The temple of the ancients is the devil, it's so damn hard! I'm still stuck on it, and can't be bothered to play it because I know that I don't know what to do (if that makes sense).

Lol...it's not that hard. Are you stuck on the big maze room, then? After you get through that part, it's not too hard to get to where you need to go or do what you need to do. Mainly just annoying, heh.

I can help you, if you want. I've been through it twice, and I also got the player's guide after beating the game, so I can always take a look at that and give you help from out of it, too.

The clock part can be hard, but once you figure out the trick, it's easy.

Maybe you mean the freaking Demon in there? I HATE him--the door coming alive and him attacking you. That stinky is prolly one of the hardest bosses on the game--I can always breeze past anyone but him.

The temple is a hellhole.THe bolders, mazeDemon Gate....it's hell....It's an FF8 version of a SeeD Mission.Demon Gate is XATM-092.But luckily you could get white wind in disk one.Once you get Cait Sith, get his Manipulation matera from him and equip to Cloud.Drive the Buggy to Costa Del Sol and hitch a ride to Junon.Drive back to Fort Condor......get off and walk around it..get into a fight with a white monster. Manipulate him and use white wind on yourself.GO back to Cost Del Sol with the buggy and continue the game.

In my opinion Mighty Guard and Wite Wind is the best Enemy Skill in the whole game.Followed by Shadow Flare.

You won't be able to put the fire out at Da-Chao until later on in disc 2. When you are at the underwater mako reactor near junon, look for a treasure chest right before the submarines, you'll find Leviathan scales in there. Use those to put out the fires in Wutai.
As for enemy skills, the giant birds Zemzlett are the ones you can get white wind from. Big guard and white wind are really useful, but for the first half of the game Trine was the one I used the most. It only cost 20mp and yet it was just as strong as lv3 magic, maybe stronger. I have all the enemy skills on 3 materias except for shadow flare, I only have that on the one after I fought Ultima Weapon. I heard dragon zombies in the crater use it but I fought a bajillion of them and all I got was Pandora's box (what is with that anyway, a giant question mark?!).
The part of the temple of ancients that took me the longest was the first screen w/ the vines, was hard to see where u could walk and stuff. W/ the clock room all u have to do is move it slowly until one of the hands is touching ur doorway, and the other hand is touching the doorway of the one u want (door 4 has a ribbon if I remember right), and if u get knocked off by the second hand you can get a nail bat. Hm...demon's gate was freakishly hard, but I had some trouble w/ Materia Keeper...altho that is probably cause I had vincent and (stupidly) used his galian beast, so every time beast flare came up it'd super-heal the materia keeper ><.

Yeah, me too! I should've known better, as I probably could've breezed past him without that stupid Limit of Vincent's. I had everyone else using strong limits and Lv2 magic, but then Vincent used that stupid Beast Flare limit that healed him a lot. I used to cheer every time he used Beserk Dance.. heehee.

Why would you want the Nail Bat though..? I've been told that it's really crap, as it is just a bat with a nail through it.. is that true, because the name suggests that quite obviously.

And 'Breko, I sure would like some help getting through the first part of the Temple of the Ancients, next time you're on I'll give you a shout and I can.. quite simply.. beat it. Woo!

Well, it really depends, for the Nail Bat. Yes, it is just a bat with nails stuck in it. It also doesn't have any Materia slots. To make up for this, though, it has pretty high attack power, for that point in the game. It just depends on whether you want powerful attacks, or lots of magic.

Des is right--And if you have Armour like a Wizard bracelet, it really doesn't matter if you don't have any Materia slots in your weapon.

Plus, the only Materia you need to carry around is Enemy Skill. Best in the game, hands down.

You catch a Chocobo, go across the lake to get away from the sea serpent thing, and go to Kalm. Or, you could do it the cheating way: Go to the lake where the serpent is. Start walking in it(yes, with out a chocobo)then, right when it's about to get you, pause, save, then quit. Turn the game back on, and the serpent should be pretty far away from you. Repeat until you get to the cave. It may take long, but it's easier than catching a chocobo.

I dunno if that's easier than just straight up catching a chocobo... They're piss easy to find around the Ranch.

Hee.. yeah, catching chocobos around that ranch is simple. Your way of getting past the Zolom is just... complicated. :p

I think someone should tell me how to get past that damnéd Temple of the Ancients now. I'm in the mood to play FFVII again. Someone tell me and I'll beat it. I'll have a try on it first, and then I will edit this post later.

I can help you through it, but I'd kind of need to know where you are, and be able to talk to you over AIM or something. Ask me sometime when I'm on AIM, and I'll help you.
Thanks Breko, I'll contact you whenever you are online next. :)

Edit: Wahaa! I got past it. It was actually very suprisingly easy when Brekobeans just told me that I needed to go down another set of vines (which I had not seen before o_O). But, damn, that Demons Gate thingy was hard and very annoying. It took me two tries (Cid dying first both times, strange). I was pretty lucky with that boss though, I killed it when both Cloud and Aeris were on around 200HP left. :P
