1. Aidian gave Jedah an icy glare as he walked Nepenthe past him, wearing a seemingly expressionless face. Aidian could feel his smug air about him as he silently showed her into her bedroom. Aidian's eyes narrowed, a swell of hatred and jealousy burning in his stomach. Tempted to take his sword to the throat of the Makai-dweller, he defied his feelings and turned away, albeit very slowly. His cheek still tingled from the kiss she'd lain on it. As he stroked his fingers across the side of his face, trails of ice appeared on his skin, glimmering in the candlelit hallway. Storming back to his room, he slammed the door in anger, turning it to pure ice and sending a harsh wind throughout the entire building. Taking the sword form the scabbard on his belt, he drew the point across the trails of ice, blood freezing instantly on his skin. Jealousy of love was a dangerous thing. Another relic of his past he wanted to leave behind. Throwing the sword to the floor, he crouched down inot the corner of the room and fell asleep, troubled thoughts playing into his dreams.
2. The thought of sleeping in an Inn that night was too tempting for Aidian to turn down. He'd not eaten in a week, and had hardly slept for twice that long. He could feel himself getting weaker. Nepenthe suddenly gave him a quizzical look. She could sense his feelings. Straightening himself, he coughed and adjusted his armour, trying to convince her that he was as strong as he tried to perceive. It didn't work, and she shook her head, smiling. Slowly, they approached the door of the inn, each wary of what lay inside. Aidian had always feared the power of the dark, and being around two creatures of demon-like stature didn't help calm his nerves. His grip tightened on his staff, the silvery-blue gauntlets he was wearing glinting in the half-light. Looking up at the moon, he took a deep breath, the cool air soothing his thoughts. The door to the inn was made of a rotting wood, barely staying on its hinges. Nepenthe forced her way to the front of the group and barged it open. Those sitting at the tables and bars immediately stopped what they were doing and stared at them intently. Quietly, the group wandered in, each getting stranger looks than the last. When Jedah finally walked inside, everyone felt a cold shiver run down their spines. The whole room seemed to squirm in unison, before sinking back down into their routine. The noise began to pick up again, thankfully, and Nepenthe and Ambika walked over to the bar. "We need some rooms." Nepenthe said firmly, resting her stare upon the inkeeper. The inkeeper was a stocky man who walked with a limp. Waddling over to the bar, he gave her a dismissive look, before looking to the rest of them. "All of you?" he grunted. "Two rooms. One for us," she said, indicating Ambika and herself, "and one for them," she continued, gesturing back to Jedah, Aidian and Michael. They looked fairly objectional at first, but realised that a room each would not only be costly, but dangerous as well. Separation at such a time would not be a goos strategic move. The inkeeper gave her a questioning glance before holding out his hand expectantly. Ambika gave him a cold glare. "We'll pay in the morning." she growled, ending their conversation. The inkeeper muttered something obscene under his breath and wandered back to the drinks behind the bar. Aidian looked around him. He hated being in debt to people. He had no money himself, so provisions for him were a no-go. Mildly disappointed, he wandered back outside. "Just need some fresh air. This place is stifling." he muttered to Jedah, who raised his eyebrows inquisitively. Ignoring him, Aidian stepped through the door and launched himself onto the roof to sit in the moonlight. Nepenthe's words kept appearing in his mind. "I know exactly where I'm going. And I relish it". He had no idea where he was going. At times, he thought that maybe it would have been better to have been arrested. At least then, he'd have a chance to explain himself. And his life would have a purpose. Now, he was only drifting. Lying back against the slope of the roof, he looked up at the moon. His armour seemed to glow in its light, as did the blades of his staff. Deep down, he missed Altea, the only place where he had truely been in peace, but he knew that he could never go back. Back inside the inn, a dark-hooded person sat silently in the corner of the large dining room, holding an empty cup between two old, gnarled hands. The hood turned to watch the group of strangers who had entered the inn, and almost inaudibly, began to laugh to itself.
3.
Originally posted by Alexus Bing Lara Croft looks good, because she has big hooters.
