You have too many tribute monsters, plus two illigal cards, plus two BEUD which are only in Japanese, so, in most English tournements, they cannot be played. I suggest cutting most of the tribute monsters, the God cards, Exodia (unless you want an Exodia deck), and rebuilding the deck with a viable straightforward theme. Right now, I'd give your deck 1/10 (I hate to give 0/10). You can do more and actually tell me cards you think I should put in. Anyway, I suggest you remove hunder Nyan Nyan, Magician Of Faith and Asura Priest from your side deck and put in three Thunder Dragons. Your tip is noted but will not be applied. The Thunder Dragon trick is outdated and not needed. Chaos decks, due to an inferior rush must have more support. The Thunder Dragons will just become dead weight while MoF can recycle my much needed staples in the late game. This will be very essential especially after my CED goes off and we are reduced to top decking. OMG...--; ROD IS a staple and that is the bottom line as a FACT. First of all, who cares about the LP loss, it takes out your opponent's monster and clears an open path for you to compound the damage next turn. Unfortunately we don't have the Yu-Gi-Oh discussion scope that we used to, so these things are a fair amount harder than they were. The_IvIATRIX, even if the Dark Magicians are different styles you can only have up to three- what matters is the name of the actual card. So even if you had five different DM variations, you'd only be allowed up to three in any Deck. Other than that you just have too many cards and not enough ways to get all the ones you need out onto the field. You'd need at least a Graceful Charity, Cyber Jar, Pot of Greed and Jar of Greed to even think about getting all of those out in the right way. You're running the risk of having too many monsters and not enough turns to get them all out in. If it's a casual deck then it's not quite so crucial, but if you want a realy smooth-running competetive Deck you'd need to have about 40 cards in total. Even if it has a different picture, it still counts towards the 3 card limit. Unless its Dark Magician Of Chaos. Also remove both Wingweavers, and take out Thunder Nyan Nyan. Her effect makes her a liability and a waste of space in a deck that isnt a pure light deck. Also remove REBD, not strong enough to be worth 2 tributes. Cut down on the amount of traps you use. Go for traps like Waboku, Mirror Force, Call Of The Haunted, Imperial Order, maybe Ring Of Destruction, if you dont mind taking damage from its effect. You can't just spread out into many themes otherwise your deck will be slow and unfocused and you'll draw cards for different situations when you don't need em. Water is good way to go, since you have LF and ALO. Some cards you can remove right now are Gravekeepers Servant, Whiptail Crow, Second Coin Toss, Horn Of The Unicorn and Dian Keto. I'lkl work on what you guys said. Also, any suggestions on what to lean toward? like Attack or Defence? certain cards that would be good? Any help would be good well, if I'm to remove Second CT should I remove Fairy's Box? The combo does save me, and doubles Fairy's power. Ok I just removed: Gravekeepers Servant Gaurdian of the Throne Room The Dragon Dwelling in the Cave Second Coin Toss Chain Destruction Dian Keto Anything I should add in their stead? anything else I should remove? Its speed elements are in its super-fast rush and ability to get monster removal at the snap of a finger. Calling Reinforcements helps get instant removal or if BK is in from the sideboard, it can get an instant rusher. As the loss of Harpy's Feather Sweep hurts most decks, this deck wasn't hurt as badly due to Air's superior negaters and removers. Female Ninja Yae, Word-Severing Samurai and Sonic Jammer more than make up for Sweep's absense. Loss of Decree, T-Bolt, and Yata hurt a bit more. I was able to replace T-Bolt with Tidal Wave and Emissary of Genocide, so the absense of T-Bolt gives my chances of drawing a removal card a boost. Yata is the only one that hurts, however, I'm still running Steadfast Guard and Confiscate as an annoyance factor, cuz it never hurts to have either a hand advantage or knowing what opponent has in hand. Decree's loss