I havn't been in one personally but while driving with a friend of mine i've come close to it. I wasn't driving but my friend constantly fools around while driving and does stupid stuff. For example he goes all over the road for fun, he speeds, he sees how long he can go without touching the wheel, and he even closes his eyes sometimes. I probably shouldn't drive with him because i'm sure he'll get into some sort of wreck sooner or later. I saw a car crash while I was walking along one day. I was with some friends and all 3 of us were stairing at the car when it happened. One car reer ended another and it smashed up pretty much the entire front of the car that ran into the other one, but the back of the car it ran into didn't seem so bad.

This is a GREAT movie. For some reason the way it's put together kind of reminds me of "American Movie". Except for the obvious fact that "This is Spinal Tap" was scripted and the guys in "American Movie" are just real idiots. Does anyone know of any similar movies? I know "Waiting for Gufman" was a fake documentary and is funny for some of the same reasons.

This is an interesting thread. I don't think I have a really good answer though. I don't really regret anything i've done so much that i'll regret it for the rest of my life. I think i've probably told people things that I shouldn't have but that's about the full extent of my regret. I'm interested to see what other people say though...

I really like to talk to people I know on AIM. It sure beats the phone, and you don't even need to pay long distance bills to talk to people. There's just nothing like the web and I wouldn't be able to imagine life without it. Ever since I got it 4 years ago there hasn't been a day where I had the chance to get online but I didn't.

Well I might go to the ozz fest. There are going to be some good bands playing there this year. I just need to see if I can make one of the dates. I'll probably go to the one in Boston if any of them but I could possibly catch it somewhere else. I think the website's just http://ozzfest.com

I like the Otaku Lounge and the Anime Lounge the best. I like the Otaku Lounge because you can talk about just about anything. I like the Anime Lounge just because I like anime. I just really started to come here on a regular basis a week or two ago. Before that I would come here every once in a while and browse. So at the moment I guess those are the forums I go to the most but that will probably change over time.
Originally posted by Justin It happens to me all of the time. Usually when I'm sleeping lightly, I'll have a dream about running or walking; I'll be going along and then suddenly trip or step into a hole, and then I'll wake up. When I wake up, I realize that my hole body has just jumped into the air. It's really weird. -Justin
That EXACT same thing happens to me. Well except for I don't recall ever having a dream durring a light sleep about steping into a hole. But I always have dreams about tripping. It usually happens when i'm either just falling asleep or if I just woke up and I hit the snooze button on my alarm. EDIT: I also twitch when I wake up but i'm not fully awake. I can't move and when I try to move all I can do is twitch. Does that happen to any of you?

I almost forgot, a former local band over here was 6 Gig. They made it pretty big and probably some of you have heard of them. Another band was Rustic Overtones. They were on the soundtrack for "The Animal". Rustic Overtones were actually from the town I live in and they used to practice behind my house before they made it big.

That doesn't just sound like Freak on a Leash that IS Freak on a Leash. Yeah someone should really do something about that. I have no idea what the song "His" even sounds like but i'm sure that's not it.
Originally posted by Syk3 I thinks it's safe to say that the scariest way to die would be slow and painful. Use your imagination. :) Maybe to be in a coffin, not that it would happen with todays technology, and wake up underground. *shivers*
Actually a long time ago when that used to happen they had tubes that went into the coffin and then above ground so you could scream if you were stuck and then someone would eventually come around and dig you up. I agree that would be quite scary though. But it seems to me like it would be much more uncomfortable than scary.
Originally posted by stardust I know what you were saying, but my point was we control OUR MIND,it doesn't control us. We have the ability to control our thouhgts, actions, feelings.I mean, think about it. You do everything that pops into your mind? Cuz I sure don't!
Ok, well what do you mean by we can control our thoughts? Is there even such a thing as controling our thoughts? The way I see it everything depends on something else. For example I wouldn't even have brought this up if it wasn't for the fact that I had a conversation about this last night.
Originally posted by stardust Hmmmm....that's an odd question.I think there is such a thing though. Freewill could be demonstartaed by everything we think. People don't totally control what WE think. Yes, maybe the media has SOME control on our thoughts, and many things in life can beinfluenced...but think...if we aren't controlling ourselves, who is? Our thoughts come on heir own freewill?Woah, you make my head hurt...I need tot hink about this more...
Well I wasn't really saying that anyone was controlling us. I was trying to say that everything we do doesn't happen because we make it happen but because our mind makes it happen. Maybe i'm thinking a bit too deep for my own good, I don't know.
-
Ok, well your thoughts do depend on what you have done or what your doing. What I ment though is I don't see how you can have any control over what you think of when. Depending on who you are you might react to things in different ways. If you know that going to jail for example wouldn't be good, then you will try not to go. But why would you do that unless it had to do with something that already happened to you in the past? Your ability to "think" has to do with things that have happened to you. *confusing self* Ok I hope everyone understands what I'm saying. ^_^

Is there such a thing? I've come to the conclusion that no one can control anything they do. I don't know if this has ever been posted before but it was something I was thinking about so I just decided to go ahead and post it after I searched for it and didn't find anything right away. My main argument is where do your thoughts come from? They just pop up in your head. How would you control such a thing? Why do we do the things we do? Because of our thoughts? What controls our movements? Do you really feel you have control over everything you do? I think that free will is just some sort of illusion if anything, only to keep us from going insane.