I can't understand why people get so excited about Lara Croft. Nothing personal, I just really don't like her that much. Well, her first incarnation was pretty bad in my opinion (those things are just too big), and I've just... never liked her. She has a nasty face, too. It always looks rather spiteful to me. Krystal's much prettier, I think, along with Fox too. The animation in Starfox Adventures is amazing. Not to mention I like animals ^_^; Raiden was someone who struck me as being good-looking, too, if only for his long white hair *wants it*. Er... I've not played far enough into the game to see him with no clothes on, though...
4. I keep thinking I look lke lots of people (Hugh Jackman, Michael Beihn), and I do look a bit like them, but not as much as I'd like to. More like a younger version of a cross of two people who look a bit like them. Strangely enough, one of my friend's mums said I looked like Shrek. I wan't too sure how to take that. And I must admit, there is a resemblance. Hmm...
5. OOC: Bye, Neffie. Sory you had to leave. -------------------------- Aidian eyed Ambika carefully, holding his bladed staff in a defensive position in front of him. The remaining guards had fled, luckily. Although he began to wonder whether it would be safer taking his chances with them or staying with these sinister warriors who seemed not to care about taking lives at all. His gaze shifted to the skeleton on the floor. Its eyeless sockets faced the open sky, never to see again. This was an unearthly way to die. He quickly looked around for any more guards and then moved over to Nepenthe. "We should go." he said sternly, giving her a cold stare. Jedah stood impatiently waiting for them to move, rattled by Nepenthe's outburst. Slowly, Ambika pulled herself to her feet and wiped the blood from her face. "Follow me," she growled, kicking the skeleton in spite.
6. Aidian glanced round cautiously at the guards flanking the city gates. They were watching them intently already, with Jedah having sent one of them to sleep. Some were tempted to call for reinforcements, others tempted to start attacking them there and then. Others, were too scared to do anything. Were they the demons attacking everyone? They could tell the guard wasn't dead, but they didn't want to tangle with anything that powerful. As Aidian and Ambika entered the gates, Jedah close behind, the white-haired warrior turned to her. "Are you going to explain to me exactly what we're doing here now, seeing as I've been annexed into your group?" he hissed, not too pleased with having been roped into something against his will. Ambika gave him a warning glance. "There will be time for explanations later. We've gathered too much attention already without us discussing demons out in the open." Aidian rolled his eyes. It looked like the dock was going to have to wait for the moment. He looked over his shoulder to where Nepenthe and another warrior were standing. As he did, he cought the eye of an older guard, thin and wisened with age. As the two's eyes met, something clicked. A great swell of fear rose up inside Aidian. he'd been recognised. The guard leapt forwards, sword outdrawn, yelling at the top of his voice. "Arrest them!" he screamed. Suddenly, all of the guards leapt into action. Nepenthe and Michael ran to get through the gates, but a massive portcullis slammed down in front of them, barricading their way. Aidian whirled his staff through the air and clouted two guards on the back of the head, knocking them off balance. They slammed onto the floor, where he gave them a swift blow to the back of their heads, knocking them unconscious. Jedah weilded his scythe with sickening ease, deflecting the blows of the swords as if they were nothing. Ambika growled at three guards trying to corner her, frustrated at the setback. As she drew her weapons, something stopped her. A voice in the back of her head she tried hard to repress. The three leapt upon her, yelling madly. Watching more guards pour into the street and at bladepoint themselves, Nepenthe and Michael began to try and burst their way through the gates.
7. I have to admit, I like T.K a lot more than I do Davis (despite the fact that Daisuke is a cool name), but I'm really interested to see where this story's going. It's very exciting!
