I was sitting in ROTC, and we were arguing about Iraq (no political arguments please) I brought something up, and everyone started fighting over it. So I started writing. I'm glad everyone sees the point, but I want some more reviews, b/c I may start posting on here more if I get good reviews. and trust me, I have many more to post

Army BASIC (not boot camp, and its caps) is 8 weeks long, while Marines clock in at 13 weeks. Air Force is 7 weeks, and it's only been that long for about a year (They put something in similar to The Crucible in Marine Basic). Navy, I'm not entirely sure. As for after BASIC, it all depends on the field you go into and which branch. Marine Infantry and Army Infantry schools are different lengths.

This is the first in a while, and the first time I've used this rhyme scheme. Its Terza Rima (aba bcb cdc aa) and I think I did a good job. From all this, does anyone have anything to gain? Some Prisoners, Some Land? We're in the middle of the Romanticism unit right now, and those are in my textbook. Blake is kind of stuffy, but as mentioned before his work can be rather brilliant. From the Romanticism era, I'm more a fan of American Authors, since what they write about is closer to the way americans are (if that makes any sense).

Mine and Vegitto4's district was closed the past 2 days, because Texans don't know how to drive on ice. They can't even TELL the difference between ice and snow. The news people have been calling it snow, and it's truly annoying. As for being out of school....I didnt like it for 2 reasons: 1) I'm a senior. The longer I'm here, the more miserable I am. 1 of the 2 make up days is 2 days before graduation. AARGH! 2) I'm effectively grounded, which means I can't talk to my girlfriend. I don't drive, which means the only time I see her is at school. Dammit all....I finally saw her this morning for the first time in 2 DAYS! It was pure torture, but it's all over now...

I didn't mind the commercials at first, but now it just seems like they're pushing their opinion on me a LITTLE too much. I don't smoke, and I learned from my parents experiences that I shouldn't even try. I GET IT, LEAVE ME ALONE!

I'm thinking of maybe asking for $250. It would be enough to cover prom, have some left over AND small enough to pay back within a paycheck. Now I gotta put together a budget to show her....

Yeah I'm a senior, dates a junior. If it were my Junior year, yeah I'd hold out for many reasons, including I still have another year to go. But, this seems the only way to go. I need more opinions though...

Well see, heres the thing....once I get out of High School, I'm going straight into the military. The only prb with money that I have is a lack of. I'm good at saving, so once I get in, with the constant flow of cash, I shouldn't be in any type of ordeal.

Okay, heres my problem... As I mentioned on an earlier thread, I've been looking for a job since September 2001, when I was offered resignation from Einstein Brothers Bagels. Heres what I didnt mention. I have Prom the last saturday in April, and I have a date. Unfortunetly, I also only have $20 to my name. That would cover...maybe 1 ticket. So, I need cash. A miracle occured yesterday when my grandmother offered me a blank check if I needed money anytime between now and when I join the Air Force. Should I take it now, seeing as I won't really have anything else thats really going to cost any money?

It really blows here. Texas weather is probably the worst in the world. It can seriously go from being 71 degrees one day to 30 degrees the next. It happened a few weeks ago. Summer can get up to 110+ degrees, and the weathermen dont help by counting down the days to our 1st 100 degree day. Its humid, and if you have asthma or any type of respiratory illness, youre screwed here. Trust Me I know. LP

You should be happy you have a job I've been looking since Sept. 2001, and am still unsuccessful in finding a job. The economy sucks, and if youre wanting to keep a source of income, I'd HIGHLY reccomend keep the job.

Thats poetic Mitch, but this isnt in the Poem forum. Sorry man. Anyhow, it wasnt an advertisement. Those arent shown here either. I was just catching up on the days events, and they started talking about it. Odd thing was that almost right after, there was an advertisement for the documentary "Bowling for Columbine" which is about the incident 4 years ago. Anyhow, figured I'd clear up that little jumble. As for my opinions on guns....I dont agree with them, but at the same time I do, which sounds wierd. In war...theres no real other alternative BUT guns, and if you look at it, its better than Artillery, which can take out whole buildings with a single shell and kill everyone within, and its better than dropping a nuclear weapon, which kills thousands of people within seconds. In order not to sound like Bush the War Monger, Guns really have no use outside of the military. People may hunt with them, but yields for meat arent very high. Using them as self-defense is possibly the DUMBEST argument I've ever heard. If civilians had ABSOLUTELY no access to guns, the world would be a much better place. LP