is supplemented more by the enhanced removal and Magic Drain is the next best card because it either forces your opponent to lose another card or have a key magic negated. This will help get my opponent to top-decking quicker than me with the presence of Steadfast/Confiscate and the constant defending they have to do vs. the constant rusher flow. Kuribo, extra damage control, in aggro rushers tend to be "stolen" more than often with Theft or Enemy Controller running rampant so Kuribo gives me some extra security along with the staples, Apostles of Harmony and Scapegoat. Just an explanation on why I didn't put 3 Newts and shoved in 2 Newts and 1 Sapphire. Newt's reverse effect, although not used often can be taken advantage of. However, this makes it vulnerable to Emissary of Genocide. With the absense of T-Bolt in decks, Genocide is making a comeback. I can't afford to lose all 3 Newts in one blow. Staples and sideboard speak fo themselves. The sideboard conversions range from random subs, to a mono-air convo, mono-light convo, and more of a psycho-speed rush convo. The odss of you drawing the right card at the right time are pretty slim. Also, it lacks focus. Earth, Water and Darkness are all solid deck themes, but using all three of them in one deck is going to get you nowhere fast. Since you have more Water monsters than anything else, why not make it a water deck, using a few dark-type monsters for support? Finally, your Magic/Trap/Monster ratios are off. You should have five to seven traps, fifteen to eighteen monsters, and the rest should be Magic. (Magics are the most powerful cards in most decks.) Now, let's take a look at what you've got. ^__^ Working with the idea that this will be a Water deck, which you've got most of the good cards for, we're going to remove most of the Earth and Dark Monsters. Below are the monsters I'd leave in. Cure Mermaid Sinister Serpent Penguin Soldier Aqua Madoor Serpentine Princess Island Turtle Great White 7 Colored Fish X2 Suijin The Legendary Fisherman Dark: (10) Sangan Witch of the Black Forest Cyber Jar Now, these are solid, but there are better Water monsters you might want to look or; some common, some more rare. Look for: Granadora (1900 attack), Aqua Spirit or Fenrir (Special Summons), Maiden of Aqua, MA Bakross (Not the exact name, but it's got 1500 attack points, and can attack directly while Umi is on the field.), Giga-Gagagigo, Mother Grizzly, King Salmon, and the Big Guy, Levia-Dragon Dadelous. Definatly get Tribe-Infecting Virus, as well; it's incredibly powerful, a water type, and will work wonders with the Sinister Serpent you already have. Your Magic cards are a mixed bag. Keep: A Legendary Ocean Change of Heart Dark Hole Graceful Charity Fissure Harpies Feather Duster Mystical Space Typhoon Monster Reborn Tribute to the Doomed Swords of Revealing Light Raigeki What you [i]definately[/i] want is two more Legenday Oceans, and a pair of Terraformings to get them on the field faster. You also want to search for: Pot of Greed, two more Space Typhoons, Nobleman of Crossout, Premature Burial, Salvage, and anything else that supports the Water theme. Now, your traps. Tornado Wall Trap Hole Magic Jammer Seven Tools of the Bandit I would add three Waboku. I personally don't like Tornado Wall, but use it if it works for you. Anyway, experiment with your deck, and have fun. ^__^ Now, onto my three (yes, three) new decks. Warrior/Chaos/Swarm, Thunder/Light, and Demon/Hand Destruction. The loss of Regeki, Delinquint Duo and Yat-Garatsu actually make things stronger on my end, as warriors tend to eat up your hand and get lots of monsters on the field at the same time. The biggest loss will b painful choice, as it speeds up the Soldier. Japanese cards that will help: Foolish Burial, Blade Knight and Command Knight. I plan to replace the Goblins with the Blade Knight, and replace one Maurauding Captain with the Command Knight. However, even without the Yata-lock ability, hand advantage is still hand advantage. Just means I'll have to beat my opponent the old-fashioned way: brutally... Japanese cards that would help: First off, End of Anubis [i]will[/i] take Jinzo's place. Two more cards I'm looking forward to are Devil's Sanctuary