8. OOC: Sorry if this seems a little rushed. I was excited ^_^; as well as having not much time. ------------------------------------------------ The Lylat System is under a new threat. Strange readings detected on the system's sun, Solar, indicates that it is growing, and this will endanger the lives of every life in the system. On top of this, reports have shown that strange ships have begun arriving in the far reaches of the galaxy. They appear to be similar to an ancient race which once lived in the Lylat System- large, dragon-like creatures known as the Kareck. Their intentions are unknown. It is thought that some have already reached Venom and could be using Andross' old weapons manufacturing plants to create new weapons of mass destruction... -------------------------------- In a dark room deep inside the Cornarian Army headquarters, there was a tense atmosphere. Twelve army officials from the planets in the Lylat System all sat uncomfortably at a long, black table, all waiting for the speaker to address the situation. General Pepper clutched at his cane nervously. Clearing his throat, he continued the briefing. "As we have seen, Solar's alarming rate of activity seems to high to be dismissed as a peak in fission activity-" The Army official from Macbeth, an old ferret, leapt up impatiently. "We have seen these sorts of changes in the past. Why have we been called here?" he hissed. The commander sat next to him pulled him back into a sitting position to allow Pepper to continue. "I understand your haste, General Sneta, but I am getting to the point, I assure you." he said coolly. "The activity we have been recording is not unlike that we last saw nine years ago when Andross' biological weapons were inhabiting the surface. he surface of Solar appears to be expanding." The generals looked to each other worriedly. "How long will it be before it becomes an emergency situation?" one asked gravely. "Fortuna is already experiencing a rapid climate change. In less than two weeks, the ice on its surface may have melted, and the entire planet would be flooded." He turned round and faced a large map of the system stuck hurriedly to the wall. Macbeth, Zoness, Aquas will be the next planets in immediate danger of extreme climatic change, but already Cornaria and Katina are experiencing problems." "And you say this activity matches that of Andross?" Pepper cleared his throat again. "It is possible, which is why we need to conduct an investigation into it immediately. If his forces have been re-activated then we could face another war." The generals sat in silence, gravely thinking about the implications of this. Suddenly, the door burst open and a red-faced young cat creature sprinted in, carrying a crumpled sheet of paper. He panted up to General Pepper, gave a weak salute and then thrust the sheet into his hands. "Priority One, Sir." Pepper's jaw dropped in horror as he read the report. The others watched on in apprehension. "Area Six has been reactivated." He croaked in shock. "Sixteen patrolling craft have been destroyed, and all communication with ground troops based on Venom's surface have been lost." Angry, confused and frightened shouts filled the room as the generals conversed with one another about defending against such an attack. The armistice signed five years ago had meant the demobilization of a huge amount of vehicles. And hundreds of Andross' weapons factories had not yet been discovered. Venom, Andross' former base, was still largely uninhabitable to most creatures, and it was unknown how many munitions factories were still active. If his war machines had been secretly amassed over the last few years, they may not be able to withstand him again. A sudden gunshot silenced them. Pepper lowered his pistol and replaced it into his holster. "We don't know whether this is Andross or not. Let's not jump to conclusions." A second sheet of paper unfolded from the back of the first. On it was printed what looked like a nonsense transmission caused by interference, but there was something about it he recognised. Ignoring it for the moment, he turned back to the rest of the group. "Generals, I propose an emergency conscription of pilots on all planets. Anyone who can fly needs to be incorporated into our forces. A mass debriefing of the enlisted pilots will be held at the Central Arena in Cornaria City. I will call Starfox again and have them meet us there." Quickly, they all strode out of the room to begin preparing for the attack... ------------------------------------------------- Sabre Keslain awoke with a start. Shaking his head groggily, he lay on his bed, dark thoughts flowing through his mind. He hated his team. He was sure they'd try and betray him at the drop of a flight helmet. Rubbing his eyes, he tried to remember what had happened the previous night. Something wasn't right about that drink. Lucily he'd had the sense to spill the rest before he finished it. He grabed his electronic eyepatch from the table and clipped it into place over his left eye. A small HUD buzzed into view. Grunting in satistaction, he flopped back onto the