Probably is, and I never said they couldn't practice a religion. As long as they did not mention it during their campaign or while in office then they can practice it all they wish on their own time and still be a politician.
Free excercise doesn't always protect practice, which is why polygamy isn't legal in most places. It does, however, protect speech in all cases. Same with the first ammendment. You shouldn't lose your right to talk about your religion just because of your job; it's discriminatory. Besides, you want them to practice? What of the religions that require it's members to spread the word? Last church I belonged to, I don't remember which domination, said a silent Christian isn't a true Christian.
Absurd. Any that do mention religion or try to use it as a selling point for their campaign should be immediately removed from the running due to a violation of the separation of church and state.
That sounds like a violation of the Free Excercise Clause.
But for someone who hasn't gone to college before... duh... I'm a bit worried about people. I'm used to being insulted or shunned in school by people who don't know me, and I won't know anyone in college. Does anyone know what kind of attitude I should expect? 'cause I'm rather paranoid about the whole new people... thing...
This may not be true elsewhere, especially where you're from, but in my experience the shunning is not nearly as prevalent. It still happens, but it's nowhere near the norm. College folk are, for the most part, pretty open and accepting. Just be ready for a whole lot of pretention.

Nerds vs Otakus: How to tell the difference
I'm pretty sure I did not say one could not have a deeper relationship without sex.
You said something along the lines about how sex is just as important as other aspects of arelationship. Following that logic, if something like simple attraction is absolutley necissary for a relationship (ignoring things like arranged marriage here because I consider them different), than sex is just as necissary, for they are both equal in importance. If this is not where you were going with that, my apologies.
Mind you, I said "sex and physical contact", because I'm aware that not everybody are capable of the actual intercourse.
Well, you said "sex and physical contact," meaning you need both to move beyond caring friendship. Did you mean "sex or just physical contact?"
Otherwise there wouldn't be a discussion and hence there is no need to explain why Sandy or anyone else was saying it probably wouldn't be more than a caring friendship.
The whole purpose of my question was to see just how far they're taking this logic, which included going beyond just the cases of abstinence (I was careful to completely avoid the subject in my post). There was, of course, no need. It was just something I wanted to know.

