Yea, wasn't really shooting for anything special with it, just to past the time, you know? I wasn't partial to my name being Kingspike there either, in fact, I wasn't partial of my name being there period, but I felt that it was a bit empty so I threw something in there to take up some room. I ended up messing up on the banner (with the border and whatnot) like halfway through and tried to finish it well, but I didn't really. Bits of it came out blurry and the border is less disireable than I want. Ah well. I'll be back later with more.

I bet none of you ever fathomed you'd see this thread again, yea? :animesmil Well, here it is anyway. Here's the first of a few, I'll edit later whenever I conjour up more of them. And don't forget about the one in my sig at all times. One of the smallest sigs I've done. Just threw it together with a background I'd thrown together a couple days ago. I really like the older drawings of Naruto and Sakura, it gives the characters more depth to them. Adding more later. Comments and Critique are always appreciated.

This is an interesting way to find out about different fonts. If you've seen my work before, you know what my fonts look like already because I rarely change the sets, unless, that is, I'm doing a request. My font choices haven't changed much. Even with the default installed Photoshop Small/Large. :animesmil

Your MATURE opinions on homosexuality
Nomad replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I find that interesting... Can you explain more what you mean by how you think?
lol, that does seem a bit farfetched doesn't it, well there's only one explaination for that, I was tired. What I think I was trying to convey was that you aren't born gay, straight, bi, as you aren't born Christian, Atheist, Jewish, you are simply born a human. From there on it's your pre-developed mindset that leads you to the decisions that you will later make and the paths that you will follow. During a young age, you may not think you're gay, but somewhere deep down you always did feel oddly attracted to other boys/girls in your class, but could never explain it. It's just a matter of preference, however you look at it. I think I'm tryng to say is that, you are not born gay, but rather just eventually develop that way, wether you realize it or not. It's something that affects you even before you have knowledge of the concepts of gay or straight, it's something that you already possess even before you "come out" to yourself, then to others. It's just a matter of preference, as I've already stated, that you develop over time of testing out the waters of what you do and don't like. I really hope that cleared it up a bit, but I confused myself a bit, so I don't think it'll make it any easier to figure out what I'm trying to say, but, heh. Sorry. :animeswea -
Your MATURE opinions on homosexuality
Nomad replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
All right. As my first post back in, oh say five months, it's not really a smart move to come right back in and not read every page of this thread before posting, but it is about 4 in the morning here and I'm too tired to read through the whole thing. I promise you this, however, whenever I get some rest, I will return and read the other pages of this thread thoroughly, and make alterations to this post accordingly if there is a purpose to. Anyways, onto my post. Homosexuality is a concern for me. I don't care for it. I and a heterosexual male, 18 years old, have a girlfriend and love her and being straight. But that doesn't mean that my friend should be hated because his preference is for males. I have known him for 4 years, since about my freshman year in high school, and he came out about half way through the year sophomore year, and no one was 1.) really surprised/shocked and 2.) no one turned their backs on him, because they were true friends. I do not hate him because he's the way he is. I have come to the conclusion, over the last year or so, that whatever I do is cool for me, and whatever someone else does is cool for them. Far be it for me to interfere and disrespect someone for their preference, in any aspect of their lives, I say any aspect because of my next statement. I, myself, am a semi-strong Atheist, and for those of you who do not know what an Atheist is, it is someone who does not believe in any deity (god) of any kind, as opposed to Agnostics who have doubts about deities, and Theists who believe in one or more deities. Now, to trim down my talks about this subject (which I could go on forever about), I will say this. I do not hate you for being Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc. etc. If you believe in god, Christ, whatever, and you want to practice it to yourself and with peers and others who share your views and opinions, more power to you, but when I start to hate you is when you come to me, attacking me whenever I happen to metion that I am an Atheist, and whatever. But I digress, I'm starting to veer off topic. Now that I've stated that, I'm going to go back to why I said that. I am NOT a Christian or anything, so therefore no one, or thing, is telling me that any one person will go to hell, or suffer eternally, for being homosexual, or for not believing or whatever the case may be. This may help my choice to not dislike homosexuality. You are not evil for being like that, you are no different from me, or the next person, or anyone. You are human, and therefore deserve the rights that every human being is born with, and should have been born with for the past hundreds of years (women, African-Americans, Native Americans, etc). Speaking of being born, I do not believe that anyone is born gay, but learned. Not learned as in, "Johnny, at the age of 14, suddenly awoke one day to find himself attracted to the other boys in his grade.", not like that. I'm saying that at a early age, when your brain is developing, it develops in a way that influences how you think, and therefore how you will think in the future, and certain developments can, in a sense, teach you to be attracted to the same sex. This is just my opinion, and a tired one at that, so I'm sure there are flaws in it, and I'm sure not everyone will agree with me on this one, it is how I see it. Now, on to the last topic. Should men/women with a preference for the same sex be allowed to adopt children? Yes, if they are financially able, they should be. If they have the finances to support one another and to support another person in their household, they should be able to adopt. Who's to say that John and Robert wouldn't make good parents, or that Jennifer and Mary wouldn't be able to raise a son/daughter correctly without the influence of a male