bed. Around him was a bleak room; uncomfortable even in comparison to the prison rooms he'd been used to for years. Rolling onto his side, he noticed a strange vapour emenating from the ventilation grate. Puzzled he wandered over to it and flicked on the light. Immediately, the stench of smoke and burning filled his nostrils. The base was on fire. Coughing and growling madly, he slammed the 'door open' button. A red light flashed defiantly in his face. It had been jammed. Cursing, he grabbed his plasma rifle from under his bed and aimed it at the edge of the door. Punching the rifle discharge power to 'Maximum', he pulled the trigger. A burst of purple energy exploded form the barrel and blew the door from its hinges. Wrenching his sword from the wall, he leapt through the flames and sprinted to the vehicle bay. The fire hadn't spread that far, but his Wolfen I ship had been badly damaged. Mutiny. They'd tried to kill him. Shaking with rage, he slammed his sword into a floor panel next to his ship. Ripping the panel from the floor, a small red lever was revealed. Slamming it down, he ran over to the other side of the bay. A section of the floor opened up and another ship rose from the bay. Luckily, they'd never known about his secret modifications to the base. Leaping into his ship, he slammed the rifle into the right control base of the cockpit. The barrel slid fully into place, leaving the trigger and handle poking out, forming the right joystick. Grabbing hold of the other, he slammed on the boosters and took off, leaving the base to burn behind him on the barren Macbeth mountainside. When he caught up with them, he was going to kill them all. Perhaps he'd best let them know, just to taunt them with their incompetence. As he flicked on the communications panel, Genaral Pepper's face appeared before him. "...and emergency transmission from the Cornarian Army. All fighter pilots with combat experience must report to the Arena in Cornaria City. Further explanation will follow. It is imperative that you attend- we need you for the defence of the system! This is an emergency transmission from the..." "Interesting." Sabre growled. Maybe revenge against his own team could wait. This could be a great opportunity to seek vengeance on a much better target. For when the Ary was in trouble, Starfox was always nearby. Pulling his ship out of Macbeth's atmosphere, he prepared to warp to Cornaria...

11. OOC: I hope this is okay. Heh, I got a little lost ^_^; -------------------------------------------------------- Aidian eyed the others carefully. Who were these people? They seemed to have an understanding of powers similar to his, which brought him to think that it would be beneficial to stay with them. On the other hand, Nepenthe had looked straight into his mind. He wasn't sure whether to trust them. The large Makai gave him a wary look, and Aidian gave a quick nod and a smile back, if nothing else to appease the demon-like creature and make sure he thought Aidian was on the right side of him. Jedah didn't look too impressed. Slowly, each watching the others' every step, they walked towards the city through the forest the stretched out in front of them. As they continued, Ambika grew ahead of the group, alone in her thoughts and distracted by anger. Aidian had grown used to being alone, but not when others were around. Clenching his fist around the long staff in his hand, he began to wonder whether the ulterior motives of this 'group' would lead to trouble. The last thing he wanted was to be blackmailed into committing another crime. As they reached the gates to the city, Aidian grew more and more tense, giving sideways glares to each of the three he was accompanying as they walked past rows of guards. Suddenly, a burly man in murky gold armour thrust a spear towards Ambika's face. "Halt!" he grunted. "Who goes there?" Nepenthe gave a wry smile as she watched Ambika's shoulders tense with anger and Aidian tense with apprehension. Jedah simply stood behind them, quietly amused by their current situation. He didn't need to do any of this, technically. But it would be interesting to see how the story unfolded.
12. I really am going to close this thread now. Not least because people are still going off topic, but because you can also discuss how you play here: Your style of Playing. May I remind you that you can reply to a thread providing it has something to do with the original question, and not the way it seems to be pointing, unless it's a discussion relevant to it. Posting an off-topic reply to an off-topic discussion only makes things worse. Don't do it, please. And basically, G.D.Ryoko, I think your friend is just taking advantage of the fact that you don't know very much about the Battle City rules. It is complicated and confusing at times, what with card's own special effects and whatnot, but you should be able to attack after you tribute, as I remember, seeing as that's what UpperDeck says- it's considered a Normal Summon. I realise that they aren't exactly UD rules, but they're closer to them than the Duellist Kingdom ones. I could be wrong.
