I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)
second of all why haven't you shown a picture of yourself "o mighty lunox."
http://www.otakuboards.com/showpost.php?p=779068&postcount=56 http://www.otakuboards.com/showpost.php?p=796951&postcount=247 It would appear that the "mighty lunox" has shown a picture of herself. Several, in fact. -
I have met two people from OB. The first was Cruiz. This was several years ago, when I was around 15 or so. In hindsight, not the brightst move (although I never actually told him where I lived; Shift decided that he would divulge that information on his own), but I wasn't raped and murdered so I gues it turned out alright. It was fun. More recently, I metup with Shy and that was amazing. We bought comic books.
At the moment, I must say I'm rather disappointed with the direction of Otakupedia and several other features that have appeared on OB lately. I feel that those features are focusing more so on the negativity of banned members and bad history as oppose to the many contributions that many former staff members have done for this site.
Out of more than one hundred Otakupedia articles, there are maybe 15 that focus on banned members and "bad history." I can see around 50 articles alone that focus on staff members or prominant members (most of which are very positive), and nearly ever other article is about a contribution. I'm also not aware of any other OB feature that has anything to do with banned members or history. I'm not sure where you're coming from with that.
Which is why I view others as extensions of myself :p
I feel sullied.
It's hard to find anyone who you can zero out ans 'individual' when it comes to msuic. This is what I see anyways.
Everyone can be zeroed out as an individual when it comes to music. Enjoying popular music doesn't negate individuality.
Mainstream, is asociated with the word's 'same thing.' And if we were mainstream, wouldn't we all be alike? But because every human is different, there is really no such thing as being mainstream.
... what? Mainstream is associated with popularity. I don't know how "same thing" comes into it, aside from many people having to like the same thing for it to become mainstream. But even then, not everybody has to agree, it just has to be a significant number of people. It has to be a dominant opinion.
I don't pay attention to your posts, dude. Some members, including you, I ignore becuase we don't get along. And you didn't have to repeat yourself, cause I don't care anyways. What I said was different form yours. I believe in individuasm, and you don't. That's your opinion, and frankly what you said isn't going to change mine.
First, I don't know how you know what Korey said to you if you ignore his posts. Second, you claim to ignore his posts (in which you specifically seem to be referring to the part he repeated), but at the same time claim to have read the first post. However, and this is interesting, the part Korey repeated was in the first post. You're pretty much claiming to have ignored a post and not ignored it at the same time. Which is it? I'm guessing the former, because Korey never actually said he didn't believe in individualism. True, I can understand initial confusion, as the statement "there is no Mainstream or Individualism period" was poorly worded, but the context of the rest of the post should make it clear what was meant: there is no such thing as totally mainstream or total individualism, as everyone likes something popular and everyone's interests are their own.
And yeah, I'm young, I may be good with grammer and stuff of the like,
Do you honestly only do exactly what you want without any influence from others whatsoever?
Nobody does that. But nobody. Everyone has been influenced to some degree by someone else, whether it be because of someone close to them or because of sociological currents that have been in motion for thousands of years. Case in point: you wear whatever your mother buys you. Barring the "nature versus nuture" question for a moment, you are allowing her to choose your clothes. You may choose to do it, but she's still influencing you on what you wear.
... if you have even the slightest reservation, then you can't honestly say that you do whatever you want.
Unless the reservation is because the action is something one doesn't want to do. Or, perhaps, if the ation will possibly result in an undesired consequence.

How Did You Come Up With Your Screenname?
Nerdsy replied to duorocks17's topic in General Discussion
Either way, it's original.
It's hardly original, especially considering we've had at least one prominent member with that name before. As for me? Process of elimination. -
For the record: A holla back girl is essentially a girl a guy calls irregularly for the sex. I'll leave it to you to decode the etymology of it all.
That's one definition, and the definition least applicable to her usage of it. For her song, a "hollaback girl" is a girl who, when insulted, won't insult back. Instead, she'll fight or something.
Now if you'll excuse me I'll be listening to 2112 and reassuring myself that people who listen to mainstream music can be likened to enjoying having sandpaper scraped across their eardrums.
It's hard to get more mainstream than Rush.
meh i suppose. why would u use a cane if you could have a claymore or a walter p-38.
Because of their inherent lameness and inferierority to canes. You can keep your brutish, unsophisticated weapons. Give me elegance any day.
i mean cmon... unless you need a reason for it.. wtf no need.
Canes are bitchin'. That's a good enough reason.
They say we post to little or not enough info. People are not machines and some of us can't type a full 3-4 paragraph post. I say if you give a reason why your post was short or don't put info that is needed, that should surfice for that one post but you can't do it with every post. Maybe a few per week or something like that.
Machines can't write at all. And writing a long post is not hard. If you start and find that you have writer's block after a paragraph or two, save what you've written and come back to it later.

NAMBLA: How far can you stretch the first ammendment
Nerdsy replied to Starwind's topic in General Discussion
And just to throw my two cents in, I think we should round up all these guys and just castrat them and turn it into the North American My Balls Lack Attachment Association. You wouldn't even have to change the letter head.
Yes they would. That second title adds an extra "A," making it NAMBLAA. As for the topic...
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
That is the text of the First Amendment. There are restrictions, but all of thoses involve the infringment of other's rights: none of them would restrict NAMBLA's right to preach pedophillia. Now, these pamphlets on how to commit crimes, on the other hand, are a different story, and I doubt they're protected. -
I was looking up hentai a few days ago, and there was a real porn image and it said virs warning, but my computer said that nothing was there later on. So just because your comp has a virus, doens't mean the virus IS going to hurt your computer, or yourself so to say.
From your description here, that sounds like it was just a pop-up or an add, which don't actually scan your computer for viruses. It was probably just bait.

None of my fears or interests are strong enough to be classified as either phobias or phillias, though I do have them. I am agraid of social interaction and the embarassment that arises from it. I do it all the time, though, and while I don't enjoy it I'm not about to freak out while doing it. Heights get me too, but not so bad. I've jumped off cliff faces before with nothing but water to break my fall, and I love rock climbing. I'm also afraid situations that I ave no knowledge of how to handle... new things, essentially, but it's more specific than that. Like, I dislike eating at new places because I don't know what I wnat to order. Again, easily controlled.
-
No, I found your point quite fast, I was just justifying it. I'm hypocritical, yes this I have found out, but I'd rather be a hypocrite, than keep all my knowledge to myself.
Justifying a stereotype with more stereotypes? Methinks you don't hate steterotypes at all - just the ones applied to you by people you don't like. By the way, congratulations on intimately knowing every human on the planet.
-
Well most people in this day and age, do not want to have anything to do with "uncool" people, or people they just in general don't like. Normally they become scared when they find out that some person, whom they hate or dislike for whatever reason, start to seem much like themselves. So, to avoid their "friends" finding out that they may be emo, nerdish, or whatever, they start to put the other person in a different group than themselves, and try to draw an imaginary line between them. People in this day and age don't care about friendship anymore (a few select people do anymore, so why count the .01%?) all they care about is fame, money, sex, and/or drugs. Feel free to question me, or correct me if you want on this as well.
I think you might not have gotten my point. I was pointing out that you claimed to "hate anything along the lines of stereotypes," and immiediately after saying that you stereotyped a group of people.
-
They are pointless labels that ignorant people use to divide themselves from people they don't like.
THat's an interesting stereotype you've got there.