parent in the household. No one is. A homosexual couple is no different from a heterosexual couple (well, there are OBVIOUS differences, but it is infered that you already know them). There is usually one who has a more female mindset and there is usually one who has a more male mindset, and therefore, represent the balance between mother and father, IMO. I lied, one more paragraph and I'll be done with this for now. Homosexuals can be moral people, they can also be immoral. It is just a matter of how they were raised and how their mindset is. Just like everyone else (including Atheists, they can be moral, and usually are, by following their own code of moral ethics). I also believe that gay marriage should be legalized. It is not wrong or immoral, it is two human beings in love who wish to share the rest of their lives together, who are officially sanctioned and noticed by the government. Granted you don't need to have the "official" marriage, or license, if you wish not to have a marriage then you would rely on one another's trust to be together and with one another for the rest of your lives. Some of you are married, even have children, and are even devouted Christians/etc., and are in love with your significant other. Now just imagine that you were homosexual and in love with your SO who was of the same sex (I know it sounds weird to think about that, but just do it in a mature, "what if" manner). Wouldn't you want to be married with him/her if you love them like you love your current partner? Of course you would. Things would be different in certain aspects, of course, but the love would be the same. I don't see a problem between two people getting married who love each other with their heart and "soul", and who would want to spend their lives with each other. Those are my opinions and thoughts on the topics at hand. Granted I did type alot, but when I get passionate about something I tend to babble and carry on as if there was no end, but worry not, there is an end, and this is it. As I've stated previously, at the moment it is 4:24 AM so I am a bit tired, therefore this post may seem a bit off, but I've promised to return, read the rest of the pages and posts, and to edit accordingly to what I have said. I may have even put something that contradicted it self, multiple times even, but that's the tiredness taking effect. So, I shall return at a later time to make corrections and whatnot, and I apologize for not taking my time and reading through the thread, but my attention and capacity to keep track of what I'm doing is limited. -Nomad :animesmil -
Yea, the first one I did alot in some places and then got lazier as working came to a close. heh. I just thought I'd try something different with the simplistic font and everything. The Cowboy Bebop one was an older one and wasn't of the best of quality, so I did have the perfect images to work with. Dark Light Release Date(s) Banner A banner I made because I was thinking about HIM's new album Dark Light. :animesmil Yea, I decided to try something more of the one/two coloured darker side. heh. I found that green does that nicely. I just got bored and decided to try something I haven't seen. EDIT: Well, that took a while. lol. Kinda got caught up with other things, but no worries, I'm back with another banner for youse. Nomad Blue A light blue and white banner with my name on it. Well, isn't this a cool idea, :animesmil . Anyways, seeing as how I've been here for a little more than three years, and I've been making banners since I got here, I have a good number of banners that I have just lying around. I'm going to put thumbnails of them up because of how many I expect to give. Click on the thumbnail and you'll see the full size banner. GIF (Animated) banners are labeled "GIF Image". Sun: The stock isn't showing an "Angelic" feel to me, kinda like Goddess stated, although, I feel that the stock, colours and font do fit each other in their own ways. Being "Angelic" the lighter colours give the fon the extra glow, building on it's already apparent glow. I don't think that the font fits the image well, I don't know what it is, it just doesn't seem to fit. I think the way you placed the stock (where it doesn't show the faces, or the more defining parts of the faces) is nice. The colours look ok, but something about the left side of the image being brighter than the right is bothering me, but not too much as to unbalance the image in any way. The only thing that seems to unbalance the image would be the "Angelic" text, it seems to be out of place for some reason. Overall, the image is great. It seems more of a background for something rather than having a good visual point to the image, it instead has many points of which you could focus on. That's alright if you're going for that type of thing, but I've found that trying to keep the focal points to one or two areas makes anyone viewing it to view it for a longer amount of time and thus relaying what you're trying to say or display better than it does to have a quick glance and miss important information. Hack: The colours of the background, font and of the stock fit together very well. The different shades of orange and yellow fit well with the skin tone and hair colour of the stock image. This image has one main focal point, with one other visual aid to the main image. I like the background, how the orange is just splashed/splattered onto the background. The boxes, to me, seem like they're leading you to one point on the image. They lead you to where they cut off, but instead of going to either side where there's just a border, the eye seems to follow towards the more interesting part of the image, which is the stock. The text goes well with the image also. It has a comic-like feel to it, which fits with the messy type of background you've created, and the way the stock seems.... fake, or rather rendered (as Retribution mentioned; damn you Retri for noticing [and commenting] on how it conveys a comic book feel before me *shakes fist* :animesmil ). The stock, as stated before, looks to be rendered in some way, which gives it more of a comic/cartoon-ish feel. The font and background compliment the stock very well, the way the colours match the skin tone and hair, and the way the eyes contrast with the rest of the image catches your eye really well. Heh, my vote goes to the Hack. Kinda rambled in my explanations, but you'll get over it, lol. :animesmil
-
Very well done. The colours, font, saying all fit well with each other. Only thing that bothers me is how the text is situated with the colours and drop shadow. It seems a little, iffy, for some reason. Don't know. Don't have much to say, but keep up the good work. :animesmil

