Valen blinked at her last sentence. She was married?! She sure didn't seem like it. He looked at her in disbelief. This was certainly big news to him.

Valen: You were... married? Wow... congrats...

He started to finally realize all that had happened. All that they had talked about finally sank in. He couldn't tell her now, it would be too akward. He just sat there and looked at the floor. He still wanted to know where that light switch was, if they had one.

Karina saw that Valen seemed kinda shaken by the news, and sighed.

Karina: If only you knew

Valen: knew what?

Karina: Ever been forced to marry a prick that can beat the living crap out of you at any given time?

Valen: What?

Karina: Key words there are "forced" and "beat" I seriously had no choice in the matter, because as you know, women were property according to the king. Fighting back against him was not an option. He knew my past, and made sure I came into no contact with any weaponry... ever.

Karina shuddered a bit, she knew she was probably blabbing too much.

Karina: ...He must have found out in some way that I knew where your IK was hidden and when I would not spill to him, he got his gooney buds in there to make me tell. Obviously I didn't tell, but I didn't exactly come out of it alive now did I?

Valen hugged Karina and whispered something in her ear. He then moved back a little. What had he just done? Had he really just told her what he thought he told her?

"Why did I just do that?" He thought as he smiled at Karina. She couldn't see much of him, but she could see enough to know exactly what he was thinking. Valen scooted back to where he was sitting before, which was only about an inch or so away from Karina.

Meanwhile, back upstairs...

Ari: Hahahahaha! That worked perfectly!

Vahn: Yeah, it did....

Wolf: I can't believe you two expect to get away with that...

Ari: We can...

Wolf: Oh boy, you guys are going to get it when they finally get out...

Vahn: Who says they're getting out?

Wolf: They'll find a way, and when they do.... look out.

Vahn: There is no way out of the basement, right Ari?

Ari: Actually Vahn, there is-- the window.

Vahn: Yeah, true, but did you see the way those two were looking at eachother? They obviously like eachother!

Wolf: ... You two didn't do that just because --

Ari: Yep!

Wolf: And how long do you plan on keeping them down there?

Vahn: Until they know how they feel about eachother and admit it.

Ari: And with those two, it's going to take a while!

Wolf: Just remember, I had nothing to do with this...

What Valen had said to Karina earlier was "Now we're away from all that. Times have changed."

Rajaah departed unseen into the night half wishing someone had noticed but now it was to late he'd have to face the horrid fate his father cursed him with. He'd never had come to this time if he realized that, but he found out deep within himself he know his fate.

Rajaah: I'll fight it to the end father mistake that not!

Wailing Death: you'll fail Rajaah, when it comes down to the important matters you always fail.

Rajaah stood silent a single tear fall down upon the blade.

Wailing Death: you cry? How foolish.

Rajaah: My life means nothing and you mean nothing to me, I cry because you're my father but your right.

Wailing Death: << Rises from its scabbard >> meet your fate Rajaah with my rebirth!

The forest silent with the end of an agonizing scream emitting from its depths.

Rajaah backing away from the blade holding Winter Angel in a defensive stance drops to his knees, he looks down at his gut only to see a stream of blood.

Wailing Death: You should have listened to me Rajaah and killed the girl, now I'll have to kill all of them, what were you hoping to find!

Rajaah: An escape from you father, and if not that peace in my death.

Wailing Death: And have you found it! Have you!

Rajaah: NO! Father I haven't! The only thing in found was sadness in seeing the lives of others how had a chose because they had people who car? << The words cut off short by the sound of pain in his voice >>

Rajaah grabbed the blade that impaled deep within his chest almost to the heart, he winces in pain tears again falling him his face, as the world began to grow dark to him. His thought wondered to the others and the first time he meet each of them Karina risked a lot trusting him and the others never questioned him even thou he had fought against them before.

Rajaah: I wish ?. wish ? I'd seen more? << Oddly smiles >> goo?d .. bye my ? << The blade drives in deeper >> friends.

The Wailing Death erupted into a awesome energy as it prepared for the finial blow allowing Rajaah to feel the dreaded pain of death.

Aerow: Now it has taken long enough! Lets end this!

Tyron: Allright! Strike from Heaven!

A huge lightning bolt hitted Aerow and then a few other and even bigger ones followed the first one. Aerow was greately damaged, but Tyron didnt even wait for Aerow to recover cause he emmidiately striked with his Demolition blade. Aerow letted himself drop for it was the only thing he could do in this condition. Because of that, Tyron just missed. He turned around and now pointed his Phantom blade at Aerow's nose. Aerow, just recovered from the lightning bolts paralyzing effect, grabbed his Pain dagger which layed an arm lenght away and before tyron noticed it, he blocked the Phantom blade and pushed it away. He then had the room to get his Twin Viper and he holded it infront of him vertically. He began to chant some words. Tyron wanted to stop him, but got thrown back by a magical forcefield. The battle finally got to his highest.

