As you can see, this device allows people with no GBA to play games in their Gamecubes, just like the Super Game Boy used to.
Release dates are set for March in Japan and May in the US.

Heh... Somehow I figured this is what that announcement would be. I had heard about it a couple days ago, and totally forgot hehe.

I'm certinaly happy about it, I find myself playing GBA around my house more than I do on the road :).

For lazy people -----

It's about time. . I have been waiting for one of those for a while. To be honest, I am much more happy that they are doing it this way instead of just a link from the GBA to the GAMECUBE.

One thing I am hoping is that they keep it like the SuperGameboy for the Super Nintendo -- what I mean is -- I hope they have the ability to let a second player to draw around on the sides of the screen. . we'll see I suppose *shrug* ^_^

Booyah! I, too, have been waiting for something like this ever since the GCN was released. The only way I've avoided spending tons of money on AA batteries so far is because I got a 24 pack of them in my stocking last Christmas, lol.

One thing that I'm wondering about, though... It says it can be used for multi-player gaming, but I only saw one cartridge slot. I'm wondering if you'll only need one cartridge to play the muti-pack modes on games. That would make it even better.

Hey, I just thought of something. If the Game Boy Pocket is the GBP, what's going to be the abbreviation for the Game Boy Player? :whoops: (If they keep that name, anyway).

I was wondering about this as well about a week ago. Not that I have a GCN (wish I did) but my friends who do really want to play their GBA games on the GCN. I think it'll be pretty interesting with the seperate controller, but we'll have to see come later next year. Geeze, it's times like these that I wish I had a GCN. Is it true it will be dropping another $50 soon? o_O I'm hoping on any rumor I hear!!!

I don't expect any systems here to drop price in a while. There is no reason for them to. Xbox is still outselling GC in the US (I'm sure the bundle is helping now too), and we all know nothing will catch up to PS2. I expect the price to stay like this for a while. And even though GC is behind here, I'm sure Nintendo will ride this price for a while because after $99 there isn't much room left to drop.

Anyway, not bad for something that will probably be around $40 bucks here. That's cheaper than most games, and I'd have like 20 more games I could play on GC lol :D.

GCGBP = Game Cube Game Boy Player?

What I wanna see if the ability to save (maybe on the GC mem card?), which, if I remember correctly, you couldn't do on the SGB.

Ed: Spikey- how can it mess up your GC if it's not even out yet?
