And doesn't have many Equip cards? That's because I base my deck around my main three monsters, Bahstard Blader, Black Magician and Black Paladin.I have 7 level 4 Dragons so I can get them on the field to activate my Bahstard Blader, and Black Paladins effects. Sportsguy76 Posted January 23, 2004 Share Posted January 23, 2004 Hatake Kakashi your deck is alright but it needs more planning in it... and if i'm not mistaken buster blader only gets the 500 atk boost only for your opponent's dragon monsters, so running a dragon deck does nothing for buster blader...and you have outdated cards as well, Sticky Pit Trap should be taken out and replaced with atleast a trap hole but idealy Mirror force lol but even i don't have that card...(well i did but i traded my 1 edition Mirror Force for my Yata...) and Sword of Deep Seated if i'm not mistaked it returns to the top of your deck when it is destoryed and that only slows down your deck futher and makes you vunlerable to yata, or just a massive beat down. suppose your opponent has a summoned skull and you only have a Sword of Deep Seated and dark magican out, well playing sword of deep seated would rasie dark magican to 3000atk but next turn if they destroy dark magican with a fissure or something, then you have no monsters and sword of deep seated is placed back on top of your deck and next turn you would get it back but your opponet would know this as well and just play a monster to attack you and then he would gain control of the duel... your deck is also very vurerable to a gravity bind deck since you don't have any mystic space typhoons and such...i could go on about that situation but i think this post is long enough... Kakashi Posted January 24, 2004 Share Posted January 24, 2004 Your trap count is a little too high. Having over 7 in anything but a Odion/Rishid fan deck or all trap deck is a bad idea. How do you plan on summoning Paladin without Fusion or Fusion gate? You're also missing staples...a lot of them. You'll need to change a lot of things in your deck. You have no M/T removal, no recursion, no drawing power...basic idea of what it should look like: Magic [18]: 3x Cyclone 2x Proof of Dragon Destruction 2x Fusion 2x Fusion Gate 1x Tempest 1x Harpie's Feather Sweep 1x Raise Dead 1x Jar of Greed 1x Black Hole 1x Thunderbolt 1x Change of Heart 1x Early Burial 1x Theft Insofar as the monster section goes, take out Baby Dragon for Troop Dragon- deck thinning, in addition to the Graveyard boost- the Amazon and Sea Dragons for another 2 SBM, Breaker and Dimensional Warrior Girl. Gazetto can go for Exclusivity Virus. Traps, you'll probably have to change them completely too. Call of the Haunted, Emissary of Harmony, Mirror Force, Ring of Destruction, Imperial Order...not hard to get in Japanese. It's a nice start, but does need some serious work... Themed Decks can be very good if you get them with exactly the right support cards. As it stands, there aren't any cards that render whole Decks useless as such. Even cards like DDVD only affect cards on the field and in player's hands. Attributes don't really matter too much if you're just going for a Beatdown; if you have a specific element or attribute Deck then you need to be a little more picky, but there's not really a huge harm in having one central focus. I know it sounds odd, but hear me out: if you want to return MN to the top of your deck, what's the cost? &00 LP. If you want to return AoD, what's the cost? A whole monster. Would you rather have 300 extra attack points, or an extra monster? This is a personal value judgement, but something to consider when choosing equips. Black Pendant is used as a bluff card in burner decks. SEt i, then let you opponent destroy it, thinking it's Mirror Force or another traps. Rush Recklessly, because it is a quick-play magic, has a great deal of versitility. It can be set as both a trap, and a temporary power boost. Reverse Trap isn't situational if you plan to use it on your own monsters. Flash Assailent and Nuvia the Wicked started at 2000 atk, but their effects degrade their power. However, if you use RT when you summon them, their power loss becomes power gain. Good use, and those are just off the top of my head. RT needs a deck built specifically for it.
