1. Thanks for siging up, df! Um... would it be okay to have a little info on how they got here- Beast Machines is after Beast Wars, so we'll need to know how Hot Rod got here and why Inferno isn't dead. Just a little thing to keep continuity. On another note: I don't mind how many people sign up, but I think sixteen characters should be the maximum. Providing everyone can keep track it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
2. The title may change if/when this finally goes up. PROVISIONAL STORY (This will most likely change as I come up with better ideas or if anyone else has any suggestions as to what could happen): Several mega-cycles have passed since the dramatic reformatting of Cybertron. Instead of a dark, cold metal lump in orbit around a sun, it has now become a bright, living planet, rich with new bio-mechanical life. It now has several oceans, forests, and a large metallic desert, along with its gigantic cities teaming with Transformer life. The Transformers of the current era, having rid themselves of Megatron, now face a new danger- the Predacon Alliance. With the rebirth of thousands of Cybertronians, were hundreds of Predacon warriors. Despising the Maximals ways, they swore bloody revenge on them, and they are now at the brink of a bitter new war, with many civilian lives at risk. Both sides struggling to gain access to a hidden chamber deep within Cypertron's core that could hold the key to victory, the planet's existence hangs in the balance... Okay, now that the story's over and done with (and if anyone thinks of a better one, I'm more than happy to go with that instead- I'm not too sure what they're supposed to be looking for here), here are the rules: 1. You can be any character from any Transformers toy or TV series (including the original series, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, RiD, Armada and The Four Warriors from the Sky if you really wanted) except Unicron, Fortress Maximus, Megatron (RiD and Armada okay) , Optimus (RiD and Armada okay) and Galvatron (TF only- the Robots in Disguise one is okay). This includes any special edition characters you know, including the 2001 BotCon Arcee and Tigertron, Shokaract, Cyclonus and I can't remember any others. You can be an Optimus, but there can be only one- you can choose from Optimus Prime from RiD and Armada, Big Convoy, Primal Prime and Rodimus Prime. If you want, you can also be a human or a Quintesson, or Primacon (Unicron's creator- one only). But, bear in mind they're all in different timestreams, so you'll have to think of a good reason why your character's back in this era. For example, if you wanted to be Starscream from the original TF or Silverbolt from BW, you'll need a plausible back-story to explain their reappearance or reverting to a different form. Or at least something that vaguely makes sense. I?ve not seen most of the original series, so you could get away with a lot here. Don't worry about plot-holes too much. Also, since there are lots of different Prowls, Scavengers etc, things could get confusing, so if someone is one of those already and you want to be a different form, you'll have to think of a new name. Fictional Transformers are okay too. You can gender-bend too, but within reason. Main characters featured in the series can?t be changed, so Cheetor can?t be a girl. 2. The allegiances are those in the series: Predacon, Decepticon, Vehicon, Destron and Quintesson are all bad; Autobot, Maximal and Cybertoron are all good. Humans and Primacon can be either good or bad. 3. You can be more than one character if you want, but we'll need a balance (i.e one good/one bad), and no more than two per player. 4. We'll need side leaders, too. I?ll let you be them- one Prime/Convoy and one nasty big villain, who could be Magmatron, Tripredacus, Galvatron (RiD) or Megatron (Armada). There could even be contest for leadership, but don't let it take over the game. I'll decide on a leader for the Predacon group once people have signed up. Note: Once someone decides on being a Prime/Convoy, they are automatically the leader of the Maximals. 5. To sign up, you'll need to give these details: Name: Allegiance: Function: (e.g. scientist, warrior, aerial/ground/sea reconnaissance, commander, strategist, Prime, demolitions/explosives expert, megalomaniac etc) Physical Appearance: (Just a brief description of the character so we can remember what he/she looks like) Bio: If there's anything I've forgotten, let me know. --------------- Name: Noble Allegiance: Neutral/Both Function: Warrior Physical Appearance: A winged (going by the figure) bipedal wolf with dark blue fur. Bio: Resurrected by the Predacon scientist Cryotek to try and infiltrate the Maximal headquaters, Noble couldn't go against Nightscream's friendship and has stayed there since. His Spark, damaged during the fusion with Megatron during the Beast Machines era, is rebuilding itself, along with his intelligence. He still has problems controlling his rage and has been known to destroy parts of the base through his attacks, creating major setbacks for any Maximal activity. Name: Cryotek Allegiance: Predacon Function: Unknown Physical Appearance: Large blue dragon, made in the image of TMII Megatron. Bio: (Bear in mind I've never managed to get my hands on a Wreckers comic) Evil, twisted and very powerful. Very important element to the Predacon forces. Generally answers to no-one but himself, he enjoys torturing Maximal victims. Enjoy! I hope the rules aren't too confusing.