I'm tired of messing with this, lol. So I just made one final one. Lighter stroke, and changed the way "Graphic Artist" was presented. Thanks for the advice Retribution, I tried a few things. Didn't add a border to any of them because, well, because I'm lazy. C&C Appreciated. Some well done signatures you've got there. Dark Link: The background is well done, but the colours of the background and Link don't match as they could. The font "Dark Link" doesn't seem to fit well. It may look better to change the font and add a border/drop shadow to make it stand out more. The "Kakashi-San" font is somewhat the same way. The font is alright, and may fit well if you could make it stand out just a bit more. I don't think "Dark Style" fits anywhere on the image with the font and colour you have chosen. Zone of the Enders: I like this one more than the Dark Link one. The background and character image's colours match well with each other, as do the fonts' drop shadows. Both of the sets of text seem to not stand out well enough to catch the attention (more-so with the Kakashi-San text). Only thing I could suggest is to add a wider dropshadow, and/or make the colour of it darker. Killzone: This one is by far my favorite of these. The background and character, once again, match each other well, and this is the best (colour wise) I've seen out of these. The placement of the character and texts are good. The "Kakashi-San" text could use a slightly better drop shadow/outline. The "Killzone" text is great, but where the background drops down into the lighter colours, it's harder to see the text. I think you could add a outer shadow or a drop shadow just to outline the harder to see parts of the text. Konohas Green Beast: Background and character colour matching is decent, and so is the font colour choice. The image of Lee is really the only thing that irks me about this one. The motion blur-type affect seems to be taking away from it. Don't know. Also, the space between "Konohas Green Beast" and "Lee" is a bit too large. No real center of attention to be given on this one. It's balanced on both sides, which isn't always a good thing. This is the best attempt at doing your fonts I've seen. Easy to see, and the colours match very well with everything else. Hatake Kakashi: The Kakashi image, background and fonts all match (colour-wise) very well. The outlining of the image of Kakashi is a little choppy around his fingers, and seems to have been cut off right next to his pinky finger. The "Hatake Kakashi" font is very well done. The outline and difference in colour makes it stand out enough to be seen. The "Kakashi-San" text doesn't stand out well enough, but would be alright if it would stand out a bit more. The image in the background is also a good choice to match the colours and mood of the signature. So yea. Only thing I think you should work on is your font choices and how to make them stand out well enough not to be overlooked, and adding borders helps out alot with the overall look of the banner, especially when they have brighter backgrounds. Very well done. Hope to see more from you in the future. :animesmil Oh, and welcome to OB. :D

lol, that is a big surprise, never would have guessed that that banner would be your favorite :animesmil . Anyways, here's another banner I've got for y'all. I've also sent an e-mail. Ah yes, the OAE. I remember it well, sorta, lol. I will always be a part of that group, as will all of the older artists, whether they return or not. Ah, good times. *thinks back* :animesmil I intend on visiting more, and making more graphics over the next month or so to get back into the habit of it.

Thanks for the comments. First off, very funny name (Thank god for the chain of command...), and secondly, Red Vs. Blue is awesome for being short "films" from a video game. Season three just ended so there's a gap of entertainment for now until the DVD is released and Season Four. Sometimes their stuff gets stale and isn't funny as in other episodes, but they always amuse. The little "cliff hanger" type things at the end of seasons are working as to pull you back in for another season (as with the Great Destroyer in Season 3).

:animesmil First thread was really successful, for a while at least. Second and third tries were, well, bleh. So here I am with a fourth try at this. Been a while since I've posted anything here (with the exception of maybe one or two banners). If you haven't already guessed this is where I'll be posting the banners I create for comments & critique by you all. So to start things off here are just a couple banners I've done so far. His head is actually standing out more than it originally was from the original picture. I don't know if it'd look good coming out a bit more, but may try it. I don't like to align my text with each other just because, well, I don't like to. I've seen it aligned enough in other banners. I used Kingspike or something like that for the "Tech N9ne" font. Too lazy to look up the name.

Ah, we shall all stand in awe of Boo's headache giving powers. *awe*. The wallpaper is cool, I like the unorganizedness of it. Although, something is irking me about it. Can't put my finger on it (other than the fact that if I look at it for too long I get a headache). I don't think the grid adds to it, though. It just seems like it needs something else. *scratches head* Ah well. Good work *thumbs up* :animesmil

Here's a recent banner I've made. I decided to try and make my own background on my own instead of just overlaying and soft-lighting random tutorial backgrounds, and I like the way it turned out :animesmil . Comments & Critique appreciated.

Heh, sorry for the delay. Photoshop has been acting iffy. So here you go. How is it?

I like rain and/or cloudy cold days. I've never really liked the sun (*shakes fist*). Don't know what it is about cold weather that I like. I enjoy it more than it being 80 degrees outside and I have to walk everywhere. Anytime I get to wear my hoodie or jacket is a good weather day. Like today, it's about 30 something now and will be about 50 something later, with maybe some rain. :animesmil