Well I don't really have an example of my perfect villan. In fact I don't even know if there is such a villan. But i'd say that he would have to be quiet. He would also keep to himself about most things as well as have a plan for everything. Of course he would have to be pure evil. It would help if he's actually gotten away with things before and isn't always someone you can stop. It gets annoying when the villan always wins or loses.

Well I have not been on these boards long enough to notice very much of, if any change in the way I act. On the other hand I have been on the web long enough to notice a change. I have some old AIM conversations on my other computer saved for some reason. I was looking through them fairly recently actually and I acted pretty messed up back then. Then I think about it and most of these were from a few years ago. I wasn't really that used to talking to people online anyway so I imagine I acted quite differently than I did in real life. My friend told me last night that I act pretty much the same online now as I do in real life, except i'm "more talkative online". I think that's mainly because whenever I try to talk in a group of people in real life everyone trys to say stuff all at once. I just try not to interrupt what other people are saying.

Has anyone here ever caught something that was thrown into the crowed at a concert of some sort? When I went to a Korn concert here earlier this year I caught a guitar pick. I felt so lucky because I didn't even catch a guitar pick at a concert my school held, and they threw about twice as many picks. I also came pretty close to getting a drum stick at a God Smack concert a few weeks ago.

I thought I would get this thread back on topic...I do indeed believe in Aliens and I always have. If you think about how big the Universe must be how can you not believe in Aliens? It seems to me that the odds of us being alone are very low. If it can happen here why can't it happen everywhere? I feel very confident that there is life out there much more intelligent than humans.

Well I really enjoyed Toy Story, and Toy Story 2, but then I didn't like Monsters Inc. I don't really even want to give this one a chance. The only thing that appeals to me is the fact that it's computer animated and the animation looks amazing. The thing is i'm sure I will start to get bored of it at least half way through the movie if the movie is not very good. It's not really even so much that I don't think it's a good movie but I think it would probably be a bit too kiddish for my taste. That and the fact I don't want to be the oldest person in the movie theatre(which is what happened when I saw Monsters Inc.).

Does anyone here support local bands? It would be interesting to listen to some music from some of them. The one that sticks out the most in my mind would have to be a band called Ransom. There my friend's cousin's band and there pretty good I guess. You can download a couple of songs here:http://www.ransommusic.com. I went to one of their concerts and i'd say there stuff is metalish.

Hmm, well yesterday I was pretty zoned out. I got to school and I took my math final then my band final. I went to an anime convention with a friend and I didn't have much to eat/drink. I even played in a DDR tournament and that just made things worse. As the day went on I just got really tired and uncomfortable. Someone would ask me something and it would take me a while to reply. Eventually I got something to eat but then I was zoned out pretty badly again later that day/earlier this morning (whatever you want to call 12/1am). So over all being zoned out = not very fun.

Well I guess the first thing I would do if I knew that we were actually inside a matrix is try to jump very high. I mean come on we would have a movie to tell us all about what we can do. Hmm...yeah but if I didn't know about the movie I don't really know what i'd do. But lets be realistic here(not that the topic is realistic)...i'd probably freak out big time.
-
*shrugs* Hmm maybe i'd go outside for once. I really don't know considering this will probably never happen. I would probably be a little upset for a while, but then just start watching more live action movies. Then I could pretend like I was watching a cartoon and sit there being amazed at the artwork.

Summer hasn't started for me either quite yet. I have a Math final tomorrow and then an English, History, and Bio final on monday. I have some plans for the summer but not a lot. I might get a job for once (i've never had one) and i'm also going to go to Virginia to visit family. But before I go to Virginia i'm going to NYC! When i'm there I plan to go to the Hello Deli. If you watch David Letterman you'll know what that is.

Yeah I got the unmastered and the real leaked versions. I ended up getting the cd and it sounds so much better than the mp3s did. When it comes to radiohead I really like there use of weird sounds. I think that some of their stuff is very original and much better than most of the stuff on the radio these days (I don't believe i've heard them on the radio much if at all). Oh and don't get me started on how much I hate the radio. It seems to me like there are absolutley no good stations around where I live.
