I'm pretty sure God made two eggs of different sexes, who then bred after they became adults. And the chicks wouldn't have died on their own...Why would God make eggs to start a species and then just let them get killed off? He wouldn't.
Lot's of species have been killed off. Dodos, for example.
Well, it does say that in the bible, that the sons must suffer the sins of the father. So, if you're a christian, then you kinda answered your own question.
The "Because I say so" approach hasn't worked with me since I was 3.
-
In this context, why should God remove human suffering, wasn't it self inflicted?
I don't recall eating any strange fruits. How is it good that I (or for that matter, anyone) have to suffer for the sins of the father?

Discussion in Connotation: Dorks, Geeks, and Nerds
Nerdsy replied to Roxie Faye's topic in General Discussion

Did you know that another defenition for "dork" is "a whale's penis"?

That's not true. "Dork" doesn't mean "whale penis," it just means "penis." -
I'm just... nevermind me. :animesmil I'm just tired of seeing so many early judgments of him based on one interview and one picture. .
My judgements of him are currently only about his face. I'm waiting for some screen time before I say anything else. ; ) Although I've seen more than one picture. And there was even one were he didn't look like a Jay Leno/Crispen Glover vampire lovechild!
People said the exact same thing about David Tennant. ;)
I didn't, though. I've always enjoyed Tennant's face.

I don't like his face. It's weird.
Obviously, Rorschach is my favourite character of the series, because I agree with his point of view,]
That's funny, considering Rorshach was designed to be a criticism of that school of thought.

Death to film critics! Hail to the CelebCult!
Where were the trailers and promos for A Scanner Darkly?
Everywhere? I was 'bout sick and tired of hearing about it back around the time of it's release. It was one of those "let's air this commercial every break! kind of things. -
I have a pretty acute fear of socializing. Pretty much any situation that causes me to interact with people of any sort just makes me all kinds of nervous.
Actually according to the files, all of the enterprises were built on Utopia Planetia. Am I the only one who knows this? Yes.
Which files? 'Cause I'm pretty sure only D was built there. Most of the rest (at least the one's that have had their origins revealed) were built at the San Francisco Fleet Yards.
However I'm not sure they go over the speed of light. I could be wrong though, as I'm not a big star trek fan.
Oh, they do. 765,000 times the speed of light is the highest non-transwarp speed achieved by a spaceship, from the TOS episde "By Any Other Name." Warp 1 is the speed of light, Warp 3 is about 483 times the speed of light, etc. As for warping the fabric of space, they do do that, but that warping actually propels them to faster-than-light travel. So it's really both. And fact versus fiction... I don't really care if a show set 250 years into the future takes liberties with what we currently consider fact. I'm sure that after that long, people could have discovered ways to do what is "impossible."
-
One thing though... they're building the Enterprise on Earth? Gene Rodenberry (creator of Star Trek) knew what he was doing when he had the Enterprise in the original series built in space. There is no way you could launch something that large out of Earth's orbit.
You're fine with them going several hundred times the speed of light, but that bothers you? I say if they can produce the energy to travel 765,000 times the speed of light, I imagine they can break escape velocity purdy easily.

I'm very aprehensive about this. There seems to be an... extreme quality to it that really just makes me sick to my stomach. The trailer just screams "LOOK AT KIRK, HE'S SO EDGY!" The cast is great for the most part, though. Simon Pegg! Zachary Quinto! Yay!
Yep, in The Five Doctors, the Time Lords offered the Master a new set of regenerations if he would rescue the Doctor. However, this clashes with the main storyline, where President Borusa sought Rassilon's mythical immortality. If they could already give the Master new regenerations, why didn't Borusa just do that? It's a technical paradox that continues to plague fandom.
And that brings up another point; Doctor Who isn't the best with internal consistency. Or logic for that matter. Which, I suppose, is perfectly acceptable from a show based around time travel. You kind of have to ignore logic from the get-go.
-
Besides, the fact that the Master returned at the end of Season 3 (simply explaining that the Time Lords had resurrected him) proves that by the Time War, they had that ability to give themselves a complete new set of regenerations. I bet that due to the war, they had to extend the number of regens to keep from losing too many of their troops. It's just a theory, but like you said, since they haven't explicitly mentioned the 13-regeneration limit there's good probability that they will find a way to get around that if the show is still going strong when we get near the end of #13.
I'm under the impression that they've had the ability before; I haven't seen the episode myself, so I'm going on hearsay, but I believe the Master was offered new regenerations in The Five Doctors. And apparently BBC's current stance on the subject is "who knows?"
Everyone over here new half way through the last season that he was leaving. Sucks to watch a British show in America =p. Also, you get no more seasons. He's only doing specials - that's about three more episodes. Two incredibly short ones and a Christmas special. Or vice versa.
I was under the impression that, even when the Journey's End aired, it was just a rumor. Far as I can tell, Tennant didn't actually reveal this until October. And I don't know about your Brits, but we Americans don't like to take rumors at face value. ; ) Oh, my sources tell me 4 more 1 hour specials in addition to this next Christmas special. I'm also not concerned about the regen limit. I don't believe it's been mentioned in the new series, and I wouldn't put it past the new writers to either ignore it or find a way around it, especially after what they pulled with that false regen.

Ozymandias looks ridiculous and Rorshach sounds stupid. That is all.