and the Deck Destruction Virsu/Crush Card Virus. This deck can totally abuse DDV. Finally, a less-competative deck, using two upcoming cards from Ancient Sanctuary. [u]DeathBug's Jolt[/u] Tribute Monsters: Thunder Dragon x3 Thunder Lord Monsters: Thunder Nyan Nyan x2 Evil King of the SWamp DD Warrior Lady x3 Shining Angel T-Virus Magical Scientist Sin. Serpant Witch Sangan Traps: Imperial Order Call of the haunted Destruction Ring Waboku x2 Magic: Monster Reborn Pot of Greed Dark Hole Regeki HFD Graceful Charity Heavy Storm Premature Burial MST x3 Miarge of Nightmares Painful Choice Polymerization x2 Defusion x2 Luminous spark x2 Terraforming Fusion: Standard + Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon x2 I wanted a kind of Ligh/Thunder deck, but there's only three decent thunder monsters I could think of. I luff the Thunder Dragons and Thunder Nyan Nyan, though. The Defusion combo can deal 6000 damage in one turn, not counting my normal summons for the turn. THTD is the fastest fusion in the game, so it's easier to pull off than with any other creature. Post-Ban: It's actually helped by the bannings, since most Fusion decks burn up their hand. Japanese cards that would help: No other Thunder types worth using exist to my knowledge, but I'd replace one Thunder Nyan Nyan with a Blade Knight when he was released. Id' also substitute one Defusion for one Reinforcements of the army in that instance. Anyway, your thoughts? gouf Posted May 14, 2004 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Alright its been awhile since iv'e done anuthin on this board but here gose nothing This deck is a basic newb deck you have mostly starter deck cards and some nice Rares thrown in there. I would lose the gia dragon champ fusion. get rid of gia Curse of dragon and ploymeraization. Replace jowgen with any other high attack 4 or lower star monster. Replace Armed ninja and trap master with some other type of magic removal card (ex. Breaker the magcial warrior, mystical space typhoon, heavy strom...) You need more single play high attack monsters.(1800+) but others wise a soild beck for a beginer. Also I need a little help in prepareing for the regionals. My deck hasn't been doing as well latey iv'e been winning fewer and fewer tourments in the past month. gouf Posted May 14, 2004 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Ok your deck has some wack cards in there. Get rid of Lady Assailant of the Flames she is nothiong but trouble. Sogen is a waste of time. If your gonna run equipments you need to run better ones. Sword of dark destrcution and lighting blade are too specfic in wich monster you can play them on. Yami is also not needed. Add a little bit more magic/trap removle. replace remove trap with a typhoon. replace mystical efl wwith smething a little higher like battle footballer or Soul tiger. Replace or take out most of your monsters with ATK lower than 1700. To answer your question about a side boadr it works like this. A Match is made up of 3 dules. The frist dule you play then.. after you finsih the first dule you can switch cards in your deck with cards in your sidedeck then play the second dule do it again if you need to. Jeebs Posted May 24, 2004 Share Posted May 24, 2004 You mixed up Tribute and Non-Tribute Monsters. Summoned Skull, Dark Magician, etc. are Tribute Monsters. Union Monsters have the ability to become Equip Spell Cards and equip themselves to certain monsters. Like your Dark Blade can be equipped with a monster called Kiryu. Now for your deck. Your number of monster cards should be about equal with your spell/trap cards. Try taking out a few trap cards, like maybe The Emperor's Holiday. You should also take out De-Spell and Bait Doll and replace them with some Mystical Space Typhoon's. (You can get them from the Kaiba Evolution and Pegasus starter decks) You should probably take out Sword of Deep-Seated and Horn of the Unicorn for Malevolent Nuzzlers or Axe of Despairs (Which can be found in the Yugi Evolution starter deck) You should also make sure not to have too many tribute monster. Take out Marie the Fallen One. She's pretty weak and you only gain 200 Life Points from her effect. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
