Alexander
I've been stolen from as well...the problem is I'm very trusting and ....well, am infamous for my collection. (Only locally, however!) I've lost three packs of Pharoah's Servant( including my first Super Rare from it), which accounts to half of the PSV packs I've been able to find. I've also lost a Buster Blader and a few others...NEARLY lost my Black Skull Dragon. The stealings have never crippled my, though they REALLY GET ME MAD! (I'd like to point out that later that very day the packs were stolen, I pulled Thousand Eyes Restrict from my *prize* boosters, from placing third in the tournament. Take THAT lowly thieves!) Domon
Oh i have a friend who had ALL of the Exodial pieces and he happened to have left his deck which contained all of the pieces on his front porch for just a few minutes when he ran into his house to answer his phone and when he went back out the entire deck was gone! How evil is that? Personally i think that whoever did it should get a swift punch in the face. Oh i know this is in the same post but anyways you know how i said my Solmen Judgement was stolen? Well guess what, i found out who did it. It was a guy i never expected to do this to me. he brought all of his cards so that he could trade, well i happened to be going though one of the decks and there it was, my card. I asked him what booster pack he found it in and he said MRL when actually it was from MRD. That right there told me that he stole it well i guess his guilty concensice kicked in and he just gave the card to me. Now if he would only give me my Fairy Meteor Crush, i have one already but thats because i bought it at a store, i want the one that i had orginally back from that coniving ba!$!$!$ !!! I can't believe that! and here i was thinking he was a good friend of mine. I...Excuse me...:bawl:

Jeebs
I've had a couple cards stolen from me. There was my Judge Man, 2 Dark Holes, Card Destruction, and I had just realized yesterday that my Fairy Meteor Crush is gone. About the 2 Dark Holes. I had 1 in my deck and 1 in my extra cards. I had let a couple people look through my cards. I was in a duel and one of the people that had looked through my cards said that he accidentally left his Dark Hole in my cards, so I just gave him the one in my deck. That night I went through all my cards and there were no Dark Holes. The next day I was going to ask him about it, but he said he didn't know about it. Then another boy that had looked through my cards came up to me and offered to trade for my Ameba. Guess what he offered me: 2 Dark Holes! I think that he's the one who took them, but I don't have enough evidence to prove it. I don't want to tell the teacher about it, because he said that if he heard of any more cards being stolen, he wouldn't let us bring them in anymore. Bandit Joeykuba
So far I've had one card stolen from me. I let my friend borrow my Laberinth Wall for a dance ((everyone deuls at dances...)) and the next day she told me that someone stole it. She did do a nice thing tough. She traded her Manevolent Nuzzler to get another Laberinth Wall and gave it to me in place of the one that was stolen. What ticks me off is she had some of her cards stolen also! The cards were: 1 BEWD, 1 Dark Magician, 1 Summoned Skull, and several other cards. We found out the kid who took them but I don't know if she's gotten them back yet. Jeebs
I'm not taking most of my cards to school anymore. I'm really mad because last Friday morning I decided that that would be the last day I took my books of cards to school. Later that day my Thousand-Eyes Restrict was stolen out of one of those books. Catzbane
Originally posted by Thumper I was always confused when ppl do this i mean its a small peice of card sure it has pretty print on the other side but hey is it worth stealing i mean really .....
THANK-YOU! Someone said it! Accually, I don't even know why they BUY the cards. They're a waste of money. Like I say to my friends when they over react when they get new cards, "Whats the big deal, they're pieces of paper with purdy pictures on them." Then I get yelled at. LOL. One of the obvious reasons they steal something, is to get it for FREE. Sure it may only cost fifty cent, but you can also get it for FREE. I have gotten all my cards for free, so I don't really get mad when something happens to them. I may be disapointed if one of my favorites gets ruined or stolen, but I get over it quickly. I am slowly building a cruddy deck! Not even pokemon cards I payed for, I gave forty pieces of computer paper to one kid who loves to draw, so do I, and he gave me five pokemon cards...they got stolen, I didn't care. Another reason is that they don't like you, they just don't.:therock: They might LIKE to steal also, hey, I was tempted to steal some YGO cards, but I didn't want to be beaten up...Things get stolen, ruined, and lost. Deal with it....haha, get it? DEAL...cards...eh.-_-;;
Solo Tremaine
What you have to understand is that even though these might only look like pieces of card with a picture on to you (which, essentially, they are), they can still mean a lot to people. And people get upset when something they care about is taken from them. Surely you'd understand that. Be careful what you say. Just because you don't like or disagree with something doesn't mean that it's futile or stupid. I'd get upset if my cards were stolen, if for no other reason than I like the designs on the cards. But it takes people a long time to build up their decks, and through building them up and getting rare cards you become more attached to them. Hence, it is very annoying and distressing to lose somethin you've spent a long time building up. If you've gotten them for free, fair enough- you've not lost anything much -but people pay for these cards, and stealing is never something to endorse, whether you paid for it in the first place or not. DeathBug
