I sneeze at least once a day, I'd say. Recently, my sneezes have actually caused me pain. Whenever I sneeze, I get a dull ache in my arm. It's highly annoying.
it wont make people quit it just forces us to pay more...
Of the smokers I know (a dozen or so), about half of them have quit because of this. While I'd hardly suggest that this represents a trend, it stands to reason that these half-dozen people are not the only ones quitting because of the price hike. It also stands to reason that the price increase isn't going to convince anybody to start smoking if they aren't currently a smoker. That'd be crazy. So I'd say it's definitely giong to reduce the number of smokers, even if that reduction is going to be small.

Allan is a fairly interesting comic. It's not laugh out loud hilarious, but it's a very enjoyable distraction. Captain SNES would be my absolute favorite webcomic ever if it could go back to updating more than 15 times a year. Gods of Arr-Kelaan is pretty fascinating. It updates slowly, though understandably so. I think the current story has been going on for nearly 2 years. It's a little maddening, but a good read anyway. EDIT: Oh wow, two and a half years. Yeesh.

Next Tuesday, the math department is having a cookout. All of the math majors will be there, and there will be free food and (presumably math-related) games for everyone. I intend to go, but everybody I know is refusing to go with me on account of the word "math." I really don't want to go alone, because there's something about being the friendless guy in the middle of a bunch of math nerds that would really make me feel like I've hit rock bottom socially.
so sence I qouted this message, what does it make me?
I'd say it'd make you needy.
Anyway, when it comes to pain... probably my worst experience was a broken leg from a car accident. Surgery and then casts for a few months was a royal pain in the butt.
I was mauled by a dog when I was... seven? Maybe eight. That was pretty painful, though I recall feeling a lot more pain from my back, which was relatively lightly scratched and got only one stitch, than I did on my should. Well, I guess I should say what was my shoulder, because it was kind of missing at that point. I also suffer from frequent headaches and moderate to severe stomach pains from acid reflux. I also stub my toes a lot.
Well, I had a friend who LOST a testicle in a penny press, did you ever lose an organ or body part due to a period? I think not, so do you think a period is worse than that pain? This is to all women.
"Getting hit" is hardly the same as "getting caught in machinery." I should also point out this: periods are a monthly thing. A guy can get his testicles ripped off by penny presses like, what, twice in his life? The quantity of this one overrides the quality.
Oh, and I was talking about the pain of losing a body part or organ via press.
Which... is neither specific to testicles nor to any one sex.

I heard that Easter was originally a pagan holiday?
Nerdsy replied to xxxscenekidxxx's topic in General Discussion
All I was getting at was that this was originally a topic about the origins of Easter and that, as usual, it got out of hand and turned into a religious battle of words. That is what I was referring to as disappointing mostly.
I know what you were getting at. I was saying that you're placing the blame squarely on one side: the defense of religion. You claim that the starting blocks of becoming off-topic are "religious defense." This is one sided, as it takes both the attack and defense to derail a thread (and ignores how the attackers were the ones who initiated it). And you do it in a very condescending way. And that's what I find disappointing.
I didn't say anything about those who attacked it for a simple reason... Why care so much? Back when I was a Christian, I was thought that it didn't matter what others thought, or said about it, all that mattered was that YOU believed in it. So, why feel the need to defend it if you know it's right? Why does it matter if another person who has no affect of your life disagrees with your opinion? Oh and... What happened to turning that other cheek? :P"
Why care so much when people defend their beliefs? They believe it is right to defend themselves; if you think it only matters what individuals believe is right, why do you mock them when they act on those beliefs? Or, why are you defending yourself when you know you're right? Or, why is it you're criticizing another person who has no effect on your life because he decides that he wants to respond to an attacker? By writing this paragraph I quoted, aren't you doing exactly what you say there is no need for? What you have chastised others for doing because it derailed a thread? And turning the other cheek doesn't mean "don't have a dialogue." -
And the biggest con to having a visible post count rears it's head. Good thing three people hardly make it a trend.
By the way guys... Nice to see that things haven't changed and that people are still on the religious-defence starting blocks to make a topic that was originally about the origins of Easter go off track. Ho hum. Very disappointing. :(
You find the defense of a religion disappointing, but say nothing about those who have attacked it? Very disappointing. -
Do you have anything you can do that helps? Reading, for instance?
There are things that help, but except for skipping an entire night's sleep nothing seems to get me below a half hour. If I down a glass each of warm milk and warm chamomile and sleep with a heating pad, I can pretty consistently stick to the half hour time. Doing anything productive (like reading) doesn't really work. The act of standing and walking back to bed is enough to wake me right back up and I'm back at square one. Even if I read in bed, the act of putting the book up, turning off the light and sliding down under the covers is enough to screw me over. It can get pretty frustrating when I'm trying to go to sleep, but it never seems nearly as bad the next morning. It may take a while, but I always have a restful sleep.