3. A few minutes later, Tyrius looked back at Rhike and slowed his horse. When he caught up, he grabbed the pangolin's tail and swung him up behind him. "Thanks." Rhike said quietly, his black scales baking him in the sun. "I wouldn't be that cruel. Have a drink." Tyrius handed him a full sack of water hung from the horse's saddle. Rhike took a grateful swig and handed it back. "So why's this place called the 'deadly forest', then? It doesn't seem like a nice place." "It isn't." Artemis said simply. "Lord Rochin's forces inhabit that area, but we need to find the purple stone." "You actually believe that guy? It's probably just some wild goose chase to get you into his master's reach." Tyrius scoffed, adjusting his hair. "Wild goose chase or not, we can't afford to miss the chance. And besides, what could he gain by lying? He was almost dead anyway." "You'd be surprised how much some people are prepared to do for loyalty..." Tyrius said quietly.
4. "Wait, what do you mean, you were a tig-" Tyrius looked down to Rhike, who smiled knowingly. "Right. You're some kind of weird shape-changing hawk, then." Coeus sighed and nodded. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to tag along for a little while, just to keep you out of trouble." he sighed, still looking at Rhike, who was very close to hitting him with his tail. "I'll just get my horse." Tyrius ran off back down the side alley to where the Shire horse was drinking patiently. He untied it, leapt into the saddle and rode down to where Artemis and Coeus were waiting. Rhike looked at him expectantly. "What?" Rhike coughed and gestured to the horse. He wasn't tall enough to get up. "Oh, yeah. I told him I'd take it." Tyrius smiled slyly, whipping the reins. As the horses slowly started trotting back out of the outskirts, Rhike started to wonder whether he'd made a mistake...
5. I think it might be a modified version of 'arcane', meaning mysterious. I don't think it's that bad, personally. Pandora's not exactly my favourite name...
6. Sorry, SS5, distributing links to download episodes and things like that is against the rules on OB, seeing as it's an illegal practice anyway. Thread closed. -Solo
7. I started fencing about seven years ago, under the tuition of the famous Brian Pittman (whom you've probably never heard of). His classes weren't the best at first, a little boring to tell you the truth, but he would always try his best to make them interesting. He was always friendly and nice and smiley, even if he was a little frustrated (he had to take a two-hour journey to get to us). Anyway, at around Easter this year (at least, I think it was easter), he was away for a week. We thought it was a cold, but then he was away for the next three weeks too. He must have been in his late 60's, I think. But anyway, the news came on the fourth week that he'd passed away. It was cancer. It came as a shock, needless to say. I'd never been that close to him, but he was just always someone who was there. When they go, you start to think about wh's going next and who'll be there for you in the end. A few weeks later, I had the strangest dream. This sounds horrendously corny, but it is true. I was in my garden and he suddenly appeared behind me, in his funny cream jumper and blue tracksuit bottoms, saying hello and everything. He was sort of transparent. Anyway, he told me that I'd be okay and that I shouldn't worry about things. He said I could do anything I put my mind to. It was very strange, and I've never believed in ghosts before. It was probably just my mind playing silly games, but it made me feel better about things. I miss him, from time to time, when we're fencing and warming up. I wish I'd had the chance to have gotten to know him better. But there isn't much I can do about it now. He's at peace, and that's all anyone could ask for, really.
