"Rick Hunter (who closely resembled Boris from "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show") had a vast knowledge of anime and could have been a significant member of OtakuBoards had he not been crazy." I see we're not very worried about keeping a neutral point of view. : ) Did some research. thimoc's new name was Mad Acer. Also, we really need an article on the biggest lurker in the board's history, masterfork. All I remember of him is the quote "IT TO EAT BABIES!" And I have no idea what the context was. -
It's not so much being single as it is have been single for 16 years. I've had enough patience to the point where i'm fed up. I've tried pulling myself out of them, but it's like quicksand for me.
Now that's just focusing on semantics. I may not have explicitly stated it the same as you, but I've read your posts and I know what you're talking about. My stance does not change. Besdies, saying you've been single for 16 years is an exaggeration. Sure, you have been, but only a few of those have actually been dating years. Most 8-year-olds don't actually date. They just pretend. And saying you're tired of patience is just showing a lack of patience. Keep in mind that I'm not saying that patience will solve your problems. You'll always have problems, and many of them will be a lot worse than this. However, almost none of them will be easy to solve (including this one), and without a good deal of patience you'll end up making them a lot worse.
And that whole "It could be worse" argument doesn't fly with me. It could be better too.
You're never going to find a situation that can't be made better. If you adhere to that standard, then you'll always be "emo." That being said, being single at sixteen isn't nearly that bad. It's all just angst. You're a teenager, and part of being a teenager is dealing with rampant angst. The only way to battle it is to have patience.
I myself dont care about the words "In God We Trust" because God can be used for anything religion.
Not all religions believe in a god. Certain branches of Buddhism, for one. Siddhartha Gautama (the founder of Buddhism) himself said that the gods that existed aren't gods in the "divine" sense, but that's probably just semantics. Still, he taught that they shouldn't be trusted, so I still count it. That being said, I understand what you mean.
It could be worse. I remember a couple years ago this lady decided she wanted to try and get the Christ in Christmas removed and just make it Xmas. Obviously it didn't go over too well since she had no right doing that, it being a Christian holiday and all. :p[/FONT']
That wouldn't actually "remove the Christ from Christmas." The "X" in Xmas actually means "Christ." http://www.starstuffs.com/xmas/xmas.html Of course, she probably meant it to.

Where was this five years ago, when I still called myself the Otaku Historian and still remembered all this stuff! [begin] thimoc Thimoc was one of the most notable early members of the boards. Having joined during the early months of V1, he quickly made a name for himself with his offbeat (and often nonsensical) humor. After IM_GENGAR had left the board, thimoc found himself with no competition for top poster and subsequently hit nearly every posting milestone during the V1/V2 era. He was the first to reach 2000, 3000, and 4000 posts, and was the only member to hit 4000 before the post counts were reset. It should also be noted that most, if not all, of his posts would be considered spam today. Like most of the prominent members during V1, thimoc eventually turned on the very boards he frequented. Fed up with the sudden enforecment of rules brought about by the wave of new moderators, thimoc began rebuking all authority and mass-spammed the forums. This caused his account to be deleted, effectively giving the status of top poster to another would-be spammer, Ulitmia.[/end] That should be checked for accuracy, and I have no idea what happened to thimoc afterwards, so if anyone knows anything notable, that would help. Also, I feel I should request a section for notable spammers, such as Big Poppa Hump, SSJ4 Gokou/Altron Gundam/Flame of Recca, will2x, and whoever I'm forgetting. I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but kuji-wuji's original handle was osu_waterpolo. Possibly oso_waterpolo, but I'm leaning on the former. -
Oh Sara. Must you make me remember my fantasies? Alyson Hannigan as Willow is at the very top of any list I could ever hope to make, including "What's my favorite type of sock." That's how much I am in love with her. She is simply way too freaking cute, and a helluva nerd. If you can't tell, nerdiness is a big turn-on for me. And look! She dressed up as an Eskimo for a costume party! A freakin' Eskimo! Robin Wright as Princess Buttercp is the only one on my list who's more there for her looks than her personality. Don't get me wrong, Buttercup is just fine but... she's kinda bland. Sure, the level of devotion would be nice, but sometimes I'd prefer Fezzicks charm or Inigo's wit Then again, that would be weird. Joan Cusack as Geek Girl #1 is an interesting choice; all I know about her personality comes from her actions, as I don't believe she ever speaks a line in that movie. Still, she's just so freaking adorable that I have to like her. Last, but by no means least, there's David Bowie as anything he's ever been, ever. Look at him, and gaze upon perfection. He wonderful. He's incredible. What's more, he's attractive to both genders, and all orientations; he transcends gender. He is sexy personified. Everyone is attracted to Bowie. If you say you're not, you're either lying or you haven't come across the right Bowie yet. If the latter is true, I suggest finding the right one, for without, you life just isn't complete.

