Animal Crossing

This is for GameCube, not Xbox ;).

And yes, it's one of the more enjoyable games I've played in a while. Anyone I talk to about it knows how much I like it. There are a couple threads in the GC section on it if you look around a bit.

As for looks... Games to me are for fun, not for me to feel cool as I play them. AC is cute, but not disgustingly so. It suits the game, and it helped me get attached to some of the characters and right out hate others. I can't imagine this game looking any different than it does. Its style works.

Well. . ok. . time for an honest opinion from NorykoAngelcry ^_^

I just want to say that when I saw this game, I figured -- awwww, it's just a simple kiddie game -- now let me say that I am a HUGE Nintendo fan, and an even bigger Nintendo GAMECUBE fan. Well . . finally my friend Steve got me to try this game. . what a fun game ^_^ Let me just say that I am VERY easily amused -- that being said, the voices that they have in this game had me rolling around on the floor laughing. I went into a friends house, and was goofing around like I was trying to steal his stuff. . well, I hit this tiger toy, and it's head moved, bobbing around -- I just freaked out, ran out of the room laughing ^_^ It was so great.

Now, like I said, I have not played much, but I was still very impressed about all of the clever features that they had in this game. I would like to play more to get a better idea of the game, but will just have to wait I suppose *shrug*

I give this game two thumbs up . . simply for the fact that I was laughing so hard in just 10 minutes of playing ^_^ lol

I never once assumed that this game was a simple kiddie game. Why? Because it's made by Nintendo. Nintendo have consistently proven, for the most part, that there is always another layer of depth. Super Mario is probably the greatest example.

Of course, if you look at the box art and don't play the game...you will never understand how the game truly feels to play. And so, you're not really qualified to judge it.

I always recommend trying something new when it comes to gaming...if you normally play violent games, you should try something like Animal Crossing. The unique gameplay may interest you. :)

Well my freind, Gamecube and its Nintendo counter parts have been known for more family styled E rated games. But they are all very fun when it comes to gameplay. I have Animal crossing and I thought it was the funnest games Ive played. Of course it looks kiddie but dont judge a book by its cover. This games is very new to what nintendo has recently been doing. I like it.

Well of course... But it's generally like "Elmo's Paint by Number," "Mary Kate and Ashley Go to the Mall" or something like that. I'd consider those "kiddy" games, not something like AC or Mario.

I don't expect everyone it like AC. It is cute, it's weird and the concept is strange. The concept really interested me though, so I grabbed it.

There are other games I avoid because I don't like the series or genres too, just like everyone lol.

Now don't go putting down "Mary Kate and Ashley - Go To The Mall" until you've tried it. Kidding. I know what ya mean. If you're a fan of Mario, which I am, you should check out Dr. Muto. He reminds me of an older version of him, only crazy. What do ya think? Put a link red jumpsuit on him... Actually though, it's a really cool game.

Dr. Muto was created by Midway...and that alone makes me hesitant. lol

But yeah, to remain on topic...I generally dismiss what other people say in terms of whether a game is "kiddie" or not. Even some prominent members of the gaming media sometimes behave in a childish way, by using this word liberally.

I think the bottom line simply has to be "play what you enjoy". :)

Well, it may not be the game for you but they really put some effort into the character design, which I really liked. Your 2nd quote sums it all up and I agree completely. "Play What You Enjoy." Well said!

Are you kidding me?! Sure, this game may look like it's for kids with it's graphics, but if you ask me, this is the 3rd best gamecube game(next to Metroid Prime and Mario Sunshine). This game is so addictive, it was all I played for a couple weeks. If you ask me, this life simulator is even better than EA's The Sims. If you don't like making your own house, buying junk, and doing chores, you can do what I think is the best part of this spectacular game: Collect old NES games. Come on, when was the last time you played a good game of Ballon Fight? Also, the promise of what connecting this thing with the E-Reader can do is amazing. Can you say new clothes, furniture, music, and NES games? I thought so. To put it simply, if you own a GameCube, BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!

I have to admit, it was a pretty good game. ^_^
I was pretty hooked while I rented it from blockbuster. I was hoping the characters would look different, and they wouldn't talk as much. It was pretty fun though. I just didn't like how my character looked after I got stung by bees... - .-'
I was minding my own business, chopping down trees, and next thing you know, I'm running from bees. @_@;

Guest Metalaco
I don't mean to flame or anything, I love Nintendo and GC.

I just want to put a different spin on things. ^_^

I say that this game is like the Sims. It's the best thing since sliced PANTS until you play it and actually get used to the fact is is a bit kiddie. You think with the advanced game structure it'd turn around somewhere in the game design, but it never really did for me. I understand how some people get addicted to it, and it was a great thing for Nintendo because of that memory card. I think this game is defintely worth renting, but not worth buying. No offense to all you guys, just giving a different perspective on things.

Hehe, I have played it, and I too have developed a liking to it. I really enjoy how ther months go by and the scenes actually changes, from snow, to flowers, etc. I have already chosed who I like and dislike, as of the chicken, whatever her name is, I am now her enemy. To piss them off, all you do is wack them over the head with your net or just annoy them by talking to them over and over and over... You get the point. One time I got mad at Robin and I ended up trashing his front yard by cutting down all of the trees... Anger problems... The graphics are really good, I was surprised how the new game systems have changed over the last few years. Lastly, I want to state that I know the graphics may look childish, but this is a game that is really good. The game itself goes on forever! But its cool with me.

Been playing the game for a while -- and whatever I said above (though none of it was really bad. . ) has gone out the window. This game is highly addictive, and the fun level is great. Can I just comment on how simply/fun it is fishing? ^_^ I can spend hours just fishing. . lol. I could go on about everything in this game, but I will get to my question =)

I got an item from a character (and my roomie got one from a floating balloon) -- It was "Pitfall" -- and when dropped in my house, it comes up as a white ball with an "!" inside it . . here is my cool picture of it ---> (!)

Anyways, is that a Nintendo game that I somehow have to play? Is there some sercret to that? or is it so easy, that I am just missing it? . . ^_^ Is it an e-reader thing? . .

Blah. . I don't know -- any info would be appreciated. Thanks all *bows*

I hate Pitfall. It was weeks until I found my first one, and then after that it seemed every animal was giving me one.

Anyway, dig a hole and bury the pitfall. Make sure it's near an animal (one you don't like preferablly) and let them step on it. You'll see what happens haha.

And no offense taken Metalaco. No one has to like everything... Some people here bother me about that as it is :P.