13. *hugs Sara* No, I wouldn't mind at all. ^_^ It's undergoing a few revisions, though, so this probably isn't the latest version. I will sendificate it as soon as possiblificatorily so ;).
14. Unfortunately, we can't have people trading over OB. There's just no way we can guarantee that the cards will arrive safely. Not that I'm insinuating that some members are untrustworthy, but revealing addresses and such is really too much information, especially to people you don't know very well, if at all. It's a breach of confidentiality, of sorts, and it's quite a high risk thing to do. Sorry, Toon_world. There should be places nearby where you can buy/trade new cards. If needs be you could put an ad in the local paper, the classifieds or something like that. Or just ask around to see if anyone you know collects the cards.
15. ^_^ I'm glad you like it. This bit in the story's fairly slow, and it's taking a while to write, too. So bear with me (and the plot), things are about to get even more interesting soon.
16. Whoa! This is an old digi-story. I did write the rest, but was in the middle of re-vamping it when I came up with the idea for Dark Conflict. I still have all of this one, I think, and you're welcome to read it if you want (I probably won't put it up here, but you can e-mail me if you like- it's about 54 pages long, though), but DC's the one I'm really working on. You're welcome to read whichever you like. But thanks for the feedback! ^_^
17. Aidan looked to Labramon and sighed. "Well, where's the next one?" Labramon shivered slightly. "We have to hurry. We might not make it otherwise." Shakily, Labramon pointed over to the East. "MetalArmadillomon, I think we should biomerge. We'll be able to cover ground more quickly." Aidan said hurriedly as they beng running across the plateau. The steely digimon nodded and prepared himself. Mena looked to Apsaramon, who nodded. "Biomerge activate!" "Evolution activate!" A bright light enveloped the two children and MetalArmadillomon as their digivolutions took place. When the light died down, Razegallantmon and Rakshemon were standing on the ground, ready for action. Swiftly, they moved in the direction of the next crystal.

19. The guard on top of the sentry tower yawned loudly. He hadn't wanted to sign up for this. Standing inept at the top of a large pillar of rock, watching for 'demons'. He spat in disgust. Demons. What drivel. Anyone with any sense knew those boys had been playing too close to the waterfall and just fell off. Those deep gouges were just... scratches from branches. Yes, that should do. Branches. He didn't believe in demons. After all, if it wasn't real, how could it hurt you? As he lazily scanned the trees for signs of movement, he was aware of a cold chill shuddering down his spine. Everything around him suddenly began to get darker. Curious and slightly afraid, he turned around... Aidian heard the terrified scream and sprinted off in the direction from which it came, spinning his staff through the air. He knew he said he didn't want to get caught up in the politics, but this was different. This scream was of pure terror. He'd never heard anything like it before. As he reached the tower, he saw red liquid dripping slowly down from the top, oozing down lazily like a crimson snake. Gearing himself up for a grizzly sight, he spread wide his arms and leapt up. A burst of wind carried him high up to the top, and he landed safely on the battlements. A horrifying sight met his eyes. He'd never seen someone so badly mutilated. The body looked to be partly burned around massive gouge marks, and bones and organs had been split in two, protruding form the blackened skin. The man's eyes had turned a dark grey, dead terror forever freezing his face in a contorted scream. As he started to take in the horror of the situation, he noticed a dark shape disappear into the forest below. He considered following it, but three people emerging from the forest path distracted his attention. Two female warriors and a male in clothing he'd never seen before stared up at him. This didn't look good for him...
20. Technically, Maha Valio can be, but you have to equip it first. As it stands on its own, there are lots of spellcasters that are more powerful than it. It's stats are 1550 ATK / 1400 DEF, and most equip cards only boost for a few hundred points (maybe three, four or five), so you're looking at a maximum of about 2550 ATK once MV's been powered up. That is 50 ATK stronger than the Dark Magician, but you could just as easily use that Equip card on him to get an even stronger card. Your avatar is way too big, Hiei. 80x80 pixels is the limit. Please change it.