8. (When Bart becomes Mr. Burns' heir- he runs away and Homer tries to get him back) Homer: What are you going to do, huh? Release the hounds? Or the bees? or the hounds with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you? (Burns, Smithers and Bart go inside) Homer: He locked the door! Well, we'll see about that! (Rings the doorbell and runs away) --------------- (When Lisa and Bart work at the old folk's home and take everyone on a boat trip. A massive boat crashes through the hull of their ship) (To captain)Lisa: How could you miss that ship? Captain: Arr. Two glass eyes. --------------- Bart: (Groans painfully) My ovaries!
9. Having searched for a little bit on Google, I found some QuickTime videos and screenshots from it. It looks pretty good, but the sound's strange. It's got music from the series (all synthesised) and bits of cell animation in FMVs and in game too- Misato, Ritsuko and various others pop up and talk/shout at you wheile you're getting beaten up. I don't know if they're the original voices (it was all in Japanese anyway). They even had AT Feilds. It looked like quite good fun. It's a pity it wasn't released in the US. Even if you did have an N64 that would play Japanese games, I'm guessing it'd be near impossible to get it anyway.
10. Thanks, Deus. That should work nicely... I forgot something- Ryou Bakura's hair. I could do with some of that. My hair's far too short right now. I've nothing against it, but when I went to have it cut, I decided that it was too long to do anything with. Now it's been cut, it's too short to do anything with and I'm not sure I can be bothered. If I had Bakura's then I woulnd't need to touch it ever again... except to wash it, of course. I can dream.
11. Ideally, these are things I would like: 1. Gojulas GIGA Zoids model kit. 2. Konig Wolf Zoids model kit. 3. About a zillion anime soundtracks, including Lost Universe, Eva III and Nadesico. 4. Anime DVDs of the above and Mononoke (again). 5. More shirts. 6. A Yu-Gi-Oh deck. 7. The Magician of Black Chaos (Not the card, the actual magician, so I can nick his stuff) 8. Ryo Akiyama (He's so cool!) 8. Money, goes without saying, really 9. Something to stop my younger sister from growing up so fast. 10. For my friends to be happy. This is the most important one.
12. I think Deus has the best advice there- don't worry about it. If you're conscious of it, you descend into a vicious cylce of sorts, getting more and more paranoid about not being able to get to sleep, and then not sleeping as a cause of that. What can help is tensing all of your muscles up, holding them for a few seconds and then letting go. Do that a few times to get your muscles tired. Doing a bit of exercise (say, sit-ups or running up and down stairs a few times) not only relaxes your body, but starts to disengage your mind from conscious thought, enabling you to get to sleep quicker. Another thing to do is eat before you go to bed. I can never sleep on a empty stomach, and you wake up feeling bad too. Hope this helps.
13. Dammit- that's the stuff I really needed to know about. Never mind. I'll scout around and see if I know anyone with a copy of it on tape. You know, a long time ago, I think an Evangelion game was made for the N64. Does anyone remember playing it?
14. Reboot! I loved Reboot. But I really wish they'd release the two TV Movies on DVD. I haven't seen then yet *Pouts angrily*. Still, at least I got to see the end of Season Three, which CITV ruthlessly cut from its afternoon lineup. It's a strange programme, though, because even though it's onwed by AD Vision, it's not scrictly speaking Anime. It's computer animated. It's still good, though. I'd liked 'non-anime' animation for a long time before that, though. Like... Dangermouse and Duckula. That, I guess, paved the way for me seeing Laputa. Remember the Moomins? I hated that with a passion.
15. I'm split between 'Cruel Angel's Thesis' (Eva) and 'Wild Flowers', 'Chase' and 'Song for...' (all from the Japanese series of Zoids). They're my favourite themes. But I have a special nostalgia for 'Target' and 'Butter-fly'- Digimon Adventure 02 and 01 themes respectively. Basically, I like any ones with electric guitars and good orchestration, with as much or as little synth as necessary. Personally, I'm not too keen on the Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star themes because they're quite different to what I'm used to, and I just don't find them that good. Lost Universe and Generator Gawl have good themes, too.
16. We already have a Rate My Deck! thread, which this seems to be an extension of. This could have been posted there instead of having a new one created. Seeing as Hyper's posted a link back to that thread anyway, I'm going to close this one. Any more reviews and questions about decks should go there, please.

