MOD's...Anyone here a MOD?

Hey i was wondering, anyone hear a MOD? I am! (UK version of MOD's) Mods are poeple who listen to bands such as Oasis, The Charltons, The Datsuns, Supergrass, The Shining, The Vines, The Music and The Cooper Temple Cause. The MOD's wear clothes such as woren out jeans and demin jackets, duffel coats, Parka jackets (ones with big furry hoods), stupid, pointless T-Shirts like:
Blank white T-shirt with 100% FCUK
or
Blank white t-shirt with the MOD sign on it

MOD's personalise their tops and ajckets with sew on labels, promoting the bands above.They used to jump about on scooters too. My Brother is a MOD and my Dad used to eb a MOD and i am also one :D. I was wondering if anyone else was one?

I was watching Seinfeld when I first read this... In their coffee shop they have that symbol on the back walls by the bathroom (it looked like it anyway). Weird.

From your discription the only way I'm remotely mod is by putting different types of band patches on my stuff. I think pretty much anybody really does that though lol. I couldn't even stomach some of those bands honestly, but to each his own :).

Mods are an odd folk. The few "mod-ish" people I knew are cool, I guess. Pretty nice.

This topic makes me a little sick, though. It is about the equivalent of me going out wearing a shirt that says "punk" on it, carrying multiple signs that mention something about punk,and running around preaching of anarchy and rebellion... I shudder at the thought.[/color]

[size=1]I'm sorry, the whole concept sort of bewilders me. Do you listen to these groups and dress this way because you wish to be a 'MOD', or are you a 'MOD' because you listen to these groups and dress this way?

If you do wear the clothing but don't listen to the music, are you still considered part of this?

And is it something that lots of people are actively a part of...or just a stereotypical grouping....?

I suppose these questions apply to a lot of different things, don't they?

OK here we go:

1)I am considered a Mod becuase i listen to these groups and dress this way.

2)Yeah, i geuss so, it isn't always about the music, yeah?

3)Lots of people area part of it, I don't go about labeling people either, only the oens who like to eb labeled, such as Moshers or Goths in my area. I am not bothered about being labeled a mod, but i am one, you see?

Mods are odd people, I think... the few I've known are generally OK.. but the many I've observed.. just aren't.. I'm talking completely from personal experience here, so it's [i][b]NOT[/i][/b] going to be absolutely true of every single mod.. ever.. but the ones I've seen in groups are just plain destructive.. but as I've said, I get on with a few OK.. but a lot that I've seen are just plain destructive, in a "senseless destructive british lad" kind of way..

I've never really liked any of that music, and I've never wanted to label myself as anything through my clothes or music (like Grunger/Townie or whatever), not that I've ever worn anything that could be considered as either. So I'm definately not a Mod. If anything, I'm an Anti-Mod. And I agree with Deus- most of the ones I've seen have been destrcuctive, and petty and annoying to boot, which is not something I'd particularly want to be attributed to even if I was a Mod. Which I ain't.

But it's up to you what you choose to be. If you don't mind being labelled as a Mod then that's fine, providing it's just the music and clothes that make you a Mod, not the stereotypical destructiveness.

Someone once told me i resembeled a mod. I wear stuff like that and i do my eye make up with white and silver is that considered modish? Well i like those bands mentioned i guess im a closet mod.....