I wouldn't call any of the movies I saw mentioned "kid's movies". To me, a kid's movie would be somthing like a Veggietales movie, or that Barney movie from a while ago. I see all of these as family movies. But yeah, I'll watch them. I'm a Disney-aholic, and you'll be hard-pressed to keep me away from The Neverending Story.

I really like Supertramp, but no one I know's heard of them. Don't have the slightest clue if they''re well known elsewhere, heh. Also, one that I haven't heard a lot about is Junior Senior. I supposed not many people really would, as they are a techno/dance band, I guess. Anyway, Supertramp is easily my favorite band... They have such a wide range of sound. "Bloody Well Right" and "Goodbye Stranger" sound completely different, and I love when a band can do that. Not to mention that "The Logical Song" is probably the greatest song ever written.

I'd say the vast majority of them are crooks anyway. Bull-headed, too. Can't stand the hypocrisy of that guy behind the 700 Club. Without someone to listen to, they have no voice. Well, I imagine my first kiss will be horribly awkward. I'm just going to try and put off the hole thing for as long as I can. Which can be a very long time, I assure you. It's one time I'm thankful for being the world's strongest woman repellant. Of course, that might be the excuse my subconcious comes up with to protect my fragile ego.

Brave Heart Lion trudged along the path, singing merrily. "A peanut sat on a railroad track, his heart was all a flutter! Along came a choo-choo train and TOOT! TOOT! Peanut butter! Wait, that songs not very happy at all..." At this, he stopped to think of a more cheerful song, and realized that someone was yelling at him and pulling on his shoulder. "... for happiness sakes, Brave Heart, snap out of it! Come and look at Funshine!" Bubbly Bear cried, nearly frothing at the mouth. Brave Heart looked back, and noticed the panic that was setting in. He hurried over to the crowd and pushed himself through. "What's wrong with him?" Brave Heart inquired. "I don't know!" Grumpy yelled, spitting all over the golden lion. "Secret Bear just found him like this. He's not responding to anything we do, and just started crying while you were off crooning to the world!" Brave Heart seemed to either not realize that he was being yelled at, or simply didn't care. He walked up to the nigh comatose Funshine Bear and picked him up off of the ground. "Brave Heart, what in Carehalla are you doing! Put him down!" cried Grumpy frantically, upset that his unwanted authority wasn't working. "Funshine! What's wrong?" roared the lion, shaking Funshine as if the bear was a rattle. "Wake up, buddy!" As he was shaking poor Funshine, he stepped on a sharp rock and let out an ear-splitting roar that caused all the bears and cousins around him to cover their ears and hit the ground. Funshine blinked once, then twice. A large smile spread over his face. "Why, what's the matter, Brave Heart? Did you hurt yourself?" All at once, a rush of color spread across Funshine's body. This surprised Brave Heart, as he didn't even notice that Funshine was to dull. "Funshine! You're okay!" exclaimed Love-a-Lot, ignoring the ringing in her ears. "Of course I'm okay," Funshine replied cheerfully. "Why wouldn't I be?" "You tell us!" Grumpy yelled, "you're the one that stopped in the middle of the road and stopped talking to us!" "Oh, I did stop, didn't I?" Funshine said thoughtfully. "I just felt upset at something, and had to sit down for a minute. But as soon as Brave Heart let out that yell, I felt fine!" "Well, if you're okay, then we can get going!" roared Brave Heart, and he started marching up the path again. "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down, I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down..." Grumpy sighed. "I swear, if I have to end up listening to that buffoon sing this entire adventure, I'm going to do just what Funshine did. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one that caused it!" With that, the group continued their search for for Treat Heart Pig. Leading the way was Brave Heart, who did not seem to notice the small patch of gray on his left paw...