Karina smiled at Valen and placed her hand on his arm.

Karina: Thank you...

They both started to come closer together... closer... closer.

Meanwhile upstairs...

Vahn: I think now would be a great time to turn on the radio we hid down there!

Ari: Great idea

Wolf: Radio? Oh no! Guys... I wouldn't!

Vahn: But you're not us and we are going to do this!

Ari: Yup

Ari picked up the remote that was next to her and aimed it at the basement door, she fiddled around with the volume control, she didnt really remember how to use it properly, and all the while hoping that it was not going to be too quiet.

Vahn: You sure you know how to use that?

Ari: Yup, pretty sure...

Ari hit the power button just as the remote slipped from her hand and hit the floor, completely switching the channel.

Ari: Oh crud... thats not good!

Ari fumbled for the clicker just as the music of a heavy metal band was heard through the closed basement door.

Vahn: (sarcastically) Nice going Ari!

Meanwhile back downstairs...

Suddenly intense loud screaming blasted from an unseen source, scaring the living daylights out of both Valen and Karina. They both leapt up from the couch forgetting for a brief moment where they were and what was happening, and instinctively reached for their weaponry, only to remember that they were unarmed!

Back upstairs...

Ari: Oh crud oh crud oh crud!

Vahn: Yeah just keep repeating that! ...When you should be turning that radio off! Give me that!

Vahn picked the remote up and clicked the power off.

Vahn: Ok that plan was a total flop!

Ari: You think those two will be Ok?

Wolf: I'd be more worried about the radio right now!

Back downstairs...

Karina: What in all of creation was that!?

Valen: I have no idea... But it seems to have stopped.

They both sighed in relief as they settled back down on the couch. Karina rested her head on the arm of the couch and sighed.

"Ok that was close..." she thought.

He sat there farther from Karina on the other side of the couch. He thought about what had just happened, as if it didn't happen. He began to hum something a song that he knew.

Karina: Valen?

Valen: Yes?

Karina: What was that song?

Valen: I don't know... I just know it...

Karina: Well, where did you learn it?

Valen: Don't know that either...

They both sighed and leaned against the back of the couch. This was getting them nowhere, but they didn't mind. Eventhough he was off in his own little world again shortly after, he still remembered everything they've been through together. Then he remembered how everyone was against one another when they shouldn't have been. He couldn't stop thinking, so he did the only thing he could do. Start humming the song again. It didn't help much, but it helped enough.

Moments later, he got up and went stand by the window staring out into the blackness of the sky. He was making a wish of some sort. Sure he knew it would probably never come true, but it was fun to hope. After a few minutes of silence, Valen spoke up.

Valen: It's getting late... the others should be going to bed soon...

Karina: Not Ari... you know how she is.

Valen: True... I hope they're not giving Wolf a hard time...

He walked around for a little while trying not to bump into anything. But the odds for Valen not running into something was very slim.

Karina was thinking of what could possibly be going on upstairs and shuddered.

Karina: Valen think about it! We're talking about Ari and Vahn! The two who locked us down here, what do you think they'd be doing? Playing tea party?! I seriously don't think so!

Karina knew that she was starting to get a tad angery so she cooled it and shut up immediately. Usually if she stayed quiet for a while she could keep her temper under control. She heard Valen moving around, why did he keep walking around the basement all the time? He was seriously asking to bump into something. Though she couldn't see him, she could hear him moving around off to her left.

Karina: Valen, be careful! ...What are you doing over there anyways?

When he didn't reply she strained to try to see him and what he was trying to do. She couldn't spot him, so she got up, went to the stairs and sat down on the bottom step. She was kinda upset for Valen, sure it was bad having violent memories, but she still had her good childhood memories as well, so it all balanced out for her. But all that Valen had were those violent memories, according to him he couldn't even remember his own family. That was disturbing for her to even think about.

Karina: Poor guy...

Rajaah's last hope faded with his memory as the sword plunged into his chest one last scream was heard throughout the forest as Rajaah life was taken. The Wailing Death dimmed to a soft gray color as Rajaah soul was devoured by the power of the blade exchanging the soul trapped within it with Rajaah's and vice visa.

From Rajaah's mouth: I am reborn! The Wail of the living will be heard in an endless twilight! << Looking up at the Moon >> Moon! I call to you, give me the power lost from mortal thought! Hidden from mortal fools, I Devox Kiln! Call upon the power of the eternal night to fuel my essence!

