vegeta rocker
You want to kill someone because of their mind? I know how to strangle someone, does that make me a threat to my neighborhood? Everyone here has some knowledge of how to eliminate someone, the idea is unrealistic. Besides if one day this idea was carried out there would be a great concealing of mind power going on. Knowledge is power would take on a whole diffrent meaning. The ones with knowledge would lie about their iq and if their iq is already known they would be shunned and isolated for their gifts. they would then see no other choice but to revolt against the common man and since they ARE the smart ones who do you think will win? RoseofDawn
1) so this person knows how to make a bomb that could destroy the entire world. How is he going to get away with buying the materials? 2) you have to be aware that if these people exist, they could be prize targets for terrorists who might take them hostage. Syk3
They shouldn't be killed, not at all. Is it a crime to be smart? I'd very much hope not. Even if it's only four people, a human life is a human life. I'd also like to think that with them as smart as they are, they wouldn't try anything nearly so distructive. They'd realize that they would be dooming the entire human race to distinction, including themselves. I'll be willing to bet that if they even thought about this, they would die before commiting such an act. One thing though: I'd try to stay on their good side, make them happy. You can't be over-protective. ;)
RoseofDawn
but would it not be in the name of peace to kill these people? with these people gone all knowledge is erased of this bomb. however, on the same token, wouldnt it be hard to kill everyone who knows how to make a nuke, or an atomic bomb. and yet, to sacrifice the lives of few to save the lives of many... Kent
Im not sure about killing them, well actually, yea, Im sure. Thost people shouldnt be killed. They didnt do a thing wrong. However, I do feel that they would be willing to use the weapons just because, its not like they invented or learned how to build that weapon so they could help humanity. Oh no, if you learn how to design and build nukes, you have nothing in mind besides destruction. On a side note, My grandmother, the wife of an airforce pilot was one of the thirteen people to know the passcode to access the records of the manhatan project. I dont really know much about the story because its my step fathers mother. But I have no reasons to not believe her. Still, these nuke designers shouldnt be killed. Hell, that is especially important if we woulnt even kill people who rape and murder. Designing a weapon is horrid, yes in deed. But to use it, thats a whole different issue, and those designers, all though they should be held accountable, they shouldnt be executed.
liamc2
I know how to make a sandwich Does that mean that everyone is going to hunt me down? I think not. Why all of a sudden do you believe that a man that knows how to build something big an nasty should be killed? Following that logic, you could wipe out the majority of the people on earth. People, in one for or another, know how to build something that could cause harm to another. I know, for instance, by combining a select amount of Chlorine and explosives, I could wipe out a 200 metre radiuas and reduce it to so much ash and dust. I know that by combining different amounts of Plutonium and Uranium and a detonator device, I could create a type of nuclear weapon that could wipe out all organic matter in a 2-3 km radius and leave the surrounding landscape and buildings undamaged. So what if the guy knows how to make a 'doomsday' device? Feh, think of all the chemists and biological scientists that know how to make Nerve gas, Mustard Gas, VX gas. All lethal and designed to inflict as much pain as humanly possible, even beyond humanly possible. Airborne bacteria designed to kill if only one cell or spore is in contact with the skin. Viral diseases that can kill crops and destroy foilage, warping DNA so that unknown generations of children are born with horrible defects. Such is our world. Think of the group of scientists that developed the 'Orange' chemical that was meant to completely destroy foliage for US troops in Vietnam. Still today children in Vietnam are born with extra ligaments, albino skin because of that horrible chemical. Do you think that is fair? Of course not. But should we go out and wipe out all these scientists for what they have developed? Pffft, it sounds ludicrous to me. To take one life for what someone else did with the invention. vegeta rocker
The name of peace to kill someone? Listen to yourself RoseofDawn. If you think killing somebody will eliminate a threat you are mistaken.
Spikey
I think that these four people should just be kept under security. Like whenever they are making a science project that they watch it. If they actually were making this bomb that they will be shot in the head immedilatly. Killed in other words. But not be put to death because of what they know. If they did have one in there basement, the security should check the house top to bottom; and I mean top to bottom. The whole darn thing. I just hope that they don't use it. It's really scary just to think about it.
