Omar Harris Posted November 11, 2002 Share Posted November 11, 2002 First, I would base this movie around all 3 generations of the Mishima family. Jin just has more backstory than Heihachi and Kazuya to pull off the main character, which is why it should be set around Tekken 3 or 4 era. Kuma and Panda (is that her name?) should be done with CGI. Jet Li would make a good Kazuya and Devil. Since there are many non-Asian characters, I think this would end up being an English movie, so if Jet Li improved a bit, he's a good actor in English but could make some changes, he'd do well. He plays villains better than a lot of American actors. Jin should be played by someone from the Orient. I can't think of any good Asian actors who have the age to pull him off. Denise Richards would make a pretty good Nina, and Michelle Yu or someone younger could pull of that pigtailed girl in Tekken 3, her name escapes me now. Chow Yun-Fat would have to play someone noble like Law. Can't leave out Yoshimitsu. I think they should do like Darth Vader. Have someone who play Yoshimitsu with another actor's voice dubbed over. Although it's an Anime one, and it only cost me about 10 bucks (which is the reason I bought it), there is already one. Oh, and this one they are making, I hope it turns out like Street Fighter. That would be great. The Anime one was ok, but not the best. But I want this one to be horrible. I don't hate Tekken or anything, I just think it's foolish to make movies out of fighting games. Kent Posted November 20, 2002 Share Posted November 20, 2002 What I wonder about is why everyone always picks these little asian fellas for roles/charactors that are like 6 foot tall and with pasty white skin. Im not saying everyone should be white or anything so silly, just that I think type casting is good for this rather than the other casting. (dont remember the name) Its good to have someone to look like the charactor, we can have them learn the karate and what not later on. Shoot its not like keanu reeves was a karate boy before the matrix. But they sure made him into one bad dude. I think the fella that played bruce lee in the movie "dragon" would be good for the law part. Lei wouldnt be bad with jet li in the role. But for jin, I would have to pick a dark haired westrener. Maybe keanu, but he would never do the role. So I would say someone thats an unknown little name guy who looks the part. The rock was a good call for king. The rest are all not too hard. (Although it'd help a lot with keeping track of who's who) We need people that can act the part good, and can fight like them. Donnie Yen should be Kazuya but he looks younger than Kazuya is supposed to be to me. Jackie Chan should definitely be Lei seen as they both are comical people, and they look real similar, and Jackie could easily fight like that.