The ancient words spoken and the moon high above the living a horrid crackling sound emitted from high above the earth, a dark forgotten energy whirled across the skies.

Devox: << Looking down at the Wailing Death >> my foolish child forever imprisoned within your new cold tomb, how does it feel to be failed? I warned you that they'd never do you any good and now look Rajaah. I told you Karina would be the cause of the demon awaking. But you never thought that by helping her it would awaken. The demon was me you fool! You had to let down your guard long enough for me to drain you! << Looking back up at the skies >> the portal will soon open and the world will know true darkness, but not by my hands, no! I must gather the stones of power. Too bad really you'll never see them again and they'll never care!

Devox raises his hands and fades away, leaving the blade lying on the ground.

With the Blade: I only wanted to ??

The sword glows dimly then the color fully fades to gray a crack appears down its shaft.

OOC: wow, frist character ever to actually die off an a RPG online.

He was still thinking about a lot of things, but figured, it's in the past now and it can't be changed. He looked up at the stars once more and walked around a bit.

After a little while of walking around, he finally got bored and went sit on the couch again. This was going to be a long night and he knew it.

Karina was still irked by the facts lay before her, but she knew that there was nothing she could do. But it still annoyed her immensely, she couldn't help that. She sighed unhappily, got up off of the step, and dusted herself off.

Karina: This is going nowhere!

Karina wandered back over to the couch and quietly sat down right next to Valen. She smiled slightly..

Karina: ...Life really sucks sometimes doesnt it?

Valen: Yeah

Karina was kind of getting a bit drowsy, but she didnt care. She reached over and hugged Valen as if to say "I'm here for you" She then sighed again and rested her head on his shoulder. She didn't know why she had done that, but she had. She could faintly hear his heart beating from there. She closed her eyes and whispered.

Karina: Can you promise me... that you won't leave me?...

If Valen had replied to her question... Then Karina never heard it, because she had fallen asleep.

Meanwhile upstairs...

Ari: Vahn? got any aces?

Vahn: Quit asking me that! *sigh* Go fish

Wolf: Ari, got any ones?

Ari: No... go fish!

Vahn: Haven't we been playing this game long enough?!

Wolf and Ari: ..... NAH!

Ari: Haha! I win!

Vahn: That's the eighth time in a row!

Wolf: Geez, Ari...

Vahn: It's getting late.

Wolf: Yeah, you two should get to bed.

Ari: Not until we go peek in on those two!

Vahn: Yeah! Good idea!

Ari quietly unlocked the door to the basement. After she was sure that they hadnt heard them she opened it slowly and waved Vahn and Wolf in. All three made their way noiselessly down the stairs. As soon as they saw Valen and Karina asleep on the couch Ari and Vahn slapped each other a high five. Pretty sure that there wasnt much else to see they all made their way back upstairs. Ari locked the door once again and smiled at Wolf and Vahn

Ari: We did it!!

Vahn: Oh yeah! It worked!

Wolf: You guys...

Ari: Oh come on Wolf?! Didnt you see it?! It was great!

Wolf: Yes it was great, but you said that after you got a "peek" at them you would go to bed, now get going!

Vahn: Geez rain on our parade why dont you?

Ari sighed in defeat

Ari: come on, hes right...

Aerow opened his hands. Energy was coming of them. tyron looked at him because he knew that he couldnt do anything against it, except waiting for the attack and then dodge it.
At the moment tyron prepared, Aerow had green eyes and he was surrounded by massive energy. The power coming of him was amazing. tyron was just able to makes sure he didnt loose balance. Then he raised his hands at chest height and he unleashed a Humangous attack. tyron quickly hollowed a name of one of his magic attacks, but he could only say the first few letters and after that a huge explosion. Aerow was breathing hardly. He had putten allmost all of his energy in that attack. He grabbed his pain dagger of the ground and putted it in his belt. Then he turned around and walked off.
But suddenly, out of the dust that was brought up by the wind, a massive lightning bolt, formed in a man on a car with a hammer in his hand, hitted Aerow in the back when he was unprotected. He screamed it out as the ray sended him through the one tree and the other. he kept flying through the air. And after he was sended through more than hundred trees, he landed into the last one which was strong enough to withhold from falling over.

Aerow: ARGH!

Tyron: Heh... Didnt.... see that.... co... ming.... huh?

Aerow: You.... will pay for it next... time!

With that he teleported away. What Tyron didnt know was that in the few moments, he was speaking, the sinister voice spoke to Aerow; telling him to pull back and he teleported him.

