1.
This may come off as me being sarcastinc but it's not meant to. I'm just confused on the whole Dungeons and dragons thing. You pay money for a couple books that tell you how to use your imagination?
You buy the books for the ruleset, just like any other board game. Would you say "Why pay money on Monopoly, when we could just take our knowledge of economics, real estate, and money and just make something up instead!" The books don't tell you how to use your imagination, they just give you a tool to be able to apply it. I mean, just by you saying it would be better if "you have a say in how it's run," makes me think you don't really know how tabeltops work, despite the fact that you take your handle from a DnD character; you have an enormous say in how they're run, especially if you are a GM. You pretty much control everything. Yes, you could just make up a system with your friends, but good luck keeping it from devolving into into, "I shot you!" "No, you didn't!"
 2.
Anyone else remember Earthworm Jim?
Yes, I do. But more importantly, I remember Earthworm Jim 3D. My expectations for this new title are not high.
 3. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is the first baby born of two Otakuites. That's right, world. Otakuites are breeding. The world shall soon be ours.
 4.
Yes, I sent a message to James at 2am this morning(my time), lol.
That reminds me... I forgot to send a thank you for when you sent me a birthday PM. So, uh, thanks! And sorry I suck at returning PMs.
 5.
Well, Oprah, Bigs Bunny, Calvin and Hobbes, are beyond my skill of imagination, I'm afraid.
Quitter.
And besides, both Riku and Luffy are serious characters. They aren't comedic in nature (except for Luffy, to an extent).
The intent behind Riku may have been serious, but the exectution was definitely goofy.
 6.
Skin color no longer matters (it shouldn't have in the first place) and no one hates their brother any more.
You're right, there's totally no such thing as racism anymore. I'm not going to guess to whether or not this case was racially motivated because I have no business doing so. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't; I'm far too removed from teh entire sitation to say with any certainty either way. I should point out, however, that just because two of the officers were black does not mean this does not have a racial component;a black man pulling over a black man for being black is still profiling.
 7.
You know what's kind of irritating at times like this? Double Jeopardy. Can't there be some kind of clause for when the judge is obviously full of it?
Those are known as "appeals."
 8.
Garek ? StarTrek DS9
Garak, damn it. My one and only suggestion is Tommy Oliver from Power Rangers. And I don't want to hear about bow he's not "serious enough." You pretty much said "screw that" yourself when you included Luffy and Riku. Besdies, if you're good enough, you could take every single one of these suggestions and make them serious.
 9. I'm an insomniac, sleep is hard enough to come by without stimulants.
 10.
Oh man, I forget what was the code name for that forum? It's ironic that I'd forget it because I'm pretty sure I came up with it.
Clarity, I believe, which is also what the Otakupedia page calls it.
 11. Do the second one first. If he reacts poorly, then think about the first.
 12. I recently watched The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes, and I have to one thing to say about it... What?
 13.
I havn't been on Group sounds in forever, so I wouldn't know whether or not, if its dead. I forgot the link. So, I guess someone else will have to figure out if its dead or not. Well, we could always try and find the secret mod forum, and then, we will have a new home.
It's definitely dead, and the internet is a little sadder for it. As for the secret mod forum... I can't be as sure, but I'm pretty sure it's dead too. I managed to find it (you'd be surprised what a simple google search for "secret ob mod forum" can do), joined (but my account was never activated, heh), and I haven't been able to find it again.
 14.
I wouldn't call it cynicism as much as I would call it truth.
The two aren't mutually exclusive. ; )
We still need that Meeting Of The Indiana OB'ers, by the way! (Even though Mr. Maul & I have already met). Sometime this summer, perhaps
Would have to be summer, considering I go to school in Evansville now, heh.
 15.
E - "No, we really do care about you" - AKA, bulls***.
Your cynicism is disheartening.
 16. Some of the friendships I've made on OB are some of the closest and most meaningful I ever had, if not the absolute most meaningful. I've made sure to keep those friendships going, even if it's nothing more than reading their blog or keeping up with their Flickr account. There are those that I made good friends with that have disappeared, either by the natural erosion of our friendship or a decision on their part to completely cut themselves off from OB (or the internet at large.) Of the present... First, and most obviously, I'd miss the rest of the Triad if they up and disappeared. Of course, with Sara's refusal to sign on IM (at least without being away every damn minute of the day), that might happen soon. You hear me, Sara? Be online more 'Course... my computer's broken right now, so I wouldn't be able to get on IM anyway. Whoops. And of course there's Ben, who I still talk to from time to time, and who apparently has come back to OB after years of absence. Hooray! As for those from the past... Ajeh, Ginnylyn, and Angel, who have all become scarce for different reasons. Those are all the people I'd miss on a personal level; the list of people I miss because of what they brought to OB is much longer and I don't care to try. So there. Oh, yeah. I'm going to consider everyone who misses DB to be suffering from some bizarre form of Stockholm Syndrome.
 17.
It's like sweet revenge for the teasing over the VD incident.
*snickers* I don't think anyone realizes how long I've been waiting for a pink theme. It's like my birthday, Christmas, and Easter all wrapped up together here.
 18.
I know this thread has been dead for a few days, but some of the earliest OB members of Vox started a PostSecret Thursday over two years ago. I do not know if anyone is still doing it, but here is an example of what everyone usually had to make. I think it died because no one had time. I think it would be cool if OB did some community event where users submitted to one person and then the best ones were displayed or something...
I don't stick to the Thursday schedule anymore, but I still do it from time to time. I switched it to Mondays a little while ago... Really, I stopped because I couldn't keep thinking up secrets. 'Course, those were all set to Friends Only. Nobody really saw them anyway, heh.
 19. The appeal behind it is that it's supposed to be cathartic. You send in a dark, deep secret that's been eating away at you for however long, and it's supposed to make you feel better because you no longer have that weight on your back, regardless of who you're telling it to. It certainly doesn't work that way for everyone, but it does work for some.
They're called secrets for a reason
By that logic, it's called "Postsecret" for a reason. To post secrets. Judging by the rest of your post, you seem to be under the impression that Postsecret is about posting other people's secrets. It's about telling your own secrets, not what other people have confied in you.
 20. I haven't been playing nearly as much as I should be. No one wants to play with me, and I kind of got burnt out on playing against computers with Melee. To further complicate that, my school's internet refuses to allow Wii's to get online. My best character is Marth, though I'm still rusty from not playing with him for a few years. I'm also playing a lot with Roy, Luigi, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, and Ganondorf (who's always been my favorite to play, and I usually only bust out Marth when I'm up against somebody who knows what they're doing). I've probably spent most of my time on Ollimar. I will master him if it's the last thing I do, damn it!
 21.
Schools are universal too, and no one says that is communist either.
Yes they do. That's pretty much the rallying cry for those who want privitization of education.
 22.
No, you sound pretty normal to me.
He sounds like both. In terms of the types of girls I go for, there isn't any sort of pattern. It seems my tastes are incredibly chaotic. As for a realationship, the only mandatory is a level of intelligence near my own. Not too much smarter than me, not too much dumber than me. If I can't talk to a girl on her own level, I don't see much future for any relationship.
 23. First, to be absolutely sure, put her and a duck on a giant set of scales. If she weighs as much as said duck, burn her.
 24.
Second, he quoted you on a prior statement:
Actually, Morpheus was quoting himself there.
 25. Whoever made my image has earned my eternal admiration.
