I like a lot of Diney movies, and some stuff from the Disney Channel. some of the original movies really suck though. I think the original movies that I probably hate the most are My Thirteenth Year (or something like that), Smart House, Can of Worms, and the Zenon movies. I'm sure I could think of others, but not at the top of my head. I do like Seventeen Again, Even Stevens and Kim Possible though, Ron's a hoot :D.

Which new film is that? Atlantis was supposed to be more like anime, but it didn't work very well.

Lilo and Stitch was good. I liked it muchly. But I was with a friend who thinks the world of Disney, so I don't know how much of it I just liked on his behalf. I think he's one of the best-designed characters. And he looks vaguely like me. My friend and I always argue about which is better- The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. I don't know- he says hands down it's the Lion King. I'm being as nice as I can do Disney. I can't say I like it that much.

The Toy Story movies were absolutely amazing. TS2 was better, I think. I like Bullseye.

I'm guessing those bad movies include Max Keeble's Big Move, which sounds absolutely dungheap, and Rookie of the Year.

I don't think Atlantis was supposed to be more like anime in it's look or whatever.... But it did basically rip off of Nadia: Secret of Blue Water (which is a LOT better, by the way). Disney has had people complain about that with the Lion King as well (Kimba).

He's referring to Teasure Planet most likely though. I don't see how every action type animated film is related to anime though... I honestly didn't think that at all.

I'm not a fan of the newer stuff as much as I am of the older stuff. Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty are probably my two favorite animated films ever.... Nightmare Before Chrstmas is in my top 3 movies ever as well (along with Peewee's Big Adventure and Edward Scissorhands heh).

I do like Emperor's New Groove a lot though... It isn't really anything special animation wise, but it was just really well done in every other aspect. Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and others like thatof course are great as well.

I expect most of the Disney Channel original stuff to suck as it is... But what annoys me is the fact that Disney is making a sequel to every damn animated movie they ever put out. It just ruins the originals' appeal.

Yeah, they're ruining a lot of their movies by making sequals. It's really annoying. I refuse to watch any of them unless my little sister wants to.

I like the Aladdin movies and Lion King, and the animated 101 Dalmations is one of my favorites. I used to be a Disney-head when I was younger. I kinda got bored with Disney, but then I got back into it again.

One of my favorite shows is Disney's "House of Mouse." Gotta love the new "Goofy" cartoons they show.

I can't stand any of the original movies on the Disney Channel. They recycle actors constantly (like that guy from "Smart House" & "Luck of the Irish" and that girl from "Halloween Town" & "Quints.")

Disney Channel's original TV series are kool, though. I like "Kim Possible" (yep, Ron's the best character) "Even Stevens" and "Proud Family."

Hmm, well I seriously like almost every movie made by Disney. I'm speaking of the movies they show only on the Disney Channel, although there are other great movies made by them.

I also like many of their cartoons/shows.

I love most of Disney's movie, animated moreso than live action. I just have this thing against live action family movies because they have such bad humor and are extremely predictable but that's coming from the writer side of me.

My favorite Disney movie will always be the Lion King. The animations was beautiful, the characters had excellent voices (even elder Simba who was played by Matthew Broderick, who is not one of my favorite actors) James Earl Jones was superb as Mufasa. Who played Scar? The storyline was possibly the most epic of every Disney movie and unlike past Disney films, everything was not honkey doorie for all of the characters which made most of them more relatable. For example, Mufasa died and Simba's guilt made him relateable to people who, like myself, have run away from their problems in the past.

Disney's original films are bad, have horrible, reused actors, with the exception of some of the professionals like the actress who played the Smart House (and Peg Bundy in Married with Children), have horrible plots that make little since, and end in cliched, "everything is good again" endings. For instant, in StepSister from Planet Weird, the main villain was defeated with a lawn blower. WTH?

I hope to see Treasure Planet. The animation looks superb but from what I heard about Atlantis, this might not end up being so good. Also, why is it that everythin American is considered "anime-inspired" if it has complex background art and action for an older audience?

the Lion King is the shiznit. I also really liked Aladdin. then of course those stupid sequels came out, and basically made me not want to watch it anymore. man, I think Return of Jafar is probably the worst sequel to an animated movie ever done. except for Land Before Time, but we're talkin' about Disney here.

oh, I also really like Hercules, that was a good one, too.

I don't think Spawn was anime-inspired. Nor Batman or Superman. But they aren't Disney. They're two different styles which bounce off each other- some anime is quite Wersternised and some American animations are quite similar to anime. I've not seen or heard anything about Treasure Planet. But usually when US things are inspired by anime, they're pretty bad. Totally Spies, anyone?

I didn't like the animation in Hercules, Pocahontas, and Mulan to some extent. Mushu was really over the top in a bad way. If he'd been more like Donket in Shrek then it would've been okay. I love the song, though- "We are men..." Great stuff.

I pity da fool that thinks Ducktales owns Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers. :mrt:
lol, I remember when I used to watch it, the voice actors would do the wrong lines or something, like Chip would say something, but it would be in Dale's voice. that always used to confuse me. *starts humming theme song* :whoops:

Now I'm having giddy childhood flashbacks of Ducktales and Chin n' Dale :D
I loved those shows. No other animated series by Disney was even close to their greatness (take that, Tale Spin). I can still hear the Ducktales theme song in my head. :)

People constantly say that Disney's animated films are "anime-inspired" or soem jazz like that. Disney has always been good at background art. Look at Alice in Wonderland (which was re-released in theatres in the 70s and advertised to stoners because the colors were trippier than a Jimmi Hendrix song) and Snow White. Disney was a pioneer in complex backgrounds.

Plus they get a lot of their stuff animated in Japan.

Of all of Disney's shows none, and I mean absolutely none of them can even begin to touch "Gargoyles". Possibly the most mature Disney show, Gargoyles was not only the most well-written of them, but had the best animation and a ton of religious, and literature allusions that were fun to guess at.

Darkwing Duck was another favorite of mine in the past. My favorite villain was NegaDuck, Darkwing's evil twin. Some of Disney's current shows are good, especially the Proud Family. Tommy Davidson is hilarious as Oscar Proud. I didn't like Kim Possible at first until it came to ABC Kids. I laughed at that episode where Dr. Dracon steals components from a Japanese video game software company and made a giant robot that had a smiling anime face that kept saying "Kunichiwa" (sp?).

I want to see Treasure Planet. I think that is going to be pretty good.

I haven't seen Atlantis though. I didn't want to see it. I don't think it was very good.

Some of the original movies, like the original Peter Pan had pretty good animation. Some of the others, like Beuty and the Beast I didn't like much. I don't think that they did a good job with the animation.

Jeremy Irons voiced Scar. Brilliant move, that was. I agree - Matthew Broderick only just scratched it as Simba. Then he starred in Godzilla. And that went down the pan big-time.

Fave Disney movies? Well, certainly The Lion King, probably stuff like "Toy Story" and "Monsters Inc." Hmm - I'm currently writing a series for them - doing the cartoons for it too - very cool company...

I've heard little about this new film - what's the deal with it? [I don't mean Lilo and Stitch]. I am most curious...

Yeah. I just saw Santa Claus 2. It was pretty good. Some of the parts in it though I thought were kind of ridiculus. Like "Tream a Tree Go to Jail". That was funny but pretty stupid.

Atlantis:
I didn't see this movie because my friend told me that it was a faliure. They just showed it so they got people's money. But I guess he was wrong. I'll have to rent it sometime.