"Groan... where am I?" Brave Heart Lion woke up slowly. The world around him was, for some reason, blurry and dancing. His fur was wet, and his head felt like it was a throroughly bruised pumpkin. As the world around him came back into focus, he saw that he lying in a puddle in the middle of a very high outcropping of rock. "Oh man," he groaned, "this can't be good. Where are the others? The Rainbow Rescue Beam should have sent us all to the same place!" When he finally gained enough stability to be able to stand securely, he inched his way over to the edge of the rock. He looked down, and saw nothing at the base. He wasn't really that far off the ground; if the others had been there they would have surely left footprints. Suddenly, something shot by Brave Heart in a blur of motion. It nearly knocked him off of the rock, but he managed to keep his balance. "What the heck was that?" he roared, forgetting about the throbbing in his head. "It looked like some sort of dog, with it was much grayer than Loyal Heart, and it looked like some sort of Collie." He waited there for a few minutes, to see if the mysterious gray dog would show itself again. It didn't, and Brave Heart decided that he should probably climb down the rock and start searching for the others. Before he started his climb, he took a good look around at the landscape. Brave Heart hadn't noticed it before, but all of the colors were duller than they should have been. It almost seemed like they were getting duller by the minute. "That can't be. I must have hit my head hard." And with that, he continued down the rock.

Brave Heart Lion had just woken up from a great nap, yawning. The sun was shining merrily, and he was happy. "I wonder what my cousins are doing today?" he wondered out loud in his great, growly voice. "I feel like helping someone learn to care." Before that, however, he decided that it would be a neat idea to brush his teeth. He bounded over to his bathroom, picked up his Golden Toothbrush of Love, and proceeded to brush his teeth with a rainbow. "Hmm," mused, "it's pretty dull this morning. No unicorns." He then bounded out the door, and entered his Happy-Chrome colored Cloud Car. "I'm glad I had this customized," he growled. A little while later, he arrived at Care-a-lot, and met up with Secret Bear. "Why Secret Bear, how are you today?" bellowed Brave Heart, with a hearty slap on the tiny bears back. Secret Bear made a few hand gestures, which Brave Heart took to mean that he was speaking loud enough. "What's that, can't hear me?" he roared, with the fury of a thousand happy feelings. "You haven't lost your hearing, have you?" Secret Bear gestured for him to keep it down. "Oh, okay. Do you know where the others are?" asked Brave Heart, in a much softer voice. Secret Bear pointed to the North. "Then let's go!" And with that, they bounded off towards the castle.

Dido, easily. Her songs are wonderful. I suppose it doesn't help that I may have never heard Sarah McLachlan. Dido is the reason that I actually like an Emenim song! Of course, the original song, "Thank you", I belive it's called, is one of my favorite songs.
Originally posted by Meteora Also Bulk and Skull have been in every single different season there is. I just thought I wouldpoint it out to you.
No they haven't. They were in it from Mighty Morphin' Season 1 through Lost Galaxy (only very sparesly), and they guest starred in an episode of Wild Force, but they weren't in Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, or Ninja Storm. I'd like to point out the Saban no long has anything to do with Power Ranger anymore. They sold it to Disney. However, I'm not sure about the state of Sentai, heh. And no, the creaters of Power Rangers are definately not running out of ideas. Since Power Rangers is actaully Sentai, and Sentai has been managing to reinvent itself for over twenty-five years now, I'd say they're going to be fine. Just because more than one season uses the same zord theme doesn't mean it has a lack of ideas and originality. If every season introduced a zord that was nothing more than a robot, would you complain about no originality? It's all ready happened (Time Force and Zeo both featured zords that were nothing more than a big robot.) Did anyone complain every time Transformers introduced another Autobot? "Oop, another car. This show is running out of ideas."