Tyron: Now... Lets see Visor... Hmph!

wolf watched the two head off to bed. then he went and unlocked the door for in the morning. he could see the two were...well, we won't say it, yet. but he was also there friend, and knew better then to let this prank drag until morning. he walked off and went out side. he found a grass mound and sat down to think. first thing that came to mind was Lena. he saw the way Karina and Valen were laying together, and it reminded him of him and Lena. he remembered from when they meet tell his death bed. he also remembered the story his grandchild told him of. he would find this thing and avenge Lena, but for now he focused on the happy. he also began to think of Karina and Valen's situation. he mentaly hit himself for not seeing it earlier, and letting Ari and Vahn take care of it. he knew he would be hearing this tomorrow, "why didn't you stop them", "how could you be apart of this" would be the basic remarks. Wolf laughed at the thought then smiled. he was glad to be apart of a group of friends with such love and carring for each other. he only wishes that they could find the others soon. he looked at the moon and relized how late it was. he walked into the house and couldn't help but look at Karina and Valen one more time. he went down without a sound and looked at them. the darkness didn't affect him so he saw perfectly. he smiled then found a blanket to put over them.

Wolf: my prayiers go to your hearts, and hope that you find happiness with in each others.

Wolf bowed, and went up stairs and fell asleep on the couch. his legs drapped over the end put it didn't bother him. his dreams were happy and humoris. he began to dream of the happy times that could be, and that might be.

The sun peeked over the trees into the windows of the cottage, slightly lighting the basement and other rooms. The sunlight crept into the upstairs rooms. The sunlight shone in Vahn and Ari's eyes, waking them up almost instantly.

They both ran out of their rooms and almost slammed into eachother. They were both anxious to get downstairs and spy on Valen and Karina. All the while, Wolf was still asleep and didn't hear the two yelling at eachother to watch where the other is going, and to shut up.

They finally made it downstairs only to find the door closed and that ruined their plans right there. They knew how noisy the door was...

Karina woke up, opened her eyes and after a second of confusion recalled the events of being locked down there the night before. She felt someone hugging her and smiled as she realized that it was Valen. She looked over at him, amazeingly, he was still asleep, she could tell by how he was breathing. She sighed as she rested her head back on his shoulder again, and listened to his breathing. She couldnt help but feel... safe, as strange as it was to her. She hoped that her moving around hadn't woken him up. She looked at him again, to her, he looked so peaceful asleep. Unlike the rest of the time that she had known him... back then... when there was fighting and peace seemed irrelivant.

Meanwhile upstairs..

Ari: Aw man, this sucks! If only that door didnt creak...

Vahn: Oh quit whineing

Ari: I'm not whineing! Look im just stating fact!

Ari sighed as she sat down next to the door and put her staff down next to her.

Ari: So what now?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Karina really wished now that she had gotten to know Valen better when she had had the chance to, but she had been stupid and stubborn and the chance had passed her by, and by then it was too late, Lacroix had finished him off. She never even had a chance to say goodbye to him... She hugged Valen as if checking to see if he was really there, and smiled as if she had decided that: "yup hes really here, and I'm not dreaming" she loosened her embrace slightly, so she wouldnt awaken him. She seriously didn't want to disturb him. She just had a feeling that they needed to rest because something was coming.

Ari went to grab her staff when suddenly it jolted to the upright positon, starteling the two kids.

Vahn: I hope you just did that...

Ari: ... It wasn't me...

Meanwhile downstairs...

Valen had slightly awoke and found Karina still next to him. He didn't know that she was already awake, so he figured why not just let her sleep... He glanced at her and hugged her a little tighter than before, hoping to not wake her.

Karina: ...Morning Valen

Ari: Okay... Vahn this is freaky!

Vahn: Seriously Ari... what did you do!?

Ari: I swear I didnt do anything!

Vahn: Tell that to the staff!

Wolf had overhead the two yelling his name and jumped to his feet and looked around like something was about to attack him. When he realized it was Ari and Vahn, he ran to their room as fast as he could.

Karina reached down and moved the blanket that Wolf had placed on them the night before.

Karina: I can't give an exact time, but I'll just say I was awake long before you.

She was about to say something more, but just then they both heard Ari and Vahn call for them. It didnt sound right...

Karina: What was that all about?!

Valen: Oh no... You think we should?...

Karina: Yeah...

They both made their way up the creaky basement stairs and found, much to their delight, that the door was unlocked and open now. But there was no time to enjoy their freedom, they had to see what their desendants were yelling about. They heard Wolf and them speaking, so they followed their voices to the room where. When they reached the doorway they were in for a surprise...

Valen: What the....

Karina: Did you kids do?

