Oh Man, this CD is great! I got it in the mail yasterday, blasted it 10 times and fell asleep happy...except I have a headache. Lying From You is a great song...I think its something with the beginning parts, since they use the same instrument technique and it sounds the same...

Anybody heard this? It's off the new album, and on the Player the site has set up as well. It's a pretty heavy, anger filled song, but what have you come to expect from LP? Johnny Cash did a cover of Nine Inch Nails. It's called 'Hurt' if you've yet to hear it. I'm actually surprised at how it sounds, and I like it. The Old Crooner does a pretty good job, in my eyes, of covering this song. The video is pretty good too, it covers his life in pictures while he sings. Anyone else heard this song?

I don't have hypertension. Acquired the waiver today, and I was on a monitor the past 24 hours. My BP can't go above 90, and it did 4 times...in 72 checks. I think I'm good to go...

Well, the results are in... I am 'Temporarily Disqualified' from military service. Thats for any branch My blood pressure is way too high (161/92, then 151/91, then 135/80 and ending with something/96). Anything over 90 on the bottom number is bad, and thats obviously means I'm temporarily screwed..I do in tomorrow to try to get my waiver and be able to do the Blood Pressure part of the exam next week. But as for now, I'm still a high school student.

G.I. initially stood for 'General Issue'. It stood for the things soldiers were issued, and eventually became a nickname for the soldiers. It stuck.

No, not yet. The program I'm going on lets me join, yet stay in school. Once I graduate, then they rope me in. They can deny me because of the budget and what its limited to. They can only pay its people so much before they cant take anymore. Plus the war threats are a big factor. I go in tomorrow. I'll try to post once more before I leave.

I know this is an odd topic, but it'd be interesting to find a common thread in some of this boards oddballs I'm personally more of a military history buff. American Mil History, I'm a genius at. Ask any question, I can probably answer it if it relates to that topic. As for any other b/s Military, I'm still pretty good at, just not as polished

The lead singer chick is HOT. Flat out. As for the music, I haven't heard anything outside of 'Bring Me To Life', but from what I understand, they're a Christian Rock band, kind of like P.O.D. I'll still listen though

I'm pretty positive I'd go Army if it all came down to it. But I'm not joining JUST because of tradition. That was more of a guidance as to what service more than anything else. I'm mainly going in so I can get to college. My grades blow now, and I need the cash, even if my grades were good.

No, you join one service, and you're there for the time you signed. You can get out and join a 'Reserve' component different than what you were in. (i.e. Join Marines, get out, then join Army Reserve) I mainly want to go Air Force, because its more family tradition than anything else. I don't want to go Army or Marines because I'd end up as 'Private Ryan', and thats the last thing I need. Navy...don't get me started on Navy. So much corruption, it's not funny

The Air Force has already filled this years quota for manpower PLUS 40% of NEXT YEARS quota.
