protect the Exodia slab and the rest of the realms. GO!" Reluctantly, Chaos jumped through the hole and onto Blue-Eyes' back. The dragon leapt into the air and flew towards the Light realm. Back in the cave, Valkyrion smiled. "Thank you, Chaos..." Standing up, he let his Mirror Force die away. Suddenly, he started to glow a bright white. His body started to vibrate with a huge energy. The Masked Beast turned back to his troops in a panic. "Retreat! Get the Exodia slab out of here!" But he was too late. Valkyrion's body exploded in a colossal ball of white light, decimating the temple. All that was left were the two Exodia-slab carrying Thousand-Eye Restricts and a Black Skull Dragon. From the sky, the others heard the massive explosion. In the distance, high above the clouds, they could see the Light Realm's massive Guardian Temple... ------------------------------------------- *OOC: Hah, have to love the pun there... Anyway, Valkyrion will be coming back soon. Sorry if this isn't what people were planning- I wanted to get everyone into the same place. I've also changed the previous mentionings of DN to The Masked Beast, by the way.
Originally posted by Oradriel Out of curiosity, is there any specific country fencing came from? And is fencing realistic? Like if the sabres you guys use for fencing is replaced with real sabres, will it actually be effective in killing? Kenjutsu can be both effective in killing or not depending on the style you take(some style encourages you to hit and then keep cutting through while other styles encourage just lightly tapping)
I'm not too sure where fencing originated from, but I do know that they were using rapiers (which the fencing foils were modelled from) by the time of the English Civil War, sort of 1640's, I think. In terms of realism, the fencing foils aren't as strong or wide as the ones they used to use- most of the ones that looked almost exactly like the modern foils were too flimsy to stand up to too much punishment and were usually worn as a symbol of status by officers or whatever. But the fighting style is realistic, yeah. But it depends how good you are with the swords.

Melody's still with Faith, in the Light realm.
Originally posted by cloricus Oradriel I believe that fencing has four (or three) basic moves, it is more a game of wits and skill. You are only allowed to use these few movements, your opponent is also only allowed to use these movements the winner is the person to get a strike on the opponent or drive them behind a line on their side. (Push them back off the stage?) I've always wanted to have a go at it and I might join some day soon, don't know
Almost, heh. There are four very basic moves and then more advanced ones as you progress, but there's no limit to the number of moves you can do. Except in foil and epee- no slashing. Sabre fencing's the only one you can slash in. But apat form that you can do anything so long as your body doesn;t touch the other person or so long as you don't turn your back on the opponent. The aim is to hit someone with the sword (foil, sabre or epee) so that the point would 'have the property of penetration', i.e. it would pierce them if the end of it were sharp. You can get points against you if you're forced off the edge of the piste, but you're not supposed to do that really. It's quite rude.

That's the Starfox team. I was asking about the StarWolf team, heh. There are... The Redeye, the Thorntails, the Earthwalkers, the HighTop, the Cloudrunners and Scales' lot. And the Mammoths, but I can't remember their tribe name >_< I think that's it.
-
She was pushed/trapped inside the crystal by Andross to lure Fox into bringing the Krazoa Spirits together so he could be reborn *evil laugh*. Name all four of the Starwolf team from Starfox 64, including their surnames.

Ah. I had a feeling it might be, but I forgot to check. My bad.

Introduction threads aren't allowed on OB, but as you're new you weren't to know that. Welcome to the boards, mistiyoko. As Domon said, be sure to read the Rules and have fun.
Originally posted by Circéus ooc: Really? I didn't see it... or do you mean you wanted to ut DN in? *is a bit lost*
Nah, she was leading the forces that attacked the Earth Temple. But it's no biggie. I'll change it to The Masked Beast instead ^_^ I think your idea sounds better, as she is very integral to what happens to Exodia. Okay, and this is where I get annoying and pull rank: Nexus... just a word about 'godmodding'- you can't have your character just appear and save everything. Not least because another person may have something planned but also because it spoils the fun of things. Giant Germ's effect is that when sent to the Graveyard, more Giant Germs can be summoned. So, in the RPG it could multiply when destroyed. Meh. Also, I don't mean to be rude or overly critical, but the posts are quite hard to read in continuous prose. Paragraphs/speech marks make things a lot easier to follow. I'm not too sure what Darncoolguy's planning at the moment, but he does have my permission. Don't make the Dark Forces come in too the chamber too early. Unfortunately it does mean I don't have control over my character for a little while, so there's not much else I can do...
Originally posted by Domon And Swordstalker isn't all that great. I mean its waht a level 7 and and attack of 2200? That's 2 monsters down the drain for that thing. Try and get a Fiend Megacyber, its effect is rather awesome and plus equip it with a Lightning Blade and bam its attack goes up to 3000. Very useful I must say.
Swordstalker's only a Level 6 monster, and he has 2000 ATK. At least, that's what the one in the Kaiba Starter Deck tells me. So it's not too bad. But you could have a Gemini Elf or something similar for no tributes and only have to use a field card to power it up. Lightning Blade can only be equipped to Warriors- The Fiend Megacyber's a Fiend sub-type. but still. Malevolent Nuzzler works just as well. Or Horn of the Unicorn's better if you can get it, as that raises the defence by 700 as well, and can be applied to any type of monster.

The first 30 days are free, apparrently, then it's about £4.99 a month subscription. A Broadband adapter's about £30, for the UK at least. I'm very interested in the game, although not so much for the online capabilities. Lord knows I spend far too much time on the internet anyway- I'd virtually disappear if I got this online too. Apparrently online gaming is very rewarding, through the interaction with real people and beating bosses alongside them.

