1. It was chaos. Bird and machine digimon thundered through the air doing battle against each other. Powerful attacks crashed into the mountainside, which was slowly starting to fall apart under the strain. Ryouka ducked underneath a missile which zoomed past his head and slammed into the cliffs behind him, sending large lumps of debris flying everywhere. He jabbed a button on his digivice. "Go! Digivolve!" he yelled, holding it in the air. The yellow light exploded from the screen again and each Rookie level shone brightly as their Champion forms manifested themselves. Several digimon were shot mid-digivolution and dissolved into glittering sparks of data which floated up to the sky. Ryouka grimaced painfully at the sight of more losses, but he wasn't going to back down. A small formation of Mekanorimon circled the valley and landed inside the walls, whirring ominously. Powering up their Twin Beams, they fired at the main battle front in unison. Five laser beams shrieked through the air and hit a Pteramon and Graymon, who burst into data squares. Chase leapt down from her attacking position and started ploughing her claws into the mechanical digimon, aided by a few Ankylomon. "You stand a better chance of winning now." a slightly sinister voice echoed form behind him. Ryouka turned to see Puppetmon standing in front of him. "Haku has been exiled."
2. It's my ambition to become an actor eventually. With any luck at the end of my gap year I'll be going to LAMDA (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) to do a four-week Shakespeare course. As for plays I've been in, I've not had that many as such- we'd mostly do sketches on stage, and nothing major outside school productions yet. Stupid Egyptian play (I can't remember it's proper name), in 1996 or so. I played the sun god Ra. I got a wear a cool eagle mask for that one ^_^ Cinderella 1998. My shame. I was the Fairy Godmother. In a pink dress, a falsetto voice and a massive BGC vaccination plaster on my arm -__-; At least I've not been typecast... Various Drama sketches, in which I've had an arguement with someone, been a doctor, a soldier in the trenches in WWI, Aladdin, a bouncer and some guy in a cinema. In the News Today (at least I think that was what it was called) in 1990-somethingmorethan6, written by Willy Russel, in which I played a madman called Ron who invaded a radio station. The Beano Show, in which I played Gnasher ^_^ I loved that part, because I got to run around the stage on all fours in a dog costume saying 'Gnash Gnash'. Lovely. Batman (a spoof, no less), in which I was Batman/Bruce Wayne/Adam West. That was great- I enjoyed it thoroughly. Outside school at the moment we're filming a Naked-Gun style remake of Return of the Jedi, which I'm enjoying thoroughly. Although I've not been in anything professional yet, I hope to be soon. Like that'll happen...
3. Ryouka scowled at the fleet of machine digimon approaching them at great speed. All around him the Reptile and Bird digimon stood anxiously awaiting his command. He stood tall, looking braver than he felt. He wondered whether this was a mistake. Puppetmon appeared beside him. "It's not too late to change your mind. Lives will be lost either way, but which would be the most successful way out?" Ryouka kept staring straight ahead. "We..." he paused. Chase was standing by his side, looking apprehensive. "We can't just give up everything that we've worked for here. It's our home. I won't let them take it." "He will take the world if we do not do something. He will keep attacking again and again until there are no more of you left to defend. By saving this small piece of land you put the rest of the Digital World at greater risk. Don't you see that?" Puppetmon said quietly but firmly. The boy whirled round, hi hair appearing ablaze in the rosy dawn. "And do you think we won't lose anything by retreating? The Digi-Mage will think us weak and he will never be deterred from his manic rage. If we don't fight we risk losing an even more important battle." "Your digimon will die." "I won't leave this place!" Ryouka shouted. Chase shied back slightly in worry. Puppetmon said nothing, but quietly nodded. "As you wish." A missile thundered past a row of Agumon and into the cliff behind them...
4. Can we keep replies to the topic, please? I like the idea of the Yu-Gi-Oh movie, although I think it's only half an hour long, like the original Japanese Digimon ones. I hope it has those characters in it too. With any luck it'll be about Bakura ^_^
5. Altron has a point, but I think it's not necessarily the moves you make but the way you play, in that case. For example, do you always tell people what the effect of your card is or do you let them see for themselves? Or do you try and avoid telling them something essential because it would tip the odds against you? It's little things like that that may seem trivial but can mean a lot to the person duelling you. Although I don't agree that a duel isn't honourable. True, it is based mostly on luck, but there's still an honourable feel about it. After all, they aren't just any old cards you're drawing, these are ones you have collected and chosen as part of your deck. It's a hard thing to define, and the more I write the less convinced I am, but I still think they hold a sense of honour. Maybe not the tactics and moves especially- after all, you are trying to outmanouvre and overpower your opponent at every move. 'Duels' originally were throught ot be honourable ways of settling arguements, although that does seem a little dated now...
