L.A. Rod.
Think about this though: How good would Real Folk Blues Part two be without Balled being their. If the proper modifications are made, Jupitor Jazz will hardly be able to support the story told at the epic ending(although, if the proper modifications are made, Jupitor Jazz would be changed into Ballad in the long run.) Without bofa, the final two sessions would be nothing more than a couple of drops in the bucket. Don't get me wrong, I am the a big fan of the final session, but it does not leave anymore questions for one to ask as Balled does. What really has you going is drama and the story(which was greatly executed, shall I point out), a story that was already set by Balled. To make a long story short, Balled is a key episode no matter how we slice it in Cowboy Bebop. As for the symbolism in Cowboy Funk, it has no strong meaning. It should hardly be called symbolism when it is blantantly stated by Faye that they have common personalities, and it isn't hard to see. The whole "two cowboys who are a lot alike " is meant for entertainment. Real symbolism of Spike facing himself can be found in the final sessions, as he must look inside himself to see the path that has been drawn out for him since the beginning.
It's called Cowboy Funk, but please remain on topic here. We are discussing Ballad of Fallen Angels, and while you can stray slightly off topic, not mentioning it at all is an absolute 'no.'
Guest Watinabe
I only wanted to get a name for the episode I tried so vagly to describe but I apologize.
Guest CardcaptorStace
This is my favourite Cowboy Bebop episode. It explores so many different levels. It made me laugh at the end and cry at Spike... Wow I have a picture of Spike sat near my computer of this episode...
Heaven's Cloud
I don't understand how you can call ANY Cowboy Bebop episode a filler. That is just ridiculous, there are only twenty-six episodes in the entire series. SithChange, I think you really are just arguing for the sake of arguing here...Ballad of Fallen Angels is the true introduction of the main conflict of Bebop. The interwoven connection between the Bebop charecters lies in the past. Every member of Bebop struggles to come to terms with there past in order to continue with their lives. Since Spike is the obvious main charecter in Bebop, any story that deals with his past is important to the series...
Change
Ok, it's not filler, it's a good episode (in the top 3). I just don't think it is the best.
Solid
i truly liked that episode, but it has a different tone, it depends on what prespective you look at that, if i could make the best bebop episode contest it should have some categories, this can win the best indtrudaction, vicious is pure evil, and this episode intruducing vicious to the watcher, amazingly done the katana vs gun fight is beutiful, the ending made me wanna see more i could see pictures but couldnt explain them. this what makes the episode so good, but, i have to say that the best episode is the last one, you get to see everything ends a very sad episode but i liked it very much, and the combination of yokko kanno music in the episode was woderfull, this what makes it better the the ballad of fallen angels. but if i could pick 3 episodes to watch it would be this and the last 2.