21. Labramon squirmed in Mena's arms. "Ecch. My fur's getting itchy. I think we're getting close to one." Aidan looked up ahead. There didn't look to be anything much around, except a rather grey rocky plateau in front of them. "It's out there?" Apsaramon asked. Labramon nodded. MetalArmadillomon flexed his claws. "Well, if it's underground, I can dig for it. No problems about that." Aidan looked apprehensive. "Yeah, but be careful. We can be seen for miles around here. We don't want to be caught, else we'll attract the attention of every digimon on the continent." Mena looked down to Labramon, who was quivering slightly. "Can't you give us a more exact location?" Labramon shook his head, looking disappointed. "It's just an itchy feeling I get." Apsaramon readied her claws. "We'll just have to dig, then. Let's get to it."
22. Aidian felt the air against his face. Something didn't seem right. The currents were disturbed, suggesting unrest. Something ominous. Pulling his staff tighter to his back, he slid down the bank to walk alongside the river. He placed his hand underneath the river's rushing surface and felt another breeze gently caress his face. If his suspicions were correct, they were stil after him, and he'd have to cover his tracks. "Dammit," he hissed. He didn't want to use his trained abilities unless he had to. He'd be sure to attract some attention. But walking was too slow. Sighing in frustration, he started running along the riverbank, heading downstream. Once he reached the sea and found a boat, he could be free. Keeping a hold of his staff and sword, he sped along the grass at an almost unnatural speed, a strong current of wind propelling him forwards. Up ahead, he could sense a change in air current. There was a large waterfall nearby. Feeling slightly relieved, he quickened his pace. He skidded to a halt when his boots hit rock. Down below him lay the second half of the forest, basking in the sunlight. Up ahead, he could just make out the shapes of the tall stone buildings of the city. That was where he needed to go. Some way ahead, by the river, he could see a group of people carrying shovels, marching back towards civilisation in a single file. He recognised the formation. "A burial." he murmured. "I'd best not linger. I wouldn't want to get caught up in the politics of this." Savouring his high poition for a moment longer, his armour glowing magnificently in the sun and feeling the wind against his body, he spread wide his arms and leapt from the edge of the rock, spiralling downwards towards the ground below. As he neared the hard rock, he opened his eyes. The silver streaks shone a bright white for a brief second, and a huge rush of air swept up him from below. Gently, he touched down on the floor. Not wanting to wait a moment longer, he swiftly disappeared into the trees.
23. Sounds interesting! ^_^ I'd like to read more. You have a good sense of the characters there, and I like the description. Is very nice, Shaun. Although I must admit, I'm more of a Takari fan myself :p... It's still very nicely written, and I'd definately like to read more. Nice work!
24. OOC: I agree, your intro was fine ^_^ And so's the name. Although, Nefertimon, Raiha may want to write her own intro for Nepenthe. ----------------------------------------------- A cool breeze blew through the trees in the forest. Lying underneath a tree on the side of a clear bank, a tall, white-haired man listened to the ruslting of the leaves. It was a calming noise, one he'd grown to like since leaving his home in the mountains. As he looked up to the sky, he noticed a hint of grey in the sky overhead. "Just my luck." he grunted to himself. "It's going to rain before I reach the nearest settlement." Stretching out, he placed his hands behind his head. It was a rather uncomfprtable position to be in while wearing shoulder armour, but he didn't mind that much. Next to him lay a silvery-white staff with two large blades at each end, and a sack in which he carried provisions. He hadn't had anything to carry in it for a week now. He missed food. Sitting up, he looked down at the river below. He'd better move soon. the river would be sure to take him to civilisation. Picking up his staff, he slipped it into a holster belt slung over his shouder. Quickly, he made his way parallel to the river, along the top of the bank, his light blue armour glinting in the sun...
25. I've merged this thread with the 'Signature Card/Decks thread started by genkai, because like he said, 'signature cards are those you like and are known to play', which is what this thread is about. Check carefully when you start new topics to make sure they don't already fit into existing thread. It can be hard sometimes, but I don't want the forum getting too cluttered.
