2. Aladdin. Let's see who else loves the classics. "What's the matter with boot blacking, we both like it very much."
 3. Finally, the work portion of my day is essentially over. I've been looking forward to Rock Band drumming with the Beatles all week. Time to... Wait... where's my connector? ... ALL OF MY HATE.
 4. Oh hey guess what didn't happen. The bags under my eyes will never go away and I can't even finish my color tags properly. Good thing I have a test in two hours.
 5. You know what would be great? If I could fall asleep before 5. That would just be keen.
 6. I absolutely loathe it when I get to the phone a second too late, but when I try to call the person back they don't pick up. You go from using to phone to not being able to tell that your phone is ringing within 15 seconds? BLARG!
 7. I wouldn't say that Infiltrator and Vanguard were similar classes; their abilities had different enough effects, it's just that their method of application was the same. I never varied my tactics; shoot/power from cover. The main difference was whether I hurled them through the air or shut down their abilities. I also had a playthrough as an Adept, albeit on a lower difficulty level. I'm not sure how you can think giving up a shotgun and medium armor for Stasis constitutes more of a difference than between Vanguard and Infiltrator... I know it, again, didn't change my strategies. I never even used Stasis until I powered it up with a class change to Bastion. Soldier is, well... just boring. I don't like giving up flashy powers just to shoot different guns. Again, it wouldn't change my strategy; I've tried all the guns, never varied what I did with them.
 8. Mrs. Doubtfire. "And he had one thing you haven't got." "And what's that?" "A great big bushy beard!"
 9. I can't speak on characters built from scratch, but playing through again with a different class/gender does create a significantly different experience. I originally played an Adept, then switched to Vanguard, and both legitimately felt like I was playing a different game, unlike Mass Effect 1 where it didn't really feel all that different switching classes. In ME1, I played Vanguard and Infiltrator, and it was the same thing both times. Shoot and take cover when necissary. The only difference was how far away I could be when I hit those sumbitches. There's even less variety when picking between two classes with similar abilities, like Adept and Vanguard or Infiltrator and whatever the full-tech class was (although a fully powered-up Stasis makes you a beast). In ME2, my entire playstyle was completely different. As an Adept, I strategically sniped (originally with powers, then with an actual sniper) enemies from decent cover, knocking them about with pull, push, and singularities and then picking them out of the air. With Vanguard, I used whatever that teleporting-punch thing is and hopped all around the damn battlefield like a maniac, flanking enemies I never would have flanked with the other class. I actually prefer that. Different gender doesn't matter that much... just a few minor dialogue changes and different romance options (still no Mordin D:). Didn't really answer your question, just wanted to talk about it, heh.

 11. Fact: Reese hearts are the third greatest holiday shape Reese cups, right behind eggs and pumpkins. That alone makes Valentine's Day an important holiday.
 12. This isn't so much a bug as a suggestion, but I don't feel like wasting a thread on it. Can we make it so non-logged in members can click the "add reply" button or "add thread" button, and have it take them to a sign-in page which then directs them to where they intended to go originally? As it stands now I have to manually click the sign-in link at the top of the page, which then sends me to the main page and I have to hunt for the thread/post I was replying to. Minor annoyance, but I hate it so.
 13. Unlockables. For me, gaming without a goal isn't as fun. It's why I find games like Grand Theft Auto to be a little dull even though it is a brilliant game. Everyone goes on an on about how expansive the world is and how the absolute freedom is invigorating, and I know people who have spent literally hundreds of hours just driving around. I, however, get bored after fifteen minutes or so of dicking around without a reason to do something. Same with Oblivion. Incredibly immersive world, but all those caves and Aeylid ruins... they felt empty and hollow to me, because so many of them were basically empty and hollow. Exploration doesn't do it for me unless there are things to find... without that major distinguishing element, they all started to run together for me. Unlockables add that goal for me. I spent just spent several hours in the past week playing Mario Kart trying to unlock everything. Without that, I probably wouldn't have spent a second playing it, simply because I've played all the older versions so damn much that it's really hard to get into it by myself anymore. Hell, I'm still sometimes reluctant to play it with friends. Of course, they have to be good unlockables too. Gun, I game I absolutely adored when I played it, offered an armored horse upon 100% completion of the game. The horse was super fast and indestructable, but by the time you got it there was absolutely nothing to do. Every so often a group of 4 or 5 Indians would attack, but they were easily dispatched after a few seconds and posed to threat to any horse you might have owned. I unlocked it, but sure enough within 15 minutes of screwing around on that horse I stopped playing and never picked the game up again.