6. Heh, I enjoy the game a lot, and as satisfying as winning can be, it's still nice to be honourable when duelling. It's like fencing- you always have to be polite, courteous and cheap tricks aren't looked upon that highly. Although that's not to say any quick-play magic cards are cheap and dishonourable, though. Some quick, devastating moves are considered lucky, but aren't dishonourable necassarily. I think relying too much on one card isn't too honourable, let alone a good strategy. I try and balance my deck as much as possible, but you need to have the most powerful cards possible, really, because the aim of the game is still to win. You can have all level 4 monsters with over 2000 ATK (hypothetically), but that doesn't necessarily make you dishonourable.
7. I think it's about time they refreshed the characters a bit. Although maybe they could have given Ash a rest too, maybe. He's hardly changed greatly since episode 1, and that was a very looong time ago. At least his hat's changed, though. I hardly call it major character development, though :bluesweat New Pokemon are always good, though, especially dog ones ^_^ I've not heard anything about this season, but I look forward to it.
8. Yes- a movie is and has been scripted, they're just waiting for the green light from the studio/BBC according to a recent interview with... Grant Naylor on IGN, I think. Series Nine is a possibility after that, when they know whether the film's going ahead or not. I love Red Dwarf. I've watched it since about series V and I loved every second of it. I've gone back and watch it time and time again but it still makes me laugh. The characters are great, the stories are funny and the dialogue's very funny and cutting. Although I thought the last two series were a little lacklustre, for some reason. They were still good, though.
9.
Originally posted by blackgatomon 4) All I can tell about the magic card is it has a blob on it. That's all I know...
Agh, I've seen that card before! I just can't remember the name >_< It has a light purple background, and I'm pretty sure it has a guy holding up a sceptre/staff to the centre of the card. He looks like a king.
10. No, I don't think I know all and/or see all. In fact, I've admitted that there are things I don't know several times. My job here is to enforce the Rules, which I would suggest you read before posting again. If you have a problem with me, take it up with my via PM- don't clutter the threads up with spam. Anyway, as per the topic: I'd love to be in a tournament, but it's unlikely we'd ever get one in the UK this side of the millennium, so I guess I have to make do with duelling Nexus.
11. No, he wasn't. He said he doubted it, because a lot of the cards you have in your deck are Japanese cards, and as such aren't allowed in official tournaments. You could have had friendly tournaments with your friends and won, but you didn't specify. Although it does seem unlikely that 35-year olds play Yu-Gi-Oh. You never know, though.
12. Yami wouldn't work there anyway- that only powers up Spellcasters and Fiends. I guess you meant Mountain... As for your non-made up cards, Kaizer_Boy, why would UpperDeck create such an unbeatable card as this Whirlpool Bird, which no-one has ever heard of and is supposed to have 9000 ATK? It would be pointless- there'd be no strategy to winning, you'd just play it and that would be it. And Raigeki is a magic card which destroys all of the monsters on your opponent's field. It's a very wel-known card, and a staple for any tournament-standard decks. And don't double-post please. Use the 'Edit' button below your post. As to Hyper: Whoops :bluesweat I guess I'd better start looking at the God Cards more carefully.
13. OOC: Takuya... I'm not sure you can just know exactly what things are, where they are and what they do. It seems too god-mod ish. Take time to continue the plot- we don't have to get straight to a conclusion. ------------------------------------------- Ryouka surveyed the damage at the top of the North Gate. It wasn't too bad inside. The odd building or two had been partly demolished, but it wasn't too serious. Everyone had left now. He was alone. Kensuke had disappeared, along with Datsu and Furora, and Kima too. He sighed and sat down on the cold hard ground. The best thing to do now would be to take stock of who survived, rebuild the fortifications and start preparing a major defence force. He rested his head in his hands. This was getting to be too much. He jerked slightly as he felt something on his shoulder. He looked round. Chase smiled at him brightly. "Are you ready?" Ryouka nodded. "Yeah."
