Gangsta! grrrr

At school there are a group of guys that all themselves "gangstas".
Now, this is just stupid, as we can see, but they're using it to make problems. Just because they like rap, play GTA, wear headbands and North Face jackets, and flip their hair doesn't mean your "gangsta." Now, I'm getting picked on because I like rock, I like to write, and my obsession with anime and manga culture. They obviously don't know what "mind your own business" is. I'm thinking about telling the dean or guidance counselor about them. I am so downtrodden and upset right now from getting called a "loser, fat, nonentity" all day. What do you think I should do ? :(

Welcome to my world. I got to a catholic school (Which is a majority white, only 5 kids in the whole school who arn't) and they call themselves thugs and gangstas....Its really stupid. The whole thing is stupid. Personally if they continue I just tell them to either "F**K off" *you can do it politer of course* or just ignore them. I choose to ignore them all, but its up to you. You can take it up to the authorities but all you'll see prolly is a boring assembly talking about how bullies are bad, and then it won't stop. I don't know, I just choose to ignore them.

Remember you are you, not what they want you to be. So don't give a damn what they say, they arn't important...

Yep, I'm in Catholic school too. God bless 'em.... lol :D But with ignoring them, I do, and it stops for about, oh.....10 seconds? Then it goes back to "You ever ******Censored******* before? If not, your a ********BEEP******" just like last time. Anyways, Thanks for the advice, and I feel your pain. Catholic school is hipocritical, and full of human beings with nothing better to do than fill their brain with MTV and sports. And btw, stormwing made this banner for me. I think its really neat too. I mean its not exactly the most mature advice, and I don't do it unless I honestly can't stand it, but un-fortunatly sometimes it works. I don't suggest it unless you are desperate..

:laugh: :laugh: OMG....:rotflmao: MAN THAT WAS FUNNY...Sorry for that but when you said this I couldn't do nothing but laugh...But 4 real I'm black and I notice that all the time...and sometime the white kids who do that are cool. But the thing I feel is that they don't feel 'popular' as normal caucasian kids...and therefore have to put on a front to stand out. They are just trying to look cool and if they are "gangstars" ask them this.

When is the last time you shot someone?
When is the last time you went to South Central, L.A. or the Bronx?
When is the last time you sold a little kid drugs?

I'll be they say that they don't do that...and I'm not saying I condone what gangstars do...But you have to be true to who and what you are...and that doesn't mean dressing black...and don't live in that world..( and yeah you can wear whatever clothes you want) But I think that if you don't live the life...Don't claim that you do!!!

Sweetreyes, I agree with you totally. But seriously, these kids need a life other than all the horrible stuff the media feeds 'em. I mean, "gangsta'" is also stereotyping African Americans. I know many people of that culture and are nowhere near 'gangstas'". The media really distorts peoples' images.

I HATE all those rap wannabes....they're always trying to act all tough and cool while deep down inside they really are good people and proably have family problems...seriousely, a lot of them just act like that because they try to make themselves feel better and plus they proably have parents that don't care about them....I knew some. I was outside at break chatting with a friend. One of those "Gangsta" wannabe's, for no apparent reason came up to me and started mouthing off to me. I just turned around to ignore him. He grabbed me by the shoulder, turned me around and yelled something along the lines of "Don't you turn away from me when i'm speaking!". Then he just smashed me in the jaw. I mean i'm not one to do stuff without thinking it through first, but i wasn't putting up with that BS. I turned around and snap-kicked him in the jaw. Of course by that time someone had ratted us out to the principal. I was amazed that i got in NO trouble.

A little while ago someone around where i live commited suicide because he was getting "bullied". Since then rules are inforced pretty harshly. He got a month's suspention, and i got a free ticket home, so i could look after my swelled up jaw....

He also broke part of my braces... the bastard. Now I get to go to the dentists on my b-day tomorrow...

