I'm not too excited about any of them, but if I had to pick, Goldberg. He will definitely add something more than any of the other comebackers ever will. He is also the bigger rating grabber of the four. I personally never really liked him as a wrestler, but maybe he will surprise me. Nash will probably get injured in like a week, I don't see why he keeps coming back anyways. Maybe reviving his old Diesel persona will give him the push he needs, but I really doubt him getting a huge push any time soon, if ever. As for Sable and Piper, I have no real opinion on them. Sable might spark some new interest in the women's division. Maybe now people won't use the Women's title match as a bathroom break. As Galvatron said, it would be neat if Shamrock came back. I could see a huge feud with him and Angle. Wow, just too many comebacks. I'll just wait patiently for the amazing comeback of K-Kwik.

I saw it and I really liked it. The movie is a lean 81 minutes, so it doesn't drag and always keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you've only seen the previews, you most likely let logic take over and denounce almost everything, making the film seem stupid. Luckily, pretty much everything that you can think of to prove him innocent is spoken upon in the film. I expected there to be some major plot holes, but there weren't any. A good screenplay, good acting, and good directing makes this a good movie. I'm not sure about buying it on DVD yet since the whole point of the movie is to put you in suspense and I already know what happens, but maybe it'll be cheap and have some good extras.

Is anyone here a big Matrix fan? I am, it's one of my favorite movies and I have loved it ever since I saw it in a theatre on opening day in 1999. A great mix of karate and gun play makes it one of the best action films ever. It's heavy on special effects, but it's done perfectly and not overdone ala DareDevil. It also has a great story too, along with some unforgettable characters such as Morpheus. The sequels come out this year, with Reloaded almost a month away. I can't believe that another Matrix movie is so close! The TV spots for The Matrix Reloaded start tommorrow night, so get ready to see a ton of Matrix commercials soon. Every piece of footage I see raises my anticipation for it, it's almost too much to bare. Oh, and has anyone been watching The Animatrix? It's 9 anime shorts done by several directors (involved with Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop, Ninja Scroll and more) that all have to deal with the world of The Matrix. Some show the deep past about how The Matrix came to be, while others are stand alone stories about other people involved. The first three episodes are up right now for free at intothematrix.com. There is also an exclusive one that comes on before Dreamcatcher, and it's rumored that Reloaded will start off where the short left off. A DVD is coming out this June with all nine of the stories, so I can't wait to pick it up. So, are you a Matrix fanatic? Love it? Hate it? Don't really care? Post your opinions here.

Gaming Color Quest, a very interesting game
ThePikasElbow replied to GhostofSalvtore's topic in Noosphere
Well the concept is interesting. Anyone interested in monster design might want to check it out. Sadly, from the screens I have seen, you can't really do a whole lot with the monsters. Most of them are very simplistic, and you could never achieve the detail of how some of the pokemon looks with a few lines. Also, the details on the battle system are a bit sketchy. Since you create them, how do you know what moves they can learn and such? Maybe you choose their type before you draw or something. So it does sound interesting, I might rent it just to try it out. It hits shores May 6th. -
I didn't like it. The only thing good about it was the acting job from the great cast (Morgan Freeman was a bit lacking I thought though). The first 30 minutes is really good, but after the bathroom scene, it pretty much just goes downhill. It was more of a gorefest than a suspensful and creepy vibe that Stephen King books mostly are. It also had way to much CGI. It seemed to be a more "save the world" type movie than a scary one. I just thought it was very lame. Hopefully the book is a lot better. The hilight was Final Flight of the Osiris. Even more beautiful and realistic than FF the movie, and much more entertaining. I didn't really enjoy the sword fight at the beginning though, it just seemed to be a tech demo. Square has been known just to do stuff to see how far they could go...
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve He was not disrespecting the soldiers... It was all anti-Bush and anti-Bush's war policy. He didn't even mention the soldiers.... Did you even hear his speech? Your post here doesn't have any relation to it beside the "if you dislike Bush" part... which is about the only truth in your part.
Of course I heard his speech, although it was a bit hard to catch the end of it with all the loud boos. Yes, he did not mention soldiers, but they fall into a bigger picture. He got up there and said that we have a fake president and we are making up reasons to go to war. He used the word fictious a lot. How fictious are the Iraqi firing on the americans? How fictious are the chemical factories? I'm not for or agaisnt the war, but even if I was against it, I would certainly not show disdain for Bush and the war on national television. The soliders were watching, and to bad mouth Bush and the war IS disrespecting the soldiers, even if he didn't state "I dislike the soldiers blah blah blah" Anyways, I really wish Billy Crystal would host again. Steve Martin is funny, but he was seriously unfunny at the beginning. His quick wit lucklily payed off near the end of the show. At least it wasn't Whoopi Goldberg...