18. I've merged these two threads (If you could have/make any Millennium Item), seeing as they're popular. I was close to deleting them, but I'll give them another chance providing it doesn't degenerate into spam.- Solo
19. Well, seeing as this question was answered a long time ago and it seems to be generating spam, I'm going to close it. You can talk about Pegasus here . -Solo
20. I hold very little stead by any prophecies. I don't even read horoscopes, because they're often so vague they can be applied to any single thing. Wasn't it Nostradamus who predicted that the world would end on the 9th September 1999? And there have been several doomsday prophecies apart from that, all of which have been wrong so far. In the papers a few months ago they printed one supposedly relating to the destruction of the WTC, but again it was very vague, and more than likely referring to two completely different towers- it was written several thousand years ago, when they would have had no idea of the sort of structures we'd make. So I'd say they're lucky guesses or, as with the case of most of them, just plain inaccurate ones.

22. We put up the same fake tree we've had for about ten years up. Or at least, I will be this afternoon. It sounds kind of shabby, but my mum's allergic to pine, and this one's lasted well. It looks nice, but I expect we'll have to get a new one soon- it sheds more fake needles each year. Plus, trying to get a real pine tree would be far more hassle that it's worth, unless we go and chop down the neighbour's. We put lots of decorations on it, which is fun. Well, I put the decorations up and then my sister takes them all off, says it's wrong and puts them on in a different way. :twitch: But it's all good fun. My dad bought a really tacky angel to put on top, but it tragically wandered into the bin...
23. They aren't any more, but they were pretty popular in around the eighties/early nineties. Heh. They went on about them in the Full Monty. That was a good film. I like having an unusual name. I've never personally met anyone with the same name, but I know of some (e.g. Hugo Weaving, Victor Hugo). I find it useful because if someone's shouting 'Hugo' I know it's me, not someone else. But if they don't say 'You go' very well, I get confused. I often think people say my name when they actually don't. But the other day, I thought some random woman was shouting my name, but it was a two year-old boy she was talking too. That scared me, but my friend thought it was funny when I whirled round to see who it was. But, having an unusual name does mean you stick out- if people decide to make fun of you, it's easier for them to do because you have an unusual name that sticks in their head. You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard 'Hugo's there?' or something like that. Ha. Ha.
24. I've been a fencer for seven years, and I can honestly say that was nowhere near Olympic standard, what they were doing. Not that you'd expect it from actors with a few weeks training. And those broadswords were too light. They woulnd't have been able to move them that quickly if they were real. If it was a replica, it'd break. But meh, it was fun. I never thought I'd see swords in Bond. It has the worst theme I've ever heard, though. David Arnold didn't like it. She isn't meant for Bond themes.
25. For a moment, everyone stood still, shocked. No-one quite knew what to do. Suddenly, everyone started speaking at once, except Kairi, who was staring vacantly over to the cabin. MetalArmadillomon nodded to Kitamon, who picked up a large stick. MetalArmadillomon standing on his hind legs, she drew back the stick and slammed it into his shell. The resounding gong made everyone fall silent. MetalArmadillomon looked firmly at Aidan, as if to say 'Do something helpful'. He looked to Kairi, who hadn't moved. "Kairi, are you okay? What does she mean by 'you're pure evil'? Kairi?" "She hates me..." Kairi whispered. "She hates me because I wasn't strong enough to control her when she was Silleniioiakmon. I wasn't strong enough to lift her curse. We have five days before everything ends..." "Five days before what?" John asked. "Gotaro. A sacrifice will be made to him to allow him to rise up and take control to the worlds." "Why didn't you tell us you could Spirit-Evolve?" Rokas asked. "It's a curse. When I do, Gotaro's pyramid will reappear." "There has to be some way around this. What if we don't go to Gotaro's pyramid for over five days?" Chris scratched his head. "It's everywhere. You can't hide from it." Kairi sounded strangely distant. "What about AncientArugorumon? Can he help?" Chris[2] asked. "We have to try something." Kaci said objectively.