I've heard Billy's last name is Cranston. I don't know if this is official, but anything that Rovang tells me has to be true, since Rovang is the Power Ranger God. It's good to see another Power Ranger fan on the boards. The only other truly serious fans don't seem to come around much anymore. (Oh Devidramon, where are you!) Zedd was indeed the best villain ever. I mean, he could have been better, but the fact is he has no skin! How freaking cool is that! I'm not sure about your reasoning behind adding King Sphynx to the list of villains there. He didn't have much of a personality, and he only appeared in one episode. Technically, he was also in the pilot, but that was the same footage, heh. Anyway, I never liked him all that much, to tell you the truth. Give me the Terror Toad any day! Mwah ha ha!

I don't understnad how anyone could like the awful shows they have on that station. Sure, Pete and Pete, Daria, and Clarissa (if they still show that) are good, but they are all taken from another channel. Mostly what puts me off are the commercials. I just cannot watch a station that shows awful commercials constantly. It's why I only watch Toon Disney for Gargoyles and possibly Aladin. The shows are pretty bad too. I don't know why, but 14-year olds with relationship problems sounds like a pretty stupid premise for a show. That's probably not the premise of the entire show (that Degrassi one, that is), but it's all I could gather from the 10.5 seconds I could stand watching the show. And those jerks stole my letter, I've been calling myself N for years!

Most of the songs I like are older songs. In fact, my three current favorite songs were all made in the 70's, I think. One is a re-make of a 60's song (which I actually prefer over the original), and another might have been made in the 80's. Let's see... Who do I like? Well, it's hard to choose any set number, so I'll just ramble off the top of the head. I love SuperTramp. Plain and simple. I'm a huge Bob Seger fan, and if there's going to be any CD I get soon, it's probably going to be either Bob Seger or Bruce Springstein. And yes, The Boss is also a favorite of mine. Styx, of course. I would have to believe that it is impossible to listen to Mr. Roboto and not like it, simply for the fact that the band was insane enough to make something like that. ZZ Top, Foriegner, AC/DC, Van Halen, Doobie Brothers. I suppose I'm starting to name ones that might be named over and over again, so I guess I'll stop there.
-
I liked the book series, but I never saw the movie. I tend to stay away from anything with Tom Arnold in it.

Love your avatar, Silent, I used to spend hours playing that game. I don't think that Jackman will leave the cast. I believe he has said that he wants two great trilogies under his belt before he retires. X-Men will be one, and he's going to star in an upcoming one. Why would anyone miss Storm? Her role in the first two movies were so small that they would hardly be missed. Sure, she had a bigger role in the second movie, but still, she pretty much serves as something to enhance other characters. Anyway, I love the movies. I'm more than angry that they never gave Rogue her complete powers. I understand it in the movie, since falling in with the Brotherhood would probably have made her less sympathetic. Still, I want to see her in kick-butt mode again. She's too dependant. Also, I hate Toad, and I'm very glad that he wasn't included in the second movie. I'm glad that Cyclops has been sort of written down, myself. I never did like his character all that well. NIGHTCRAWLER ROCKS! I hope they have Gambit in the next movie, he is one of my favorites. I'm just curious, how many people cought his "psuedo-cameo"? And how many people cought Beast?
-
Heh, good story Ben. The only thing I can see wrong with it was that you kept using "their" instead of "there". Also, a little description on the characters wouldn't hurt. I know what Blockmon looks like, but I'm not sure anyone who isn't an old-school Digipeep would.

I think the greatest pick up line ever would be the one on my favorite shirt. "I lost my phone number, can I have yours?" I'd like to have it noted that I have a friend who swears she would give me her number if I ever ask her that. I know quite a few others, but most of them are just stolen from 8-Bit Theater and the such. So yeah.
