Dan L
Originally posted by Devidramon And I despise Elvis.
Has it ever occured to you that if the "terrible" singers of the last generation weren't around, then music wouldn't have progressed the way it did?.. I don't personally listen to Elvis, but he was a great singer in his time, and if it weren't for him and all the other musicians of the time, music wouldn't have moved anywhere, and we wouldn't even have this thrashy music people seem to like so much these days. As for me.. I don't have any stuff of the sort you're after to recommend.. I tend to listen to vineyard music, and other worship CD's.. with the odd bit of Stereophonics-style music in there too.. Solo Tremaine
I like Elvis in small doses. It's his fans I can't stand. you know, the ones who can't acceot that he's dead. I couldn't listen to a whole album of his. But I agree with Deus- he did more or less carve modern music. But that's not the point, I guess. I guess the ultimate anti-Elvis could be on any kind of rap or hip-hop CD. Both of which I despise immensely.
Shampoo
Transtic, I agree with you. Godsmack is a GREAT band. But my parents like them, so I could never annoy them with it. They could annoy ME with them. (Especially when they're drunk...)
Guest Morph
I can't believe I forgot to say this! Listen to FINCH! They are a hard punk band. Blast "Project Mayhem" all the way to MAX. I'm serious, its a crazy song.... Or listen to Otep or Kittie.... Or you can listen to Static X like Piro said.... Or if you have an electric guitar, turn it up to max and just stroke the strings like made crazy and you don't even need to know whatcha are doing... I did that at my friends house at like midnight, his parents were litterally gonna kill me..... I run out of the house, heh...
Anna
Psh, Finch isn't loud. The only loud song they have is Untitled, and it's only the last minute of the song that he's screaming. I vote for Sevendust, simply b/c it is loud and hard but you could probably still enjoy it at the same time. You don't wanna torture yourself as well in the process, do you? Anyway, I don't have anything against Elvis. I think he's alright, though I personally wouldn't seek out to listen to him out of choice. But I certainly respect all that he's done to help the growth of music progess. My mom listens to country >_< and my dad is stuck in some dimension of John Denver and Jimmy Buffet. He used to be pretty cool back in the day when I was younger; he has a black Gibson Les Paul (original model) that he used to play these decent rock songs on, but I guess ever since he got old, he lost his touch. Too bad. Now he plays his Yamaha to Cats In the Cradle and Annie's Song. Don't get me wrong they're great songs..... but neither of my parents have a variety of musical interest. They're boring. :cross:
