Castlevania: DS is a great side-scrolling platformer. It's got fantastic RPG elements (levling up, equipment, items, stuff like that), and you can unlock a second mode that requires almost an entirely different kind of play style, which gives it great replay value. Professor Layton and the Curious Village is incredible, though it there's a good chance you might not like it considering it's nothing but a bunch of brainteasers.

Quotes: The silly, the strange and the questionable

Say what you will about the sweet miracle of unquestioning faith, I consider a capacity for it terrifying and absolutely vile! - Kurt Vonnegut Scepticism is the beginning of faith. - Oscar Wilde At the bottom of enmity between strangers lies indifference. -Soren Kierkegaard I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much. - Mother Teresa It is better to be a human dissatisfied than a pig satisfied; better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a fool satisfied. - John Stuart Mill -
Hmm.. I'm thinking about getting the DS version, but seeing that I had the PS version at one point, would there really be a need to get this one? What's the difference between the DS and PS versions? I still may get it just because... Square should do a remake of FFVII and FFVIII on the DS or PSP. (I would need to get a PSP though) Prices are already stupid for FFVII, and FFVIII seems to be going up last time I checked amazon.
There are two extra areas, one of which involves a ridiculous amount of backtracking and the concept for the other is inadequately explained. It adds a couple hours to your game time. There's also an extra boss and new armor/weapons, and there's the arena, which is a ridiculously silly Pokemon-like thing.
I understand the reasoning, but a fictional character can be just as endearing and evoke at your emotions as anything else.
My emotions? No. See, I don't think it can, considering fictional characters have never been as endearing to me as a flesh and blood person (or animal, for that matter). Perhaps for other people, it can, but the "not real" factor is definitely legitimate.
We're covering shapes now.... That length x width x height... crap... (PIE x whatever) I think I'm gonna die.
Simple volume problems aren't incredibly difficult once you get the hang of 'em. It's mostly memorization of formulae. What level math class are you in? If you're finding the volume of shapes made by rotating graph around a line, that might be a bit trickier, heh.
people of all races today are becoming more and more aware and its about time:animesmil
Aware of what?
Not exactly sure where to ask this, but I need some help in math. (I haven't done math in so long) Ratio's... Proportions. I don't even think I was taught this back in middle or high school so it's a little new to me. Question. In the following proportion, if y is larger than 8, what statement can be made about the size of x? y/4 = x/3 I'm just now getting the hang of ratios/proportions and then this book want to go ahead and kill me with questions like that.
In that equation, if Y is large than 8, then x is larger then 6. If you plug 8 into y, you'll find that you get 8/4, whcih reduces to two. Therefore, you must set x/3 equal to 2 and find the x. x/3=2 (3)(x/3)=(3)(2) x=6. Since y cannot equal 8, x can't actually equal 6, but using the information we can find that if y is any higher than 8, x must also be higher than 6. Ratios are basically division problems.

Moore is considerably better if you ease into him. His stories are pretty boring... in Watchmen, for example, it takes so damn long for anything interesting to happen. I'd recommend waiting for a while before tackling anything by Moore.

If you're looking for instant gratification, Sandman, Kingdom Come, and Batman: DKR are all great reads that you can just pick up. Sandman will get expensive, though; there are 11 volumes of that, so beware. Kingdom Come and DKR are nice because they're almost completely self contained. Unfortunately, DKR has terrible art. For the Ultimate series, I'd suggest sticking to the first few volumes of any series. They with the intent of avoiding a lot of the horrible cliches in mainstream comics (time travel, dimensional travel, resurrection), but after a year or two they gave in and now they're really not worth it. Ultimates and Ultimates 2 are both really good, though; slick artwork and excellent writing. If you're looking for ongoing titles, I recommend New Avengers from Marvel. I can't vouch for anything else; Marvel and DC are currently focused on the majors crossovers Dark Reign and Final Crisis. Marvel can't seem to go one week without a major crossover and all of the DC titles I read are currently going through a changing of the guard. I am, however, enjoying the current Brave and the Bold storyline from DC, which involves the Phantom Stranger, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow. I suggest shopping around; pick up a couple random or interesting looking titles a week (or two), see which ones you like and go from there.

I'm currently living in Evansville, Indiana. It's like my old town, only bigger. And by that, I mean they both suck. The only thing this town really has going for it is it has this really sweet comic book store that's only mildly out of the way. Oh, and an Aldi's just opened up.
It's been awhile since I've played FF XII, but I believe that you could only control Vaan correct?
Wrong. You could control all three active characters during the course of the battle. Really, the only difference between FFXII's battle system and the ATB of FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX is that it was converted to real time and they introduced an option for automation.

We just got his by two days of intermittent freezing rain and snow. It's terrible outside right now. Most of the on-campus apartments are without power (though the dorms still have it, grrr them), and it could stay that way for up to a week. The ****** aparments leak out all the heat very rapidly, so after a day of being without electricity, everything is really freakin' cold. Everyone on campus is miserable. ANd, since we aren't allowed candles, we have almost zero light source after 6. The library is the only place anything can really be done, which means it's packed.
First item: I am in my pants. I am an extremely important to keep in my pants. I never go anywhere without me.
I'd say, personally, that I'm in my pants maybe 30% of the time. Right now, for instance, the only thing my pants have in them are about 5 bucks in change, my cell phone (dead), 3 or 4 cards that I need for moneys or identifications or whatnots, [strike]a roll of Necco wafers, some pop rocks, a milky way, and a giant-sized sugar daddy named Luther[/strike], maybe my wallet, at least 3 Wockets (located conveniently in my pockets), loose trash because I never seem to be around a trash can when I need to be, and a partridge in a pear tree. And I am noticeably absent.
Yeah but they were killed off AFTER God gave man dominion over the animals. It was our responsibility to take care of them and we blew it.
So there is a reason god would create a species and then let them get killed off? So... he would? Now, it's my understanding that Genesis states that the animals and man were created on the same day. That doesn't even give the eggs time to hatch before humans have dominion over the animals. According to your logic here, God was protecting those two eggs for maybe a couple of hours before it was up to ole' Adam and Eve to care for them.
That's a lie. I saw at least six this morning alone. ....oh you mean birds. Whups.
All dodos are extinct, man, whether it be bird, fish, dog, or human. You must have seen their descendants, the Nincompoops.