For those who say TTT was the best, have you even seen the other nominees? Heck, TTT wasn't even as good as FotR, and FotR didn't win. I think that they will just give RotK the award, if they weren't, why would they keep nominating it? Anyways, it was a pretty good night, a lot of my favorites won. Adaptation only walked away with one oscar, but it's better than none. I'm glad Chris Cooper won, he was great. I wish Nicholas Cage won for his dual role in Adaptation. He had the best performance of the year, and I really thought he deserved at least some award. I'm glad Zeta Jones won best supporting, it's the only Oscar that I wanted Chicago to win. About Best Makeup, you have to submit for that category, that's why there were only two nominees. LotR either didn't get the paperwork in on time, or they just didn't care about that award. The Pianist grabbed quite a few awards, including some huge ones like Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Director. Polanski's win was shocking, that's for sure. I really thought Scorcese would win. He's been robbed of the Best Director award when he made Raging Bull, GoodFellas and Taxi Driver, so I was sure the acadamy would make up for that with a win this year. Adrien Brody was the upset of the night, topping many amazing actors. He also gave the best speech of the night. He even stopped the music and kissed Halle Berry! Brody for president! Michael Moore's comments were unnecessary and just rude. There are men and women dying in Iraq, and he has to disrespect them like that. Totally uncalled for. I don't care if you dislike Bush, but don't say that the people that are dying in Iraq are dying for nothing. I really wish Chicago didn't win best picture. It was very good, but with outstanding and original movies like Adaptation, Spirited Away and Minority Report, Chicago doesn't seem that special.

Here are my thoughts and predictions on the WMXIX card: ROCK VERSUS AUSTIN: Ah, rematch from the classic WMX7. I agree with Ghost about not letting Austin win due to his walk out. Also, this would give Rock more steam for his recent comeback, and payback for WMX7. A Goldberg interference would be interesting. HOGAN VERSUS MCMAHON: This could go either way I think. I really do think Hogan wants to retire, so this is his chance. If he does lose this match, I believe he will do one big thing before he leaves the ring forever. Maybe screwing Vince somehow in a later show. BOOKER T VERSUS HHH: I think that HHH will retain. He has a great Wrestlemania track record, and I also don't see him losing it to Booker T to go down in Wrestlemania history. I predict him losing it at a more low key pay per view. Wrestlemania is already big, so maybe a good HHH match will be the highlight of another PPV. RVD AND KANE VERSUS CHIEF MORLEY AND LANCE STORM: Wow, such an amazing match this will be. I'll just say RVD and Kane since they are fan favorite. TEAM ANGLE VERSUS LOS GUERREROS VERUS RHYNO AND BENOIT: I'm going with Team Angle. I don't see Benoit and Rhyno lasting long together, so I don't think a push with a title win would be wise. A Los Guerreros victory is likely, but I'm still going with Team Angle. REY MYSTERIO VERSUS MATT HARDY: Rey for sure. He's won over the fans, and he's earned it. Matt has been an annoyance, allowing for really no exciting cruiserweight title matches. He really needs to stop monopolizing the Cruiserweights and move on to something else. Rey should make this an exciting match. LESNAR VERSUS ANGLE: Most likely Lesnar. I've never found Angle to be an exciting champion. Lesnar is gaining more fans and he's looking to be a big superstar, so a WWE title win at WMXIX would help him a lot. HBK VERSUS Y2J: I see HBK winning. That would get the crowd so pumped up beyond belief. This one could really go either way though, so I won't be shocked to see Jericho win. NATHAN JONES AND UT VERSUS A TRAIN AND BIG SHOW: NJ and UT for sure. UT is undefeated in Wrestlemania, and I really don't think guys like ATrain will stop that streak. This will probably be a boring match. What would be interesting is if Nathan Jones turned on UT, causing him his first WM loss. I could see a good rivalry starting there.

Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samarai would have to be my favorite. Sadly, I really haven't seen a lot of non anime Japanese films, besides karate movies. Honestly, how many of us can walk to Blockbuster and rent Hidden Fortress or Yojimbo? Anyways, back to Seven Samurai. Not only is it my favorite Asian film, it's one of my favorite films ever. Probably in my top five. I rented it at Blockbuster several months ago and was blown away. Everything about it is amazing: the characters (although I don't remember a lot of their names) who are so dynamic and you really care for and enjoy watching them, the directing, the music, the acting, the story etc. It's 200 minutes of pure quality. I really want to buy it one day, but it's $40, same as all of Kurosawa's Criterion DVDs. I saw Yojimbo for $30 at Suncoast, so I might pick that up one day. And I know that this is Chinese but I'm gonna mention it anyways. Second favorite Asian film would have to be Hard Boiled starring Chow Yun Fat. A great story about cops and seedy gangsters with some of the coolest and most intense gun fights ever. The hospital fight is great.

Well, they are different games. It is possible for a sequel to be worse than it's predecessors. Many will claim that the newer FFs can't even touch VI or VII in terms of gameplay. There are even those who like LttP more than OoT. Crazy, but true. JGR, Shenmue, and PSO on Xbox are different games. JGR didn't receive high marks from most places due to it's lack of a good level design. Shenmue II also didn't get high marks due to it's repetitive and boring tasks. PSO is already out for GCN, so why would he want to buy it on Xbox when he has the GCN version. Who knows, that's just him. He just doesn't like Xbox. I don't like cherry pie, people have different tastes.
Originally posted by GhostofSalvtore Your a gamer right? and I would say most gamers reason for not owning all the consoles is or should be money, and lets say you had the money I think you should buy the xbox even if it is the last console of the next-gens you get.
There is a bigger reason besides money: games. If a console doesn't have any games that interest you, there is no reason to buy it. He just doesn't like any of Xbox's games, that's him. I'm sure there is a genre you don't like. You shouldn't be obliged to buy every gaming console just for status.

The game was confusing when I first heard of it, but now it looks great. It's the ultimate pick up and play game. I love Wario, and although a lot of the mini games don't have him in it, the name Wario always grabs my interest anyways. If you've ever seen the game in action, you know the mayhem. In a two minute period, you could have played maybe 20 mini games. One second you're playing punch out, the next you're trying to dodge fireballs, and the next you are trying to score a soccer goal. It sounds crazy, so it's a must have! It's release date is also my birthday, so there is a high chance of me getting it soon after it's release!

The Xbox controller is the bulkiest controller ever. There is no denying it. Everytime I play with my friends, I must use the S Controller. The S controller is much better, but it still has it's flaws. For one thing, the start and back button are not in the middle and are under the left stick. This causes me to stop in order to switch grenades for Halo or something. They should be under the big, unnecessary Xbox logo. I think that the new Xboxes are bundled with the S controller, so you don't have to worry about the monstrosity that is the original Xbox controller! As for DC, it was a great system with a lot of quirky games. It revolutionized online console gaming. It was easy to use, and free with the exception of a few games. Hiachi mentioned a ton of great DC games above. It just couldn't keep up with the PS2 with its graphical prowess and games that had a larger audience, so it eventually died.

Yup it's azure. Ask a question. Oh and your sig is extremely long!
-
No, I'll let a few more people guess and then we must might have to skip it. I'll give you one last hint: it's a shade of blue.
-
It's wrong. I'll give you another hint, it's not a simple name like red, blue, purple etc. It's kinda a off color like Cerulean, Goldenrod, Maroon etc. Oh, and it's not Cerulean, Goldenrod, or Maroon!
-
Woo, a question! Alrighty, here is mine. Just fill in the blank. This is from the video game .hack. Orca of the *blank* Sea and Balmung of the *blank* Sky. Hint: It's the same word for both.
-
Well at least I got the second one. The answer is Monster Ock for the first one!
-
Doctor Octupus for the first one and Elektro for the second. Not too sure about the first game but I know that Elektro was the villian in the second one. I hope I'm right!

