Tell that to the Trekkies. :p ~Dagger~
Dude, "Trekkie" is not the preferred nomenclature. "Trekker," please. ; )
I think the art for Lupin the Third is atrocious (i haven't seen the show so I can't pass full judgement).
Keep in mind Lupin the Third is a 36 year old anime, so it's bound to look like crap compared to modern animes. I'm assuming the series you're most familiar with is the second, because it was the one broadcast on CN. It was made from 1977 to 1980, so even that is incredibly old.
The problem I often run into with attempting to call an anime show the worst ever is often my reasons for disliking one are personal preference and not an indication that the show is actually bad.
That's all anyone has to go on, though. "Good" and "bad" is simply a matter of opinion. As far as worst animes ever go? I have two, but I can only remember the name of one of them. The Hakkenden was an absolutely terrible anime. The subsequent events often felt disonnected, the characters were poorly done, and the animation kept switching styles. This eclectism eventually caused one of the episodes to be the worst looking animation I have ever seen. It was so bad, I coudln't tell what was happening, made worse because all the chracters in that episode looked the same. It was maddening! The other was some generic sentai-esque anime, where the characters were empty shells and the plot was asinine. I'm actually glad I don't remember it.
However, it is inferred that Kaito Nakamura [underline]MAY[/underline'] have a power. It's also inferred that he might be Kensei which would basically make Kaito immortal. This inference came from a discussion board. The post can be found here: Link
What's this EPK they're talking about? EDIT: Also, more evidence that [strike]Sulu[/strike] Kaito
may be Kensei. Here is one of the official Heroes websites, and when you hover over the picture of Kensei, the text "Kaito Nakamura" pops up.

Didn't Sylar paint something right before he went off to go "save the world" or whatever it was he thought he was going to do? I clearly remember something like that. Then again, I could just be mixing it up with a previous scene.
[/color']
I believe he painted
himself and Peter standing in front of the fountain, right before their "fight."

Short of saying
"Your dad had superpowers, Nathan m'boy", he couldn't have made it any more obvious, methinks. He seemed to talk about it in the same manner as he had about his old 'supergroup'
too.
But he didn't say
"Your dad had superpowers, Nathan m'boy." More importantly, we haven't seen Dallas with any superpowers. What Linderman said, "someone with great power," may be simply in a metaphorical sense. Dallas was a high-profile defense attourney, after all, that could hold a lot of sway. Further, this quote came from an unreliable source and may be an out-right lie; Linderman is a master manipulator, and he could simply have been planting suggestions into Nathan's head. The whole thing is vague enough that it might be a red herring on the part of the writers, although I doubt it. And just because Linderman had allies with powers does not mean that all his allies had powers. ; )

All animation is technically anime. The Japanese took the word "animation," transliterated it, and shortened it to anime. They refer to all animation as anime. We took it and we use it almost exclusively as referring to "animation from Japan," but it's at best slang and thus the definition is going to vary from place to place.
-
Well, they already said that
Dallas had a power. I'm not sure who, but i think it was his wife who said this to Nathan.[/spoiler']
I mentioned it it my last post; it was
Linderman, but he didn't explicitly state it. He was hinting at it heavily, but "someone with great power" could mean something else. I'm absolutely sure he meant a superpower, though.

Question: Why did
Nathan have to fly Peter away just to have them both die? Why couldn't Claire just shoot him if he was going to die anyway? Or did Nathan drop Peter in space so that they could both survive?

It's more compelling that way. : p
On second thought,
if Claire had shot Peter in the back of the head, he would have died, but the explosion would be stopped.

Hypothetically. There was no guarantee. Yes,
Ted died without going nuclear, but he wasn't in the middle of a meltdown. Nathan was probably both trying to keep on the "safe" side as well as keep his daughter from shooting her hero in the face.

New Question: Why couldn't
Peter have just flown himself?
Possible Answer: He could have been
way too distracted by his body exploding and thus unable to concentrate....

He mentioned that he couldn't do anything. Whatever the reason, it seems he just wasn't able to fly.

