Scratch that, it was 3 not 4. Commence the mocking. And, as it turns out, that bill is still up for vote! It passed in the house in the late 1800s (wtf?) but stalled in the senate.
Is that so? It's all that crack cocaine in the Wabash that's ruining everyone's minds.
Or the horrible poisons in the White River.

I'm sure that, like all great works of art, the symbolism behind that picture will be debated for generations. -
Nice try on the yaoi content Nerdsy. However, that's Akira Okada from the series Kaguya Hime. So the one wearing a shirt is actually a woman. =P
Oh no, my ignorance regarding yaoi has been exposed! My reputation is ruined.
I feel misled. That picture was titled "yaoi" when I found it. Way to let me down, internets.

Perhaps "put in reserve" was a poor choice of words, I just meant that I don't I turn up for first date with a gal dressed like Darth Vader, insist that the establishment provide me with penne all'arrabbiata and then engage her in a deep philosophical debate regarding the Endor Holocaust.
I'm trying really hard to decipher this, but I just can't.
Except for the part about the Lich, I was being literal. We tend to get hit by at least one terrible ice storm a year which will leave everything covered in ice about half an inch thick, and of course this usually ends up in no one having electricity for a good long time. Campus usually gets power back relatively quickly (took two days last year), though parts of town went as long as a week from what I understand.
-
That reminds me, its December. It's almost time for the Lich to visit and coat everything in ice while simultaneously robbing everyone in town of electricity for a week. Oh boy!
Because male geeks are apparently considerably less attractive (and far more numerous) than their female counterparts thereby forcing us to adopt a more normal outer appearance to attract women. It's not really hiding it, just keeping it in reserve until we're certain they're comfortable with whatever level of geekiness we possess.
Sell out.
Do you still take the methylphenidate (ritalin)? I have before and I feel that it shouldn't be on the market. As a stimulant, it has a type of action that is very oriented in the arteries and cardiovascular system, moreso than most other stims. It does so in a sense that is very yucky. If you are still taking the MPH, I suggest you try something else. I was very ADHD myself as a child, and have had issues all my life. If you wanted a suggestion as to something else, I recommend Adderall.
No, I haven't taken anything like that for about a decade now. I've been managing to keep my ADHD at acceptable levels without it, though I still find it hard to focus on anything that doesn't involve bright, primary colors.
The point mostly is that these privileges aren't actually removed. They're simply retracted momentarily, and no emphasis is put on getting it back because all that's required to get it back is a time limit. Think: when you lose someone's trust, you have to earn it back. When you lose your phone, it comes back after a month. Does the second case inspire any form of behavior modification? Any at all? If such tactics are to be effective, then, the time limit can't be pre-known. Knowing how long a thing is gone just turns the punishment into a waiting game; if instead the child has to earn back the privilege through their behavior or performance, then you can see first if it matters to them and second if they want to get it back badly enough to change.
I would say that this, even, does not truly work. In elementary school, I had absolutely terrible behavioral problems; I was a hyper little **** and nothing could calm me down. Until the riddlen, that is. I don't remember what the infraction was, but I got in so much trouble with my dad and stepmother that they took away absolutely everything. Television (and by extension video games), toys, even my library card. They then set up a system where I would get my passtimes back after chores and good behavior. Yes, I was a little angel then, but as soon as I had all my stuff back I reverted to being a little ****. The rebuilding of trust may have inspired behavioral modification, but it didn't last beyond my short-sighted goals.

I find a lot of what people call "being clean" really is really either adherence to organizational norms or vanity. As such, there are a lot of times where I just don't give a ****. My desk, for instance, is always messy in the sense that there's never a bare spot, but unlike torrents of chicken blood this isn't hurting anything. I don't really lose things that often and if I do, it's rarely because of lack of a perceptible order. I know several people who refuse to wear a wrinkled shirt or pants, because "wrinkles mean they're dirty." I, however, have no problems wearing a shirt that looks like it was made out of a turkey's neck.