GCN has no online plan right now. They are on the fence, twiddling there thumbs and waiting to see what everyone else does. Yamuchi did not want Nintendo to go online so fast because it isn't a big market in Japan like it is here. Well, Yamuachi is out now, so who knows what could happen. Hopefully the new guy in charge (Iwata?) will decide to make GCN an online heavy console. Hopefully it will allow everyone to play, from AOL 56kers to broadband users. Oh, and Ghost N Goblins Online was announced today for all consoles, including GCN. Not a lot of information has been released except for an announcemnt. GCN online games +1!

No doubt that Zelda is on the tip of everybody's tongues. We are most likely all getting it, and it is the biggest GCN game to launch this year. It has been criticized and analyzed more than any other Zelda. I don't have any numbers on this, but look at when it first debuted. Everyone was skeptical. When we saw some actual footage of it, everyone couldn't wait. Many are still on the fence about the game, believe it or not. All Zeldas are great, that's a proven fact, but could Wind Waker be the best Zelda? Could it top OoT or LttP? I'm thinking that it could, at least for me. I've played some of it at Best Buy and I loved it. The graphical style is so clean and stylish. Fighting is also tons of fun, and it doesn't seem repetitive. I wish I could play some more, but I'll just have to wait. People who have imported the game have loved it, and it got a perfect score from Famitsu. There hasn't been a single bad mark about the game. So, do you think that Wind Waker could be the best Zelda ever? Hell, I'm willing to hope that it's the best game ever, but I don't want to get my hopes that high up. [edit] I know theres a Zelda board but this is a Nintendo board after all and this relates to Nintendo. Please don't move it.

Ghost: Of course Zelda will sell well. Mario sold well and so do the other Nintendo titles. Zelda looks like it will become one of my favorite games, maybe even on top of OoT. The issue here is not quality. The issue here is giving the people what they want. They are giving them top quality games, but they need something that grabs every gamer. They need that Halo or that GTA. I'm hoping that Zelda will gain some momentum for GCN. Famitsu gave it a perfect score, and they rarely do that. Guy above me: I have tried TS2 and I love it. I'm not saying they need a Goldeneye in terms of gameplay, they need a Goldeneye in terms of impact. Goldeneye put Rare on the map and pushed tons of N64s. They need another big system pusher.
-
Alright then, name twenty, yes twenty, characters that are playable in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
-
Ok I have to clear some stuff up. 1)The 3D pokemon game for GCN is most likely Stadium. I don't think it's been announced, but it's pretty obvious. For one thing, you have to own Ruby or Sapphire to play the game. Also, the game is supposed to be really cheap. No way that this is a full fledged 3D RPG. 2)No one knows what Square will do for GCN after CC, there have been no announcements. They will most likely still support them, since they have CC for both GCN and GBA, and FFT for GBA. As for if they are giving people what they want I think they are. The problem is, the masses don't want what the hardcore fans want. People say Nintendo is kiddy, so they push out mature titles. Sadly, these mature titles haven't been flying off the shelves. I think ED did 100k, RE did about 500k and RE0 did about 350k. Not bad numbers, but not ground breaking. All of these games are great, I just don't see why people won't pick them up. Probably only because of the small user base. Fans wanted a new Mario and they got one. Fans wanted a new Zelda and they are getting one. They are definitely giving them what the hardcore fans want. But what about the general public? I think GCN is yet to win them over. They need something. They need another Goldeneye. Another Pokemon. Another GTA. Nintendo just needs one big thing to gain some momentum, and then they can win back their user base from there. I love my GCN, but they haven't had any groundbreaking titles that appeal to everyone. Nintendo just needs that one key game. Oh and if Nintendo wants to give me something, tell them I want a Skies sequel, a 3D RPG, and for them to get more RPG support!