But ANYWAY, thats my expierence with those guys. Though i doubt it would work for many of you, i just wantd to share my expierence. [/COLOR]

This is exactly why I would never enroll my children (assuming I ever have any) in Catholic school. This is just a stereotype I picked up, but I heard that kids in Catholic school try to act hard core just because they feel like they have to compete with public schools.

Putting that aside, these kids are complete wannabes (unless they really have shot someone, which I doubt). All these kids need to clean up their act is to meet an actual gangsta or a black man who can pretend to be one.

Well, our school doesn't have problems like that, but there are these idiots that are failing school who walk around like rapper-wannabes.
I saw them trying (but failing horribly) to rap, and they were trying to act all popular...but then some guy tripped and all the other guys did too. It was funny...

Hey now Volcom, I may not be an eminem but I am white. Don't start with the racial stuff. But I agree at our school it is a huge war, gangster slams a skater into a locker 3 skaters beat up a homie....that is just how it goes. Back and forth.

[size=1]They make me laugh... Its so funny, there was this one kid that wanted to beat me up because I looked at him... o_O Hey now, I'm not popular, I'm a skater. They don't like skaters at my school, especially this one kid. He was like cursing me out. One day I just got sick of it and told him to "Shut Up!" Well he punched me. I did beat his sorry booty... O_o; He isn't at our school anymore. =D But I didn't get in trouble because it was out of self defense. But some of them are my friends and they are really nice and cool with me. Although I don't hang out with them as much as I did, because... Yes at one time I was quite popular, then I got sick of it so I went back. Mostly only the girls still talk to me =D I rather have the girls then the boys. Hehee

Well the moral of the story is, if they get physical in anyway, you need to stand up and fight back, because most bullies pick on kids because they know they won't fight back, but sometimes if you do, they may just leave you alone because your not afraid of them anymore.

Caring what they say is almost like telling me you support the way they act. gosh, after being made fun of for the majority of my schooling life, I just laugh at stuff like that. I'm so desensitised to all that crap its almost funny now.

You see ten or twelve of them struttin' their stuff down the hallway, yappin off stupid remarks at people, doin their strut. Hell I could just laugh, watchign them. Its funny cuz when they walk by I used to wink at them just to see what they would do, got some pretty funny remarks.

..Disregard them, to me, I used them as an alternative source for laughs.

Pretty much everything I would have to say has been said. I do not have too much of a problem with these kind of people. They do not give me a reason to. Sure, what they do is pathetic and stupid. So you just have to learn to ignore it. If you are walking down the halls and accidentally bump into one of them and they start mouthing off, just keep walking. Do not even acknowledge their presence. They are not worth your time. Even if they keep following, just keep walking. Do not even pick up your pace like you are trying to avoid them. Just act as if they were not even there. They should leave you alone. If they get physical and try to fight you, then fight back, but only after they make the first move so you can claim self-defense. I do not really condone violence, but you have a right to protect yourself... Though, at my school, if you are involved in a fight, self-defense or not, you still get in some pretty big trouble.[/color]

Do remember, self defense is not throwing three well aimed punches into the face of an attacker... Self defense would be stopping the attack, usualy restaining the attacker. Anyway, ignoring them servers no purpose unless its just a random encounter. You have obviously never been notoriously picked on Piro. If you ignore them and pretend they are nonexistant, it just gives them more of a reason to pursue.

If you have complete idiots bothering you, do one of two things.

1. Learn how to take a punch because eventually thats what it's going to come down to.

2. Make the most out of it, make sure they know they are inferior, and make sure they lose the little pride they have in making you feel like ****.

Ok, a big fight went down at me and Volcom's school today. It goes to show homies mean buisness. Ok, after 8th period we all went to see what seemed what was going to be a normal fight. All I knew was Angela was going to fight Tammara. But when we got there. A car rolled up three older girls and Sarah (a girl at my school) got out and all beat up Rosalie (another girl at our school) she was on the ground getting kicked and punched. Than two girls I didn't know started fighting and so did Tammara and Angela. It was gruesome. Than the copers showed up and we split.