 17.
...YEAH. RUB IT IN EVERYONE. You all have snow and I have a flood! The winterstorm was on the border of the county I live in so IT MISSED ME! -_- But maybe the rain will freeze and the roads will be too slippery for school. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow morning but it doesn't look like we will. And just to throw this out there, I got a 100 on my latest watercolor drawing AND OMG IT'S SO COLD. THE WIND IS BLOWING THROUGH THE CRACKS IN MY WALL. And I don't like Calculus atm.
Minus the watercolor and and hatred of calculus, I'm in the exact same situation. My family back home couldn't believe that we've gotten absolutely no snow down here, especially considering they're going onto their second day of total business shutdown tomorrow. I'm kind of glad it isn't hitting here though. Evansville isn't exactly the mosst capable of handling a major winter storm. There have been a couple of times in the past few years when a good chunk of the city lost it's power for well over a week. USI got it's power back on much more quickly than that, but it got damn cold after the second day with no power. And boring. On the other hand, it was seriously beautiful and relaxing walking around campus with absolutley no artificial light. But seriously, though. Rain? What the hell.
 18. History of Math is one of the highest level math classes offered here, so why is it taught like we're all in 2nd grade? Also Professor Binns is incredibly boring.
Yeah, how Victor originally created the Slender Man was that he kidnaps children and takes them places and can kind of hypnotize you in a way, which I'm thinking is what Marble Hornets is portraying when
people have memory loss for extensive amounts of time. That and the one video ToTheArk posted of J sitting on the floor pale with the Slender Male walking up to the camera.
I think it's more of the Slender Man's aura that makes this creepy. They may not follow the whole children thing, but it's just the fact that you're watching and anticipating he's going to be there. And the second you spot him in a frame you jump inside. If he killed people, he wouldn't be as scary because instead he just keeps tormenting people by following them and you have to anticipate his next appearance and never know when he'll "strike."
Even in Victor's original posts Slender Man killed adults. Mostly people who have taken his picture or were in the vicinity of his image or found his organ bags. And they have sprinkled in at least one aspect of the children thing:
Entry 9.
And of course,
he may have killed people in the series anyway. There seems to be a lot of bloodstains everywhere, and it seems like Seth got his **** ruined.
The aura they're playing up is definitely what drew me to the series. It plays on one of my deepest fears: the idea of being watched. Nothing freaks me out more than the idea of someone being near me without me knowing about it, and Slender Man has that in spades. I'm still rewatching vids and seeing him in places I didn't the first time. Ugh. For example, Entry 7. It's one of, if not, the most predictable events in the series.
Guy moves his head aside and Slender Man is there. I knew it was coming the entire video, but his entrance was so subtle: absolutely nothing anounced his presence. If it hadn't been a predictable plot element, I wouldn't have noticed him. He was just there. Watching. That fact that he didn't do anything made it so much worse for some reason.
For me, though, the crowning moment of terror comes in Entry 18.
******* Masky. Oh god **** him. J is just wandering around the house, breathing heavily (and already causing me to freak out because I can tell that he's freaking out) and bam. There's some guy that I had never seen before. Sitting there. Watching. And then, suddenly, he charges. At 2 in the morning. : ( That was a perfect video. It's night, the house is narrow, claustrophobic, it's obvious somebody lives there but his presence is never felt, the sounds J makes, the quickness with which Masky charges so that you can't quite tell what he's doing, it all comes together to make sure I can't sleep at night.

But... The Slender Man (according to the article) is only after kiddos right? So why would anyone else be afraid of the guy? :(
There's more to the original mythos (that article is just the first post), but I didn't really want to sludge through the original SA thread to find all the posts. They're here and here (posted by Victor Surge) if you're interested, but Marble Hornets doesn't really stick to this interpretation exactly. At least so far.
 21. Marble Hornets is a web series about Slender Man, and it scares the ever-loving **** out of me. In a lot of ways, the its like The Blair Witch Project: it's presented an amateur film project where the subjects become haunted by an unearthly force. The scares stem not from cheap "Boo!" moments, but from the atmosphere, which is deliberate and moody. There are a few "Boo!" moments, but because of the general aura of terror and the masterful underplaying of them, they feel more real and terrifying. I don't really scare easily when it comes to fiction, but this series seems to hit all the right buttons. I actually think it's better than The Blair Witch Project, at least when terror is concerned; the evil force in Blair Witch is too intangible, negating the terror that is associated with an unknown entity. Slenderman, however, makes his presence explicitly known. The mystery is still there, but there is a tangible focus for it. Its the best of both worlds. Anyway, watch this and the companion piece ToTheArk. There's a viewing order here.
 22.
WE CANNOT BE CENSORED well, not consistently, anyway. There is too much explicitness to handle.
Funny story: Most people say "uh" and "um" or something like that when they need time to think of the right words. I am so foul-mouthed that I say "*******" instead without even realizing it. Combine that with the fact that I say "but" as bridge between two (usually)unrelated ideas and I need a second or two for my thoughts to switch gears makes me the most innapropriate person ever.