Ari: Nothing!

Vahn: Yeah, it just kinda jolted up when Ari went to pick it up so we could go train--

Before Vahn could finish his sentence, Ari had whacked him on the head.

Ari: (To Vahn) SH!

Karina: So you two were going to do unsupervised training!?

Valen: Reminds me of someone I know...

Wolf: Me too...

They all looked at Karina and began to smirk. Moments later the staff began to shake violently as light started to shoot from it.

Valen: It's gonna blow!

Wolf: No it isn't...

Wolf was right, the staff wasn't going to blow. Instead, it showed a small movie-like thing of Rajaah yelling and then getting stabbed by his own sword.

Valen: What was that...? Did you all hear that?

Karina: I heard it too...

Ari: Did that thing just speak to us...?

Vahn: I think so...

Wolf: ... There's more...

Suddenly the images switched and showed eight places and a shirne in each. Each shrine held a particular peice of a larger stone. These were stones to represent each element and held the power of a summon within them.

Karina: What's with the shrines?

Karina was about to step forward to get a closer look but Valen held his arm out to stop her.

Valen: Wait...

Karina: huh?...alright

Karina stepped back and watched the scenes flash by as they were displayed by the staff, the majority of the places she had never seen before, let alone even knew existed.

Ari: This... is... incredible

Karina: Where are these places?

Wolf: Maybe it will tell us, I wonder what caused this to happen...

And it did. The staff told all about each shrine and the creatues that inhabit them. Fire shrine had fire creatues, Water shrine had Water and Ice creatures, etc. The staff explained in detail about each stone and then the elemental attributes of each. It also told the legend of the eight peices being one stone during the Age of War.

Vahn: I read about the Age of War in history class! Remember Ari?

Ari: Yeah, it's the time of summons used to fight wars. One day, a powerful summoner summoned a terrible force that destroyed five of the seven major nations of the world at that time. The summoner hadn't meant for that to happen, so him and his people broke the stone into eight peices, one for each element, and sealed them away in the shrines protected by a gaurdian of that element and minion monsters.

Vahn: Though it's just a legend, it sounds cool. Why don't we check it out sometime?

Wolf: Vahn, that would not be a good idea...

Karina: Yeah, we've dealt with summons before...

Valen: They cause nothing but troubles and destruction wherever they go.

Ari: Depends on who summons them.

Vahn: Yeah, I could summon one and heal, whereas Ari could summon that same one and use it to destory the world.

Ari: Vahn, don't give me any ideas here...

The staff showed a volcano with what looked like a shrine just above it. "Seek out the fire of the gods."

Vahn: You heard it!

Moments after the final message had been said by the staff, it fell to the ground, lifeless, as if nothing had ever happened. The lights went on again and the room went back to the way it had been before the staff went and acted up.

Ari: Um... so... does that mean we have a quest lay before us now?

Karina: Pretty much... wait... yeah that's a definate.

Vahn: Yes!

Ari: Oh cool!

Valen: Now wait a second! You think it's going to be fun?

Wolf: This is real, it's no legend.

Karina: It's a life or death situation... as you've witnessed.

Ari: You three dont understand! My father is studying that fight! I know what went down that day!

Karina: *murmuring* you mean who went down.

Vahn: Syk!

Karina: huh? What the heck does that mean?

Vahn: Its slang Karina. Learn it. Use it. Love it

Valen: Vahn!

Valen whapped Vahn upside the head, as payback. As Karina rolled her eyes at the two guys antics.

Karina: No thank you I really dont want to learn your wierd slang terms.

Ari: You think the way we say things is weird?! What about that weird way you guys talk sometimes with your thou's and ye's and all that stuff... whats with that?

After reciveing several weird looks from Valen, Wolf, Karina and Vahn she sighed in defeat and shook her head as if to say "forget it" Karina looked over to Valen only to realize that they were both still in the formal outfits! Karina felt her face quickly going red and before anyone could see her blush, tore out of the room without another word said, and did a mad dash to her room. She slammed the door shut behind her and locked it before quickly getting changed back into her usual clothes.

Karina: That was so embarrassing... how could I have humiliated myself like that?!

She knew her face was bright red with embarrasment and she hated it, she hated being embarrased it was one of her pet peeves or something like that. She looked on the chair where she had set it but couldnt find her throwing stars bag. She grumbled something in the four letter words catagory as she dropped to her hands and knees and peered under the bed, and just as she thought, it was there. she grabbed it out with and air of triumph and slung it over her shoulder as she grumbled.

Karina: I seriously hate when things like these happen. A quest? is that what it's to be called? I hope this one ends without the death of a friend.