Hey, hang on: Catzbane has a perfectly valid veiwpoint. (Although I would have advised a bit more discression than being so blatent about it on a Yu-Gi-Oh board...that's just begging for trouble..) Catzbane also made a good point: There is no reason why anyone should steal a trading card. When you steal something, you're telling the world that that's how much your integrity is worth. apparently, some people's integrity is worth a playing card. (Dude, if you're gonna' loose your integrity, loose it for, like, a bike or something...sheesh...) Besides, it would be improper to call Catzbane 'close-minded', because the view expressed is one that *differs* from the majority opinion. By definition, that makes it 'open-minded'. Finally, when you get right down to it, they *are* just cards. To some people, however, they represent hours spent hunting down rare cards and plotting their strategy. To others they represent a financial investment. To others, a hobby. Catzbane does not have an emotional attachment to his/her cards, so they don't represent much to him/her. And that's fine. It's the same as having an emotional attachment to a $2 stuffed animal or a love letter from a significant other. Value is in the eye of the beholder. (BTW, I *do* actually own cards and have a deck, so don't denounce my view.) Catzbane, though, can you be a *wee* bit more diplomatic in the future? Thanks a bunch. Solo Tremaine
I wasn't meaning to imply that Catzbane was being close-minded- I meant to ask for more discretion (as you did), but I guess it didn't come over like that. Sorry for any misunderstandings, but do try and be less overt with your feelings, please Catzbane, as it could be seen as offensive. And (with regards to Beelzemon's post below) the same for you too, Nexus. As much as you may disagree with someone, they are still opinions and shouldn't be taken too personally. As a general note to everyone, be careful how you phrase your arguements, please. We don't want to start any flaming. Anyway, stealing isn't so much about what you steal- it's how much money you can make from it, which was my point- if someone cares about something they'll pay a lot of money for it. And some people do care a lot for their cards. I'm in two minds about this- I dislike stealing greatly, but I would never buy any cards for more than £3, because I don't think they're actually worth that much materially. That said, I wouldn't want my cards being stolen, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else either, regardless of whether you were that attached to them or not. Catzbane
I am sorry if I ofended anyone. I never said that other people shouldn't care. Only that I don't care. The post was more of why someone might steal something like that...And what I said wasn't ment to be taken very seriously. I guess I am just a bit annoyed when someone says that they beat a person up over a card, well, not just a card, something else like a pencil. (It happened once...) I understand if you get mad when its special to you. Its just that people get hurt over things like THAT. Eh. Thats one of the reasons my school does not allow them anymore. I even get hurt for asking to look at someone's cards. :p Yes, I guess it is asking for trouble on a Yu-Gi-Oh board. Heh. Again, I am sorry if I offended someone, I really did not mean to.
Solo Tremaine
That's fair enough ;) I don't think it's right to beat someone up over anything like that, no matter how much you care about it. I would do my best not to punch someone if I found out they'd stolen my cards (I can't guarantee that I wouldn't), but sometimes I guess you can't help yourself. Physical instincts are very strong. I would confront them about it and then try to find all my cards. But beating someone up won't solve anything in the long-term. Sure, they may stop stealing cards for a while, but fears and bruises die down eventually. Some people can get very protective over their things. Even so, you shouldn't have been hurt for asking to look at someone's cards. It's just... stupid, really. It's not so bad for me now- I'm 17 and people around here keep much more to themselves about things, so I've not much fear of getting bullied or anything. At secondary school appearences and street cred are that much more important, so if something isn't mainstream then you're going to be in trouble cuaght liking it. That's probably why stealing happens- stealing cards seems to be much more acceptable to the main bulk of young teenagers than buying cards to play with them; or because they can't be bothered to actually buy boosters to collect them they nick someone else's cards. Posthumous
No!!!!!!! After I was leaving school my friend wanted to see my new cards. We're not allowed to have them in school, so we were hiding them. I said "Give me my cards back" and he said he'll give it to me in the hall, where there's no teachers. He hands them to me and runs off.I was wondering why he ran off.I check my cards.I find out he stole my Relinquised,Cyber Jar and Karate Man!My Relinquised! I chased him outside looking. He was walking with another friend.I grabbed his arm and told him to give back my cards. He doesn't say anything and runs off.I grabbed again, but the principal was watching so I let him go.Then he just jetted off and I couldn't find him. Next day(yesterday) I told him give my cards back.He tells me he didn't take them.Yeah like I'm suppose to believe him.I tell 6 major YGO players at school. He complains to me saying he didn't take them.I re-checked my cards after I got home.Nope no Relinquised,Cyber Jar or Karate Man. Today I didn't go to school because of a sprained ankle.I'll get him tommorow...argh...