This thread is turning into one big black box, heh. Okay, my thoughts regarding nearly everything. Charles:
Charles definately has a power, he wouldn't be able to see Peter if he didn't. I have two theories regarding what it is, one of which has been stated here before. either he's a power mimic, like Peter, or he has the ability to plant visions in other people's heads, like Sanjog. I'm currently leaning more towards the the visions theory, as that would explain all the "precognition" that Peter's been having. Of course, considering the things he said, it's also possible that he can merely recognize another person's powers.
Kaito:
I've heard theories that he is Kensei, which I've been suspecting since he revealed his ability to swordfight. I'm not putting all my faith into this, though; while it is a possiblity, it feels like a longshot. Kensei is hinted to have powers, though, and Kaito mentions that he has been waiting a "long time..."
Claude:
Sylar didn't take his powers. At least, we can't say he did based on the evidence we have. Sylar sneaks around using his telekenesis; also, if he were merely invisible, Peter would have seen him. Remember, he's managed to sneak up on people with superhearing, and this was when Claude was still alive.
Dallas Petrelli:
Maybe he has a power. Linderman referred to him as "someone with great power," but that's no guarantee. There's simply too little information to go on right now.
Okay, though, here's what I want to know.
How did the conspiracy know that Peter was going to asplode? Clearly they have either a precog or a time traveler. Charles may fit the bill for precog (assuming for the moment that my "vision" theory is correct), but it could also be one of the Petrellis. Or for that matter, Kaito. Or it could be someone completely different.

All my regular away messages are song quotes. Sometimes they'll be specific; for instance, when I'm watching House my away message is "House." Also, when I'm sick or something, I'm usually begging for pity via away messages. Although there is this one, which I enjoy immenesly. "The hill are alive with the sound of music, and it is seriously creeping me out."

Spoiler link, kinda. He's made sporadic appearences throughout the series, mostly in the form of artwork, but in one of the comics, he
actually interacted with Mister Isaac. He could just be a hallucination, though. He was also mentioned by DL in the sixth episode.

Anyone want to take bets on
who this guy is that's worse than Sylar? My bet is Uluru. I've been waiting for him to show up in the show for a while now.

-
I was thinking about it a little more, Raiyuu, and I realized that
even if DL is dead, Sylar may take his power. I mean, that's how it works; he has to kill them first anyway, so assuming that decomposition can make the process impossible, he's still got a while before he can't take DL's power.

-
We don't actually know
if DL is dead yet. He's been shot, yes, but we didn't see him die, and it's possibly he could get to safety. Unlikely, I say, but still possible.

This isn't a parody of Obama, this is a parody of a criticism of Obama. Columnist David Ehrenstein (who is a black man, by the way) called Obama this in a clumn he wrote. Limbaugh thought it was funny, decided to get a crappy Al Sharpton impersonator, and put it to music. That being said, it's still a racist song. Even if we are to throw away the "magic negro" bit, there's still a reference to CPT in there that is unquestionably racist and not present in Ehrensetin's article. I'm not one for censorship, however, so he can keep on saying what he wants. If his audience gets tired of crap like this (which they won't, considering Limbaugh's core audience), then he'll get thrown off the air for low ratings. If they don't, he'll keep saying what he wants to say. I couldn't care either way. Besdies, Paul Shanklin's parodies suck. They certainly don't deserve this level of attention.

Favorite Character: As in, favorite character, or favorite character to play as? I'll do both. My favorite is Faust, because he is made of win and god. He's just so crazy, he's impossible not to love. My favorite to play as is Potemkin, because he's a freaking monster. I love playing as the big, hulking types, and I've got the uppercut-flying grab thing combo down pat. Backup Character: I don't have one. I don't need one. I've never been beaten when I use Potemkin, with the exception of that time I was playing on an arcade machine. The joystick threw me off, and I couldn't get him to do anything. Also, I can be beaten when somebody uses certain gold characters against me, like Sol. Barely, though; it often comes down to a "both will die if hit once" scenario. If I want the same kind of dominance I have using all gold characters, there's a variety I'm so far unbeatable as. Sol Badguy, Zappa, Slayer, maybe a couple more. Best game: Guilty Gear XX. Looks better than the original, sounds better, and I enjoy the movesets more. All the successive games have felt like they lost something. do I play online?: No. I play the PS2 version of XX. I also don't have X-Box live.
As for Lunox?s question. I would think that because abortion is all about killing the fetus and disposing of it, then the scientists could use it to get some stem cells before trashing it. But then again this me saying it, so it?s a bit elementary. [/COLOR']
This feels like a problem with semantics. By your explanation here, you're saying that abortion would be better if it were used for stem cell research instead of abortion for abortion's sake, which I'm sure is what you mean. What you said earlier was that stem cell research itself is better than abortion, implying on some level that there's a choice between the two, which I'm pretty sure was just a misspeak. If I'm correct, is where the confusion is setting in.

