India.Arie

India.Arie is a good singer and she's very down to Earth for a famous R&B singer, but maybe she's a little too down to Earth. Like almost all good singers, she talks about how her fame doesn't matter and she would give it all up in a second just to be happy, but then she gets to the point where she turns into Snow White (only, you know, black and without the dwarves). She's almost like Gaia from the cartoon Captain Planet.

In her latest video...
-She looks in the mirror and her soul glows through her body
-She walks out her door and a hummingbird gives her a flower, which she puts in her hair
-Her guitar is designed with flowers and butterflies and lady bugs.
-She plays the guitar in a field of dandilions
-She gets interviewed on a talk show, where she stops the conversation to stare at a lady bug on her finger

I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, but it's almost disturbing. I mean, the hummingbird was taking it a little too far.

yah,m the hummingbird thing is a bit weird.... but i like india.arie.

i first heard strength courage and wisdom, then i saw video on MTV@, and then i downloaded in my head, then bought the album.

well, i saw her music in high places special and apparently she does what she did there with people anyway without people... she's pretty earthy...... but i like her... but the problem is, i think she's trying to be more earthy than she should be to be herself. which can end up like TRYING to be artsy when you're not, eugh.

like that thing at PS(the museum in NYC) that was 47 hours of a sink dripping rom 78 different angles. oi. the slide was cool though....*wanders off*\

EDIT: WAIT JUST 1 MINUTE THERE!!!!!! stop stealing stuff from the Boondocks!!!*points accusing finger*

I'm all for being down to earth, but to me that just seems superficially down to earth, as though she's just trying to look that way.. it really doesn't work like that.. The whole point of being down to earth is it just happens, rather than you making it happen..