14. Besides, in Japan 'Obelisk the Tormentor' is called 'God of Osiris'. Don't create false cards, Kaizer_Boy. One I always like playing is with the Dark Magician, Sword of Dark Destruction, Witch's Apprentice and Yami, and Waboku to protect your WA for one turn. It raises the Dark Magician's ATK to 3600, which is pretty nice ^_^
15. Let's not turn this into a massive arguement. The cards are so angled that it's hard to be able to tell properly what they are. If it matters that much you can e-mail UpperDeck and see if they know. This was something I was thinking about the other day. I wondered at first whether the Ritual monster was the Magician of Black Chaos, but I couldn't see properly. The foils can be quite bad for clarity as the colour's constantly changing slightly. I wondered whether the monster was Ryu-Kishin Powered, but it didn't quite fit. I've no idea what the magic/trap could be. I think your suggestions are better than mine.
16. I love your narrative style, Lady K ^_^. It reads very well. The dialogue's accurate too, which is good to see. I can't wait to read the next bit.
17. Unfortunately, I am going to have to close it. As I have said before, Yu-Gi-Oh out-takes go in here. Please don't open a thread like this again.
18. Don't be rude Altron. Anyone can make up a card. Even if the idea seems a bit far-fetched, they are only made up. It's not like UD would make a card of it or anything. But, having said that, I would urge people to try and post realistic sounding cards in here, as that makes it more interesting.
19. OOC: I hope this is okay. Sorry I'm so late ^_^; ------------------------------------------ Baihumon roared impressively as the Tyrannomon started to back away. "Time for some FUN!" The four red lizard digimon scampered off into the forest in a flash, terrified. The large Sovereign grinned triumphantly. "Where to now, David?" [2.31]
20. It is flattering in a way, yes, but it's still rather disrespectful to take it without asking; or it can at least be taken that way. It's just common courtesy to ask if you see something that interests you, especially with something like banners which are all highly personalised already.
21. Exodia pieces aren't tournament illegal- they're just restricted to one of each piece per deck and side-deck. I've never had much interest in getting Exodia. I much prefer the other cards, and all the other player needs is Card Destruction while you're collecting pieces and that's it. Game gone.
22. Having done an extensive search on the internet I can't find any such card anywhere apart from in this thread. If you are going to make things up (and please don't), try and make them a little more believeable. Topic closed.
23. Well, as annoying as it might be, it can often be resolved by PMing them, as Sara suggested. If it's something that means a lot to you I'm sure they'll understand. Although really, avatars should be taken from the list of ones available in the User Control panel. Or, if you want to use one that someone else has, the thing to do is to ask them first. And if they say no, then ask someone for one in the Banner/Avatar request forum.
24. Sabre eyed Bebbieroth suspiciously with his single good eye. Bebbieroth pulled back the seat, creating a loud scraping noise on the floor which reverberated around the entire room and made Sabre's ears twitch erratically. Once the tall, silvery-haired boy had sat down, the teacher turned to the blackboard and wrote 'ENGINEERING' on it in big white letters. Sabre sighed irritatedly as a student dumped a thick textbook on their desk, then waited for another for Bebbieroth. Nothing happened. He gave the student a slight look of disgust. Only one between two? Bebbieroth didn't look to happy about sharing either. The student shrugged and walked off. There was a tense silence, broken only by the squeak of the chalk as it got to the second 'E'. "Page 31, please." the teacher mumbled. Sabre looked at Bebbieroth. Bebbieroth looked at Sabre. Slowly, they both reached for the book.
25. Ryouka felt the area where Furora had sprayed the liquid. "Don't touch it." she said firmly. "You'll aggrovate it." Ryouka smiled sightly. "Yes, ma'am." he muttered. It was strange. Maybe being around other humans wasn't so bad. She'd been the first one in ages who'd tried to do something for him. He adjusted his hair and turned back to face her, catching her eye. Chase watched the two of them exchange looks for a few seconds, trying to get a fix on their thoughts. It didn't work, though. Ryouka stood up and took a few steps forward. "Thanks, Furora." he said over his shoulder, before walking down the valley.