Well, I've had DN in it for quite a while, but it doesn't matter that much ^_^ She could still be trapped within the Shadow realm with a lot of the other Dark creatures, if needs be.
-
Des's answer was the one I was looking for ^_^ Heh, although I disn't know about all those Zelda characters :bluesweat. I can never seen the pictures properly. But you missed only one. Not that it matters that much- he's not that great a character. T'was Pichu.

It's also useful to have cards such as Dark Hole and Raigeki, as these can help in tight spots. Not to mention defensive traps such as Trap Hole and Mirror Force.

Kitty: Olympic Beach Volleyball, here I come!

Kyriss shuffled his deck and shoved it into the Duel Disk system. He was going to construct two decks now- an Earth one and a Dark one. But for the moment, he was happy with what he had. 20 cards. As he opened the door to his room, he heard two people talking as they went past. "...and I'm, like, 30 locator cards? No way, man!" "Heh, these guys are serious duellists..." Kyriss almost collapsed. He needed 10 more. And the final was almost here. Slamming the door behind him, he ran up to the top deck to find a challenger. As he frantically looked around, it looked as if he was the only one duelling. Suddenly, someone caught his eye. He was leaning against the wall, calmly having a drink. Kyriss sidled up to him and coughed. "You wanna duel?" the guy croaked. He looked fairly old, maybe in his mid to late-twenties. Kyriss nodded. "Okay, squirt. We'll wager 10 locator cards. You ready fer my deck? It's gonna hit you hard." Kyriss grinned. "I doubt that."

That's true. I can dream, though. Presumably the tracks will have themes such as Luigi's Mansion and various levels from SMS. One of my favourite levels was Rainbow Road- I hope that'll get another reincarnation, along with various others from the previous games (Bowser's Castle, Yoshi's Island or whatever it was).

Gaming Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike (screens again)
Solo Tremaine replied to Semjaza's topic in Noosphere
Fantastic! Starfox: Armada will have a lot to live up to, methinks. Especially with a two-player co-op mode. They'd better still have the Imperial Shuttles in, though. -
Eeeh, there are more than that ^_^; There are people in the background of the cutscenes, too. At least four. I can't remember the time difference exactly, but it's over 100 years. The Oblansk Dam level takes place in 1980-something, and the Space Station level takes place... much much later. I know Neo-Tokyo is 2055, so it'd have to be later than that.

Nice ^_^ Is there/will there be more? I like the idea, although there's just one little thing niggling at me:
Behing the box he knocked over was yet another box, except it was gold and about the size of a small shoe box. It had weird designs on it like the symbol of an eye on the front. Yugi stared at the box for a while, (Staring Contest! Guess who wins ) then picked it up.
Lots of 'box'. Although there isn't much of an alternative word in these cases. Maybe something other than a shoe box to compare its size to? And then Yugi could stare at 'it' for a while. Another thing to consider could be description. What does the box/room/Grandpa look like or feel like (musty or clean or whatever)? Just little things like that can add a lot to a story's atmosphere. It's still very good, though ^_^

Eh, okies. Name all of the Nintendo characters seen in the opening to Super Smash Bros Melee (not including the zillions of Pokemon).

No, but if you want the effect to last then you have to pay 2000 LP. It's up to you whether you do, but Domon was saying that should you choose to, it's a large cost. And using it only for one turn won't do you that much good. I would say Mirror Force is a better trap too. And cool it, pk88- there's no need to be rude. These are only suggestions. You put your deck in here so people can rate it and that's what they're doing. If all you want to do is argue about their suggestions then don't bother. Unless you have a specifically good reason for keeping it in there then it's justified, but so far all I've seen is verging on petty bickering.

Valkyrion moved to the tunnel they'd entered from that led to the surface, but the Tyrant Dragon's tail whipped in front of him and blocked his path. "You're staying in here. I don't trust you enough to let you wander around my realm." Chaos almost leapt for the Tyrant Dragon's throat. "How dare you! Do you not recognise the legendary heroes who fought for Exodia all those centuries ago?" The Tyrant Dragon reared up. "Legendary heroes or not, this is my realm and you are under my command here." Neo's fist clenched around his sword in frustration. "This is mad. The Dark forces will be at your gates any minute now! If we delay any longer we'll all be destroyed and they'll gain two Exodia pieces." The Tyrant Dragon growled furiously. "Blue Eyes has accepted the challenge, and I never back away." The others stepped back as the two dragons took their places opposite each other. * * * * * The Masked Beast clenched his fists at the thought of the creatures escaping with the Exodia slab. He had been so close... A noise from behind startled him and he stood up straight. He could feel his presence in the room. "Master?" A foul hiss pierced his ears. "You failed." He tensed himself. "They used a Dimension Hole to escape. I couldn't stop them. They have reawakened Valkyrion and the Black Luster Soldier." His master sighed. "We will retrieve Exodia. And if we fail, you will have an eternity to regret your mistakes..." The voice faded into the darkness, and The Masked Beast felt a cold sweat running down his forehead. * * * * * Slowly, the army of Thoursand Eye Restricts hovered over the desert plains. They were making good time. Soon they would reach the temple...

I'm really excited about this game. I loved Mario Kart 64 and the original for the SNES. Although I hope all of the tracks/cups whetever won't be available form the start, a la MK64. That took a lot of the fun out of it. Another thing that would be nice to see would be computer playersin multiplayer races. Just having two in a battle mode got rather boring rather quickly. Four was okay, but any less than that wasn't really enough. Secret characters, weapons, tracks would be great too. Especially if one of the characters was Link on Epona or something like that. Or Fox. Fox would be very nice.
