Has anyone else read any works by this author? SHe's one of my favorites already.. Evn though I've only read Kitchen and Moonlight Shadow. She already inspired me to go back into prose. She's very popular, so I think other's have read her books here. Anyone?

I think it's that it started out already well managed, with the forums staked out and members with good posting quality, which means it was quite easy to find on google etc. when searching for things. I remember a few months ago I started a thread about how you found OtakuBoards( which I think was reborn as another thread), and it was either (a) you found the forums through a search engine or (b) you found theOtaku through a search and went to the forums from there.

Whee! I love this show, and I'm sorry that I only caught it about halfway through the series. I think it's ending soon.... Anyway, does anyone else watch this show? It's really funny.. It's about these guys (Adam and Joe, who have some other series too) who go to Tokyo to "make it big"..... Which they don't... Mostly the show is them talking about Japanese pop culture ( i.e. making fun of it) and doing random thiongs, but sometimes they have cool guests, like the voice of Ultraman and the directior of Battle Royale 2, and they have cool bands. The only way they "make it big" is by dating the Kano sisters.. and you know who they are ;) Anyway, what are your opinions about this show? Also, does anyone know when it ends? Oh, and by the way, it's on BBC1 on monday nights (or Tuesday mornings I guess) at 12:05 , but it orignally aired on BBC3... So yeah, most people in the US (all I think, but you never know) won't be able to catch this.. But there are plenty of OB Brits up in herre....

Suncoast is THE store with anime.... But it is all legitimate, no fansubs... I think that, since more than half of the items in my local suncoast are anime relatied, suncoast will soon become an all anime retailer. I also get mine fro Quakerhead in South Philly... It has fansubs, but of course it is only of series that have not been licensed.

Too young, too young.. Why do you all say that? Love is love is love. It's her right to like him... My grandparents were a couple since they were 10, and that only ended when my Granddad died. I don't think many relationships at this age go on forever, but it's very important to have them.. Learn from your mistakes, and who knows? Maybe he is The One.

Yeah, I almost died when YYH got licensed for the manga, and the adult swim dub was almost as bad as the toonami dub.... I only had a few volumes of the manga read too.... Well, Hikaur No Go I only read some of in Japanese, but I found a translation site that had some random chapters.. So I don't feel l33t because of reading it in Japanese, just because I read it first or something..

Tsutsui and Koga or whatever his name was from Hikaru No Go.. Worst slash pairing ever... Except maybe Harry/Ron, but that's HP, not anime

Yeah... Um, I just want to say that I don't mean "depressed".. I more mean angry.. What do you think ore the eunderlying emotions behind this, besides selfishness? I think it's something about wanting to be elite.... That's why my head kept saying " I am ELITE"... I think that if you belong to a small group of fans of that anime or manga, it's hard to give that up.. Though HNG of course is not exactly a small group, it felt like it cause it wasn't licensed.. What do you think?

Yeah, the thing is-- I know I'm wrong.. I'm really asking if anyone else feels this way sometimes.. I know that it's a good thing that anime is becoming big here.. And I know I'm not elite... It just feels that say sometimes.... This is more to discuss the licensing of anime and why people get depressed over it and stuff.

This is a thread to discuss why people get angry or depressed when their favorite anime or manga is licensed by an american company...... In this instance, I am talking about my very favorite manga of all time, of which I've read all of except for a few chapters... And those few chapters are the main reason I'm feeling (selfishly) angry. This is because I can not get access to these chapters now that it is licensed. "I NEED those chapters" is exactly what's going through my mind.... And I calculated about roughly how lon g it'd take for those chapters to be published.... And I found that I would have to wait roughly 6 years. SIX YEARS. I'D HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I"M 19! There are more reasons why I was being so selfish and not wanting Hikaru No Go licensed... The fact that there will be people who think that they were the first American Hikaru No Go fans because they bought the first wolume when it came out (or read it in Shonen Jump, which is what I think is going to happen to Hikaru No Go), and that pisses me off..... Just the fact that they think they're better than me.... And I know it's the wrong way to think of these things, ..but all I can think of is that I AM ELITE to all of these people. I know I'm not, but that's all that's runniong through my selfish little head.. That I am superior. But now I'll look at the reasons I shouldn't be angry. Hikaru No Go is one of the best manga out there, and millions of people who would not be able to read it are now able to.... MILLIONS is a lot... I think any anime fan would want millins to enjoy it than just themselves. Though it will bring those people that I feel are inferior, it is still a good thing. Another reason is, I can still read it. I just need to buy the japanese graphic novels that contain the 10 0r so chapters that I missed.. And then I can read the translations as I read the book.;. I still have the images and the words, I just have to put them together..... And now that I thinkm of it, I really didn't miss that many chapters compared to those who were reading it exclusively on Toriyama's World... Also, the one reaason that I am not raging about this is that it will bring go to the united states.... This is the bvest thing that's happenede to the American Go Assosciation in years.. That I'm happy for.... Please share your opinons on licensing and whether you should be happy or sad... ---Genkai

I've read a few articles sbout this recently. In the UK, gay people who are married now can pay bills together and other stuff ike that... They, as a married couple, have the same rights as straight married couples, rights they have been denied of for years... For instance, a gay couple who have been together for many years, live together, etc. etc. , didn't have the same rights in some cases, since they were not legally "married"..... So, \if one person in the couple died, the other person might not be left with anything,even the home they shared..... yeah, that whole thing was prety fractured.. Whoops..

Um.. *looks at copy of 5th book* It's definetiely 766pages... Also, I was [spoiler] pro Harry/Cho during the book, but I'm glad it didn't work out...[/spoiler] I don't want Harry and Ginny.. Hmm.. I'm not sure who I want Harry to be with... Harry never really comments on the beauty of girls unless they're girls he can't have..... lol... I , of course, want Harry to have a girl that turns him on.... But he can't Have Hermione, that's Ron's job!

Yeah, um, that's a really nice fanfic idea.. But all of Takahashi's female characters look alilke.. Kagome looks like all the girls in ranma, who all look like the girls in maison ikkoku, etc. etc...

yo i think ghosts exist cuz a ded person came at me with a kninfe and then my hous exploded and i swear it was a ghost i swear ya i swear lolololol..... Just kidding, I wouldn't have that bad posting quality.. But some of the stories I hear are pretty stupid... I don't know.. The on'y "ghostly encounter" I've ever had was the other day I saw a white foot in the doorway, but I didn't really care as long as it wasn't hurting me... It only had 4 toes though 0_o... I didn't care though.. Meh.. I guess it could have been a "ghost" or just something else,. I dunno...

I liuke reading all of these, hahaha. Don't Panic by Coldplay represents me well, but I don't really think I'm quite as depressed. Meh.

I got the one of MTV.com but I bought the album anyway, It was good, not as good as it was hyped to be. I think Radiohead is running out of new ways to be sad and depresses, but the instrumentals are normally goood.

I can't say this bothers me at all. You asked him for your opinion. I guess some people just like to be lied to... I mean.... Maybe he did go a bit overboard with the rubbing in their faces, but he DID have a right to say that, and YOU gave it to him.. So, in theory, you are indirectly responsible for whatever feelings were hurt.. and it wsn't that indirect, if I am not mistaken.