To those who say that sex is an essential part of a romantic relationship, I have to ask: do you believe that that relationships are impossible for those who cannot have sex? I'm specifically thinking of, say, paraplegics, although there are certainly others. Is love out of their reach, and can they only befriend? And what of the case of those in a successful, romantic relationship that become paralyzed? Does the relationship automatically go back to a "caring friendship," or is sex only important in the intial stages?
I don't play GH, but I probably won't get the second for a few reasons. Reason one is I don't own a PS2 or a 360. Reason two is even if I had either system, I wouldn't play it because it is missing the best(AC/DC, Metallica.) and has... uugh... Nickelback.
Scrubs The Todd would response something like this "Dude you just totally insinuated by extention that I'm doing your mom." Well, maybe he wouldn't use works like insinuated or extention, but you get my point.
Well, at this point, who isn't doing my mom? By the way, enjoy your newfound syphillis!
That is totally a topic that needs to go up on Group Sounds. I say your momma jokes are the corner stone of all other high school insults, and when used correctly, can be absolutely retort-proof. Do you need language to maintain your culture?
Nerdsy replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
By definition, language is an essential part of culture. (Source, Specifically the only definition for the American Heritage New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, though there are plenty more there that help my case). With that in mind, if the language of a culture is changed than it is not maintained; the said culture has been altered on a fundamental level. This could obviously be taken to extremes, but I'm not going to get into that. So yes, I'd say one needs language to maintain a culture. -
I said that I was feeling a little dissipointed that "Justice Leauge" may of been canceled. The girl next to him said that a friend of hers does a few voices of that show. "Who? I asked interested. "I don't think you heard of him." She said. "But his name's Chrispin." I spat out my water all over the sidewalk in surprise. "Wait..Chrispin? CHRISPIN FREEMAN!?!" I smirked as I watch the horror slowly dawn on my son?s face. I had never imagined that he would learn the truth; that the sultry terrorist was his biological mother. He stammered at me. Wha... why.... how? I sent her into the future too. Splicing genes is more complicated than one might think; I needed two whole Otakubots dedicated to conceiving and raising you. Once I found a suitable genetic candidate, it was a simple matter of acquiring her DNA, implanting it into the Mother Model, and sending her into the future to... er... splice with N-Man. But not before we were married! the Rai clone piped in, beaming. Premarital splicing is a sin in the eyes of the Lord! Remember that, dear. She pinched Nomura?s cheek; Nomura blushed furiously and stared at me pointedly. Why is she acting like that? Nomura asked me, clearly puzzled. Just my little joke. You?re a twisted guy, Dad. Why did you do all this? When the Beast returned, I realized that Charlie was growing desperate. I thought it would only be a matter of time before he decided to resurrect the most horrible weapon in the history of Otaku City: the Kuja Virus. I needed a cure, and I needed it fast. My DNA had proven resistant to the Virus in the past; I just needed to find somebody with a complimentary genetic code. I scanned friend and foe for the perfect DNA, but it wasn?t until Rai revealed herself as a drag king that I found it. I procured a sample, and sent the Mother Model into the future to join N-Man. My son scoffed at me, clearly unimpressed with my grandiose and convoluted plan. The future? Isn?t that kind of... stupid? You had no idea what danger I could have been in. I mean, just look at this place! You?re the most irresponsible parent in the history of Otaku City. His accusations stunned me, and I felt anger swell up within me. How dare he question my actions? Total destruction was imminent, and I had to do something. I didn?t have any time; this was the best option available too me. I had tried to give him a good childhood; I even crafted two parents who would love him. Had I not done the best I could under the circumstances? I... I thought sending you to the past would have corrupted you; I thought it would be better to risk it on the unknown. It seems I was partially right, too; you were somehow stolen from the past, and look at you. A terrorist and an assassin. Made your mother proud, didn?t you? I?d rather impress a mother who didn?t know I existed than a father who didn?t care. We began to glare at each other; gradually, I became aware of the Rai Otakubot humming a merry tune. She caught my eye and gestured towards the now lukewarm cookies. Nomura collapsed in a seat. Jesus... I?m exhausted. All this exposition at once is tiring. You said you didn?t take the DNA until after she revealed she was a woman? How? We were never aware of the two of you having any contact; did she willingly meet with you to provide you with material? No.... no, I doubt she has the slightest clue that you?re her son. I doubted that she?d willingly give me her DNA; fortunately for me, I had already had an inside man - er, woman. I believe you knew her? You mean... Madhat? Yes, the first of my Otakubots. I?m pretty proud of her. I frowned. When did I become so dishonest and manipulative? I thought to myself. Is this because of the terrorists? Did I gaze too long into the abyss? I can?t believe it. It was because of you that our temple was destroyed? There?s more of me in you than you think, Ploppy. How many Otakubots do you have, anyway? Four. There?s the Father and Mother models here, designed specifically for raising a child. They?re pretty stripped down; all their weapons have been removed, and replaced with... well, things parents need. You know, diaper dispensers and stuff like that. Then, of course, there?s Madhat, designed for infiltration. Unfortunately, her body was destroyed in the explosion. Ironic, no? And the fourth? Well, the last and greatest of my Otakubots is possibly the most advanced Otakubot in existence. She?s my pride and joy; my magnum opus, my Sergeant Pepper?s. She... A noise in the distance made me freeze. No. I couldn?t believe it. It had to be wrong; the alternative was unthinkable. I saw N-Man tense up as the sound grew louder. Even the Mother Model?s smile faltered; the only one who did not appear worried was Nomura. I rounded on N-Man, screaming. WHY DIDN?T YOU TELL ME? I?M A BEACON TO THEM! THEY CAN SENSE THOSE THAT USED TO BE MODS; HELL, I STILL CARRY MY ITEM OF POWER! I?VE LED THEM RIGHT TO US! Uh... Dad? What?s wrong? [kuja]like omg... lol[/kuja] I felt the color flee from my face; there was no mistaking it now. They were right at the door. Somehow, they had managed to get down the elevator shaft; they were craftier than I remembered. N-Man, we need to leave, now. Is there a back way? Yes, master. Angel, get Rufus, and lead them away. I will hold them off. The Mother Model scampered into a back room, returning with a small child in her arms. I turned again to N-Man. You can?t hold them off for long, you know. You aren?t built to fight. It does not matter; I have a duty to protect our son. N-Man, this is madness. No, master. This is Otaku City. I smiled; it was best to leave it at that. We fled, following the Mother Model to the alternate exit; another elevator. The sounds of muzak filled our ears, although they were unable to drown out the sounds of the battle raging below. Nomura again confronted me. You named me Rufus? I thought it was appropriate, given the circumstances.
I can do the exact same thing by looking at the title, or listening to the stardate if it pops up at the beginning and I'm 15 =p.

Are you seriously comparing using episode titles to using hairstyles? I mean, stardates, yeah, that's impressive, but episode titles are easy. And to continue this one-upsmanship, I often know exactly what episode I'm watching just from the inflection in Picard's voice when he says "Captain's Log." Sometimes I also need "Stardate," but only if it's an episode I'm not fond of. And to keep from derailing this thread, I'm also pretty proud of my wicked Guitar Hero skills. I mean, I'm not the best, but I'm pretty freakin' awesome. I just can't nail those damn pull-offs....
It is not one's place to decide when one shall leave this world.
Why?
However, one never knows when one is supposed to die until after one dies, so if you take your own life five minitues before it would have expired anyway, doesn't that mean that you were supposed to take your own life?
I'd go a bit farther than that.