She may pop up, Nehszriah. Solicitations for the next episode talk about an Asian woman of the same age group showing up. She'd be slightly older than any of the heroes, but she might still be grouped with them. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

[COLOR=#656446
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves: R Can't have Doc and the Queen's cauldron get away with it now, can we? That's some interesting logic.
']I am going to start smoking because of this thread.
See? This is why we need this!
Just because there is smoking in a movie does not[/COLOR'] mean that the childern watching ar going to smoke.
Yes, it does. I'm not saying it's a guarantee, or that it's widespread or the norm, but it is a factor. I can attest to that; when I was a kid, I thought Groucho Marx was the coolest mofo on the planet. I wanted to be like him, so I took to pretending I was smoking cigars by putting a pencil or something in my mouth. And I'll tell you, if I had a real cigar I would have smoked it while cracking wise. I'm older and wiser now, but back then the only thing that saved me was my lack of ability to get a cigar.
We all, I think, decided to smoke (or not) because we wanted to, not because of the movies. Am I right?
My eventual decision not to smoke is based in part upon negative portrayals in films and television; the Smoking Man and Constantine come to mind. I also know someone who tried to quit after watching Constantine. The addiction has proven to be too strong for him so far, but he's still trying, and it was all started by that movie. Besdies, they're not cutting smoking from movies. They're just going to rate them differently. Which makes me curious; do any of you naysayers think that we should abolish the ratings system entirely because movies don't influence people? That's what the entire thing is for; to keep things like sex and violence from influencing kids.
What about all those other kickass guys who don't smoke in the movies? Are you trying to tell me, Boo, that even though the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles don't smoke, when a kid sees Indiana Jones light up, it becomes ok to smoke? Thats a 4:1 ratio against smoking, brought to you by the movies. That's got to be one BADASS "1".[/FONT']
That's an overly simplistic analogy. First, it assumes that all kids watch both Ninja Turtles and Indiana Jones, which is simply not true. There are kids out there who are only going to get one side of it. Second, kids the absence of smoking does not counter-act the presence of smoking. Kids probably aren't even going to notice when a character never smokes; I know I don't. They're not going to think, "Oh, that guys baddass because he doesn't smoke," and try to emulate that. Only if the chracters they watch actually say not to smoke will it have any sort of effect, and even that hardly ever works. Third, you're ignoring the whole desire to be an adult that hits kids around age 10 or so. Most adaptations of the Turtles do not scream adult; Indiana Jones, however, is a fully grown man. He's gong to hold a lot more sway over the "I'm an adult, damnit!" crowd of kids than a bunch of anthropomorphic turtles. And fianlly, while I don't explicitly recall the Turtles smoking (I believe the do somewhere, though), the first live-action movie has kids smoking. I wonder how many kids saw that, and thought "wow, that kid is freakin' cool! I should skateboard and smoke."

The way I see it, if Hiro doesn't act any different from the way he would have acted before, the original timeline would occur... so Hiro is the one that will change everything, even if it's only by inspiring others.
-r2

Well, if you want to continue further down the chain... Hiro wouldn't have done much of what he's done without Mr. Isaac's paintings. He likely never would have learned about Claire (not counting furture Hiro here, obviously), never would have gone for the sword. Most of Hiro's actions are a direct result of Mr Isaac, so we could say that he changed the furture by inspiring Hiro. ; ) Also, good knews! It seems they're scrapping the "new season, new cast" idea.
Here ya go. You mentioned a little later that you wanted some information on past iterations of the banner contest. Here's what I remember about the v2 banner contest, which as far as I know was the first one. Hopefully it will help. It was sometime in early v2, and Adam had members submit their entries for the official banner. For a short while, their was a new banner a day (starting with thimoc's entry), before Adam settled on transtic nerve's banner, which was an image of EVA-01. Also, there were a couple more articles written that haven't been included. I'll go ahead and link those too.
Genetic sequences exposed to UV light causes mutations in the arrangement of the bases, often eliminating entire sequences resulting in a mutated expression, often resulting in cancerous growth or deactivation of cellular function. [Typically: Yay! Skin cancer!] Exposure to various chemicals used in laboratories for Agarose gel electrophoresis [for gene sequencing], will result in mutations. Substances such as Ethidium Bromide, which is used as an intercalating agent in the previously mentioned Electrophoresis, are known as mutagens.
That's all well and good, but we're talking about evolution here, and the mutations relevant to evolution are not caused by outside sources. We don't pass down cancer to our offspring, which is a must for evolution. I'm less familiar with mutagens, but if they are not passed down from generation to generation (which I'm assuming is the case), then they're not relevant either. Of course, there's cloning, where we can hypothetically decide what genes an offspring, but like I said, humans are a wild card due to their inelligence.
